We just celebrated Kotori's birthday last week, and now we celebrate Riko Sakurachi's birthday! I always had some sort of issue cosplaying Riko to be honest despite loving her as a character and her design. Can't express how happy I am that I was to cosplay her properly with this wig! Unlike a lot of my Love Live best girls, Riko was an instant favorite between her hilarity and how she felt like the best of Maki and Umi for me in many ways. Riko's wonderful singing voice, beautiful design (minus those bangs lol), and chemistry with the cast also were also things I've always loved about her. Happy birthday Riko! I wish I did you justice long ago, but better late then never. I am so cosplaying more Riko in the future. perhaps getting a smartphone hadn’t been such a smart decision for yeji after all. at first, it’d been perfect. she could finally keep up with the world around her even when she’s out and about and didn’t everyone nowadays have phones, anyway? she was only moving with the times, albeit a little late. she could text her new friends, watch videos, listen to music— the world was at her fingertips! but as she delved further into mobile games, things started to spiral further out of control than she could quite handle. 

it’d just been silly word games when she first started downloading different apps. she even tried angry birds, having remembered when it was at its peak way back when. she’s never been unfamiliar with trends; being on the internet even if she was hacking has meant she’s always kept up. she just couldn’t indulge in any of them. she always had business to attend to, secrets to hide and escapes to plan. now that she has the free time, an abundance of it, really, she can discover all these popular handheld games. and that includes rhythm games. 

she’s still learning, barely at ‘normal’ difficulty but it’s not a steep curve just yet. for now, she’s just enjoying the songs, the way the game praises her even if she does awfully. she plays it wherever she can, whenever she can, so when her lives are refilled on the bus on her way out of the city, she doesn’t hesitate to pull her phone out and turn the volume up, jumping straight into a song and tapping away at the screen, the rest of the passengers be damned.

KONO RIKO DA. Did you know Riko is my 2nd favorite Aquors girl? I've cosplayed her a few times and I never liked my appearance as her. Was mainly the wig as my previous ones were trash, or just hard to style. Riko has...odd hair I feel, even for Love Live. Then Nico Chuu threw out all my concerns with his work. As always. My lord, how does he do it? We may never know. Onion's work has me amazed once again! I knew Riko would be great here with the Sakura Blossoms. I used them for quite a few photos and with that hair piece (we'll talk about that...), they looked nice. I did Dia in this outfit and uh, I think my expectations were too high for this one. Those stupid thigh highs were awful and wouldn't fit me until I stretched them out and the stripes were sewn on, they mis sized my skirt, you probably see bias tape falling off, and that flower is a joke. It's still a really pretty and comfy outfit, specially for the weather and I would wear it again. I was just...not expecting these issues. Oh well, the only issue I had this weekend I suppose. We start off the year with best girl Dia Kurosawa’s birthday! A refined yet passionate idol, Dia has many traits I love and aspire for. Another shot of this amazing alleyway from Otakon 2018! I knew at Otakon 2017 that I had to do some photos around here, and it looked so wonderful with Dia's outfit. I hope that after things settle down, I can shoot here again with a new cosplay that matches the setting of the alleyawy.
