Sickle cell disease is an inherited disorder. It affects the shape of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body.
Red blood cells are usually round and flexible, so they can move easily through blood vessels. In sickle cell disease, some red blood cells become crescent or sickle-shaped. These cells also become rigid and sticky, restricting the blood flow.

Tobacco consumption is one of the major causes of Cancer. Along with smoking tobacco, chewing it is equally dangerous. However, there are other adverse effects of tobacco consumption as well i.e. environmental degradation. Tobacco is majorly consumed in the form of cigarettes and smoke of the same causes environmental pollution by releasing toxic air pollutants into the atmosphere. The cigarette butts also litter the environment, and the toxic chemicals in the residues seep into soils and waterways, thereby causing soil and water pollution, respectively. This World No Tobacco Day, quit smoking and any other form of tobacco consumption and choose a healthy life for yourself and the environment you live in.
