Getting tired of Avalance. Their relationship adds nothing to the story or even to the characters themselves. It’s toxic. The level of jealousy and pettiness that Ava puts into the relationship is far from healthy. Dating someone who would break your boundaries simply because they can’t handle waiting for you to tell them is not romantic. Dating someone who wants you to prioritize being “in their corner” over your own morality and everyone else in your life is not romantic. Dating someone who constantly ignores your feelings and makes decisions without considering you is not romantic.

Sara isn’t perfect either, but Ava’s “flaws” are giant red flags. And while there’s Ava talking about things with Sara, Sara never once talks about her trauma with her girlfriend, and once they get married, well, Sara no longer has thoughts or feelings that don’t have to do with Ava.

Why were they presented as a negative part in Ava's story. When Sara sees them she doesn't see human beings, why? If Ava is unique and is a human with a soul - aren't they also? Or we have to believe they are disposable goons that just need to be beaten up. And even of they are, did the show ever proved this? But what is the message behind this. That they are a threat to her uniqueness? How are people with twins supposed to feel about that? If there is a person who looks like you, this is a bad thing? Why didn't Ava felt them as sisters, wanted to get to know them. Ask how they feel? And should we forget that Ava was also disposable at one point, when Rip said that she is the 13th clone that joins the bureau. So even Ava we saw the first episode might not be Ava we see in episode 9. I am sorry but how are people fans of Ava and not bothered by this story. I know I would be.

Short answer is I feel about the same way about Avalance as I do Olicity. In my opinion Ava is about the same level of toxic as Felicity. She has a tendency to make everything Sara's going through about herself and never considers Sara's feelings yet expects Sara to always consider hers and even go as far as putting her own morales, convictions and feelings aside just to make Ava happy. I also don't like the way Ava treats Sara because of her past, and I don't just mean the League but also her former relationships or casual hook-ups. Plus can't stand her utter disregard of Oliver's importance in Sara's life and what loosing him did to her. And this turned out a lot longer than I intended, sorry. I feel Sara deserved better, just like Oliver.

Possibly an unpopular opinion but I like Ava's friendship with Mick FAR more than her romantic relationship with Sara. Ava and Mick actually have chemistry. Ava and Sara on the other hand feels forced. Ava treats Sara like there's something there that needs fixing and that just rubs me the wrong way.

If we're talking jay headcannons, here are some of my favorites:

When jay laughs she usually wheezes like crazy; this prompts more laughter from the rest of the crew because of how silly it sounds

She teaches gillion about space and stars some nights on the boat and every once in a while chip joins in and tells gill about the little bits of mythology he knows surrounding them (wich he learned from finn)

She has doctor handwriting

Jay and Ava used to braid each others hair as they fell asleep, and now jay is teaching Gill how to braid his own hair

Also i have A TON of headcannons for gill and chip, so here are some of those too:

Chip makes up outrageous lies when people ask how he got any of his scars

The way Arlin laughs rubbed off on chip and his laugh is also really hearty and deep-ish

Chip burnt all of his fingerprints off on a dare

Chip's handwriting is chickenscratch and almost completely illegible

Chip is VERY prone to laughing and gigglin. Half the time his gigglin is what gives him away when hes doing stealthy crime

Gill learned swears from Chip

Gill is SUPER attached to his hair and refuses to cut it because in the undersea he was forced to keep it chin length

Gill has long and sharp nails, almost like talons

Gill has scars that have been on him for ages, like since he was 10 years old

Gill can't write or read common, and jay and chip are trying to teach him

common is gill's second language, primordial being his first

Gill has aphantasia

Gillion learned rhythm and beats and basic music concepts from edyn before the elders stopped him from seeing her. In his training, gill would try and move/attack to a beat he made up in his head. He would constantly daydream about music and make up different tunes in his head

Gill is always unknowingly tensed up as his "relaxed" position

Niklaus gets ahold of the anti-Niklaus propaganda and he PROUDLY shows it off in his pocket dimension. Like he even makes "say no to Niklaus" merch for himself

Ollie still has stretch marks from when he big

Jay, chip, and queen workshop with gillion and make little tunes and shanties in their downtime

Edyn is EXTREMELY fucking tall. She absolutely towers over everyone

Ollie weaves and he makes bracelets out of handmade beads and he draws and he fills up sketchbooks with little doodles of himself and his mom and the pirates and his mom hangs his drawings up on the fridge. He also has a small business of making baskets for townsfolk in zero (sorry abt the run on sentence in this one lmao)

(TL;DR at the end bc predictably i ended up ranting)

On me not liking time becky (a/va) one bit indeed, anon. Main the reason i stopped watching the show tbh. She basically solidifies the start of and the reason why Sara became nothing more than a love interest in a show where she was arguably the lead, or one of anyway. a/va was supposed to be a side character but everything revolves around her now, both in canon and fandom, and it's tiring as all fuck for a character as bland as hers, i stg just thinking about her and ava/ance takes 5 years off my lifespan

Lot's writing was always a bit lesbo/biphobic, in particular (mick outing sara at every turn? fetisizhing the fact that 'this frilly likes other frillies'?? lot having sara sleep around on important missions?), but then it used her as queer 'rep' bc they knew Sara had a big wlw following and it somehow got even worse. Nothing says someone is your equal quite like them beating and abusing you, nothing spells romance like they undermining, belittling, discriminating and putting you and your friends in danger, being more preoccupied about your girlfriend's s*x history with men than the fact said girlfriend was fucking dying, critizing your gf's ten year old choices and her oldest friend while she was grieving him ...but it's alright bc we get to see two white women who could play sisters kiss every 5 minutes, right?

And that's all they doooo, Sara hasn't had a story arc besides being in a relationship with another woman and being dead since then. She couldn't even grieve her fucking father, we got breadcrumbs when Laurel died but we still got to see some of her reactions, season two i think was had a whole thing about her learning to accept Laurel's death, accept that she shouldn't change it even if she had the means to, and ends with her deciding to preserve the timeline as it is despite how deeply it hurt her. It was powerful, granted at CW levels and in a show with so many characters, but she had a story arc, she learnt something, she grew...she's done none of that since time becky came around, it's sad and infuriating and a lot of sara fans understandably stopped watching bc of that. I held out for Zari, Amaya, Charlie, Jax and Stein but then they were mostly gone too

And trust me, I'm aware nyssara has some issues as well, the whole conflict with Nyssa's adherence to league rules and going after Sara's family, but Nyssa was very much a product of her upbringing, it was all she knew, it had a reason, it instigated change and served the story, it resonated. and i didn't keep watching arrow but from what i've seen Nyssa grew as a character as well, she chose to stay in prison and told Sara to move on and step away from the shadows. at the very least, they had conflicting, interesting, solid foundations while ava/ance is? just there?? besides time becky belittling Sara and her team, especially the poc, especially Zari, what else does she do? she's not even shown being a good leader, she's co captain bc she's f*cking the captain who doesn't even seem like the captain anymore! Neat little exercise that works every time: picture time becky as a man......suddenly things ain't so cute anymore are they

the only good thing to come out of lot before i stopped watching is Sara going to the time becky factory world or whatever, and when someone says it must be paradise she basically goes 'is it though???' :|||| a whole ass mood bb ♥

TL;DR: time becky aka a/va is bland af and ava/ance made Sara a shadow of her previous self. her entire character now revolves around being in a relationship with an abusive, self centered, biphobic and racist woman who could be her sister, and being dead sometimes. but gay rep, yay!

Ava wasn’t rude to Constantine for sleeping with Sara. Constantine is a rude person in general and hard to get along with at first (see: him and Mick, him and Zari, him and Charlie), and I mean who wants to be woken up only to hear about the person their partner had sex with? Not to mention the stress of the situation they were facing about Sara and the death totem. And no she hasn’t said anything about Nyssa cause Nyssa is never brought up and honestly fuk Oliver, what Ava said was true.

She spent half the episode complaining about how she couldn’t understand how Sara could sleep with him instead of focusing on the fact that Sara was in danger. She was so focused on her jealousy that she forced her way into Constantine’s work and could have messed it up since she knows absolutely nothing about the occult, thereby putting Sara in more danger. She was condescending and snappish to him while he was actively saving her girlfriend, so yeah she was rude to and about him. Stress is not an excuse. She’s a grown ass professional who is supposedly the perfect woman and agent, yet she can’t handle stress and lashes out? Please.

And what she feels or thinks about Oliver doesn’t matter, because Oliver is someone that Sara canonically loved and respected. He was one of her oldest and closest friends and the only one who understood the hell she went through on the island, an important link to her past and her family. Oliver himself is irrelevant, Ava was unbelievably callous and cruel to her grieving girlfriend because she didn’t like her ex despite not knowing him at all. Also, in canon Oliver had just sacrificed himself to save the entire multiverse, which is a hell of a lot more heroic than anything Ava has done, yet she degraded him down to a ‘vigilante’ to diminish his worth. This is coming from someone who doesn’t even like Oliver all that much, so don’t try and claim I’m some sort of Oliver stand or anything.

Either she diminishes, insults and condescends every single one of her exes, which is toxic, controlling and abusive or she insults, diminishes and condescends all her male exes which is biphobic as hell. Either way, fuck Ava Sharpe.
