So I really like the Mechanisms and I've just recently gotten into the Tumblr fandom. And I'd like to be into the Ao3 fandom too but I don't know where to start with fanfics.

So, would anyone have any Mechanisms fics to reccomend?

I don't have many preferences, but nothing explicit, and happy endings are preferred (angst is fine but I prefer if it ends non-tragically, i need a change of pace from cannon)

I talked with someone about the mechs, and apparently, two terms are- not right? Immortal and steampunk

Immortal?- they are dead

And steampunk?

Ivys brain- isn't steampunk- the the sheer mount of data that has to be saved for her to just be human- god that's highly futuristic- and paper aint a thing either?- but now im confused again-

Where did we get the term "steampunk" from? Did jonny say that at some point? I don't want to over analyze a fandom that brings me such joy, but i am so tempted to cause i wanna stay cannon-ish in my games? But i don't- seriously- i need help with this? Someone to tell me to just-- not??

Do i have a wrong image of the mechanisms?? Am i overthinking this???

I've just started playing disco elysium for the first time and I have to say, despite the many posts I've seen making fun of it, I actually really like the game's morale mechanic.

Harry is a man who is on the brink of a breakdown, his years of grief, substance abuse and bad choices are finally catching up with him. He is fragile. His mental health is down the toilet. Of course a single rude comment would be enough to make Harry want to give up.

And I really like that snapping after being pushed just a little too far is a real threat. Harry's awful mental health isn't just a side-story reserved for cut scenes. It's not just an interesting character trait. It's a hindrance to his daily life and to his mission.

I like that the game forces you to stay aware of how you're doing not just physically but also mentally. Any amount of psychic damage could be lethal.

It makes perfect sense for someone in Harry's situation.
