(also a quick general note ! i don't have everything ready for a formal polished reveal at the time of posting this. i plan on updating this post with links to the songs and also a visual bracket when i have the time. they'll definitely be up soon, so make sure to check back in a bit for them ^^
i'll also make sure that reblogs are turned on for the final version!)
#vocaloid song showdown#sorry it's just a list for now i promise i'll update it and make it look nicer as soon as i get the chance :'D#i'll also add the playlists to the final post so those will finally be out soon too !#but for now it's just a quick little post to get the matchups out sooner rather than later since this is already kinda behind schedule :')#anyway it's still kinda bonkers to me that only one person nominated po pi po and electric angel#those songs used to be Everywhere it felt like#and unless i continually missed it no one sent in llevan polka :(#(to be fair itnisn't originally a vocaloid song. idk if i could fully qualify it bc of that but still shocked that it got no nominations)#oh also ! until i have the image finalized if anyone thinks any matchups should be tweaked at all feel free to lmk !#i was mostly judging popularity based on nominations and view count (reprints included) but it was hard to tell for some ???#like i remember a whole bunch of reprint channels getting deleted or privating all their videos and i'm sure that impacted some view counts#and rolling girl in particular has a lot less views than i thought it would ???#it's not a small amount by any means but it also seems to be on the higher side of the average for the final bracket songs#it was also unsurprisingly the most nominated song#so some of the matchups were a bit weird and wonky to put together fhdkfh#(especially echo actually too ? it got 2 nominations and barely made it but has the highest view count out of all the songs last i checked)#anyway all that to say if anyone wants to give feedback on the bracket pairings i'm open to it until i get the formal version up ( ^^)b#additionally if i missed any songs that should have some sort of warning please let me know fhdkdh#i added them only off the top of my head so i might've missed one#(the final version of this will have more specific warnings too. potential flash warnings as well)#EDIT :: changed up within 24 hours to up soon#i wish i could've had everything together within 24 hours but things came up and i need just a little more time :(#but i wanna get started on voting monday (february 27) for real this time ! no more putting it off :'D

Call for Submissions: The Self-Love Tournament 🎉👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩
Be it alternate universes or freak transporter accidents, a witch's curse or timeline shenanigans, one thing that's fascinated scifi and geek fan culture for ages, especially on this hellsite, has been the prospect of meeting yourself.
And also.
What if you then did the dirty.
To honor this glorious tradition, I'm assembling a tournament that pairs the sexiest of tumblrmen with themselves, and then pits them against each other. We'll determine, once and for all, the selfcest champion.
Automatically included are some of the greats (and my personal favorites). Feel free to include them in submissions so I can curate lists of aliases/start collecting propaganda
The Onceler (from The Lorax movie)
Loki (from Marvel/the Loki tv show)
Ice King (from Adventure Time/Fionna and Cake)
Kira Nerys (from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)
Dave Strider (from Homestuck)
The Doctor (from Doctor Who)
Sans (from Undertale)
England (from Hetalia)
Submissions
I'll try to prioritize characters with more submissions or more impassioned propaganda, so keep that in mind when submitting
+ Ground Rules:
I reserve the right to exclude any characters or fandoms from the bracket (to be fair, the most hated usually get voted off quickly anyway). For example, I decided to exclude a MCYT character, as their player is not comfortable with certain fandom behavior, and there's significant overlap between the character and creator. I'm not here to shame you, but I don't want to amplify something that sexually objectifies a real person beyond their stated boundaries.
Feel free to vote on whatever criteria you see fit! I try to prioritize iconic ✨ examples, ones that have had large impacts on Tumblr history, and any personal blorbos 💖
(NEW 9/20) I did say whatever criteria, but I do feel like I should address hate-voting. I'm not going to forbid it, but I ask that you consider if you really do hate the character/fandom that much. For example, Oncelercest isn't my cup of tea by any means, but man.... you gotta hand it to him.....
I love passionate (and even sometimes violent) propaganda, but do NOT bully anyone or send targeted threats. If it's getting nasty out there, I might use my judgement to adjust this rule, but I hope I won't have to.
Please feel free to spread this submission list! Tagging some of my inspirations: @ao3topshipsbracket @who-do-i-know-this-man @stop-spreading-this-poll @masked-character-competition @bestadaptationtournament @ultimate-anime-tournament @unlikely-adversaries-bracket @top-fictional-unhinged-women @mosthomoeroticenemies @bestfictionaldivorce @controversial-blorbo-bracket @tournament-winners-tournament @the-most-character-i-ever-saw :)
From my end, I really appreciated how @controversial-blorbo-bracket ran their tournament, so I'll try to follow their lead: be open and transparent, give people who are writing propaganda the benefit of the doubt where possible, and try to take passionate takes in stride.
(NEW 9/24) Constructive crit or feedback in good faith is appreciated! I want to make this a space for celebration of fandom

Fix EVERY Mopar Handling Ill With This 2-Hour Bolt-On Kit!
Technology improves over time. There is just no escaping that. What used to be the most advanced, time-saving, coolest thing one could own a few decades ago is now at best a curiosity or maybe just a paper weight. Anyone remember pagers, the Newton, the PDA?
Engine technology today is nothing short of astonishing. How many of us could even have imagined something like the Hellcat much less the new Demon even just a decade ago? And how many of you are chomping at the bit to install one of these engineering wonders into your classic ’Cuda or Charger?
And there’s the rub. That much power can get you into trouble in the blink of an eye. What about the suspension system that needs to support all of these new power gains? Brute power is great, and most of us are willing to make sacrifices to have it, but what if you want your car to handle as good as it goes straight?
Sorry to say this, but a Mopar’s torsion-bar suspension wasn’t really all that great even back in the day. The roll center was too high, there wasn’t enough caster angle, and the whole thing weighed too much and took up way too much room. (Has anyone ever been frustrated by torsion bars being in the way?).
Bill Reilly of Reilly Motorsports went through an enormous amount of work to swap in a big-block around the torsion bars, K-frame, and all the steering linkage of his 1969 Dart only to quickly realize (in his words) that “it drove like crap.”
Bill spent a number of years trying to reengineer the stock system and even got to the place of attempting to mix rack-and-pinion steering with the stock K-member but none of it would work right.
So rather than trying to improve the stock system with aftermarket parts, the RMS AlterKtion system was born, which chucks the entire front suspension and K-frame and literally starts from scratch. A rigid but minimal subframe maintains strength yet provides maximum clearance for big performance engine parts. Tubular control arms allow precise, friction-free movement with much more aggressive alignment angles and geometry. Adjustable coilover shocks are both more tunable and compact than the torsion bars they replace, and the all-new custom-valved Flaming River rack provides sharper turning, more control, and better feedback than more common rebuilt Mustang racks. The overall package provides a lighter, more predictable car with plenty of room for your favorite engine.
No small benefit of this system is the amount of room it opens up between the frame rails. With the torsion bars and much of the bulk of the stock K-member gone, a lot of engine installation options become available that just weren’t possible with the stock suspension. Kits are available for all your regular small- and big-block engines, a 426-style Hemi, and 5.7-/6.1-/6.4L modern Hemi engines as well as all the LSX options. The extra freed-up space allows for many more options and a much easier time of fitting headers, exhaust, and oil pans. A 1.25-inch sway bar is included with the kit. RMS will even allow you a free one-time spring exchange if you discover that your first choice wasn’t just right. They even include the shock adjusting wrench at no extra charge.
This is a tight, precise system. You will experience a tremendous increase in steering control and driver feedback. This system’s geometry includes an improved steering axis inclination angle that along with an increase in the caster angle will give you a modern, well-defined steering experience. In other words, your ’Cuda won’t steer like a 50-year-old design anymore. The much lower roll center will help keep your car flat during cornering, which keeps the tires flat on the road, which ultimately will increase your desire to find more corners to turn and burn.
Another advantage of this kit is that with the Mustang II spindles comes a wide variety of options for aftermarket brake kits. (Your stock brakes will not work with these spindles.) RMS can supply you with any number of Wilwood four-piston brake options from 11-inch smooth rotors ($695.00) to 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors ($1,924.00). They can also set you up with a variety of master cylinders, proportioning valves, and boosters. You’ll want to consult with their outstanding customer service team to determine which ones will be the best option for your combination and intentions.
It doesn’t hurt that this kit is stupid simple to install. After a couple of welded-on brackets are shaved off of the front frame rails, this thing is a straight-up bolt-on. The supplied instructions are very thorough and easy to follow. Muscle Car Restorations in Chippewa Falls, WI did this install on the bare frame of an E-Body Barracuda in about two hours. But even if it’s your first time and you have to remove your old suspension first, this job should be easily accomplished by you and a friend in an afternoon, assuming the engine is already out.
What about hooking up the steering you’re thinking? Also pretty easy, but some modifications to your column might be to your advantage. The kit comes with a pair of billet steel needle-bearing u-joints and an extra long cut-to-fit intermediate shaft to connect them. The column u-joint attaches to the shaft with the original steel dowel pin while the rack u-joint is fixed with set screws. You then measure the exact length you need for the intermediate shaft, cut it to length, and tighten it in place.
One thing you’ll need to check is your steering column shaft end play. Not all Mopars have a support bearing in the bottom of the column and even if you do it’s probably worn. RMS can supply you with a new self-lubricating Delrin support bushing that will properly support the shaft and will last forever.
Especially if you are replacing the bushing anyway, a highly recommended modification is to shorten your steering column housing to a point near the firewall. (We’ve included photos from a previous AlterKtion installation here.) By moving your support bushing up to the firewall, you’ll gain a lot of room for your number-seven header tube.
Whether you are planning to drop in a modern high-tech Hemi or a big-block brute, an AlterKtion kit would very much be worth considering as a prerequisite for the project.
For a more detailed description of the RMS AlterKtion front suspension, and to see in detail how to install one on a Mopar A-Body, click here: hotrod.com.
These are the essential components of the AlterKtion kit for an E-Body (part #RMS303-2, $4994.00). RMS offers kits for A-, B-, and E-Body Mopars with small-block, big-block, Hemi (all), and even LS engines. Kits are around $5,000 and include everything except disc brakes. Wilwood brake kits for the AlterKtion system start at around $700.
The first order of business is to remove the lower bump-stop brackets from both frame rails and clean up any residual weld debris to smooth out the rails.
With the frame rails cleaned up, simply lift the AlterKtion frame into place and bolt it up to the frame like any other K-frame. It’s just four bolts.
There are two 3/8-inch holes at the bottom of both shock towers. You’ll need to drill two 3/8-inch holes through both sides of the frame rails. MCR finds that using a little lubricating oil on the drill bit makes this task go smoother.
The backing plate holes are pre-drilled to the same spacing as the shock tower holes. Since the odds are that you won’t be able to drill perfectly straight through both holes, RMS recommends that you drill only one hole all the way through and then install the backing plate and use it as a guide to drill the interior side of the second hole from the engine compartment side.
Do not overly tighten these bolts so that you crush the frame rail. They only need to firmly hold the K-member’s shock tower against the frame. Over tightening can damage and weaken your frame rails.
Installing the lower control arms is as simple as inserting the bushings and tapping the pivot shaft through the pivot tube using a soft hammer if necessary. Some anti-seize compound is a good idea here. Notice the small divot in the shaft. It must be lined up with the set screw hole in the pivot tube.
This set screw prevents the pivot shaft from rotating in the tube, forcing all the movement to take place at the greased ends of the control arm.
Both lower control arms are the same in that they will fit on either side so be careful to see that the sway bar mounts are positioned on the forward leg of the arm.
Installing the Viking Warrior double-adjustable coilover shocks (Ride Tech single adjustable shocks are a zero up-cost option) is standard stuff. For tuning purposes, be sure that the pair of adjustment knobs are facing where they can be accessed. Since they are fully adjustable, ride height and corner weight can be easily set for optimum performance for your specific combination.
There are separate control knobs for compression and rebound with each one having 19 positions. This provides for extreme fine tuning of your ride and handling.
The upper control arms mount in the factory location using OEM eccentric bolts along with RMS-supplied spacers. The longer spacers go towards the front. Start with the rod ends about three turns out.
The spindle install is conventional, just be sure the steering arms are pointing forward.
Next comes the fast-ratio power steering rack. Couldn’t be simpler. Just bolt it up.
The tie-rod ends attach from the bottom up with the nut on the top of the steering arm.
The 1.25-inch sway bar bolts to the front of the crossmember with the bar end typically installed below the control arm. By flipping the bar over, it can be installed above the control arm but clearance to the coilover will be very tight.
In this shot from a similar installation on a 1968 Plymouth Valiant A-Body, note the support bearing at the end of the steering column housing. Not all Mopars have this but even if you do, it likely needs replacement. Because u-joints are being used to connect the steering shaft, column support is required so be sure to get one from RMS when ordering.
RMS highly recommends shortening the column housing so the bearing is up near the firewall. This provides good support and you’ll gain a bunch of header clearance in the process. The arrow points to the new RMS steering column bearing support.
The final step after the billet steel U-joints are fitted to the column shaft and the rack is to measure and cut the intermediate shaft to the exact length needed for your application. The shaft is shipped long to allow for chassis and manual/power rack variations (1968 Plymouth Valiant shown)
