hey, you! yes you! *grabs you by the shoulders* during super star spectacle karen literally dies and hikari's response to that is to bawl her eyes out and be confused about karen's feelings towards her only to then describe THOSE EXACT SAME FEELINGS FROM HER SIDE TOWARD KAREN BUT WITH DIFFERENT WORDS AND THEN- AND THEN SHE'S LIKE "I'll send you another letter, okay?" (read: I'll give you fuel again) and I'll be waiting for you (on this stage)" LIKE WHAT THE HEL-

Revue Starlight is just ORV but what if it was theatre instead and what if we told you that a tragedy can always be rewritten? What if the end of the story, the end of the play, your defeat onstage - what if all that doesn't mean everything is over because you can always make a new play, always become better, always rebuild the stage and stand on it again? What if there WAS death but what if rebirth was also possible?
What if this tragic tale that always ends the same had new actors, you know? How would they play it? How would they spin the story a different way? Will they try to outshine the past, outshine others? Or will they find their own unique brilliance instead and join the stars that shine in the night sky?

Never watched revue starlight. Thought it was about a band and saw one of your posts have people sword fighting. Now interested.
Revue Starlight is not in fact about a band (though I can understand why you thought so)! It is about being a girl and it is about being a performer and working hard to become the best person you can be and treasuring good moments. It is also about letting those moments go when it's time and believing that more good ones will come your way. There is a giraffe. It is a tragedy---or, at least, it's supposed to be. How high can one person go on their own, how long can they hold onto that pedestal without someone else's support? How much stronger can they be with someone by their side? Learn when to let go and when to hold on.
And, concurrently, it is also about people fighting with swords.

i do think it's interesting to think about how a lot of the time when people analyze queer couples in fandom that even when talking about like. f/f couples and the way that fandoms treat them but then kind of just... don't look at a lot of very popular f/f ships just because they're not in super mainstream (or even just like. popular with the tumblr/twitter/tiktok crowds) media. like when analyzing fan reaction and gathering around f/f why have i never once seen people discuss things like madohomu or rarijack or utenanthy or [INSERT BASICALLY ANY SHIP FROM AN ANIMUSIC FANDOM HERE.] there are substantial fanbases built around these ships and they're practically unavoidable if you interface with these properties and while i do think there's a lot to analyze in the fact that nearly all of them come from specifically media where a majority if not just the entirety of the cast are women there's also just like? so much going on wrt the fan culture that these ships have that it's just like crazy to me to see these like never getting mentioned in video essays

My weeb playlist can never be arranged in any satisfying way because no matter how smoothly it builds up and transitions from song to song eventually it'll get to Hoshi no Dialogue (Revue Starlight OP) which is leagues better than everything else surrounding it. Like. How is this vocal orchestra epic in 3 movements going to coexist with stuff like La La La (Suite Precure OP 1) and Bad End (hamefura ED 1). Which are nice, by the way, but they're not Hoshi no Dialogue
