hey! it's been a while since my last proper life update so it's about time for another! 🌸

Soo I started a new job on sunday and it's going rly rly well! I work at a bagel store, and I used to work at a different location for a few months right before covid and while it was by far the least stressful and least bad job I'd had overall, after working here for three days I realize that at the other store we had been understaffed like 99% of the time and that this job is actually a lot less stressful when there's a reasonable number of people working. so I'm glad that I'm working here now! everyone I've met so far has been very nice and it's just overall a very nice and chill atmosphere, I am genuinely so pleased :)

alsooo i started learning "je te veux" on piano a few days ago and according to the sheet music it's supposed to be played at 176bpm and so far I've learned half the song at 120bpm and honestly it still sounds delightful. 176 seems unnecessarily fast. like maybe I'll get it up to 150 but idrc about getting it that fast rly lol. it's been fun tho! the last song i rly took the time to learn all the way thru was "the very last night" over this summer and that was also fun but je te veux is like an actual song lol and it's very festive and jolly so im having a good time with that!

also I've been doing a lot of reading lately! here's some brief reviews!

- the world cannot give, tara isabella burton; fun read, cool vibes. i read another book by her called "social creature" which i also read in two days and was pretty compelling

- when we were young, richard roper; also a fun quick read! definitely had some laugh out loud moments. it was enjoyable although i think his other book "how not to die" had a more developed story and characters and i liked more in general.

- family of liars, e. lockhart; a pretty good sequel for "we were liars" which i read a year ago or more, but i feel like this had a similar vibe and voice to the first book, and overall the story didn't feel like a forced prequel, but held up just fine on its own.

- currently i'm reading cards on the table by agatha christie, which is the 15th book in the hercule poirot series lol. i started the series earlier this year and altho it's not always very riveting they are pretty quick and fun reads, and it gives me something to read when i don't feel like im the mood for anything else, ya know? also it's kinda interesting to read about domestic life (and death! Lol) in early 20th century england. this book is called cards on the table cause it took place during a game of bridge, and i think if i knew anything about bridge id probably appreciate it a little more though it's been a solid book regardless.

also i read the play "who's afraid of virginia woolf" a couple weeks ago and i finished it cause it was pretty short but it was meh. like. just meh.

anyway! that's my once in a blue moon life update dump lol. would have to say im currently not doing too bad! the rest of the year has been pretty stressful and just miserable but at least the last couple months of 2021 are turning out ok!

hii yes it was good other than misha collins being there and running a . kind of a thrift shop but for mexican made and mexican-like stuff?? but also it wasnt really mexican i guess there was some handmade porcelain too and when i went in to buy sth he blocked my way and told me im late to therapy . so . also i didnt have to go to the office today bc life loves me and the id cards system broke so it wouldnt even log in that iw as there ^_^

also yess ive been thinking abt polish spn too 2days ago i spent like 40mins doing research abt cars to decide which one to give them also i will talk more abt it when i finish the art cuz i dont wanna spoil it too much<3 but yeah to make it super polish i decided to make it . not daniel bron but daniel strzelecki bc strzelba still counts and strzelecki is much more of a polish last name 🥰 also imo itd be fun if they went on the whole continet but keep more to eastern europe cuz theyd have beef with like . french hunters that take care of the west more or sth. and daniel knows polish and english which is useful yeah but not when they go to some fuckass nowhere in latvia and seba is fluent in those and also like . russian and idk hungarian and can communicate a bit in other languages so its easier for them to do jobs

sorry for being pretentious about ares this show really is bad. its only enjoyable months after last watching it when the details start to get foggy. lol. jk. (not really).

the kidokawa vs seishou match is good though! its a little odd that they had haizaki use death zone (notorious for very precise timing and needing great coordination w the other players) w orio and sasotsuka at the very beginning in seishous first match against inakuni raimon when the match against kidokawa is meant to be haizakis turning point as a player and when he first starts playing with the team. like him using his first combo move at the end of that match makes sense and is very significant for his growth but why he used it at the beginning when he was just an edgy loner boy and everyone in the team hated him is beyond me.

also i would like to formally apologize to mizukamiya. i still think he failed as a captain because while its nice that hes on haizakis side he should consider his position and the feelings of his team more. just letting haizaki do whatever and telling the team to ignore it because hes strong IS setting a bad example. and he still completely fails to handle haizaki so its not like he can justify his special treatment to the rest of the team. HOWEVER i have to acknowledge that he did not do Nothing like i thought. he tried to be a considerate captain and take haizakis side and try to get to know him and offer his ear if haizaki needs to talk etc. He Tried. I Admit It. However he also Failed. and thats all there is to say on the matter.

what's your take on mu qing's ascetic cultivation and/or the fandom's conception of it

HMMMMM i mean my take on mu qing has always been that to meeeee he is a very repressed and unhappy gay man and his cultivation related vow of abstinence is in some ways a method of distancing himself from those feelings. cant confront your attraction to men or your lack of attraction to women if you swear off both entirely! in fandom i pretty much only see the sexual abstinence angle of it talked about i mean at the end of the day tgcf is still a bl novel so thats no surprise to me. its kinda funny to me that fanfic featuring mu qing getting into a sexual relationship either ignores/downplays his cultivation entirely or makes it into a big thing, which again doesnt surprise me. him being an 800 year old virgin means him having sex has a lot more weight to it than most other characters. and ive definitely seen kinkier fics about it too, again no surprise i think for a lot of people a virginity kink has some level of appeal because of the special "first time" element of it that you can relate to and find compelling regardless of whether or not you've had sex before. and some fics focus more on the question of what even counts as sex since i dont think any particular acts are specified so like does jacking off count? can he jack someone else off? does talking someone off count? is it only his release that counts or can he not be involved with sex in any way? more than anything else it just takes me back to high school LOL 😅 anyway sorry this answer is so sex oriented idk if thats what you were looking for but i honestly dont remember if any other factors in his cultivation are really talked about in the book and since so much fanfic is relationship focused thats the only fandom conception of it ive really seen since ive read the book itself

oh i have one!! i was in 5th grade and in the playground there was this massive tree that hung over where people liked to play soccer, me and my friend were actual little fucking gremlins and climbed/ swung on whatever possible after school. So we saw this tree and were like yeah we're about to graduate, why not climb this big ass tree. The branch closest to the ground was like 10 feet up but grew up higher so it hung off like 15 feet off the ground and was like 30 ft long, NOT stable, which did not deter us at all<??? anyways.

She climbed on my back because we didn't want to really try to shimmy up this tree bc it had ants on it (remember this). She made it fine and climbed a bit up so she got mid way on the branch. I was wooping, she was proud, and she commented smth about how bouncy the branch was (LOOKS AT YOU). I told her to get down bc it's myy turrrrn and I scrampled up that tree after getting on her back. I was really happy with how high up it was, but a little disappointed bc i did climb up a higher tree on the same playground, but thats when i noticed the "bouncy-ness". so then i promptly climbed back down and NO IM LYING I JUMPED ON THAT MFUCKER FOR SOME REASON?? I WAS LIKE LOLOLOLLL BOUNCY BRAN-. and it broke obviously. it really was like a, i was in the air then i was on the floor kinda moment. the sound was so loud it and sounded like lighting, everyone in the area started running towards us. i was a bit too preoccupied bc i got the wind knocked out of me and i started running around like a beheaded chicken. my friend was standing in shock because APPARENTLY the branch was ON TOP OF MEEEEE. the only reason why i didnt come out of it with broken bones was because there was a CURVE that fit right above where i laid. she walked over to the branch because im like running in circles inconsolable, and there were fucking termites in the tree burrowed in the branches. so my friends processing this, im running around, and our moms and siblings came down to see what in the goddamn was going on. anyways we werent in trouble, my mom was just glad i didnt break my arm again. every one was talking about the massive branch in the field the next day, and we were SO scared we'd get caught, bc one of the teachers said whoever did this would get expelled soo. but no we were fine, we told a few friends and the expressions they had.. anyways hope u had a nice day ro lol i love reading these confessions.

So! Since this is the first Voxtagram post, lemme include the big ol’ disclaimer that’s going to apply to all of these posts: we don’t yet know how canon these accounts are.

This is why they’re broadly accepted as canon: as far as I have been able to track back (correct me if you know better & have a source!), the first of these accounts, Blitzo’s, was found by fans because Vivzie followed it when it was brand new. Since then, new accounts have been discovered as they follow/interact with each other. Some official artists have interacted “in character” with the accounts. The accounts accurately announced when the “Addict” music video was going to come out, and some art posted before “Addict” used imagery that was also used in the music video. So either the accounts are definitely made by the canon creators or else being made by somebody who’s got inside access to the creators.

But, as far as I have seen, nobody on the Hazbin crew has taken credit for running them. More importantly, nobody has said how canon the blogs are. Maybe every image/word posted by these accounts is 100% accurate/canonical; or maybe the art is canon but the roleplaying in the comments is noncanon goofy fanservice; etc. We don’t know yet. It appears safest to say these accounts are probably mostly canon—but take it with a grain of salt.

So until we’re directly informed how canon the Voxtagram accounts are, Voxtagram posts are going to be tagged “#semi canon” (the same tag I’ll be using for stream transcripts) to indicate that it appears to be info coming from the creators, but it may or may not still be canon/accurate by the time the full shows and comics are released.

anyways-

any no no productivity guilt is 10000 percent understandable! i get it a lot (yes, a lot bc yes-) and honestly, i’ve just learned to accept that it happened, but never dwell on it ever again. and if i do it again the next day? i pick myself up (it won’t be easy, but you got this!) and say that i’ll just do better tomorrow, and mean it. the reason why we procrastinate isn’t because we have poor time management skills, it’s because we’re subconsciously trying to avoid things that could cause us pain, so we choose to avoid it instead. but if you get rid of the thing that causes you the pain, or at least make it easier, then you’re more likely to get started. 

as someone who has adhd and procrastinates more than anything else, a huge huge tip would definitely be to start with something that you know you can’t fail. for instance, just start off with something as simple as pulling up that Google Doc, or opening up your assignment, or flipping to that page in your notebook! just do the bare minimum, and start off with that.

some other productivity tips that have seriously helped me are: 

1. listen to lofi music, and i MOST DEFINITELY recommend Avatar: The Last Airbender for that specific genre! that’s because i’m always hanging around in the fandom, but if i’m listening to something from it, it’s like i’m already subconsciously hanging around in the fandom while i’m doing the work. 

2. or listen to some haikyuu lofi music by Ambition lol-  

3. clean your fricken room, this took me 50 years to get-- clear room, clear mind!

4. Use the Pomodoro strategy! do 25 minutes of deep work, block all other sites, and then after take a five minute break. it’ll go 10x faster than it normally does if you don’t get started, and you can always find Study With Me videos on YouTube!

as we know, magolors kind of a huge egotist, but this is mostly due to just living on his own for a good majority of his childhood+teen years and then some, so hes just used to only thinking abt himself and doing things that will only benefit himself. he more so did this by instinct than malice tho, sense he was never taught that u gotta think abt other people too. but when he meets marx he actually gets to know what being friends is like? and he gets to learn how to care for marx, sense when he found marx he was like.,,.,. half dead n shit lol? so he was literally taking care of him and helping him. but anyway, marx kinda teaches him social ques n stuff like that, sense to marx, as a performer, he thinks knowing how ppl tick is incredibly important, and not just for good but for evil too jfbksdf and thats kinda why magolor is so charismatic, he already was kind of naturally, but with some actually speaking to people, he got even better. anyway, they both bond over similar interests and in their want for power, magolor made a deal with marx that if he helps him get the crown, he’ll help marx get his revenge on kirby and even give him popstar. marx is instantly on board. they spend most of the post-ssu and pre-rtdl traveling together and learning more and more about the ancients history.
