When Rome came knocking and started conflating their gods with Greece's, Helios and Apollo got conflated with each other.

Also, Apollo eventually became The Most Important god in Rome - so important infact, that emperors claimed they were him incarnate.

Thirdly, he's bisexual as fuck. or pansexual. either/or, doesn't matter what label or even if he would use a label, all that matters is that he crushes on any and all genders.

Also contrary to popular belief, Apollo does not smite people on the regular. That's more Zeus's thing, tbh.

His songs do not make people sad, otherwise he wouldn't be playing in the halls of Olympus itself, nor would he jam out with the Nine Muses and his twin. Orpheus was the one playing sad songs after his wife died (rip).

Python was a deadly, horrifying earth-dragon that took over the Oracle of Delphi, Apollo's grandmother's sacred place, and Python also proceeded to chase Apollo's mother across the earth. At four days old he challenged the serpent and slaughtered it.

Apollo may be the god of prophecy, but that does not mean he brings tragedy upon everyone who seeks the counsel of Delphi. All his priestess does is warn them of what's to come, and lo and behold, the idiots create their doom themselves. He's a guardian of prophecy, not its creator/controller.

Also, Apollo doesn't have a lot of enemies??? IDK where that came from, because he's The Most Popular god. Greece loved him, Troy loved him, he's Zeus's favorite son, ect ect. Culturally speaking, Apollo was very integral in the life of Greece because he's the god of freaking civilization itself. He's pretty darn important and loved.

really his only confirmed enemy is Python. He has animosity with Eros, but that's really it. He's BFFs with Hermes, he and Artemis jam out at Delphi, he trusts Dionysus with the care of Delphi during the winter season, need I go on?

And finally...the hair? Uh...just read any classical myth that mentions Apollo's hair. Poets rave about how splendid, how gorgeous it is. He kept his hair unshorn. It was golden, making it sparkly. What more do you want?

Anyway, Karen was amazing this episode, obviously. She was smart (including knowledgeable), funny (mostly in the flashbacks, and the end xD), and finally just an icon in general, as she always is. But most importantly, she's ALIVE 😍😍😍😍🤩🤩.

Hen!! Again, icon, funny, amazing?? Not that she wasn't also smart lol, like how I said with Karen xDD. To be fair, she did save that guy! Anyway, I'm so glad she was able to save Karen 😭😭. Well, all of them really. Also, even though it's a bit of a own with how much time she spent on it, I'm glad Hen chose to continue to be a firefighter :')). And she was also great in the flashbacks <33.

And I'm so glad Denny's okay too :))). I was less worried about him than Karen - more guts to kill him (honestly the younger the gutsier in most cases I think lol) - but still :)). And he is of course adorable and an icon <333.

Anyway I am W E A K for those flashbacks 😭😍😍🤩😭😍. It was soooo nice to get to see more of their relationship and how it developed, especially since they were like the only couple (that is currently still together anyway lol) established at the beginning of the series. Or like, from before that, I guess.

Anyway, they are such an amazing family and I love them so so so so so so so much <333333333.

Also the acting in this episode was just PHENOMENAL. Amazing job to all of them 🤩😍😍🤩.

Overall, I thought this was an absolutely stunning episode. I just loved it :D. The storyline, the emotion, the flashbacks - all amazing. Honestly it felt kind of like a HenRen Begins lol. Or, HenRenDen Begins xD. But yeah, we had our team family, and our Hen, Karen, and Denny family, and both were wonderful :). I seriously loved it, and I'm sure this'll be one I'll rewatch a lot.

So yeah! What a great episode. It was so, so good. I just loved it. I'm excited for next week, too, with the Halloween episode! This has been my review of. . .

iwaizumi was... overwhelmed, to say the least.

the past few days had been such a whirlwind of change that hajime could barely properly process, much less appropriately react to it all, so he behaved much like a zombie, saying yes when prompted, signing papers when told, and packing up what was his entire life for the past 11 months.

wow. iwaizumi collapsed on his bed as he scanned his now barren bedroom. he’d been here for almost a year and yet, all his belongings were in boxes within a couple of days.

hajime couldn’t keep the disbelieving chuckle from escaping his chest as he leaned back on his bed, dark brown eyes trained on the ceiling.

it felt like he’d spent such a large chunk of his life trapped in this house, under the foot of the woman who he thought he’d marry but in reality, he’d been in little leagues longer than he’d been in love.

iwaizumi scoffed and rolled his eyes. yeah, “in love”. it’d been about a week since his whole life started to unravel and he had hardly seen, let alone spoken to meiko throughout that entire time.

over text, she’d sworn up and down that she loved and cared about him but as she passed by him packing his things a few days ago, she’d barely spared him a second glance.

hajime wasn’t going to lie. it hurt. he’d opened his heart up to her, something he didn’t do easily, and she’d taken his trust and used it to twist him into her weapon.

he always believed he was stronger than this — he’d never forget his mother telling him so when he was younger. he had fallen and scraped his knee yet he refused to cry to keep from upsetting his mom. iwaizumi existed to live up to what his mother thought of him but here he was, completely enveloped in meiko’s shit, doing her dirty work and following her bidding like some mutt.

god, toorū was right. he really was her bitch.

“i could hear you thinking from down the hall, iwa-chan.” speak of the devil...

oikawa stood at his doorway, leaning against the frame with a posture that seemed relaxed at first glance but if you looked a little closer, you’d notice the tenseness in his shoulders and the tightness of his smile.

hajime quickly sat up on his bed before motioning for his old friend to enter. “uh, yeah,” he began, his voice cracking a little from disuse, “i have a lot to think about.”

the light haired brunette let out an understanding hum before wandering into the room, sharp observant eyes darting to look at all the empty walls. “looks like you’re all packed.”

“pretty much,” iwaizumi nodded before the room fell into an awkward silence, the two childhood friends completely avoiding one another’s eyes.

“look, i-“

“iwa-chan, i’m-“

they both paused for a moment before bursting into laughter, the sound carrying into the hall and throughout the house.

hajime wiped a few stray tears from his eyes, shaking his head at their awkwardness. “you first, shittykawa.”

toorū gasped in halfhearted mock offense before quickly sobering up, training iwaizumi with a completely serious look. “i’m sorry and before you go on some bullshit, self sacrificing rant, you’re not the only one to blame for what happened to our friendship.”

he sighed while making his way to iwaizumi’s bed, sitting down gently beside him. “i should’ve known better, okay? i shouldn’t have let my jealousy and insecurities get in between us but i guess i got swept up in the attention, yknow? meiko is actually charming when she wants to be.”

iwaizumi nodded in agreement, knowing all too well how compelling meiko could be. the room fell into a more comfortable silence as both boys escaped into their thoughts, questions about the future of their friendship flitting throughout their minds.

“oh!” oikawa was pulled out of his own head at hajime’s exclamation, his eyes moving to observe his friend dig through his pockets to procure a thick white envelope. “here. i’d like you to give this yn.”

all toorū could do was nod, his brain short circuiting at the sight of iwaizumi’s apparent kindness to the woman he tormented for so long. “uh, what’s in it?” he ventured to ask, his soft hands toying with the sealed envelope flap.

a soft chuckle came from across the bed. “don’t be so nosy toorū, just give it to her, yeah?” oikawa rolled his eyes but obliged, the bed creaking as he stood to his feet.

“so... this is it, huh?” it was like the reality of the situation was just now sinking in — they hadn’t been close in a while but iwaizumi was still his best friend and he wasn’t quite ready to let him go.

they’d been through so much together, practically growing up together and now, they’d only see each other on holidays, if even then, and then he’d never be invited to hajime’s wedding as his best man as they’d planned and he also wouldn’t be the coolest uncle/godfather of iwa’s children and—

“fuck no,” hajime scoffed with a bright grin on his face. “thought you were gonna annoy me til the end of time shittykawa. don’t tell me you’re quitting your job now.”

the hidden meaning behind iwaizumi’s words brought tears to oikawa’s eyes and before he could stop himself, he launched his body into iwa’s arms. hajime hesitated, his hands stuttering at toorū’s sides as though he’d forgotten how to hug but the feeling passed, his arms winding around his friend’s lithe waist.

“‘m gonna miss you hajime,” oikawa’s voice came out as a broken whimper, his arms tightening around his shoulders.

iwaizumi hummed instead of responding, too afraid of his voice cracking under the weight of his emotions. they stood there for a moment but the honk of the moving truck outside signaled the both of them of their limited time.

hurriedly, oikawa wiped the tears off his cheeks before waving awkwardly at iwaizumi as he left the room with a friendly, “don’t be a stranger.”

and then he was gone.

toorū finally allowed himself to collapse into sobs on his best friends empty bed, his palms pressing into his eyes as he sat there and just let himself feel.

apparently, he wasn’t crying very quietly because it took only a few moments for you to find him, your soft footsteps alerting him to your presence. oikawa scrambled to wipe away what he knew was an unattractive mixture of tears and snot as you got closer.

you were one of the last people he wanted to see him like this.

“hey,” you whispered, standing a few feet away from him. “um, i know this is probably a bad time but i just wanted to thank you for apologizing? back at the awards show?”

toorū sniffed as he looked up at you with confusion written on his face. “what? you shouldn’t thank me for apologizing. ‘s common courtesy.”

you laughed softly, nodding in agreement. “well, not always. so, thank you.” finished with your piece and not too keen on lingering where you weren’t wanted, you moved towards the door but were swiftly stopped before you got there.

“um, here. it’s from iwa-chan.” you gaped at the thick envelope oikawa was handing you before taking it and opening it, a low curse falling from your lips.

inside the package was a dense wad of cash, more money than you’d seen in months. accompanied with it was a letter, written in beautifully loopy handwriting.

you shut it quickly before oikawa could see, stuffing the envelope deep within your pocket where you could access it alone in the depths of your room.

“do you wanna come eat? last i heard, bokuto and tsumu were doing a cooking competition and i’m sure it’ll be fun to watch.” you were severely thrown off by the money and letter but you were determined to show toorū that you’d accepted his apology and were on your way to making amends.

he gave you a shy nod and trailed behind you to the kitchen, the loud sounds of fire and screaming coming from down the hall. you wanted to focus on the fun and merriment but the envelope was practically burning a hole in your pocket.

later that night, you finally got the chance to open the letter and read it, your former manager’s words bringing tears to your eyes.

i’m probably the last person you expected to hear from. you probably didn’t want to hear from me at all if i’m being honest and i don’t blame you. i know there is nothing i can say that could make up for what i’ve done to you but i’d like to try.

i’m sorry. those words don’t nearly express in and of themselves how truly remorseful i am but they needed to be said. there’s no excuse for how i treated you — not meiko, not my stress, absolutely nothing.

you deserved my common decency and respect and i didn’t give that to you. instead, i abused my position and made your life hell. i’ll never forgive myself for that.

uh, i bet you’re wondering what the money is? i promise i’m not trying to pay you off, it’s just all the money i’ve denied you since you moved here. i have a lot of wrongs to right and this is one of them.

sorry, i’m not very good with words but i just wanted you to know that i’m very sorry for everything that i’ve done. and i’m in no place to make demands or anything but i just wanted to ask if you’d keep an eye on oikawa for me.

he’s strong but he’s also vulnerable. he might be a pain in my ass but he’s my best friend and since i can’t keep him from drowning, i was wondering if you’d do that - not for me but for him.

anyways, this letter is shit but i suppose you get the gist. use the money for whatever you want and if you’re as unselfish as i’ve heard, you don’t owe me anything. you don’t owe me money, kindness, or forgiveness.

his ass would choose the seat farthest away from the court simply bc he didn’t want to be seen and he would make the snarkiest remarks while watching about how they played and you would just be like: .. yea..... 

he’d realize that you’re a little confused abt what’s going on and then go:

“need me to explain anything princess?”

you lean into him and nod a bit, turning your head to smile up at him

his glasses reflect some light but he shifts them so he can look you in the eyes

anyways he rubs circles on the back of your hand with his thumb, explaining to you about the big play that just happened

you would just stare at him and take glances at the game because he was just so admirable

1. alec hardison. light of my life, i think about him all the time. i ranted abt him recently but to recap: his kindness, his GENIUS, the way he can pick up anything in the world like he is so smart i love him, his patience and understanding, just everything about the way he interacts with parker and eliot, everything about the way he interacts with EVERYONE tbh like i watched the double blind job the other day and the way he is with ashley....with trevor... <3333 alec hardison.

2. juno steel! season two of the penumbra podcast is a lifechanging piece of media and the lady himself is so wonderful. he has grown so so much and i am so proud of him like genuinely i think s2 is my favorite character arc in any piece of media that exists. also he is so funny and smart and his friendship with rita is so sweet and i just love him i want him to be happy

3. sam seaborn. now this is a doozy but listen. i just project onto him so sweetly bc we are both perfectionistic writers with a tendency to imprint on our authority figures like baby ducks. also he is gay. also his speech about exploration changed me as a person. i just think he is so wonderful and deserves to be calm and happy and like a california congressman (i feel the need to specify that he is a fictional character from the west wing, a show about a president and his cabinet. i do not stan real politicians. anyways)

4. figueroth faeth..... my GIRL!!! ok this is partially just me being a lil bit in love with emily axford but also she is just soooo important to me. its about the impostor syndrome and about the fear of vulnerability and also about an archdevil and her phoenix librarian girlfriend. im so proud of her genuinely like the way she said i will not blame myself for the bad things that happened to the people i love i will NOT take the easy way out i just <333

i actually got a haircut yesterday before my blackpink concert hehe so now my hair is layered and it goes a little past my shoulders. i didn’t start growing out my hair until late last year since i used to always cut it short (like, a little above my shoulders) so yeah... i used to dye my hair a longgg longggg time ago but now it’s its original color which is dark brown

a solid brown (not totally light, but not too dark) (my mom has really pretty light brown eyes but they didn’t get passed down to me so ahhaha *cries*)

yes, but no (?) i have glasses but i don’t wear them 24/7 since my eyesight isn’t that bad... i only wear them in class when i’m too far away from the board. i have kinda circular, brown glasses (lmao, i know no one asked but...)

(15) favorite movie? 

forrest gump !!! (and also, did anyone see the two bts movies? i watched both of them at cgv and i literally exploded when i saw the members... okay, moving on (sorry... i get off topic really easily)) 

(16) favorite books? 

i read a book called “pachinko” by min jin lee over the summer and it was so! freaking! good!!! i highly recommend it everyone~ it’s a historical fiction novel about 3-4 generations of this korean family who lived in korea and then moved to japan. it takes place a little before the korean war and it talks about the discrimination that koreans faced in japan at the time. i recently went to the library to check it out since i wanted to read it again but they didn’t have an english copy of the book so i’m reading it in korean at the moment. 

(17) favorite pastime? 

rewatching and rewatching and rewatching bangtan. oh, and streaming their new album ;) oh, and stressing over the new test questions on the fan cafe that the staff upload every week (i need to level up but the test is so hard... i cry every time) 

and writing for this blog! i originally made this blog to de-stress and write some scenarios and reactions and i didn’t know that people would actually like them and respond to them,,, so hey, thank you :) you make me happy every day

yes. too many to count. but i’m not gonna sit here and list them all lol

ahhh finally... the question i’ve been waiting for... so if you get to know me, i really really really reallyyyyy love traveling and i’m so grateful for all the opportunities i’ve been given to travel at such a young age. 

so, let me just list all the places i’ve been to (an i know not all of these are countries, or out of the us, but just hear me out,,, okay?) : france, italy, south korea, mexico, us (hawaii, nevada, utah, etc (lol, i can’t remember all of them)) 

my favorite location out of all of these places is definitely italy <3 (italy has my heart)... i stayed at rome and i also visited pompeii and positano (which were absolutely stunning and beautiful). i went to rome last spring (around april/may) and i personally, really love sightseeing and history and since rome is full of those two things i reallyyy enjoyed it there. oh, and don’t even get me started with the food <3333 

i also really loved france... i stayed at paris and my favorite thing about paris was definitely the louvre museum (once again, i love art history) as well as this place called montmarte (ahh! it’s so pretty) 

and last but not least, (as much as i love love loveee south korea) i really enjoyed mexico! i love calming, relaxing vacation spots so i got to go to cancun (twice!) and snorkel and swim and see little fishies in the clear turquoise ocean... yeah, i miss it there... :(

The last part is just a cheesy thank you to seventeen, which you don’t have to read if you don’t want to (and i couldn’t put it under a read more, sorry) -- this is kinda something I don’t want people to see but I also do because it needs to be said and I want to show people how wonderful seventeen is

so halfway through the year i found out about seventeen. i’d never stanned a kpop group before and i never really wanted to, just because of the emotional toll it would take on me. but seventeen pretty much said ‘nuh uh, coming through’ and... yeah... and i’m so grateful for that :’)

discovering seventeen this year has helped me a lot. these boys just radiate happiness and love, and you can’t not feel it. i’m a really (negative) emotional person, so if i get one whiff of sadness or anger, either from others or myself, i fall into this dark hole of negative emotions, which i usually just wait out. but now, whenever i’m in that dark hole, i can watch some seventeen videos or listen to their music and my heart will feel a bit lighter. i mostly watch their dance practices idk why?? maybe because it makes me feel so proud??? oh, also their performances!! which shows how much of an impact their stage presence/energy has. anyway, just watching them do anything really fills me with warmth and all these good emotions that override the bad. even just daydreaming about what it’s like to be part of their lives, surrounded by that bubble of joy and love they create gets me through it :)

they also made me realise that i need to surround myself with people who make me love life. i have a circle of friends but we’re not super close and i used to be fine with that, but learning about these boys and how important they are to each other made me realise that i shouldn’t settle for that. i need a friend that i can tell anything to, to lean on when i need to (and who’ll listen to me talk about seventeen all day). they give me hope that i’ll find friends like that, who i’ll treat like family. they also reinforce my belief that everything happens for a reason. can you imagine if scoups or woozi had debuted before the rest?? or if seungkwan ended up in jyp?? but nope, they all found each other and they adore each other so much while creating AMAZING music, so they give me hope for the future :) 

i wanted to write another paragraph about dk but i’ll just say this: he reminds me of all the good things in the world and he can make me smile like no other 💖💖

so to sum this up, i want to thank the 13 beautiful boys of seventeen for making my 2017 a bit brighter just by being them :)) go and make 2018 your year like you did 2017, but look after yourselves!! i hope you carry this joy for life and love for one another into the new year 💕💓💖❤️💕💞💘💚💛💙💜❤️💕

Lineup Lamentations - GW10

Am rolling my other free transfer again as per.

I spent a while deliberating on which midfielder to punt on in place of Billing until a good pal of mine turned my attention to Kamara's completely fucked spot on my team. First transfer spent on a forward for me this season coming in GW10 is pretty fucked, but here we are. I had enough money in the bank to bump AK up, and Ings feels like an incomparably better pick than any midfield punt around his price. At least he's the danger man and shoots a lot even if most of said shots don't find their way into the netting. Well maybe the side netting, but no FPL points for that.

It improves my depth and overall squad so it seems like a fine move. I'm not in love with Ings but I like him more than Jimenez at this point. He shoots more and I think he's just a better player from what I've seen out of Jimenez so far. I'm not really totally convinced about this move but seems like it could be reasonable. We'll see.

GK:

Alisson Beck goes again. Fantastic pick great job by me one of the few things I've done well this season was sticking him in my GW1 side. Doesn't hit the save point threshold basically ever but the cleans are flowing and having a good GK while not wasting transfers back there has been nice.

DEF:

I'm sticking with Trenty the Trentboy again. I suddenly have reasonable cover on the bench (Jonny) so I didn't want to fuck with him..yet. If he is on the bench again this weekend, though, I think the eye of Sauron (like that Harry Potter reference, Alon?) will firmly be at the wee boy.

Mendy goes again not much to say there. Great guy great pick and very glad I held him.

Irish Spaniel Alves aka Matthew Doherty gets his second run out in my squadron after his obligatory initial blank in my team. He's a good guy and I have faith. Wolves with the poo performance against Watford last weekend but think they will bounce back. I am benching Jonny, for what it's worth. It's a fine fixture, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather start the new striker lad with a nice home fixture rather than double investment on an away clean at the Amex. Might get Jonny in off the bench anyway with Trent and Haz who knows.

MID:

On that note, hopefully the Haz "injury" is just a bit of fuck but we'll see. They didn't make up injuries for him to miss out on previous Europa League games so it might be something. Either way it sounds like the most minor possible injury of life so he obviously goes nowhere from my team.

Dilva finally made good on his absurd underlying stats this past GW with a couple of dimes. Thanks bro. Really easy fixture for City this weekend so hopefully he keeps banging and maintains his hot form.

Mo sticks in the squadron obv. Not much to say about that.

And finally, no neck Frayzuh gets another run out again a shit team where he'll probably blank again. Can't wait.

FWD:

Three up top for the first time this season for my team. Feels just like old times. Kun and Arnie my familiar friends will keep being friends for the time being. Hoping / praying to all fucks that Kun rested midweek means he might actually not get subbed on Monday for the first time of his life. Tbd.

Dings gets Rafa at home. Really don't have a good read on this one. Normally I'd expect it to be just the most stodgy shitfest 0-0ish type game ever but realistically both of these teams desperately needs three points so maybe it won't be the worst thing ever? Probably will still be the worst thing ever and I can assure you I will watch zero minutes and zero seconds of this game.

And Trent off of back to back non-starts... who the fuck knows what goes down here... the rumors are that it’s gonna be the same lineup as UCL midweek and some people (hi Rai and George) are saving their moves until Liverpool lineup is announced roughly 30 seconds before the FPL deadline and maybe that’s a smart thing but I just gotta hope they both start and if they start I expect lots of points. That’s just how it goes. If only I had a good bench to cover my ass :\...

Last two defenders are my double Chelsea in Marcos A. and Daveeeeeed Luiz barely holding onto their spots but alas away Burnley and home Palace are very very good fixtures. Just gotta hope for some attacking points and a lucky clean or cleans. Every Chelsea clean feels lucky. Who knows... Getting rid of Alonso is also the CLASSIC FPL mistake where he’s just gonna finish the season on like 180ish points and be top 2-3 defender no surprises etc etc... we’ll see...

MID:

Same three amigos in midfield going for me in big Mo, big dick Dilv, and eye-test merchant Rachel Maddow Maddo.

FWD:

Kun and Laca going again.

Kun who knows between 45 and 90 minutes.. what would you set the over/under at if you’re a bookmaker? 65 maybe? I’ll bet the under unfortunately... I guess there’s a chance that Spurs keep it close and so Kun stays on but that seems silly to me.

Laca’s purple patch seems to be slowing down to a halt. The underlying stats weren’t ever reeeeeeally there but he’s a fantastic striker so he makes the best of the 2-3 chances he gets. But also Arsenal’s upcoming fixture run is pretty tough so I don’t feel great going forward with Laca. I don’t expect him to return value but that’s just me so he’s looking to be transferred out soon.
