Sirene asteroid (1009) observations
Tumblr media
Sagittarius Sirene people appeal to others when they're fulfilling their purpose or having a clear direction in their lives. For example, my cousin has this placement, and she's able to appeal to others when she's so sure about being a dancer, believing that she was made for that, following the direction set by her heart/intuition without questioning it.
I have this placement too, and I think people come to me a lot in search for answers, to understand themselves better since Sagittarius is all about expanding ourselves.
Sirene in the 5th house is about mesmerizing people when you're in the spotlight, being confident and letting yourself shine. Also when performing, so this is a good placement for celebrities. My cousin has this, and she grabs everyone's attention when dancing, plus her personality (5H) is very charismatic.
I also have Sirene in the 5th House, and I'm not so comfortable in the spotlight which to me comes from the Capricorn degree (10°, 22°). This brings delays and challenges when it comes to you expressing or getting used to this alluring energy. You have lessons to learn before you're able to own this energy.
A Leo degree shows that you're confident to use this energy, you were born to be seen and to shine under the spotlight! Guess who has this. Yes, my cousin 💃🏻⭐️ It's worth noting though, that she has insecurities and suffers from anxiety, but she still loves the spotlight and wants to shine.
Libra Sirene attracts people when they show a chill attitude, by wanting to make everyone feel comfortable or included, by using a soft voice and having a great sense of aesthetics. My dad, for example, uses a soft voice when he wants to be polite or liked by others, and shows a super chill attitude with my sister and I's friends. A couple of my girl friends simped for him 😷
My sister has this placement too and she's the type to try and include everyone in the conversation, plus she too softens her voice when being polite or wanting to be liked? She also has a great eye for fashion. And with her friends she appears more chill than how she really is (she's crazy, your honor - in a good way).
Jungkook from BTS has Libra Sirene and his singing voice is very soft compared to what I thought it would sound like at first.
He also has Sirene in the 9th House so he might drawn in more foreign fans than korean. This placement could indicate being alluring when you're open to learn from other cultures or expand your understanding of things. Think about ambiences like college, school, foreing countries.
Scorpio Siren could be appealing when they're intense, reserved, observant, alert. Also, when they're being toxic (controlling or uninterested) or give off that aura of bad boy. For example, one of my exes has this, and he pulled me in with little to no effort, he used to take his time replying to my messages and I waited for him, thinking about what he could be doing and wishing for his attention. 🤢
A high school friend has this placement too, and he had this air or mystery when he actually was doing nothing? He has Scorpio Sun conjunct Sirene, and he wasn't easy to get close to at first. It's like he gave off an air of "I'm on my own, don't bother me", and some girls pinned after him.
Virgo Sirene people are alluring when they keep a humble attitude, lending their attention to you and recognizing they can learn something from anyone. My grandma and two friends (a guy and a girl) sometimes would ask me for advice, to explain something to them or to give them my opinion about something, and as I reply they'd look at me with the utmost attention, not wanting to miss any detail. They look at you recognizing the value of your words and that's so wholesome, it makes you feel heard and appreciated.
Sirene in the 1st House might give a great first impression considering it's the house of beginnings. They might be the person people notice or get curious about first in a group, and nobody knows why; it's unconscious. They also might atract people when they take initiative, which movilizes or motivates others. They seem like they would do good in a leadership position, people would be drawn to listening to them (especially when they're in the energy of the sign their Sirene asteroid falls under).
For example, a Virgo Sirene in the 1st House person might drawn people in by taking iniciative and assuming the role of a leader in a humble way, paying attention to everyone's input and striving to reach their ideal.

Big brother
Masterlist
Prowl's first born, if he could be called like that, is something he tells you about when the idea of having your own finally pops up, he is concise in the matter but there is some kind of strange energy around when he mentions a word about the carrier, which you really want to get into because every ex of his is an acquaintance of yours to this point in the relationship, or even friends in the case of Chromedome (who's own conjunx still sends you codified texts to run away aboard the Lost Light next time they stop by Cybertron), but if Prowl is acting like that it only makes you remember the construticons, who are really nice but also way too bitter with him and still want his head on a plate.
He gives you a name, and it seems to be enough to make both sire and young spark to put a strange face at the mention of it, just as it makes Prowl make a face when you call on to Springer from time to time when he said you weren't overstepping boundaries by calling him near to the day Prowl said he was created, more or less, it still amazes you how they don't even remember most of the time when one's birthday is, but it was in the middle of the war, so it's understandable even when the cultural difference catched you unprepared.
It's not the first time you cross paths with him face to faceplate, but is indeed the first time he talks to you without awkwardness floating around and also the first time he puts a pede on your house, into Prowl's house, no more strange energy since your husband isn't home, not as much as usual at least; from the get go he is totally gentle with you, as always, helping in what he can or in what you need, Prowl isn't near so the help is greatly appreciated when your hands are mostly occupied with your child that looks around and how comical Springer finds the fact he is starting to have a little 'v' forming on his fore helm, Springer had a human friend, he tells you about her, and you can say he misses her in the way he imagines how she would be bewildered if she ever got to see a sparkling while alive, or even knew about it.
As if being called on, the little protoform moves the newly formed pedes against you, blue optics looking at Springer with what you can only describe as curiosity, far from being intimidated at the new bot and, now that you think about it, Springer is the first bot Chainbreaker has seen apart from his sire and the constructicons.
Prowl is overprotective like that, you'll talk to him about it, later.
There some kind of energy between them, you can tell, being not exactly capable of understand what your baby is saying apart from some noises that Springer is hearing with all the attention in the world, you can feel the hairs on the back of your neck standing, most likely CB is trying to communicate in that electronic kind of way most cybertronians do.
Curiosity gets the better of you, inclining just slightly in order to have CB's attention, little optics looking back at you and newly developed servos trying to catch what he can, little mouth doing the same, "What are they saying?"
"Honestly, no idea" one of his digits get a piece of your hair out of Chainbreaker's mouth, avoiding just in time in order to prevent any oral fluid on him, both look at each other with curiosity, Springer has never seen a sparkling this close before, nor is he thinking about having one, he is far too young for that and single, the idea of age difference still gives you headaches.
It gets a little hard but you get CB out of the back carrier and into your arms, only having a few weeks of existence but your child is as big as a human toddler to this point, one that is still looking at the big green mech in front, which makes you ask out loud: "Do you want to hold CB?"
Now, Springer is an autobot commander at such a young age (at least for a Cybertronian), having a complete unit at his disposition and a reputation that has been written by energon of enemies and allies in the worst case scenario, tales of him killing an adversary are told around, dirtying his servos in order to achieve a general goal, in that way it makes you remember of Prowl and how they are indeed alike, they do have some features in common even when Prowl said it doesn't work for cybertronians in the same way it works for humans or tech organics.
But you're so sure they look exactly the same when it comes to carry Chainbreaker, the same full open optics, almost like they were frightened, the cold expression not because they don't care but because they are scared by the mere idea of cradling the little sparkling and probably doing some damage by accident.
Yep, definitely almost the same.
It took you an hour to get Prowl to admit it but you know what is going on with Springer in less time now.
Chainbreaker moves a little, maybe because the way you hold CB under the arms is starting to be a problem, making a sound that you have only heard when the distress is more than what your child can really handle, it's almost a clue for Springer to take the sparkling on his big servos, the feeling of ground to put his pedes is enough to stop the strange sound coming from the little mouth.
"CB likes you", you tell him so when his expression is still hardened by his doubts, maybe he doesn't really know if it's good for him to be near CB, but, even when Prowl will never openly admit it, you really wish for Chainbreaker to have a better relationship with Springer, call it human senses or whatever, the idea of your family as a whole brings you some kind of happiness that you once put as unnecessary while younger.
Springer takes a moment, finally cupping the little sparkling with his servos and giving stability to the little helm with two digits, just like he saw some humans do with their young while being stationed back on earth, you tell him he is a natural and Springer is about to admit he learned it a long time ago just to stop dead on his movements while looking at a corner of the room, one servo cradles Chainbreaker to his chassis and the other takes you out as fast and delicate as he can, putting both of your near his chassis and looking prettified, not hearing when you ask what is wrong only to look at the same direction as him.
"Ay", there is some kind of understanding in your tone while you get free way too easy, he reaches out for you, but how to explain? Has Prowl even said something? Does he even know? Maybe not, because you only hold a cup to catch what has put him in this state, "don't worry, these little things are normal back on earth, no need to be alarmed", you are cheerful while taking the little spider to the human sized green house attached with the living unit, letting it go freely, Springer swears it looks back at you and then at him before disappearing in the foliage of whatever earthling plant you have there, those are way too many coincidences, "must have come with the order of seeds I made before".
You have no idea, Springer decides so while still holding the sparkling that is trying to reach to his autobot badge, trying to grind the little 'v' forming on such a little helm against him.
He'll tell Prowl about it when he gets back, and think deeply about how much he has really changed in the past for it to end like this.
.
The fact that Prowl and Springer share the same Chevron on their fore helms, well, in case of Springer it's part of the structure of his helm just like Tarantulas when he was Mesothulas, it doesn't work that way for cybertronians but it's just perfect when you think about it, obviously Chainbreaker would also have it.

Fav regular show episode?
honest?i think every episode that without mordecai's relationship drama and park gang being cringed are great, especially the first few 1-3 sessions, those are great.but if it has to be a fav i think the return of "The mordecai and rigby's" is good.
it got the set up,conflict, and the plot is kind of fore seeing cuz it's mainly sarcasticing the band culture (is that the right way to phrase it??)and the final twist with them end up in a hospital,it's gold in my eyes, and get to see Benson and mordecai being jerk directly towards each other, bro like couple who has a argument and want to tear the other people apart,i like that.
"the parkie reward" episode is kind of nice,i love the part where Benson talk about how he appreciate the park gang and how rigby straight uo stole a trophy, just because everybody is talking about how Benson should get the reward and how gene has so many so what's the harm in losing one.
i like every episode that Benson's in.(except for the cringy part, well,i mean eh,a little but,eh.

Jess….I feel like the tides are actually turning regarding harry. Reddit used to be so bitchy about him but recently it seems like people are starting to like him again. There were so many people there who were supporting him after that Adam Lambert saying he is not queerbaiting. Most people were kind of supportive when harry won brits, kissed lewis, talked about women not being nominated. Recently there were comments about how underrated hs1 and SOTT actually is(people were also hoping he'd do a full rock album again). The hate and dragging seems to have reduced a lot. I really think most of it was overexposure. Since he is not in their face 24×7 anymore they find it easier to appreciate him.
this is very encouraging to read as someone who started avoiding commentary there like the plague. 😭 i'm SO happy adam said that and lent some much needed perspective to the conversation (real people! can't! queerbait! and everything adam said was true!). harry was clearly very aware of some of that unfounded discussion that was going on when he received his brits, and he addressed it in what i think was the best way he could, and it was thoughtful and gracious. if they're saying hs1/SOTT are underrated, that is true! i do think overexposure (and the, frankly weird, level of hatred he got w/ O) was the cause of a lot of the nastiness, it's a strange part of our culture that when someone is successful and covered a lot, there's this boomerang of backlash, but he's certainly far from the only person it's happened to, and that usually does course correct with time. genuinely i think, apart from people who are just going to hate him to hate him (because those types always exist), that furor will die down and the fondness and appreciation will come back to the fore again. as it should! and through those ups and downs, those of us who see the person and artist he is stick around supporting him and each other, and that always makes a difference. <3

Ritual Foci- what constitutes a ritual?
From the text: The Psychology of Rituals: An Integrative Review and Process-Based Framework by Nicholas M. Hobson, Juliana Schroeder, Jane L. Risen, Dimitris Xygalatas, and Michael Inzlicht...
Traditionally, ritual has been studied from broad sociocultural perspectives, with little consideration of the psychological processes at play. Recently, however, psychologists have begun turning their attention to the study of ritual, uncovering the causal mechanisms driving this universal aspect of human behavior. With growing interest in the psychology of ritual, this article provides an organizing framework to understand recent empirical work from social psychology, cognitive science, anthropology, behavioral economics, and neuroscience. Our framework focuses on three primary regulatory functions of rituals: regulation of (a) emotions, (b) performance goal states, and (c) social connection. We examine the possible mechanisms underlying each function by considering the bottom-up processes that emerge from the physical features of rituals and top-down processes that emerge from the psychological meaning of rituals. Our framework, by appreciating the value of psychological theory, generates novel predictions and enriches our understanding of ritual and human behavior more broadly.
Ritual actions do not produce a practical result on the external world—that is one of the reasons why we call them ritual. But to make this statement is not to say that ritual has no function . . . it gives members of the society confidence, it dispels their anxieties, and it disciplines their social organizations.
—George C. Homans, Anxiety and Ritual, 1941
Rituals pervade human life. Whether through religion, busi- ness, politics, education, athletics, or the military, they are central to the most meaningful traditions and cultural practices around the world. In rituals, the most ordinary of actions and gestures become transformed into symbolic expressions, their meaning reinforced each time they are performed (Van Gennep, 1909).
Gardening for example could be seen as a ritual in my practice as it is done intentionally, it is emotionally soothing and it is an action performed over and over again.
The repeated kneeling and bowing of reli- gious prayer signals commitment to God and provides sol- ace; a team’s pregame ritual of putting equipment on from left-to-right (and not right-to-left) empowers athletes to per- form at their best; and, marriage rites during the wedding ceremony seal the bond between two people. Rituals are a fundamental part of the human experience, and are, there- fore, of interest to researchers who study human behavior across multiple disciplines.
We propose that the study of ritual should no longer be exclusive to anthropologists and cultural ethnographers.
Chapter: The Defining Features of Ritual
Developing a framework for the psychological functions of ritual first requires a clear definition of what does—and does not—constitute a ritual. Definitions of ritual abound in the social sciences (Bell, 1997; Boyer & Liénard, 2006; Humphrey & Laidlaw, 1994), and differ widely depending on their focus (e.g., Bell, 1992, 1997; Collins, 2004; Turner, 1969), resulting in incompatible theoretical approaches (Beattie, 1966). Here, we put forth a definition that we believe is compatible with most prior empirical research and theorizing, but that has the additional advantage of address- ing the individual psychology of ritual.
First, rituals are distinguished by a specific set of physical features pertaining to the characteristic aspects of the indi- vidual actions that compose them, which tend to be structured in rigid, formal, and repetitive ways (Foster, Weigand, & Baines, 2006; Rossano, 2012; Tambiah, 1979). Unlike other behaviors, rituals are typically chunked into units of seg- mented action, which then become sequenced, patterned, and repeated in fixed or bounded ways (Boyer & Liénard, 2006; Nielbo & Sørensen, 2011, 2015).
Habits and rituals differ.
In contrast to habits or routines, which may change each time they are performed, rituals tend to be invariable in their performance (Rappaport, 1999; Smith & Stewart, 2011).
Because of this invariability, rituals typically require a “scrupulous adherence” to rules, whereby sticking exactly to the script is imperative (Dulaney & Fiske, 1994, p. 245).
Day to day life may not include rituals inherently, rituals have to be consciously made.
For example, setting a table to prepare for a meal is typically not considered to be a ritual. The specific placement and ordering of silverware and plate ware is unimportant, just so long as they are arranged on the table in a practical manner for eating. Contrast this with the same behavior of table setting that occurs during religious holidays such as Jewish Passover. The Passover Seder dinner is a lengthy ritual feast involving a table-setting practice—called the Seder table—that requires precise place- ment of certain items that are utilized at exact times over the course of the dinner (in fact, Seder is roughly translated as “order, arrangement”).
This example illustrates how, on ordinary occasions, a mundane behavior may be nonritualistic, but at another time becomes highly ritualized with the addition of certain noninstrumental features.
Ritual as a definition: We define ritual as (a) predefined sequences characterised by rigidity, formal- ity, and repetition that are (b) embedded in a larger system of symbolism and meaning, but (c) contain elements that lack direct instrumental purpose.
Chapter: Ritual’s Regulatory Functions
Despite rituals’ lack of clear instrumental purpose, it is now well known that rituals serve many psychological functions (e.g., Boyer & Liénard, 2006; Watson-Jones & Legare, 2016). Rituals can regulate (a) emotions, (b) performance goal states, and (c) social connection to others.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), in particular, seems to be characterized by frequently engaging in ritual behaviors to ward off anxious and intrusive thoughts (e.g., Mataix-Cols, Rosario-Campos, & Leckman, 2005; Reuven- Magril, Dar, & Liberman, 2008). Other populations under intense stress such as abuse victims (Jacobs, 1989) and pal- liative care patients (Romanoff & Thompson, 2006) often engage in excessive ritualization as well.
Chapter: Emotion Regulation
Multiple bodies of literature suggest that rituals can act as a buffer against the deleterious effects of strong negative emotions. Ritualized behaviors seem particularly likely to emerge under circumstances characterized by negative emotions such as high anxiety, uncertainty, and stress (Celsi, Rose, & Leigh, 1993; Keinan, 1994; Lang, Krátký, Shaver, Jerotijević, & Xygalatas, 2015; Padgett & Jorgenson, 1982).
Chapter: Social Regulation
Rituals shared within religious groups, sports teams, work organizations, and families, are often experienced as social events. Indeed, many scholars have suggested that rituals are ubiquitous because they are central to the functioning of large-scale cooperative groups, forming the basis of contemporary society (Atran & Henrich, 2010; Durkeim, 1915; Irons, 1996; Norenzayan & Shariff, 2008; Rossano, 2012; Watson-Jones & Legare, 2016). The idea of ritual regulating a person’s ability to connect with others has long-standing tradition in anthropology. Ritual is often regarded as a powerful mediating social mechanism that, when done properly, strikes a balance between opposing social and interpersonal forces.

A Multifaceted Journey of Excellence in Education
In the realm of education, the pursuit of excellence is a complex, evolving journey that transcends the traditional boundaries of learning. It is a narrative not just of academic achievement but of holistic development, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge. This journey, multifaceted and rich in its scope, encompasses the endeavors of educators, students, and institutions worldwide, aiming to foster environments where learning thrives in all its dimensions.
The Foundation of Excellence
At its core, excellence in education is grounded in the quality of teaching and learning. It is about creating curricula that are not only rigorous and comprehensive but also adaptive to the changing demands of the world. A curriculum that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills prepares students not just for exams but for life. This foundation is further strengthened by educators who are not merely conveyors of knowledge but mentors, guides, and lifelong learners themselves. Their commitment to personal and professional growth creates a ripple effect, inspiring students to pursue their paths of excellence.
Beyond the Classroom
However, the journey of excellence in education extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. It encompasses the development of emotional intelligence, resilience, and social skills. Programs that encourage student engagement in sports, arts, and community service complement academic learning by fostering teamwork, empathy, and a sense of responsibility toward society. These experiences are invaluable, shaping students into well-rounded individuals who are equipped to navigate the complexities of the real world.
The Role of Technology
In the digital age, technology plays a pivotal role in this multifaceted journey. Innovative tools and platforms have transformed traditional classrooms, making learning more accessible, interactive, and personalized. From virtual reality experiences that bring historical events to life to AI-driven platforms that adapt to individual learning styles, technology enriches the educational experience, making it more engaging and effective. However, the journey of integrating technology into education is one of balance, ensuring that it enhances rather than detracts from the learning experience.
Equity and Inclusion
A critical aspect of excellence in education is equity and inclusion. This journey is about ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, have access to high-quality education and opportunities to reach their full potential. Initiatives that address disparities in education, such as scholarship programs for underprivileged students and support services for those with disabilities, are vital. They not only promote fairness but also enrich the educational ecosystem by bringing diverse perspectives and talents to the fore.
Global Perspectives
The journey of excellence in education is also characterized by its global dimension. In an interconnected world, understanding and appreciating cultural diversity is paramount. Exchange programs, collaborative international projects, and curricula that emphasize global issues prepare students to thrive in a multicultural environment and contribute positively to the global community.
Lifelong Learning
At its essence, this journey recognizes that education does not end with formal schooling. The pursuit of excellence is a lifelong endeavor, with continuous learning and adaptability being critical to personal and professional success. Adult education programs, online courses, and professional development workshops are a testament to the idea that learning is an ongoing process, offering opportunities for individuals to enhance their skills, explore new interests, and stay relevant in the fast-evolving job market.
The journey of excellence in education is a comprehensive, dynamic process that shapes not only knowledgeable but also compassionate, resilient, and globally-minded individuals. It is a journey that requires the collective effort of educators, students, parents, and policymakers, each playing a crucial role in nurturing environments where excellence in its many facets can flourish. As we look to the future, the challenge and opportunity lie in continuing to innovate, adapt, and expand our understanding of what it means to provide an excellent education. In doing so, we pave the way for future generations to succeed, thrive, and contribute positively to the world. This multifaceted journey of excellence in education is not just about achieving academic milestones; it's about creating a legacy of lifelong learners who are equipped to make a difference in the world.

FROM THE SMALL’S ARCHIVE: MIGUEL ZENON/DOS ALAOS with Camila Cortina Bello, Noam Tanner, and Varun Das, SMALL’S JAZZ CLUB, 2 DECEMBER 2023, 7:30 set
Taking advantage of my discovery that these shows are immediately available on YouTube, I didn’t have to wait for this one to be archived on Small’s Live. While it was relatively easy to be “at” Mezzrow’s last weekend for Billy Drummond with hero Fred Hersch and John Hebert, this run around the corner at Small’s was equally a must see as Miguel Zenon is simply a huge figure in the music.
He has more than sufficient jazz, in a narrow sense that really doesn’t fit the music, chops to be central to the SF Jazz Collective. I saw him/them early in my Jazz St Louis days for a Miles Davis program and streamed him getting very very friendly flak from none other than Lee Konitz for a duo date with Dan Tepfer. He is spending some of that social/artistic capital—and not paying down the principle one iota—with projects that dig deep into the repertoire of Latin American and Caribbean tunes and reconfiguring our conception of that music. The focus is on the melodies and the rhythms, though insistent, are not to the fore.
Building on duo projects with longtime pianist Luis Perdomo (they recorded an album of boleros on a stream from the Village Vanguard that I watched as I did for a stream from Mezzrow’s the night before they went into the studio to record the follow up), he now has this band doing the same thing. Camila Cortina Bello is the pianist and she brings tunes from her native Cuba, especially those of Pablo Milanes. Those complement those of Rafael Hernandez from Zenon’s Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rican and Cuban music differ and there are wonderfully vast variety in those traditions. Throw in the rest of the Caribbean and Latin America (Perdomo is from Venezuela) and throw out the notion that Latin music is one thing. What I appreciate in Zenon is that he goes deeply into these traditions and doesn’t smother them with too much thunderous drums. Varun Das with the whole band can do that and they added that seasoning, but they also used it subtly.
In that sense, this was thoroughly a jazz show, even if jazz is hardly one thing, with virtuoso playing prodded by improvisation and accompaniment. Zenon is a master. Cortina Bello has lots of chops and an elegance that makes these tunes sing. Noam Tanner took his opportunities to complicate the rhythms and the harmonies. Das did both the full Latin flourish but, even better, the same thing with great subtlety.
Miguel Zenon is a force and we benefit from him unearthing this massive cultural legacy.
