HM Armed Forces Veteran Card: A New Era of Support The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, has officially unveiled the HM Armed Forces Veteran Card. This initiative is a significant step towards enhancing the support network for the UK's veteran community, facilitating easier access to a variety of services and recognitions.   Defence Minister Andrew Murrison: A Commitment to Veterans Defence Minister Andrew Murrison heralded the launch as a pivotal moment for the veteran community. The introduction of the Veteran Card aims to ensure that every veteran can effortlessly confirm their status and avail the support and acknowledgment they rightfully deserve.   Streamlining Access to Services The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has meticulously designed the Veteran Card service to offer a seamless and secure process for veterans to verify their status. By partnering with the Government Digital Service One Login team, the MOD has engaged with thousands of veterans to develop a system that accurately and efficiently processes card applications.   Veteran Card Application: How It Works Veterans who served before December 2018 can now apply for their Veteran Card through a newly launched digital application service. This service not only streamlines the verification process but also ensures that veterans receive their cards promptly. A paper-based application option is also available, catering to all preferences.   Veterans’ Affairs Office: Enhancing Support Johnny Mercer, Minister for Veterans Affairs, expressed his dedication to improving the support network available to former service personnel. The Veteran Card is a testament to the nation's gratitude, simplifying access to essential services such as Veteran Railcards and specialist healthcare.   Recognizing Sacrifice and Service The Veteran Card symbolizes the nation's deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by its armed forces personnel. Moreover, it serves as a tangible acknowledgment of their service, fostering a stronger connection between veterans and the Armed Forces community.   Digital Application Service The digital application service for the Veteran Card is designed to be user-friendly, ensuring that veterans can easily navigate the process. With security and efficiency at its core, the service aims to accommodate the large volume of applications, ensuring that every veteran can access their card without delay. The verification process for veteran status has been significantly simplified with the introduction of the Veteran Card. This initiative not only aids veterans in accessing services but also plays a crucial role in recognizing their invaluable contribution to the nation.   The Future of Veteran Support The launch of the Veteran Card marks a new chapter in the support offered to the UK's veteran community. Furthermore, with continued enhancements and expansions to the service, the MOD and the Office for Veterans Affairs are committed to ensuring that veterans receive the recognition and support they deserve.   Veteran Card applications: www.gov.uk/veteran-card

Armed Forces Day 2020 Had the privilege to serve with amazing people. Being in the Armed Forces isn’t always pleasant, but it can be challenging, changing and rewarding. Oh, and it can be fun too. Not everyone makes it home from conflict zones, I am one of the lucky ones who did. Thanks for the opportunity to serve; thanks to those still in protecting us, thanks to all the veterans and all the families who support. Cheers to all Armed Forces Personnel past and present. @royalairforceuk @royalmarines @royalnavy @britisharmy #armedforcesday #armedforcesday2020 #royalairforce #royalairforceuk #britisharmy #royalmarines #royalnavy #military #milirarylife #armedforces #armedforcescommunity #raf #noordinarylives #stayhomesavelives #aeroplanes #ships #tanks #militaryfamily #armedforcesweek #aircraft #airlandandsea #lucky #gratitude #inthistogether #staysafe #seetheworld #career #militarycareer #differentlife #saluteourforces https://www.instagram.com/p/CB8FOr1DF50u6ef15DR8M5C-1G6QdpB89Ae2tk0/?igshid=1xyw62oem6zq7
