Thinking gay stuff about my courier and Arcade again
James just offhandedly mentioning that he likes comic books and Arcade doesn't say anything about it at the time so he figures he probably doesn't find it too interesting, which is fine, they already share a bit in common
But then a few days later when James himself forgot about such a small detail in their conversation he finds Arcade sitting by himself reading comics
Although he doesn't look happy about reading them at first glance, James watches him a bit and notices it's not that he's bored its because he's focused
Like he's reading the page intensely, then examining the pictures, and even turning back to read pages again just in case he overlooked something. And it's not because HE'S interested in the comics, it's because he knows James is and wants to show he genuinely looked into something he enjoys
James would just smile about it to himself and not bring it up because he loves to see that little sparkle of excitement in Arcade's eyes when he gets to show off how much he knows about something

I think Arcade and Benny make for really interesting foils when you aren't just playing gay Barbies with them. Arcade is entirely caught up in the guilt of his past and wears the truth of himself on his sleeve whereas Benny has tried very hard to reinvent himself to become someone that could feasibly control Vegas. We know very little about his past beyond the basics which, yeah obviously, but it also serves to make him feel like someone who doesn't want his past remembered because it does nothing to further his goals. Do you get it? Looking back vs looking forwards, liars with varying degrees of success in it.
