I have bought Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Trilogy and i just know I'm going to spend 100+ hours in the Orchestra Hall.

Comparing Great Ace Attorney Chronicles to AJ trilogy solely as collections of games, I'm conflicted. AJ has literally more content but different as well.

None of the art or music has commentary to read like TGAAC but the presentation i feel is so much more. Maybe it's the RE engine, idk. I wonder what engine the other games were on?

So bc I'm a big ol nerd, i technically prefer Chronicles because i LOVE further insight into games. But AJ is still an outstanding collection with extra content for all the games. If only any of these collections actually came with ALL previously released DLC (Sengoku Basara costumes and asinine ace attorney cases).

And yeah Im getting into Ace Attorney and I already finished the first game and I'm loving it so far. In Apollo Justice, I've only finished the first trial so I dont know much yet.

I might be able to play the second and third AA games on around Christmas (not yet sure and yes I know I should be finishing the trilogy first before Apollo Justice but I couldn't help myself 😭)

It's official -- Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy is releasing on January 25th, on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Gosh, it's easy to forget the sheer amount of stuff that happens in this trilogy, even compared to Nick's.

With the announcement of the Apollo Justice trilogy coming out next year (even though only one game is his??? Poor Polly 😭) I have been having major AA brainrot again and drew a bunch of old ocs on an aggie!! Here's mine from it, including:

Roxanne (Rox) Weiler, Defense Attorney and resident good girl

Shaw Weiler, police officer turned detective and Roxanne's older brother

Ares O. Lucian, ex-crime boss and currently in jail for the unforseeable future

Brye B. Reese, prosecutor, "parental" figure for the Weiler siblings and sociopathic murderer

HMM well arguably daryan but i dont think he's super unpopular??? i at least know a good handful of ppl who like him :3 and everyone should like him bc he is so cuties and his widdle face. Wait no i have an answer. omg.

jean armstrong. 😭 his character is like ... stereotypical, and outdated, and idk about the original japanese that well, But i know the way they tried to localize him was specifically "cis gay man with a drag persona" and it's just. it's sweet to me!!! :( i don't think he was done offensively or hatefully! not in the localization anyway. it's sweet to me.. i love him. ok? jean armstrong...my best friend. i'm glad they tried. it was 20 years ago im so glad they Tried.

I know there are people who weren't too big a fan of the Apollo Justice trilogy,but I didn't realize some hate it with a burning passion 😭

Like I understand it not being your fav(though personally one my favorites), but hating it so passionately??? I know people don't like the concert trial, mainly for the mechanics which 100% fair, but the story and how different the cases are so interesting.

Phoenix's clients were either completely innocent or completely guilty(in case of Engarde)

Apollo's were guilty of something,but not what they were on trial for. They've broken the law, but not murdered in cold blood.

That and his relationship with Klavier (rather you ship it or not) is pretty sweet, they both have a shared trauma of being manipulated and betrayed by Kristoph. Neither are outwardly aggressive at any point, Klavier genuinely respects Apollo and only really seems to get real upset at the though it comes off more him seeming to think Phoenix is using Apollo until the whole thing clicks with him.

Also Apollo isn't Phoenix 2.0, he has his own personality.

Like Apollo straight punched Phoenix he got so upset, meanwhile we have to stick to our headcannons that Phoenix punch Miles when he came back when he really didn't fgdgd.

Like, again I understand not being a big fan of the game and preferring the trilogy. But hating it so passionately so wierd to me 😭 like some acting like it killed their dog or something fhdgd

your ace attorney posting made me pick it back up, i have the first three games on switch but we have a rule that i can't buy the apollo justice games until i beat the first three. so now i'm slogging through turnabout bigtop so i can go meet athena eventually (i have gotten through the first three games and apollo justice years ago, just not the 3ds games)

So excited that you picked it up, though! The original trilogy is fantastic! I'll be excited to hear when you buy and start the Apollo Justice trilogy as well--

fair warning, the second trilogy has *great* characters, ideas, and vibes, but in some cases they are *not* carried through as well as those in the original trilogy.

Which I suppose makes them more ripe for fanfiction XD
