Canon Character Design: Bomarmo
Bomarmo, Borika's husband, was first mentioned in Lesser Evil, the third of the Thrawn: Ascendancy novels. Little is known about him in canon, other than his status as a co-owner of the Ardok Ranch and membership in the Cohbo Family. In Recrimination, Bomarmo (whose full three-part name I have chosen to style as Cohbo'mar'mo) assists his wife with her directorship in the Sky-walker program, often acting as a "sanity check" against the barrages of political and military pressure.
The illustration below was created using @/makowka's Picrew, which can be found here.

[Image ID: An illustration made using Picrew. The subject is an older Chiss man, with wrinkled light blue skin and solid red eyes. His short dark hair is messily styled, and his short beard is slightly unkempt. He wears rounded glasses with a thin frame and has small scars across the bridge of his nose and on the right side of his lower jaw. His expression is kind, with a wide smile showing the gap in his teeth. He wears a tan sweater over a plain blue shirt, as well as a pendant necklace with a leather cord. The background is a yellow square with green-brown starburst patterns. End ID.]

fic: strength of heart (tenderness of the soul), thranto, NSFW, WIP
Rating: Explicit
Relationship: Thrawn/Eli Vanto
Word count: 140,499 words so far (5000-word chapters are posted twice a week, 32 chapters overall)
Warnings: canon-typical violence, angst with a happy ending, mpreg, Thrawn dealing with his traumatic past
Excerpt:
They come to the Seekers' Shadehouse—or the Ardok ranch, as it is listed on the map—the day before the sky-walkers are supposed to be here. It is a long aircar ride from the nearest spaceport. Thrawn notices how Eli marvels at the Ool nature. It is the end of summer here, and the trees are vivid blue and dark purple. Now and then, the aircar passes spike-apple gardens. Ool spike-apples, especially the coral and gold ones, are considered the best in the Ascendancy. Thrawn, however, prefers the smaller, pale pink ones. They are not as sweet, and the juice does not drip on everything around you.
Where spike-apples fall on the ground, they are swallowed up by thick, emerald green grass with occasional purple streaks. The gardens in the aircar window turn into saari fields, oceans of pearly pink. Eli, a man who has seen many worlds and can hardly be surprised by anything, is glued to the window, like a child.
“I have not seen you this excited for a long time,” Thrawn says.
Eli turns to Thrawn, a blush spreading over his cheeks.
“Would be cool to move here, don’t you think?” he asks. “One day. When all this shit is over.”
“I would prefer to stay on Naporar,” Thrawn says. “The Stybla homestead has one of the best schools in the Ascendancy. Larass will go there.”
Eli’s facial heat jumps up, suddenly.
“No, I mean—”
He sighs.
“When we’re both old and cranky and tired of Naporar. I think this is the perfect place for me to be that old Lysatran man with a blaster rifle. Sitting on a porch. Drinking my k’haito.”
Some things, Thrawn notes mentally with amusement, are the same even on those worlds that could not be more different. Porch-sitting, a popular Lysatran pasttime, has almost become a national sport on certain backwater planets of the Ascendancy. The Chiss, competitive as they are, approach it as an endurance test—who can stay in a rocking chair for the longest time.
“When we’re both old,” Eli says, and Thrawn wants to correct, “If we ever grow old.” They are both warriors, first and foremost. Warriors do not die of old age.
Then he reminds himself that he has every reason to strive to achieve that. He wants to grow old with Eli. He also wants to see the man Larass will become.
Eli’s jacket does a good job of hiding the sidearm. Thrawn’s charric is hidden in the same backpack with all the other things that Thrawn packed just in case. A set of particularly loose and soft pajamas. Super-absorbent pads. A water spray. Strong pain inhibitors. Bacta. Disposable underwear. Baby clothes and diapers. One green pacifier.
Anticipating everything is Thrawn’s habit.

Gen Ascendancy sounded so fun, and I wanted to do something for it, but writing was really hard this week so this is pretty much all I've got. I have other ideas floating around, we'll see what happens.
First off, Bomarmo and Che'ri for birdwatching (kinda). (also "Cohbo'mar'molade" isn't mine, that idea is courtesy @/dinjoyer, I just moved the apostrophe)
Che’ri sat down under the tree with a thud. She didn’t want to explain everything to these people, she didn’t want to keep track of her sleep and her food and her nightmares and her everything. She wanted to be back on the Springhawk, she wanted to be back with the crew and back with Thrawn and back flying again.
She winced. But that had gotten them in trouble, so…
She looked out over the field. Same old field, same old packbulls, same same same. She let her head thunk back against the bark instead, and closed her eyes. Maybe she could at least get a nap in before Thalias or Borika came looking for her.
Less than five minutes later, she heard footsteps, and resisted the urge to groan. Not even five minutes? Really?
“I don’t think you’re supposed to be out here alone,” a voice said. Che’ri startled. That was a man’s voice, not Borika or Thalias. She shot to attention, blinking quickly to try and adjust her eyes to see in the bright sunlight.
A sturdy man was standing a few meters away, giving her an amused look. She sighed in relief. She’d seen Borika talking to him sometimes–at least he wasn’t a complete stranger. She’d be in so much trouble if she got seen by a stranger.
But she still didn’t know who he was.
“Who are you?”
He took a couple steps closer as he answered. “Cohbo’mar’molade. Bomarmo. It’s nice to meet you.”
She watched him suspiciously as he continued to approach, stopping just a few feet away. Cohbo. Borika was a Cohbo…
“I’ve seen you talking to Borika sometimes.”
He smiled. “I should hope so, she’s my wife.”
Che’ri blinked. W– Wife? Borika was married?
“…oh.”
He laughed. “That’s alright. She doesn’t exactly share much. I’m the farmer here, that’s where your cover story comes from. Borika helps occasionally, but I’m the one maintaining the farm.”
Ohhh. She… really should’ve figured that someone had to be keeping the packbulls and all the other farm things that made them not look suspicious. Thrawn would’ve noticed.
“Hey now, don’t worry about it. You’ve got much more important things to worry about.” He pulled a face. “And speaking of, what’s got you so wound? You seemed upset.”
Her eyes narrowed. She barely even knew him, he was just some guy–well, he was Borika’s husband… and he clearly knew about the project here if he was the cover story…
“I don’t want to be here.”
He gave her a sad smile, and she scowled.
“Don’t pity me! I’m not a child, I don’t need your–”
“Hey now, calm down. I’m not pitying you, I’m sympathizing. I’ve seen so many of you girls come here, and I know how hard it can be. Not to mention, I’d like to think I know Bo pretty well, and she went through the same things you did.”
Che’ri words died in her mouth at his interruption. She sighed.
He’s not the one I’m mad at…
“Alright, what do you like to do? Obviously I can’t take you off the property, but–”
Che’ri’s eyes widened. “Wait, you aren’t going to go get Borika or Thalias to bring me back??”
He chuckled quietly. “No. You deserve some time off, everyone does. Say, the Grand Migration is supposed to pass over soon–not all of it, Ool’s not on too many of the paths, but there should be a whole lot of guese flying overhead soon. What about you and me go up to the hill, and climb the tree there to watch?”
She stared at him. He… She’d met him not 5 minutes ago, hadn’t even introduced herself, was breaking the rules, and he wanted… to take her birdwatching?
Also, birdwatching?
She made a face, and he laughed. “I know, it’s not the most exciting activity. But these aren’t normal guese, they’re rare. All sorts of fun colours, and there’s sure to be a lot of them. We’ve lived here for years now, and I’ve always loved watching them fly overhead like some kind of rippling river of an abstract painting.”
Painting.
“………okay.”
He grinned, and she couldn’t help but think how she’d barely ever seen a grin like that before. Especially not on an adult, or an adult man. Samakro certainly didn’t grin, and Thrawn barely even smiled. Samakro also didn’t smile much, but that was usually ‘cause he was grumpy.
He offered her a hand up, and tentatively, she took it.
As they started to walk off toward the hill, she fiddled with the edge of her sleeve. “I…” He glanced at her. “I’m Che’ri.”
He smiled again.
“Nice to meet you, Che’ri.”

Canon Character Design: Borika
Cohbo'rik'ardok first appeared in Lesser Evil, the third of the Thrawn: Ascendancy novels, but she was mentioned first in Chaos Rising. With her husband Bomarmo, she co-owns the Ardok Ranch, one of the training locations for the Sky-walker program. As a former Sky-walker herself, Borika has almost no memories of her early childhood, including her younger brother, the officer who would come to be known as Thrawn. In Recrimination, Borika's work to protect her charges continues, although it is increasingly complicated by the awakening of powers she has long suppressed.
The illustration below was created using @/makowka's Picrew, which can be found here.

here’s my favorite lines from each of the fics i’ve written:
My Neighbor the Bendu - “Some of us are able to live long past that.” Mari couldn’t think of any numbers bigger than one hundred.
Family Heirloom - She’d been passed from one family member to another like a family heirloom, and it was just time for her to be inherited by the next in line.
A Familiar Face - “I’ll always come back,” she had told her brother. After so long lost in her own mind, she had finally come back. Now the question was: would Thrawn?
Our Sister - Thrawn would do the same for him, after all. “Very well,” Thrass said after the departing woman. “I will strive to achieve that rank as quickly as possible.”
Open When the Mission is Over - Thrawn would finish up this one final aspect of the mission and defeat the rebels as quickly as possible. Then, he would finally go home.
Her Starday - Borika wished she could go back and tell Rik’ardok “When you belong to a family and have people who love you, star days can actually be wonderful. But in a way, every day will be wonderful, even the bad ones.”
Ex, Why Zi? - “Not to seem too full of ourselves, but we are two of the best tactical minds in the CEDF. And the best plan you could come up with is ‘hide in a bush until she leaves’?” Thrawn asked. Ziara shrugged. “I’m off duty.”
Ool-Tide Greetings - Nightmares were a common occurrence at Ardok Ranch, but on the night before Life Day, they were a rare event. Most of the girls were too tired to have any dreams at all, and those that did only dreamt of large winged creatures flying through the sky.
I am the fire and I am the forest and I am a witness watching it - “May smiling warriors be fortunate or sumthin’”
Well, Better than the Alternative - But she had always been curious, and “why?” was built into her like it was part of her DNA.
I Don't Remember Him - “I see you not just as a brother-in law, but as a brother. But Borika was my family first.”
Oh no Cohbo - “When I was taken from my parents, did my father weep for me? Did my mother put her life in danger to try to find me? Did I have siblings who asked where I went? Was I ever loved like this?”

Since @lilac-vode and @dragonfly-wings1 asked to see it!
Tumblr media
"The ranch house was situated in roughly the center of the fenced land, with the barns, feed storage, and other outbuildings scattered around it. As the skycar made its decent, Thalias caught a glimpse of a small group of buildings nestled alongside a line of trees between the ranch's eastern fence and the lake. That, presumably was the Shadehouse."
(i couldn't move the buildings to the east so it's just stuck on the west, but close enough)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"She found herself in a large, homey great room. In one of the near corners, a pair of couches faced an entertainment center; in the other, another group of couches and individual chairs were arranged in a circle around an open-air firepit topped by a conical vent hood. At the far end of the room were a dining table and six chairs, with a pass-through to a half-seen kitchen beyond. It was if the stories of old-time backwoods ease and comfort had come to life."
and then i made some interpretations, there's a master bedroom and bath for borika and bomarmo, two shared dorm rooms for the sky-walkers, and a communal bathroom (also a bedroom for my oc boniko, who is their daughter).
i said i was going to start being on tumblr a lot but then i redownloaded sims 4 yesterday and did nothing but build ardok ranch based on the specifications given in lesser evil for like 15 hours
