"How's the replacement looking, Bonestrike?"

The Seeker looked up at the Chief Medical Officer Veerwind, an ambulance grounder themselves, if rather a deep burgundy coloring along their white streaks.

"Well.. Just came off a call with the Lab, their 3D Printer is having some issues. They said they're trying to solve it of course to deliver it by noon, but they aren't confident about the chances. We might have to reschedule Whirl's surgery."

"......Of course. Some luck that is. Have you called any of the other labs?"

"I did! They said they'd start working right away on it as soon as I give them the go for it. I'm giving the guys an hour before I'm giving the task to the other teams."

"Good, Good." The CMO nodded, looking over the coptermech's files. "Has his room been changed after the request of Wildstrike?"

"Yeah! We got him situated two hours ago. It went suprisingly smooth, he's much calmer today."

"Really?" Veerwind peers up over their optical enhancers, somehow doubtful what with the commotion Whirl caused at his arrival.

"Yes, really. I think the painkillers really helped, though him barely talking to us is a bit odd, perhaps he's accepted our help?"

"Maybe, Bonestrike, maybe. Have you organised anything for Whirl after his surgery, a place in rehab?"

"Well, not yet, I mean I thought I would give him a choice instead of deciding whe-"

"You're much too nice, Bonestrike. You've seen his readings, he can't keep off of that primusawful Engex by himself, pits he came here with a tank nearly half full of it! For his own health and safety send him to rehab in Iacon, you know the one where they keep them in the apartmentblocks under surveillance for a few months so they can get over their addiction. Better for him, and for others as well."

"I still think it's a bit too harsh to dec-"

Bonestrike peers over his desk to the corridor.

"Hm. Thought I heard something. Anyway, I don't think it's the best idea given his history to j-"

"That wasn't a suggestion, Bonestrike, that was an order."

"Err.. right. I'll get to it.."

Tag 18: Von Patacona nach Orpesa

Wir kommen erst um 11 Uhr los, da wir noch das Apartment in Ordnung bringen müssen.

Die ersten 20 km geht es den bekannten, gut markierten Eurovelo 8 bis nach Sagunto. Dieses Mal in die richtige Richtung, nach Frankreich.

Dann machen wir auf dem Standstreifen der N-340 Kilometer, bevor wir lange durch Orangenplantagen fahren.

Wir machen einen Umweg über Castello de la Plana,

um dann in Grau an die Küste zu gelangen.

Viele Kilometer fahren wir an der Uferpromenade von Benacassim, rechts der Sandstrand und das Meer, links verwaiste Apartmenthäuser.

Am hügeligen Ende kommen wir auf den Bahntrassenweg Via Verde de la Mer bis Orpesa.

Lange fahren wir durch die touristische Retortenstadt mit riesigen Apartmentblocks zu unserem Campingplatz, den wir um 20 Uhr erreichen. Das Restaurant hat abends geschlossen und so kochen und essen wir eine Suppe.

Da die Etappe flach war und wir meist Rückenwind hatten, sind wir so weit gekommen.
