Rice, Rice, baby | Chapter 1

Summary: Liv and Declan, Declan and Liv, or the story about how a born and raised Tottenham girl falls in love with an Arsenal player... and its consequences.

Author’s note: Best way to celebrate my birthday? By sharing a new story about my beloved 🥳🫶🏻 I started writing this story back in October after making this gif (that's how Declan looks on this first chapter), and I got so inspired that I even managed to write like a script with everything I wanted to happen from beginning to end, which doesn't happen very often or never tbh 😅 I hope you like it as much as I do, and as always, thank you for reading! 💜

"And don't forget about the national team staying with us next week. We need to be at our best, the club wants them to keep coming here and not go back to Carrington or any other training centre" our boss says.

"We always are at our best."

"I know, Alex. But you know what I mean.”

"Yeah, we have to kiss their asses" he mutters.

"Shh" I tell him, hoping our boss hasn't heard him.

"You know it's true" he whispers. "Since we don't have enough with our princesses, now we'll have new ones. And I'm sure they are even more annoying."

"If you dislike football and this job so much, why don't you quit?"

"I don't dislike football, Liv. I dislike football players, it isn't the same” Alex says. “And I don't quit because Tottenham is the team me and my dad support, they happen to pay really well, and I need the money. Besides, what will your dad say? He helped me get this job, I can't disappoint him."

"He'll survive" I chuckle.

"I don't think so. If I'm not here, who will make sure his daughter doesn't end up sleeping with a football player? Especially now that we are gonna have some Arsenal ones in the building. They are the enemy."

"That is so stupid."

"The rivalry between Tottenham and Arsenal isn't stupid, Liv. Please show some respect."

"Whatever" I reply, trying to focus again on what our boss is explaining.

"Ready to meet our new princesses?" I ask Alex.

"No."

"Well, too late. They are here" I say when the doors of the cafeteria open and the players from England's national team start walking in, Harry Kane leading them.

"Urgh, not him" Alex groans.

"Shut up and get to work. And don't forget to smile."

"I don't want to smile at him. Or at any of them."

"Hello, guys. Nice to see you again."

"Harry, hi!" I say. "How are the Germans treating you?"

"Good, all good. How are you around here?"

"All good too" I smile. "Same as always?"

"Same as always, Liv."

After Harry some other players like Rashford, Stones or Bellingham also come get their orders, and then…

"Hi, what can I get… you" I say, getting lost in the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. 

"A latte, please" he smiles.

"A… a la… a…" I mumble.

"Liv… Liv… Olivia!" Alex says, hitting my arm.

"Ouch! What?"

"His order" he says, nodding towards the blue eyed God in front of me. "Didn't you hear him?"

"I… Yes. A latte."

"That's it" he smiles again, the most stupid giggle ever leaving my mouth. What an amazing first impression, Olivia. 

"I… Umm…" I mumble again.

"Liv, hey! Long time no see!" 

"Madders, we saw each other three days ago" I say, my brain remembering how to work after hearing his voice.

"It feels like an eternity" he smiles. "Have you met Dec yet?"

"Uh?"

"Mr. Declan Rice. The most expensive English football transfer in history" he laughs, wrapping his arm around the blue eyed God's neck and messing up his hair, somehow making it look even better than it already did.

"You… what?"

"You hadn't recognized him?" Madders says. "I know he's had a big glow up, but he hasn't changed that much since the Euros."

"Yeah… I…" I say, feeling my cheeks on fire and the stupidest person in the world. How did I not recognize one of England's best players?

"Anyway, can I get the same as always?"

"He asked first."

"But he plays for Arsenal and I am a Tottenham boy, Liv. What will your dad say?" Madders smirks. 

"Her dad?" Declan asks with a confused look.

"He's been working for Tottenham since before we all were born and hates anything Arsenal" Madders explains. "So if he finds out that you are favouring him over me…"

"You are so annoying, James" I say, rolling my eyes.

"Yet you love me" he smiles. "So, can I get my usual?"

"No" I say, turning around and getting Declan's order ready.

"You are so rude, Olivia…"

"Yet you love me" I reply, making Declan laugh. "Your latte."

"Thank you, Liv" he smiles as he takes his cup, our fingers barely touching but being enough to make my face burn once again. 

"You're welcome" I giggle. You are so lame, Olivia. Dear God.

"Can I get my coffee now or are you gonna keep smiling at each other like two teenagers in love?" Madders asks.

"What?" Declan and I say at the same time.

"Flirting with an Arsenal player, Liv… What will your dad say?"

"Shup up, James" I say, turning towards the coffee machine to hide that my face now must be the same colour as Declan’s Arsenal shirt.

"You are an idiot, bro" I hear him say before walking away.

"What? Why? What did I say? Liv, hey. What did I say?" 

"Just go drink your coffee, James" I sigh.

"But…"

"Go."

"You two are so weird… Made for each other" he winks, making me roll my eyes again.

Once I'm done with all the orders, I can't help but check around the cafeteria looking for Declan. During the Euros he had already caught my eye, but he didn't look as hot as he did right now. He was definitely aging like fine wine. 

When I finally spot him, he's sitting next to other Arsenal players, a soft smile on his lips while sipping his coffee. And then… Then he turns to look at where I am. At me. And his smile grows wider, making my knees feel like jelly. 

"Best coffee ever" he mouths, remarking each word.

"Thank you" I reply, definitely smiling like an idiot.

"Olivia, Olivia, Olivia…"

"Holy shit, Alex" I jump when I hear him next to me.

"Flirting with an Arsenal player at work? And him among them all? Your dad is gonna be so disappointed…"

"Shut up, Alex" I say, giving him a push that doesn't move him from where he is standing. "I'm gonna go check that we aren't running out of anything, you know how picky the boss is with that."

"Yeah, run away."

"Fuck you" I reply, showing him my middle finger and hoping no one from the national team has seen it. The least thing I need right now is someone complaining to our boss because of my bad behaviour.

As I leave, I can't help but look at Declan one last time, and to my surprise, he also is looking at me. And when our eyes meet…

"Holy shit" I whisper. Can you get turned on by a wink? Because I'm pretty sure that just happened.

1. NAOYA he probably babbled something or did something to reader. had to be one of the prime suspects! other suspects are: roommates, her father, Kimi.

2. SAID RING reader saw the ring and her parents came flashing to her mind. childhood trauma, fear of marriage or smth.

i can feel the angst coming. i suddenly wanna read FYI all over again until MIU is over. at least that one is finished and i know how it ends after some crazy angst. anxiety solved. here in MIU? i can feel im starting to get lost again IM HOLDING ONTO SUKUNA TILL THE END LIKE HOW I HELD ONTO SUNARIN DONT LOOK AT ME i rlly dont know how you do things or how your hands work but i have FAITH that 'exes are exes' even if you try to open a past wound and simultaneously reveal an opening for Gojo. i learned that lesson quite hard from you.

1.) i'm not a big fan of plot twists, i don't like when things happen out of nowhere in a story. so for anyone who's worried something's gonna happen for no reason, it probably won't. and;

2.) as much as i love team sukuna, i gotta give team satoru some hope too. exes are exes... unless you're me, the girl who has gotten back together with exes multiple times 🫣

The Mysterious Benedict Society Reaction Season 2 Episode 5 Blank Expression

Hello everyone. As you can see, instead of trying to cram this in after work I have decided to get my sleep schedule back on track by motivating myself with an early morning reaction (highly recommend if you would like to get to bed at a decent hour). It has come to my attention that there are promotional photos with Garrison, Martina, and Constance, which fuels my theory that they are behind the water polo team and kidnapped Constance. I wonder who Blank Expression is referring to. I hope it's Marlon. Also, the episode description. "Constance faces an old enemy" I wonder who that could be (let's go Garrison/Martina return!!)and "the kids enlist an ally"???. Anyway I'm not wasting anymore time, let's get into it.

YES GARRISON IN THE RECAP!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳

1:00- Oh Sticky don't blame yourself. You tried. Yeah don't tell the cops they're are all on Curtain's team. I hate the man, but he works fast I'll give him that.

2:00- huh no official stops, very interesting. ha, "kilometers, you gotten think like Europeans when tracking them". OH MARTINA IS THE ALLY? She's not with Garrison? She's not brainwashed? I love that for her. Yes, I love that they are still using landlines. All that tech all those geniuses. And they only have one weakness. No cell phones.

3:30- oh boy here we go!!!!! I'm so pumped for this.

5:00- Yes Milligan grab those Whisper memories! But who is rebuilding it? Garrison or Curtain? Looks like we got 2 bad guys now?

6:00- PFT- "research to create attachment feelings", Garrison you're trying. (Side note: the doll thing is funny, but the way Curtain and Garrison robotically try to connect with kids is so funny). Awe my girl stuck to her morals and didn't want to use her device on people. Yes, Constance, she does need better friends maybe she joins the society? My former enemy now the enemy of my enemy could be a necessary friend?. Wait, Garrison, your ideas live in your book? Then he could totally steal that. Even if it was written in code, he's smart he could crack it. Heck, Curtain kept his ideas in a book, and the kids stole that by hiding in trees. Oh gosh Garrison is unraveling. Garrison what happened to your moral principles? She really turns them on and off at a whim. Now she's ready to brain-sweep a child. She is really compartmentalizing. Or will she even be able to bring herself to do it.

8:24- oh shut up Marlon. No one cares. And shut up Curtain. Oh every time he has to have food. I guess that's his thing now. He missed his true passion in the culinary arts trying to take over the world.

9:00- Curtain seems so underwhelmed. I so want number 2 to destroy him during the finale. DO NOT EAT HIS FOOD. DON'T SIT DOWN. Oh does Curtain know about her family not talking to her? Yeah, you changed your name to a stupid pun Nathaniel, it's hardly a flex.

11:00- That's true: no narcolepsy. It's not real joy. Just like... this might not be real vulnerability for Nathaniel when he says he loves his brother and has moved on. He's not admitting that he was hurt, or that he wants a relationship. Hahaha, she takes the food. I hope she doesn't go to the demonstration. "Terrible roommate, good friend": a thing every college student learns about a friend at some point.

12:00- YES MARTINA

12:13- Yeah, he really can't stop kidnapping. And yeah, if Martina's transcripts are worthless, HOW IS SQ GONNA GET INTO ART SCHOOL? CURTAIN YOU ARE THE WORST! She stole their gear? That's fantastic. Also are Reynie and Martina gonna fight over being leader?

14:00- Oh hello creepy kid. I don't like this joy-spreading business. Yeah thank you Jackson and Jillson, at least someone is on top of this crisis.

15:00- Nicholas is in such denial. "more than happiness it's wholeness we're FINALLY TOGETHER AND I'M NOT GIVING IT UP'? No no no no no NO. Curtain you monster. That's clearly why he went under so fast. It's not that he "wanted to be happy" or "felt unfulfilled" it's the guilt. And Nicholas, it's not wholeness, you just feel like you're on drugs.

16:20- "sheer terror" "or a void. Nothingness" Jackson and Jillson looked like they were contemplating all their life choices when they said that. "Allergies" oh my gosh Marlon does this look like an allergic reaction? Huh. "Stiff necks". Good observation Jackson and Jillson, maybe you should be in charge. And yes, everyone needs to be told. Oh now Marlon's threatening the doctor? OH MARLON'S RUBBING HIS NECK! Looks like someone is about to get his karma.

17:00- Pft- "underfunded". Oh my gosh Garrison is literally fitting the underappreciated and underfunded post-doc vibe. I feel for her a bit. She might actually be the only one who can stop HER invention that Curtain stole. This could be the beginning of an unlikely alliance.

18:00- Yes Sticky. Stick up for your boy. If Reynie and Martina could cooperate, they would actually make go co-leadership. Hopefully a better team than Curtain and Garrison.

20:00- Finally we get to see Rhonda in her disguises. "Just had a baby he's distracted" ma'am are you trying to compete with Curtain for "worst boss ever".

21:00- "Magenta" Lol, Constance giving in. HAHA this is so funny to watch her go the opposite way and actually give in to the Whisperer for a second just to defy Garrison. And she's literally showing you how she destroyed it Garrison. She's just destroying you not the whisperer this time. She's breaking your will. OH NOW SHE IS PHYSICALLY DESTROYING THE WHISPERER. Um... what is the old-fashioned way? Is Garrison about to beat up a child?

23:00- yeah, cars with mud would be coming to town from the same place, and likely be entering near each other. "The depression of middle age" I love Constance. Garrison had no idea what she was getting into. I love that by "old-fashion way" Garrison didn't mean beating her up, she meant early psychology old-timey flashcards. " I see a broken angry person". "As a child is this how you pictured your feature self? Life could be better, right?" "Professionally disgraced". Oh my gosh, Garrison went from Curtain to Constance that is a rough transition and she had no idea Constance was like that.

25:00- Yes Kate, secret layer! Yeah locks never stopped Kate. Martina, you don't need to tell her.

26:00- Dipika? Yes we're getting her first name. Uh oh looks like Curtain caught wind of the audience's disapproval of this adult romance (honestly I don't really care either way) and decided to do something about it. The kids might be greeted by all the adults brainwashed by the time they reach the compound.

27:00- oh great now he's dressing like a cult member. HE'S COMING WITH US? Yes, they are kidnapping him! That's wonderful. I hope she has a net. "We'll be together? Well that part I like" he really just wants to be with his brother. YES MARLON FINALLY YOU UNDERSTAND. Now it's Jackson and Jillson's turn to shine.

28:30- NOT GARRISON IN TEARS. THIS IS AMAZING. Constance giving her the tough love she needs to get through this mid-life crisis. Oh no Garrison, calm down you're not brain-sweeping anyone. Actually, now that I think about it, what would happen if Constance is in the brain-sweeper? Could she see the memories of everyone who has been in there? Possibly Milligan? Or even Garrison? Reynie, it might be time to bust out your "You don't really want to do this Dr. Garrison 🥺" speech you used on Curtain in season 1.

Anyway it looks like the kids found someone who knows how Curtain's happiness works and might be able to reverse it! Sadly, it looks like she's going through something at the moment, but hopefully, she can pull it together. Would love to see #2 kidnap Curtain, but he'd probably convince Nicholas to let him go. Wish SQ was in this, but I feel like he might be the actor they couldn't get back. I suppose you never know. It looks like we got Jackson, Jillson, Garrison, AND Martina becoming disillusioned by Curtain this season, so maybe they are saving his son turning against him for the big finale. We'll see, but VERY HAPPY the blank expression actually was Marlon, he will not be missed. Until next time!

Miss Jenn is going THROUGH IT lol xD. Like girl is not having a good time lol. Her dressing up to disguise herself was AMAZING though oh my gosh xD. I think she's just going to be constantly disguising and hiding and sneaking around security guards this whole season and I love that so much xD. I'm so excited for it lol. But! I'm glad her and Quinn are on a bit better terms now, with the apology and the casting of Gina and whatnot :)). Like, not great, not even good really lol, but they have to work together (a bit) :)! And I hope they will, when needed 😌. They probably won't much but eh ah you know lol. Anyway I wonder if for some reason she actually will play Ms. Darbus since we've seen her in the costume pieces xD. That would be wild lol. "I think I was playing Troy at one point" takes on a WHOLE new meaning lol. Imagine if they're constantly switching Darbus's throughout the show xD. Oh my gosh that would be hilarious lol. Either form emergencies or just because they cast so many people as Darbus (despite having so few for the rest lol). Anyway xD. If you do end up as her, congrats Miss Jenn, you're gonna slay lol XDD. I love how they actually read the cast list for the others too, lol xDD. We're acknowledging the side characters <33. And it's lovely xD. But also WHERE ARE STEPH AND RICO AND KADEN AND KAISON 😭😭😭💔😤!!!?! We don't deserve this </333. AND NATALIE!!!! Maybe they were all seniors lol. Still, nonetheless </3. Miss them <333. Happy birthday to me! 🥳 Well, technically it was yesterday, but I was busy so you get my birthday post today 😛I'm 26 now, which means I am officially Too Old For Leonardo DiCaprio! So, relevantly, I wanted to share my odd little collection of 90s Leonardo DiCaprio movies:

A few summers ago, I was (not so)slowly losing my mind from working at a grocery store during covid lockdowns (and everything else that was happening in 2020/2021). So what did I do? A lot of things, honestly, but the relevant one is that I went on a deep dive of 90s Leonardo DiCaprio movies. It started out with, well, the exact reasons you'd think a very single 24-year-old would start watching Leonardo DiCaprio movies, but it soon turned into a sort of deep dive on a famous actor's early career and his strengths/weaknesses/typecasts, as well as an exploration/cultural study of increasingly obscure 90s movies.

...I was going a little off the deep end, yeah.

Anyways. Initially I was gonna write up a whole review list for all the ones I saw, but that would've been super long and rambly and I'm not that committed to the bit, so here's an overview:

Okay, so, this is about the 4th and last Horseman, William Grayson lll. And can we take a moment of silence, for him??!! This man was considered a sweetheart and happy boy. I really love the conference on teenage Will, and, how he said to Emmy that no one will send him to blackchurch because everyone loves him! I love this man so much! Will was meant to be for Emmy. At first, I was so anxious about how Emmy will fell for Will. After reading 40% of the book, I seriously doubt that Emmy is Will's enemy. I got the fear that they might not even gonna be together. But, as we see the end, she was in love with Will since high school. And it literally melts my heart. Emmy is my girl. I love dominating women in books.

The way Damon mentioned her as a "cunt" on Kill Switch, I thought that she might be very awful. But oh boy, she's really one of them. Can we talk about the train scene?!?!?!?! Man! My heart was hammering at the scene where Emmy sucked Alex's clit!! And everyone was following Em, goddamn! It was unexpected.

Also on the blackchruch, Aydin holds Alex and Will holds Emmy, this part is my favourite!!!! I never saw it was coming!!

I also love Damon's humour though, he was a funny guy and how he melts every time Winter does something. It was great to see this side of him.

Also, I never thought that Pen would show the wedding of all the Horsemen, love this part so much.

Fuck Evens Christ and Martin Scott. Mainly fuck Martin bitch. He's not a brother. He's a psycho and a monster. How could he do this so Em?! In some of the parts, I lose my temper and all I wanted to do was dig inside the book and fucking murder him. I couldn't hold this anymore.

I loved the friendship between Damon and Emmy so much!! Best friendship ever!!

Anyway, imma 'bout to cry cause Devil's Night series is fucking Finished and I don't think I'll be okay anytime soon. This is my favourite series undoubtedly.

Ps. Can we talk about the greenhouse sex between Will and Emmy, God! I'll get down on my knees for Will 🛐. Also, my eyes were wide in the shower scene, Will is Damon's BFF indeed.

Love the Mellark siblings, their ease and dynamic and how they piss each other and mostly Peeta off. they know exactly what to do or say to get under his skin lol. It was so cool to see all Mellarks fall in love with Katniss 😏😏

I really adored Rue, Jo and Finn, becoming friends with Katniss so fast and having no hard feelings about each other.

reading how they finally became a couple and realized they were stupid in love was epic and i was jumping with glee lol😁😁

Monica is a terrifying villain. I hate her and sometimes she's just annoying, but you've gotta admit she always has a plan, and is really good at talking herself out of things. Just seeing the way she manipulates all the villains, and everyone honestly but especially them, making them believe she's just a smaller player. Some of them know, and then she just has to be as honest and humble as possible and not interact with them much. Because she may not be actively running her own crime ring, but she knows everyone and not everyone knows her. Like said in the promo, she has spies everywhere 😬😬. Honestly gotta love the planning sometimes though xDD.

I'm so glad we got that cop out of here. Leave Tim, and the others, alone sir xdd. Though I'm sure there's more, even if Blaire can't get to them right now. And, of course, she's wanting to defect. Idk how genuine she is but I think she's in over her head for sure, so I'm hoping she really means to. But I don't know if she'll get the chance 😭. Or be brave enough, based on what she said, which is fair though.
