if the original gossip girl had aired in 2023, dan and blair would’ve been endgame and chuck bass would’ve gone to prison.

The fact that blair had more chemistry with both of the Humphreys then with her love intrest needs to be studied

Calling all Dair shippers!!!!!
I want to start reading fan fiction of them, but I have no idea where to begin.
My only requirements are that it's in English (why must you be the only language my stupid brain could leadn), is an AU and that (while I don't mind if he shows up) Chuck doesn't get any kind of a redemption arc like if he's in the story I want the narative to treat him like the villain he is (the same with Louie tbh but I'm guessing he dosn't get much focus).
I would also prefer it if it took place when they're adults (but I'm willing to give fics of them getting together sooner a try).
So, if you know of any fics that fit that description, please leave your recommendations in the comments.

Still waiting for the day they decide to make a sequel to Gossip Girl set 20 years after the ending of the finale which starts with famous fashion designer Blair Waldorf coming home to find her husband Chuck has suffered a fatal heart attack after spending a minute or two longer on his Peloton than his cold, black heart can handle.
Reeling from her grief and seeking a fresh start away from all the Chuck-related memories which had dominated the majority of her adult life, Blair decides to leave Waldorf Designs behind to reconnect with her passion for fashion journalism she once held as a young woman. In the process, her path crosses with that of a familiar ghost from her past: Dan Humphrey, now a best-selling—and yes, recently divorced—novelist.

how do you kill a feeling: a blair/dan playlist (x)
Tracklist and commentary under the cut:
This is also entirely country music, because, uh… I wanted to? And at least one person (hi Liz) seemed into the idea? Generally when it comes to GG, we skew more towards pop than anything else, so it was a fun experiment!
1. “Easy Silence,” The Chicks. And I come to find a refuge in the/Easy silence that you make for me/It’s okay when there’s nothing more to say to me
2. “Walkin’ After Midnight,” Patsy Cline. [dan voice] I’ve been walking around the city all night with one paralyzing, all-consuming thought
3. “Found It In You,” Tiera Kennedy. The confidence to know that I can be happy/Just ‘cause you tell me that you got me.
4. “Friends Don’t,” Maddie & Tae. [Insert obligatory aromantic disclaimer that Friends Do, Thanks, here.] That aside, this is just… so stupid best friends in pining denial dair-coded
5. “I Try to Think About Elvis,” Patty Loveless. When you’re ass backwards crushing on Blair Waldorf and you would like to not be, please
6. “Hey, Good Lookin’,” Hank Williams. This one was one that just clicked as a dair song at random somewhere—something about the I’m gonna throw my date book over the fence bit especially—and sparked this playlist into being
7. “Lay It On Me,” Mickey Guyton. I want the truth and all your lies/I want your perfectly imperfect
8. “I’ll Be,” Reba McEntire. And mayhaps Dan has a white knight complex. I’ll be the rock that will be strong for you/The one that will hold on to you
9. “Marigold,” Paisley Fields. Marigold, bold and bright/Marigold, through spring and summer/You brighten up my night, marigold
10. “After I Fall,” Lee Ann Womack. And mayhaps Blair is a bit traumatized. After I fall, where do I stand/After my heart is in your hands/And you’ve got it all
11. “cowboy take me away,” Brittney Spencer. This one is in the Vibe—because God knows neither of them want to get out of the city and get dirt on their hands—it’s more something wild and unruly
12. “I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love with You),” Johnny Cash. Dan pining moments
13. “This Kiss,” Faith Hill. I always love story imagery with Blair, so of course we’ve got Cinderella said to Snow White/“How does love get so off course/Oh, all I wanted was a white knight/With a good heart/Soft touch, fast horse.”
14. “Wrecking Ball,” Emmylou Harris. This song’s got the narrator offering a first date if the other person is in, in spite of the lack of privacy she’s got/the things the other person might know, which is very Gossip Girl, but there’s also something about the Meet me at the wrecking ball (wrecking ball)/I’ll wear something pretty and white that feels very Blair
15. “Death Of Me,” Reyna Roberts. Took this barely beating heart and brought it back to life/But this love might be the death of me.
16. “Starting Over,” Chris Stapleton. Gotta give them something good. And, honey, for once in our life/Let’s take our chances and roll the dice
17. “Grow Old with Me,” Sunny Sweeney. They all said we’d never fit so well together/Grow old with me, I’ll keep you young forever
18. “Jolene,” Dolly Parton. I’ve used this as a Blair’s Serena complex song before, way back on the blairena playlist and uh… I was right ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
19. “Milwaukee,” Wyatt Flores. Okay, yeah, wrong city, but—You can hate my eyes for watching you leave/You can hate my should have chased you down feet/…/Please don’t hate my heart
20. “What Brings Life Also Kills,” Kolton Moore & the Clever Few. Dear, I’m writing this for you/As I contemplate tomorrow/Why did it end so soon?
21. “Buddy,” Willie Nelson. S6 dangina hours!!!!
22. “Why’d You Come in Here Lookin’ Like That,” Dolly Parton. Exists in the theoretical Dan slut era of my dreams. He’s out slow dancing with every girl around/I’m a soft-hearted woman, he’s a hardheaded man/And he’s gonna make me feel just as bad as he can
23. “Foolin’ Ourselves,” Evan Honer. Welcome to the dairfair! We get a little chronologically blurry here for the sake of the Sound being right, but I trust y’all to follow along
24. “On the Other Hand,” Randy Travis. On one hand, I could stay and be your lovin’ man/But the reason I must go is on the other hand.
25. “Summertime,” Orville Peck. You and I/Bide our time/And I miss summertime
26. “Satin Sheets,” Tammy Wynette. If Serena gets “Jolene” (or even, sort of, the pseudo-honorable “On the Other Hand”), Chip gets this. Blair canonically sings Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man” about him (which really fucks me up), so I knew she had to be on here somewhere, but I wasn’t expecting something quite so suitable to jump right out. But your money can’t hold me tight/Like he does on a long, long night
27. “Your Someone,” May Erlewine. I thought that I was stronger/I willed myself to be/But love can be so tender/I feel a tenderness in me
28. “To June This Morning,” Ruston Kelly, Kacey Musgraves.
29. “Love is Alive,” The Judds. Love is a man and he’s mine/Love is alive/And at our breakfast table
30. “Love Is A Wild Thing,” Kacey Musgraves. There’s no way to stop it, so don’t try to

No show endgame ship has ever angered me as much as Chuck and Blair. There are many endgame ships that I don't like at all such as Ross and Rachel, Lucas and Peyton, Kelso and Jackie etc...but still no endgame ship has ever made me as mad as Chair. Blair did not deserve to end up with her abuser. I will stand on this hill forever. I can't get over how dirty they did her. Blair was starting to grow to break the trauma bond she had with Chuck, she was becoming independent, strong and gaining her confidence back. She was finally in a place where she was happy and in a healthy relationship, and then the writers strip all that development she had away just so she could end up with her abuser. Chuck Bass is the worst type of person and it makes me sick to my stomach to think she ends up with that man! I know Chair is a popular ship but I don't care my girl Blair deserved so much better than the ending she got and I'll never get over it! It literally infuriates me to no end to think she ended up with Chuck!
"I loved Chuck for so long and he's punished me for it. He ended up treating me like something he owned not like something he earned."
He treated her so terrible he made her feel so bad countless times to the point he started to break her down. He mentally, emotionally, and physically abused her. He told her he didn't want her anymore then compares her to an animal. He sold her for a hotel and physically assaulted her, and he never gets better!
Blair: "Louis asked me to marry him." Chuck: "You won't marry anyone else, you're mine." Blair: "I wanted to be. I wanted it so badly. Not anymore." Chuck: "You're mine, Blair." Blair: "No! Stop it Chuck! I said it's over."
He's awful from start to finish and continues to abuse her throughout the course of the show so she is stuck in a trauma bond with him and no matter how awful he treats her she continues to go back to him. This is textbook abusive relationship. It will never not make me angry how the writers had her end up with him.

He is so awful to her and I just wanted so much better for her. Everytime I think about how they minimized her to be with Chuck and took away her development I get so upset.

I don't always agree with the rankings by WatchMojo.com, but seeing Damon Salvatore on the "Top 10 TV Characters That Didn't Deserve Their Happy Endings"-list makes me extremely happy.

I really do wish we'd gotten the eric season 4 guilt spiral bc how do you even begin to unpack all of that. eric was friends with chuck. he probably did tell jenny that "chuck's not so bad once you talk to him" (how could he know that jenny tried and was almost raped in return? she's doesn't exactly talk about it)
"he has always been that person and he always will be" could he have known? could he have said something at the time? could he have prevented some of it?
chuck was his brother until bart died and chuck made it clear he didn't want to be anymore- he never apologized. jenny was his sister until she made it clear she doesn't wanna be. eric finds her in the chapel and doesn't mention being family at all. "you're still my best friend"
he stops talking to chuck midway through season 2. chuck apologies to jenny towards the end of the season- eric probably finds out then. he doesn't go back to talking to chuck
he spends most of season 3 at odds with jenny. the moments where he's not are moments he isn't there. eric was never a series regular
jenny didn't talk to chuck until in season 3. because chuck "deeply regrets his actions." he promised to not be around but he's around her more than ever. didn't he graduate? why is he scheming with a high schooler? dan and serena barely talk to their respective younger siblings anymore. it's just jenny, eric, and chuck
but eric was never a series regular. so jenny falls further and further in with chuck
eric doesn't do anything to stop it. he cant stop anything. and nobody can stop jenny. (he encouraged this, once upon a time)
jonathan breaks up with eric. but that's jenny's fault. everything's jenny's fault
jenny's crying in the chapel. her family hates her. everyone wants to send her away. even she wants to send her away. only eric wants her to stay- but eric cant stop anything. and nobody can stop jenny
she also says it wasn't chuck's fault. you know that's not true. not everything is jenny's fault
chuck hurt jenny, and eric's seen the full extent. he knows it's unforgivable
chuck hurt serena, but eric only knows parts. and everyone knows chuck's a sleaze (and serena's a slut) so everyone forgets. (maybe even serena, who encourages her best friend to date chuck. you try not to think about it)
jenny's gone. eric's second older sister would kill her if she came back (she begged chuck to come back)
elliot breaks up with eric and that's not jenny's fault. jenny's not even here and things are still bad. was anything jenny's fault?
damian's here. and at least he's someone. and the way that ended probably wasn't jenny's fault (even if the way it went might have been)
but damian was only here for serena (because it's always about serena) but at least she's safe. and at least eric got some sleep
jenny's gone, but she's still a series regular. you assume things are better for her. things don't seem like they're allowed to get better for her
jenny's in hudson and serena's in college and chuck should be in hell but he's not
it's tragic
it was avoidable
if only eric could stop anything
eric tells rufus what happened. he's angry until he's told not to be. you're pretty sure his wife is lying. she seems the type
jenny's gone and jonathan's gone and elliot's gone and damian's gone serena's in college and chuck's still not in hell
dan knows. dan's angry too
until dans dating blair. then it stops coming up
but at least blair isnt dating chuck
at least chuck can feel like he's in hell
eric was never a series regular

Okay, so we all support Bart Bass for his hatred of Chuck, but what about his hatred of Jack? Banishing him to Australia for whatever reason and the fact that this means Bart Bass is anti Chuck and anti Jack.
like, you do realise what this means……..
Bart Bass is a feminist icon.

Blair sighs as she shuts Henry’s door carefully, thinking about crying. She can, now that he’s asleep.
But she’s a little too tired.
The girl she was would’ve screamed at Chuck for this, would’ve left him and spiraled for weeks while Nate and Serena and even Dan scrambled around the wreckage trying to convince her to get her act together.
But she’s grown up. Maybe he’ll be cold or cruel or possessive or angry, remind her that she’s got her dark side too, but she doesn’t have the weeks to spend in the wake of Hurricane Chuck anymore. She has to keep her footing.
She’s learned to keep her footing.
Chuck is sprawled out on the couch, tie undone and shirt untucked. He lets out a faint snore.
Blair takes the glass from the coffee table, pours his nice brandy down the sink—he drinks it like water anyway—and rinses it out. Hiccups, not hurricanes.
She goes back into the front room and picks up Chuck’s shoes. In the morning, he’ll be all apologies and he’ll need his shoes to be where they’re supposed to go.
She thinks about putting them out on the balcony. It looks like rain, and they’re such nice leather.
She puts them in the neat gap between all the other pairs in his closet, goes back downstairs.
He’s still asleep. The couch will give him back pain. She’s not going to wake him up.
Blair realizes, a little distantly, that she is crying after all.
She leaves her husband to sleep.
