Going back to Zag's romantic relationships from Mel is extremely hilarious to me because of how comparatively well-adjusted he was.
Sure he done fucked up with Meg in the past and they had to kill each other as part of the job description, his sudden leaving seriously hurt Than while also having communication issues w/ each other, and there's the matter of Dusa being a lowly servant of the House. But in the end, he sorted everything out with 0 grievances from all parties involved (that one dialogue where Than admits Meg is the one who tells him to finally pursue Zag seriously warms my heart). Got the Mom(s) Seal of Approval™ even, and from Achilles too!
Meanwhile I look at Melinoë and she has a frankly criminal amount of situationships. Her rizz level is insane and she goes straight for the throat when flirting yet somehow her dating life is simultaneously a mess and nonexistent. Nemesis regularly kicks her into the dirt verbally AND physically but is the only person to acknowledge how fucked up it is that Mel is sent out alone in the hopes of killing an all powerful Titan that took SIX gods to kill in the past. "Fuck you and fuck your stupid frog in particular" then turns around and gives free Death Defiances. Her and Moros try to flirt with each other but they kept missing the mark because sometimes one of them says something totally unhinged like it was normal (I don't think watching people die is an appropriate bathtime conversation topic, my man). Her and Eris are a hot mess—literally with all those rounds she shot at Mel AND without a basis of workplace professionalism. Icarus is one shot nerve away from accidentally proclaiming his undying (literally) love to her but his guilt complex is hanging on to that nerve. And then there's Arachne and her not so little crush warring with the fact that said crush is family with and is helping the gods who cursed her.
Never have I realized how important it is that Zag has become a minor god of relationship counselling until I look at his baby sister and think, "yeah girl you definitely need help for all that shit".

In the first picture Zagreus is shorter than Persephone because he is standing one step below, he is still the youngest member of the family and barely stepping into his role on the house as Prince. He is supperposed with the image of his parents gazing lovingly into each other, he is integrated with his figures but still feels like slightly distanced from them, like a teenager trying to find the way they present themselves. After seeing him the whole game with other clothes it feels weird to see him wearing that tunic and his lance is comically big.
In the second picture he is taller than his mom and almost at the same level as his father, he is being embraced by him but his head points out from Hades's shoulder, he is fully integrated into the family but is also respected and acknowledged by all the gods as the one who reunited them. He mimics the posture of both his mother and father, leaning over Melinoë (bathing in her light) and embracing her with his hand (ready to protect her). His elegant clothes fit him and resemble the style of the Palace, even without his crown you recognise him as a Prince of Hades.
He grew up so much between this games. Probably embraced his role as a protector of the underworld population. Seems comfortable wearing his father clothes, he holds himself with authority, he earned respect in his realm. He became an adult. He loved his little sister, look at how his gazed is fixed on her, his smile might be even bigger than the one on his mother.
Hades looks peaceful and calm, he is probably smiling too. Persephone is wearing a light dress, similar to the ones she wore on the surface, without obligations. She wrapped her daughter with a shawl like the ones she used to wear. They are all dressed without their "royal" outfits. Before being the underworld rulers, they are a family welcoming a baby. They loved Melinoë so much. They would have devoted their lives to her until she was old enough to stand on her own. They would have given her all of the time of the day. They were ready to do things right this time.

being bad at video games is fun because it makes your character a uniquely stupid yet resilient and plucky sort of hero. an underdog no one would ever expect to win. so if you finally do it feels like slightly different and potentially funner version of the story. It’s like look, this idiot FINALLY beat the big bad guy! it took them 900 tries but by Jove they did it! WOOOOOO! GO IDIOT!!! YOU DID IT, BUD 👏 ⁽ᵉᵛᵉⁿᵗᵘᵃˡˡʸ⁾

i don't think you guys understand just how much i need zagreus to be something like the final boss in the game, like, i literally need it to happen on a physical level, it's like an oxygen.
I wont, like, be dissapointed in the game or supergiant if it never happens, but i don't even have words to articulate just how much of a missed opportunity it would be.
chronos implying he "tortured" zagreus and was succesful in breaking him. Melinoe occasionally saying "For my brother" specifically. Gods remembering him in kind word, and even Hades finally being appreciative of him. Cerberus going mad over loss and sorrow, and even in his normal form not letting anyone near himself. Zagreus' chamber specifically not being available in pre-version 1.0
And then-
Melinoe thinking she finally defeated Chronos and now can reconnect with her brother- only to meet him changed, unrecognizable even to his own mother. Him not recongnizing anyone and only knowing hunger for blood.
God of Blood, in his full strenght and glory. Us, players, who have known him since he was just a guy, with quick toungue and good heart, only yet-to-be-god. God of Blood, now mad with pain and mourning he does not remember the source of, the last stronghold of the mess Chronos left, the one that won't fall, slaughtering anyone crossing his path. Melinoe trying again and again, reaching out to him, unsecceful, each time. Some people around her saying there's no bringing him back, and he must be oblitirated. Her refusal. She will get to him. He'll come back to them. She'll bring him back. For her brother

Do you think when Zagreus finally meets Mel he's going to feel the same way Persephone did when she met Zag

ZAGREUS WAS TAKEN TOO SO I really want to know where Than and Meg are. How are they doing. They are both very professional and dedicated to their work so I don't think they'd neglect their duties even in these circumstances but they WOULD still do whatever is in their power to help. Where are they.... Part of me is glad we weren't shown yet I admit, I want to find out when I play
Gimme some angst but happy ending pretty please?
Edit just in case: please powerful bisexuals don't spoil me I can't play early access thank u
