Also, I find it interesting that back when he was Nagel, he would inforce his wants and desires upon his wielders/hosts to what he wanted them to be and what he wanted in general wich would be a puppet thay had nothing but a sick lust for blood and violence, but now it has reversed to aba being able to change him to what she wants and can now even go farther away from his shapshifting abilities was able to do breaking the limits of his powers or at least breaking the limits on we knew he could do

slayer said in the audio drama, if Paracelsus didn't want this, he wouldn't have allowed it to happen and hell he did make an attempt to do so with him manipulating aba into getting more blood for him but then stopped

so, at least in my mind, he is ok with this he is allowing her to do this to him

But it also makes me wonder this during the time of crusades, Paracelsus/Nagel never formed a bond with any of his wielders he only used them, he could only shapshift to fit the image on what the person wanted him to be weapon wise plus possession and while he was a good fighter he wasn't strong enough to defeat slayer let alone hurt him but then he was found by aba slayer says during a fight between the two that the axe was stronger then last time they fought and now in current day he has formed a bond with aba a strong one his abilities of shapshifting have grown more to a point he could be anything aba wants him to be no matter if it's a weapon or a human

So with that, I think we are seeing the effects of what happens when the axe forms a bond with its wielders it becomes more powerful, and so does the person who wields it

And while their are not as strong as other characters, slayer most likely could send them blasting off to the sky's again no matter what. I still believe that they have become stronger than they were before, and they will continue to grow stronger in the future.

This sounds dumb but my brain keeps on making this connection, and I just desperately need to talk it. I love these two so much

Date Night at Halloween Horror Night (Wooyoung) 👻🎃💉🖤

Pairing- Wooyoung x fem!reader

Genre- 99% fluff, 1% suggestive, 100% Wooyoung best boyfriend… but eh it’s debatable lol (warnings: mentions of blood, typical Halloween Horror things)

A/N- I wrote in present tense for this scenario but idk, I like past tense better lol. It’s also informally written bc I’m tired of writing my long fics. Anyway, this was self indulgent so don’t @ me, this was just for fun :)

You want to go to Halloween Horror Nights so you bring it up to Wooyoung when you guys are cuddling on his bed and he’s like "sure, let's go.”

You ask him if he’s scared but he acts all calm. You know he ain’t shit despite his brave demeanor though. Like he won't admit he’s scared but he’s the type to scream when watching a horror movie that isn’t even scary. You appreciate him though. Because he’s the type to do anything you want even if he doesn’t enjoy it just to make you happy.

The next day, he comes over to your place and picks you up. He drives reclined back in the seat with one hand on the wheel, one hand on your thigh YALL. And like it gives you butterflies because his hand will travel a bit too high sometimes. Like you'll be on your phone while having a conversation with him but then he'll just squeeze your thigh out of nowhere. You look up at him and wet your lips. But he's a tease so he'll act all innocent as he continues to rant about needing new socks or something with a smug smirk on his face🙄.

And although he is the best person ever, he’s a different breed when driving. He’s patient but not with jerks. Like cut him off? He’s gonna honk and give the middle finger while mumbling “jerk”. This happens a few times because some people have no manners!! (Stream No Manners by SuperM)

When you guys arrive at Universal Studios, you're both early so you pass time by walking around the CityWalk, admiring all the shops and restaurants that were illuminated by the sun setting. It was bustling too despite it being a weeknight.

Before making it into the park, you and him take a couples picture at the Universal Globe.

And then. The tickets. Despite you saying you'll pay for both your tickets, he doesn't let you and pulls out his wallet, holding your arms back. Like the worker who is selling the tickets gets annoyed because he's been standing behind the register for hours and hates his shift. So when he sees you and Wooyoung, he sighs loudly at the sight of yet another happy couple lol.

Eventually you guys make it into the park and he insists you guys hold hands.

You drag him into the gift shop near the entrance to get matching T-Shirt as a souvenir to remember this date by. You insist on paying but Wooyoung pulls out his wallet again. You whine and tell him to let you pay for things too and he's like "ok, you can buy the food later" and you smile, clinging onto his arm as the cashier rings your items.

You both go into the restrooms to change into the matching T-Shirts before hitting up the closest scare zone. And ofc Wooyoung screams when someone jumps out. This man is so easily startled, like he’s clinging onto your arm while you guys walk along. And every time he jumps, he scares you more than the actual actors.

Then you guys head to the line for the closest haunted house, planning to hit up all 10 houses in order. Wooyoung sighs when you tell him the plan and you kiss his cheek. When he sees your smile, he smiles too, and holds both your hands. (Yes, you guys are the annoying couple in line that can’t keep your hands off each other.)

You’ll both be in line and while you’re excited, he’s not. You tease him, knowing he’ll be scared but he just acts all tough and macho like “I won’t be scared” and you bite back a smile because you know he’s all talk and will definitely scream your ears off.

The people in front of you walk into the house and when the worker asks “how many people?”

You say “two.”

And he says you’ll have to wait.

That makes you and Wooyoung the first in line for the next group of people to go into the haunted house. And you both just look at each other like who gon be first bae 👁️👄👁️?

You push Wooyoung first in line but he doesn’t budge. Instead, he opts for a hug. He holds you in front and wraps his arms around you while resting his head on your shoulder and kisses your neck. And although you let him do it because you love neck kisses, you aren’t dumb. You know he’s just doing that to hold you in place so you’ll be first when it’s yalls’ turn to go into the haunted house.

When it’s finally you guys’ turn, he holds onto the sides of your biceps firmly as you walk first into the scary house. The smell of the fake fog engulfs you.

Left with no choice, you accept your fate. You’re not even that scared; if anything, you’re more scared to hear your boyfriend’s screams in your ear.

A scare actor covered in blood jumps out from a painting and you flinch. But Wooyoung? He full-on yells. You stretch your neck to glance at him and he closes his eyes, while clawing even tighter onto you. He’s cute for that. But annoyingly loud. Even the people behind y’all were shocked and gave some glares lol.

And then depending on which direction the jump scare comes from, he’ll direct your body towards that direction since you’re his human shield now.

Even though Wooyoung knows that the actors won’t actually touch him, he’s so into it and genuinely frightened because their makeup is so bloody. And then the house has so much gore too that it’s just disturbing to look at and makes him scared.

Like your ears are going through it at this point.

And since he’s pressed so close behind you, he steps on the back of your shoes making you groan. You can't even walk at your preferred pace lol.

When you get out of the first house, he’s breathing loudly but stands confidently. “That wasn’t so bad, it was actually kinda fun,” he says while running his fingers through his hair.

And you scoff because you beg to differ. "You were hiding behind me the whole time."

He shakes his head then responds by pulling you in for a hug. "I was just protecting you, babe," he insists which makes no sense. "I love you, you know that right?"

"You coward." You tsk, while wrapping your arms around him. "But I love you too."

Anyway. 1 house down. 9 more to go.

So umm… IDK how to end this scenario without it being too repetitive so let’s just say by the end of the night, your ears are ringing but at least you had fun. Even though you were sacrificed as a human shield most of the time, you weren’t too mad. He’s still the best boyfriend in the whole world so you wouldn’t have traded him for anyone else.

Extra- He also ends up paying for dinner too at the CityWalk despite you telling the waiter to ring your card up. So you pay for the gas on the way back to his place because he won’t ever let you pay for anything!!!!! (Like he’s so sweet but you feel bad bc he’s the type to not think twice before offering to pay for others.) 😭💗

it honestly makes me mad everytime i think about the obvious lack of effort for world building but specifically for the nobility plotline... sooooo underutilized it's upsetting. like i've read isekai manhwas with better use/grasp of the nobility and political climate... also (can't remember if it's from swd or nb) the fact that lucifer and the brothers' are basically living off an allowance/salary set for them by diavolo is just... ugh. they couldn't have given them actual positions with titles ??? they couldn't have brought their title as princes/lords of the underworld into play ??? like i get they did it for the game, for shits and giggles and idk maybe it's just me lawl

sorry for ranting lmao i've sent asks a couple times and i quite like your insights and takes on things. was wondering if you'd have anything to say 🫡

I love talking about this stuff! I know it's a dating game and the lore/world building is basically an afterthought because the game's focus is on MC's relationships with the characters now, and not necessarily on the world/characters before MC existed or became involved.

I've mentioned before that the world feels really empty to me at times because they don't really talk about characters that exist (in a meaningful way) unless they're the established dateables (or soon-to-be dateables) for MC. Many of them are nameless demons/angels (the demon lords, the owner of The Fall that's been mentioned more than once by his title but not name), generic sorcerers and angels we know exist in the other realms. (For some reason, Uriel has been name-dropped twice with very little info besides that.)

Part of my motivation for developing the angel/demon OCs is to give more context and depth to the world that MC interacts with, even if they don't necessarily interact with MC in their own day to day lives. There are countless Devildom businesses that keep the realm running – who owns them? Who are the demons that develop their technology and vehicles? Who are the demons that acquire the raw materials used to build these items, or design/build the Devildom's architecture and homes? Who are the professsors at RAD and the other students? They're probably not all demons born from nobility, so where did they come from? What do the parts of hell outside the Devildom metropolis look like? Do they live on other levels? Rings? How easy can you travel between them, or why would you want to (or not want to)? Who are the demons that make up the demon armies and where do they live? Also, how in the world did Solomon end up in pacts with so many powerful demon lords, and now that he's not a power-hungry king, how do those pacts serve him (and the demons he's bound to)?

So yeah, maybe I think about the game world a lot because there's so much potential that goes ignored. I understand that the game isn't meant to be an in-depth look at the Devildom or Celestial Realm outside of what's relevant for character development or plot purposes, but it would be nice to have answers for some of the obvious questions that come up over time. Some of the information we're given in Nightbringer feels incomplete or doesn't match the tone/characterization we were presented with in the OG game either which makes me worry about continuity issues and retconning going forward.

(This got long so the rest is going behind a read-more link. lol)

When I started developing/outlining The Fall, it was meant to be a personal interpretation of the game's lore and my own creative spin on filling in all the gaps. At the heart of it, it's a love story between two angels-turned-demons. But the worlds they live in change over time, and there's a lot of nuance and deeper insights to explain how and why those things happen.

Some of the topics I wanted to explore in this project include:

Rank/power structures in the Celestial Realm. Basically, how do the various ranks of angels interact with each other, and how do they view angels with ranks higher or lower than their own?

Xenophobia. How angels and demons interact and perceive the other races/species. Metatron is an angel that was originally born as a human and ascended to the Celestial Realm after being chosen by Father to do so. Knowing that, how does his former human life impact what other angels think of him, if it does at all? (Spoiler: It does.) There's also significant issues that come up with the arrival of fallen angels, although Meta and Azra falling has very different reactions compared to Lucifer and the others later.

The role of the Seraphim. This story begins before the Celestial War with Lucifer, so he and Michael are still the two primary beacons of power in the Celestial Realm. How often do they agree or disagree on handling disputes, and how do they resolve their differences of opinion? I also wanted to explain the role of other Seraphim – basically, it's not just Michael or Lucifer calling the shots, and the other Seraphim are expected to lend their voices to discussions/debates about serious matters and it's treated almost like a council where majority vote wins if they can't all agree on something.

Side note: I really don't like the idea that Michael (or any of the other Seraphs) are free to do whatever they want without any sort of accountability or repercussions. I think the things Michael might want to do (ex. sneaking into the Devildom in disguise) and what he should do (literally anything but that) are two completely different things, and being emotional/grief-stricken isn't a good excuse for a leader that wants to YOLO his way through his problems when he has an entire realm of citizens he is responsible for. Gabriel is my solution to some of Michael's emotional impulses and rash decision making. He's the angel OC that acts as Michael's voice of reason when he struggles to separate logic and reason from emotions. He keeps Michael in-check when he wants to do things that are too erratic or personal, but he whole-heartedly supports Michael's plans or ideas that benefit the Celestial Realm. I like to imagine Gabriel and Barbatos are similar in that way and have the potential to be good friends as they bond and commiserate over their loyalties to leaders that sometimes act like spoiled children.

Fallen angels in general. There are a lot of fallen angels besides Lucifer and his brothers. Meta and Azra are two angels that go through the process of falling together and I had a lot of ideas about how I think that looks on a physical and spiritual level. There are differences for angels that are cast out by the Seraphim for breaking the rules/putting the Celestial Realm at risk vs. angels that choose to fall vs. angels that are punished by Father for defying him regardless of what the Seraphim choose. Azra and Meta's motivations and reasons for how/why they fall are slightly different, and how that plays out (and the impact on the angels left behind) are different too. They don't have a pre-existing relationship with Diavolo to pave the way for their new lives in the Devildom either, so how do they cope? Who helps them start their new lives, and how do they navigate being strangers in a foreign land while undergoing the physical and emotional changes of becoming demons? Diavolo's father is still the Demon King when they fall and it's only Belial's involvement that keeps things from completely going off the rails after their arrival. The fact that Belial himself is a former angel has its own significance. There isn't a manual or one-size-fits-all approach to this either, and Azra and Meta demonstrate how the Devildom's negligence of their newest citizens can lead to disastrous results sooner or later.

Navigating tension and conflict between the Celestial Realm and Devildom. There is violence that breaks out between the two realms, so how does the Celestial Realm respond to that sort of crisis? Once in the Devildom, there's a glimpse of how the Demon King (Diavolo's father) handles these developments and why the conflict happened at all. (Spoiler alert: Belial is an antagonist in this part of the story for a reason.)

What is Solomon up to? He has all these pacts with powerful demons and he's no stranger to the Devildom, so of course he's going to be interested to meet some new fallen angels – especially one with as much power and common interests as Metatron. Solomon is very human in this story too. He has his own selfish motivations for getting involved, but he also shows genuine care and concern for those he considers friends. He gets involved maybe more than he should, but for good reasons. He's a useful bridge to help the demons understand some of the obvious implications of having ex-angels living in their world. He also manipulates things a bit behind the scenes because of his connection to Barbatos (and therefore Diavolo) but there's no immature feud souring their relationship in this story. (Gonna be honest, I do not think Barbatos's problem with Solomon had anything to do with his place on Solomon's list of demons.)

Lesser demons and the nobility. I wanted to explore the lives of lesser demons versus the lives of noble demons. Where they live, what they do for a living, how they view demons of higher/lower ranks than themselves and other races. Zee's an example of a lesser demon who does whatever he needs to do to earn a living for himself, and Azra doesn't have much clout behind him so they almost meet each other as equals. It's an interesting look at their friendship and the way connections to more powerful demons (like Belial) help them both make better lives for themselves in the central Devildom where they eventually grow their business and social reputations. Meta, despite being a fallen Seraph, has practically no motivation or reputation to speak of and this has its own consequences later. But Zee's not the only lesser demons in this story, and if you thought the nobility in Nightbringer had problems with fallen angels, the lesser demons are far more hostile towards them – they're the ones on the front lines whenever war with the Celestial Realm breaks out, so its understandable they might not be very welcoming. For the demon nobility, the ones that aren't actively criticising fallen angels are mostly indifferent to them, but that's not such a great thing either.

There are other areas I wonder about that I don't explore in The Fall, but I hope to do so for the various OCs and their stories. The Devildom's power hierarchy/use of titles is one of them. The demons of the Ars Goetia all of their own armies at their disposal, and some are dukes while others are kings. That doesn't seem to have any meaning or impact in the game world, but surely there are ways that can affect how the demon nobility interacts with each other? It certainly made a difference to Solomon, I doubt he would've wanted so many pacts if the demons didn't have anything to offer him at the time. The how and why of Solomon's pacts is it's own area of exploration, which I hope to do with Belial and Bathin.

addressing things I see people say about why kabru being shipped w mithrun is ‘bad’ or why their canon relationship ‘doesn’t mean anything’ while also clearing up misconceptions of the characters some fans have

listen it keeps popping up and I just gotta do this or my brain will melt (if you don’t see it around then god I wish that were me) there’s an age gap!- erm there’s also an age gap in farcille (ily), the most popular ship in the series...also chilchuck looks like a kid but a lot of fans recognize him as a dilf because of his relative age, so there should be no age gap discourse among adult characters because it feels so conditional tbh

kabru taking care of mithrun is racist!- marcille likes to take care of others as well. is that sexist, or just an aspect of her character?

kabru isn’t treated like a servant, waiting on mithrun hand and foot…I mean he gives mithrun a foot massage but no one told him to do all that lmfao

he's also not the only one to care for mithrun. pattadol is shown to worry for him and milsril was the one to start taking care mithrun in the first place after he…...y’know. speaking of which-

they probably met when kabru was a kid!- neither of them showed signs of recognizing each other the entire time mithrun was introduced nor when they were together. and im pretty sure KABRU of all people would show some kind of recognition if they'd met before. it's kabru!!! the people person!!! mr. "i-noted-down-50+-characters-in-this-dude's-backstory-for-fun-and-actually-enjoy-social-gatherings"

you would think some kind of memory would come back to him especially after hearing mithrun’s backstory if milsril had even told kabru about him as a kid. but nope. it’s just fan speculation unless there's a side comic suggesting otherwise that i haven't seen

mithrun doesn't care about kabru, his shapeshift double looked like shit!- it's obviously because of mithrun's (then) lack of desires that it looked like that, but they really grow on each other

i think it's safe to assume it'd look more like kabru after they spent so much time together (also laios can barely even remember kabru's name..also saw his face multiple times and didn’t recognize him when they talked for the first time)

mithrun is racist!- he’s actually the least likely character to be racist since he lost his desires and that includes a desire for superiority over others. he even calls his past self out on that part of himself. the other elves in that side comic were being just as racist to shorter lived races but just didn’t use ‘outdated slurs’

(unfortunately literally every main character in dunmeshi is at least a lil prejudiced, but I believe it’s worldbuilding and a sign of the times rather than a reason ryoko kui is giving to hate each character)

taking care of others is a pain in the ass!- saying this as a reason kabru and mithrun shouldn't be together is basically saying disabled people shouldn't be allowed to have romantic relationships because they're a "burden"...if someone is actually willing to put in the work, then let them be.

that's not even all of their relationship, mithrun is the fighter of their duo and kabru would've been killed by the shapeshifter or something if he'd fallen down the hole on his own since he sucks at fighting monsters. mithrun helps collect ingredients for cooking every time, too (barometz fruits and griffin egg). he pulls his weight and then some!! i feel like people forget that part of mithrun a lot somehow.

+senshi literally cooks for everyone all time. it's kind of an important aspect of the narrative.

+also, while it is a popular fan thing I see around that kabru handfeeds mithrun, he literally never does lol this is mithrun using his own hands to eat:

just saying because people like to treat mithrun like a baby even though the narrative respects him as a capable adult who also has special needs because of an accident. he’s captain for a reason

kabru hates taking care of mithrun!- not exactly, he was initially surprised and put off but got used to it quickly. i’m sure he’s grateful for all the times mithrun saved him from a monster and teleported them out of danger as well

he even starts doing “unnecessary” things for mithrun’s comfort and safety like when mithrun pushes himself too hard fighting, even after his mission to take care of him was complete when the canaries came back

here is even kabru resting while mithrun keeps watch (mithrun let him sleep for 5 hours before waking him up from the nightmare earlier, too):

there's nothing more to their relationship!- they actually have had a very tight and consistent dynamic since they met and they incite the most change within each other by the end. kabru is the one who inspires mithrun to create new desires so he doesn't waste away, and mithrun is the first person we see kabru being genuine with and it leads him to be more honest with others by the end instead of tiptoeing around everyone all the time (that mask was also the reason some ppl initially disliked kabru…)

kabru’s relationship with mithrun is honestly so important for his character and vice versa, but it’s often disregarded because of one over exaggerated aspect of it (an aspect that isn’t even the first way they interact with each other) or because people want to just straight up ignore it for some reason 🥲🥲

kui dedicates many panels to them that don't particularly serve the narrative as a whole in order to demonstrate this and i think that's pretty significant

you're taking this too seriously!- as if i'm the first person in the world to be crazy about a ship or the characters 😭 i love analyzing text and it's upsetting to see them mischaracterized when kui lays out the characters so clearly and deliberately

also they end up touching each other like all the time and have the kind of canon validation most ppl can only dream of lol i feel so insane look at this:

kinda hard to explain how i don't actually need them to get married or whatever but i'd die on this hill for them and i enjoy their dynamic immensely

tbh i think that even unwinnable fights should be winnable. some of the BEST fights i've ever run as a dm were ones i built kill the players (in a fun way. I had some cutscenes prepped so even the loss would be a different flavour of win)- but then they were clever bastards and managed to either win the fights or pull themselves out of trouble. I think it's perfectly fine to plan for a fight that players aren't supposed to win, but you need to let them. if they can't win, they can't lose, and the meaning of that encounter is diminished. do that too many times, and they stop trusting you to give them roleplay prompts and start expecting to sit there waiting while you drive the story for them.

but if they can win... if there is always the chance to win, no matter how impossible the odds, then they ALWAYS have hope. they always get invested. they feel the big emotions of success or the big emotions of failure, and you fucking Win as a dm/roleplay prompter/lead bastard.

i think honestly what irritates me about yoshidas work SO much is that people will tell you that banana fish is THE gay manga (ignoring the many things that came before it and were more groundbreaking, ie MW literally having on screen (or like. on panel but still.) gay sex in it and that came out like a decade before BF did) when there really isn't barely any gay rep outside of the pedophiles and the one time ash drops the f slur. like im sorry but somehow yasha, a work she wrote in 1996, has more gay rep in it but also has the same issues.

i truly do not get how people can enjoy banana fish with the rampant racism every 2 pages or the rampant sexual assault plotlines (on women and ash bc he is just... written like how yoshida writes women lmao) that are handled IMPOSSIBLY bad and sincerely i hoped yasha would be better because it had been like a decade or so between works. and then it proceeds to continue with the heres our blonde genius protagonist who everyone is weird as fuck to and will sexually harrass and everyone finds it a VERY funny joke to point out how feminine he is when theres barely any women in the work (if you exclude the ones that are being raped/killed/creepy to minors. which to be fair yasha has toned down the sa a LOT) and that its funny that hes kind of gay except not really!! and its just absurd to me how it just persists in all of her stuff because she is not an author that handles gay stuff well. like the scene in banana fish where ash is completely ok getting gang raped and did it solely to get into the hospital when its been SHOWN that he has a lot of trauma with that. and then right after his friend makes a joke at ash's expense about that. like sincerely and genuinely is this what we are hyping up as the old retro gay manga. go read some tezuka and stop reading shit that the most the main characters do is share a kiss in a nonromantic sense and is obsessed w making every gay person be evil!!

I just want to commend you artists, you writers, you game designers and cosplayers and anyone who does creative stuff out there on finding the courage to create. Many of you out there are plagued with depression, anxiety, lack of confidence, imposter syndrome and so many other worries and doubts about your ability to create. I am one such person, and though I have so many ideas and stories in my head i could explode, I lose confidence in my ideas and skill so rapidly from just holding a pen, basically nothing ever gets put on page. I'll tell myself I'm lucky if I even get a single drawing done in a year, frankly calling myself an artist is more a fraud than anything.

But you people, you creative amazing people manage to overcome that. No matter how good you think your work is or your level of skill, you draw and write and do it anyway, some of you even post it online for people to see, something I'm almost always ashamed about doing in fear of someone I know seeing it (why do u think I'm hiding here on tumblr where none of the much more talented people I know go). I've always admired yet envy you amazing people, who are passionate about art, who sit down and still make stuff after a long day of work because it makes u relax, who see art as joy than something you need to do because it's work, who would draw and create despite all the hardships and doubts and worries the world and yourself have place upon you.

The fact that you're able to get pass all that and get a sketch, a word, an idea down on a page, I think you all are so very incredibly brave. Much braver than me at least. No matter where you are on your creative journey right now, keep doing what you're doing and create. It is those that keep going that make it to success in the end. I unfortunately will not be one those people, but I hope that I can keep cheering others on instead.
