Start of self care Sunday... Starting with nails, I’ve pushed back my cuticles with @cuccioeurope Callus Softener then used @dr_organic Moroccan Glow Body Polish. This combination of the enzyme and physical scrub gets rid of dry skin and helps to soften cuticles. I do this once a week also using the scrub on my hands too, it’s one of my favourites. After that 2 layers of @orlynailsuk Nailtrition (I managed to thin it out so I didn’t have to throw it out) finished off with @apothakaskincare SOS Recovery Nail and Cuticle Oil & @loccitane_uk_ire Almond Delicious Hands Hand Cream. Bragging moment, please forgive me! I have never been happier with my nails than I am at the moment. They are at a manageable length for me and I haven’t had a split since last November in my tricky ring finger. I’ve made a couple of changes, namely using @orlynailsuk Nailtrition and gently filing the ring finger every week (literally a few swipes of a crystal nail file) and that has so far stopped the splitting. Obviously using tons of oil and handcream is another thing, I have been using @beautykitchen Abysinnian Oil facial oil because I’ve had a large stash of it and didn’t want it to go to waste and it’s great. Another oil I always recommend is Natasha’s @apothakaskincare SOS Nail and Cuticle Oil which is beautiful and in my opinion one of the best in the business. I’ve had a lot of problems with my nails over the last couple of years, a lot of splitting, sometimes right down to the nail bed and it’s been painful. I seem to have found a sweet spot now with the new treatment and the filing routine (just watch now while I jinx myself 😂😂) Nail Envy just doesn’t seem to suit me anymore, weird how things change. Handcare essentials I’m needing in this cold weather: 1️⃣ @apothakaskincare my trusty SOS Recovery Nail and Cuticle Oil - the best. A beautiful formula, I buy mine in bulk! I do of course have the rollerball in my handbag. 2️⃣ @loccitane_uk 25% Shea Butter Hand Balm. I don’t use this so much in the day as it is heavy and I always use it with gloves. A full review will be coming at some point! 3️⃣ @lottaskincare Botanical Beauty Balm. This is so rich and nourishing, you can also use it as a hot cloth cleanser if you want to. I love things that are multi purpose. Day 18 of #skinemmies2017 hosted by our skincare queens @antiagingamber and @morethanjustskin is Oil. This time I haven’t got facial oils which I love but two other types of oil I simply cannot live without. The winner is: ⭐️ @purepotions Bath and Body Emollient Oil! This is my holy grail body oil that helps to keep my eczema under control as it can be. It stops the itching and the flakes, soothing my skin without feeling suffocated and greasy as I can do if I use a lot of heavy body creams/butters.
