After the initial shock wore off from the slight hysteria I was experiencing after coming across that pesky curse, I slowly pieced together that this meeting, though coincidental, would wind up being immortalized among time as one of the greatest connections fate had ever devised.

Your eyepatch did absolutely nothing to take away the abundance of tenderness and intensity in the way that you looked at me. Your forests of scars could not obscure your utter beauty that would reduce me to the silly butterflies of an elementary school crush, nor the sweet crow's feet by your eyes that would send my heart on a tizzy whenever I could have the privilege of earning a laugh from you.

Your composed air bore such a contrast to the whimsical nature of mine. The way you carried yourself didn't make me want to believe someone as extraordinary as you would ever fall in love with someone as chaotic and messy as me.

I thank the stars that the storm proved me wrong and our story unfolded over the course of that week, eventually leading us to where we are now in the mornings that I now arise like any other, and you're already in the kitchen waiting for me

I went to an aquarium on a random Wednesday to seek solace from the prison of my mind I had been chained in for the past five years, not expecting I would walk (or hobble away) with a sprained ankle and the name and object of all my ruminations, my beginning and my end. My soulmate who managed to find me in this lifetime despite my belief that a spectacular love I had once had only come and gone.

That charm in your smile and playfulness in your stunning eyes, a night without any stars that made me yearn to know every single thought that brewed behind them. Your intelligence, your mind, the enriched way you spoke and the way none could be immune to your magic ability to captivate everyone around you with your presence, including me. Everything and all that you are. The beautiful soul who I fell in love with first and the flawed man behind it second.

Your dislike of black beans, your infatuation with cheese that all but sealed my fate I knew was certain even before our first date. When your voice wouldn't leave my eardrums and your name set fire to the sky above my soul that I was convinced would remain void of all light. Update— it is personal so feel free to ignore! The purpose of this is to let everyone know about my future posting speed and the unpredictability of things, along with why I will be slow to reach out in private messages as a result. As well as some rambles about the state of reopening my commissions again.

So I’ll be blunt, life is ass right now.

Some chaotic conflict bs is going on at home with family and between me applying for and getting school stuff sorted out— my art momentum is impacted cause of the resulting stress. Things will get cleared up and hashed out in time, it’s just a chaotic adjustment period.

I will be peckin at the remaining art I owe, and going back over my pricings for commissions ( I’ve been so indecisive with them lately, not sure if I’m overcharging or if I’m still undercharging… ) and attempting to do more of those requests you all sent in to distract myself in the downtimes where I can’t really do much else but wait and see what’s happening. Thank you all for being understanding, with any luck, things will work out and go smoothly and I’ll be back to posting regularly again 🙏💕

california show your teeth by @fireflywitch (T, 8/19, 63k+) - ok this one mayyybe only has background byler but i'm reccing it anyway bc it's one of my FAVORITE regularly updating fics maybe EVER. in early 1985, chief hopper and his average, normal family move from lenora hills, california to hawkins, indiana--the latter of which has had multiple tragedies over the past few years, to which the new chief's family may or may not be linked. LIKE WHATTTT 👀 go read it RN. masterpiece

All Good Dogs by @hellfiremike (T, 1/1, 3.8k) - this one actually made me cry. featuring: an EXCELLENT character study of will byers, a heartfelt examination of canon and what comes after, and chester the dog getting the attention he deserves and never got in canon 😭

kiss me (try to fix it) by birthofv3nus (T, 1/1, 4k) - will has kissed every member of the party except for mike, who is, understandably, taking this news *SO* well and is not jealous about it at *ALL.* but maybe his situation is not quite as dire as he believes it to be....ugh this one was such a fun read, and you know i loveee party dynamics!!

drank my poison all alone by silverluminoqity (T, 1/1, 4k) - mike is going through it, and, though vecna seems to have been vanquished, maybe he's not so completely gone as everyone thinks.... this is an excellent exploration of both mike's guilt as well as his evolution as a character, and how he views himself. super in-character and super good!!

high tide came and brought you in (and i could go on and on) by silverluminoqity (T, 1/1, 8k) - MOTEL FIC MOTEL FIC MOTEL FIC 🥳 or, mike and will have yet another heart to heart, and some things are revealed. this fic is just so completely heartfelt and UGH i was MELTING the ENTIRE TIME, holy SHIT. probably in my top 3 motel fics EVER tbh.

It usually depends on the person whether or not they allow spam liking, but I and a number of authors don’t like spam liking because there’s a chance that it could get us shadowbanned >< the explanation ( as far as i know, and if I’m wrong feel free to correct me ) is because lots of likes that aren’t accompanied by comments/reblogs make tumblr suspicious of bot activity, and causes them to potentially flag your account because of it, taking away your presence on tags & any exposure to your writing until they lift the shadow ban ( which can take some time, and tumblr staff can sometimes be difficult to email about it ><) Shadowbans are so bad and take so long to get resolved that, often, you might see authors entirely moving to whole new blogs because of it.

There have also been several other reasons why some authors don’t allow spam reblogging, but the shadowban issue/reason is one of the most common ones ^^
