New York’s 17th District which over parts of Rockland and my own Westchester County, New York is now represented by a known anti Semitic MAGA politican who was behind a vicious anti Semitic video that the Jewish community was taking over Rockland County. His campaign has represented fear mongering and outrage over inflation and the economy but like other MAGA republicans have no actual policies to implement change for working Westchester County Americans who are struggling to make ends meet. The fact alone, a known Anti Semite who published anti Semitic propaganda can openly run for electoral office and then win is alarming. Where can he lead next now from local office to higher electoral office spreading fear and hate while being anti womens reproductive rights, anti student loan forgiveness etc. The normalization of any racism or attack on the ”other” leads to further division, and as we have seen the rise of Anti Semitic hate crimes, even shootings in synoguges. The GOP have many targets to hate from the LGBTQIA community, particularly Trans Community, etc. If one openly Anti Semitic politican can win local office because of his campaign of fear, where can it lead next? Anti Semitism has been around for centuries, and has continued but now it is at my front door, my county.
