"HMM... NEEDS MORE SPRINKLES. AND GLITTER."

"Oh really?" You move slightly so Blue can dump said items into the batter. "So glad I introduced you to edible glitter."

"I KNOW. I FELT SO HORRIBLE WHEN I LEARNED HUMANS COULD NOT CONSUME ORDINARY GLITTER!"

"Monsters really shouldn't eat glitter either," Dream said gently.

"I never minded!" Ink called out from where he was doodling on the couch.

You laughed. "In any case, these cupcakes will be edible for *everyone,* at least."

"YES! AND I HAVE THE CANDY BOWL READY AS WELL!"

"Already? Its barely after lunch!"

"I KNOW! I JUST WANT TO BE READY!"

The cupcakes came out colorful and glittery, but thankfully tasty with your watchful eye keeping anything inedible out and the four of you decorated the cupcakes once they were cooled.

Ink's were incredible, as expected. Dream's were simple, but still pretty. And Blue's reflected his high energy.

Once the kitchen was cleaned up everyone got into their costumes for the evening. At Ink's idea (insistence) Dream was dressed as a cleric, Blue was a knight, Ink was a bard, and you were a mage.

None of you were planning on going out, just staying home and giving out candy and watching Halloween movies. And possibly other friends might stop by, but Ink said it was the principle of the matter. "Its no fun if you don't get to dress up!"

A few hours later Blue and Ink were in a heated "debate" over whether the Corpse Bride or Nightmare Before Christmas was the better Halloween movie.

"BUT EVERYTHING HAPPENS AROUND CHRISTMAS! IT CANT BE A HALLOWEEN MOVIE!"

"Well its not really a Christmas movie," Ink pointed out.

Neither were actually upset so Dream wasn't bothered by their "argument." Neither actually came to a final agreement either, mostly because Ink got distracted.

Heart and Sci had come through at different times for goodies and Heart just had to gush over everyone's costumes and compliment Ink, who was preening for the next hour in pride.

Somehow they managed to keep Ink from eating all the candy before trick or treaters could come. A lot of parents loved the costumes, some asked if any of them played DND or certain fantasy games. A particularly energetic monster child asked if Ink's lyre was real and they were all rewarded with Ink playing and unfairly gorgeous rendition of "Toss a Coin To Your Witcher" because of course everyone kept using your Netflix. (Immortal Guardians should really pay for their own streaming services but oh well.) It seemed Ink was amazing at anything artistic he attempted.

But eventually trick or treating died down for the night and they ran out of movies everyone could agree on to watch. Which led to Ink suggesting they tell scary stories. Ink was way too good at telling scary stories.

... So you somehow ended up with three skeletons in bed with you that night, Ink only because he didn't want to feel left out. Oh well.

so after posting this I have been drawing and character developing, and I think I’ve come up with two characters I really like!

so without further ado, here are Charlie and Angel!

Charlie <3

-He/him

-Transmasc

-Ceteroromantic

-Loves to dress more feminine, likes wearing hair barrettes and bows and skirts and makeup

-Really good at cooking

-Got bullied a lot in high school for being trans and also weird

-The sweetest little guy :)

-Very shy and quiet, doesn’t talk a lot to anyone but Angel

-Cries when a contestant gets kicked off of a reality show

-Really tall. Like really really tall. Probably 6’4 (Is that tall? Idk)

-Went to the Barbie movie dressed as Allan wearing a pastel pink skirt

-Loves bugs

-Wears headphones because he doesn’t like the feeling of earbuds in his ears

-Neurodivergent

-Likes to draw on himself and put stickers and glitter on himself

-Coffee has no effect on him but he still loves to make elaborate frappuccinos because they taste sweet

-Best friend and theyfriend is Angel <3

-They/them

-Genderfluid, but only the nonbinary genders

-Likes to use the nonbinary flag and call themselves nonbinary instead of genderfluid

-Biromantic

-Has a little chalkboard poster that says “Today’s gender is _____” that Charlie got them. They put it up in their college dorm and send a picture to Charlie every day.

-A skilled makeup artist and hairstylist

-Likes to dress and appear scary but is actually really silly

-Is mean to Charlie’s bullies. They’re really scared of Angel, so Charlie got bullied less since Angel moved back.

-Loud and gets in trouble a lot, especially at their old high school.

-Wears platform boots so that they can be as tall as Charlie.

-Went to the Barbie movie dressed in all black and wearing skeleton makeup

-Has a nose ring (I just couldn’t draw it with my chibi style)

-Dances by moving their head back and forth in time to music (peak silly moment)

-Usually has long painted nails

-They pierced their ears and dyed their hair themself when they were a kid because their mom wouldn’t let them get it done professionally

-Loves Charlie’s cooking

-Frequently uses the little analog emojis (like :P, >:D, etc.)

-Best friend and boyfriend is Charlie <3

Of Petals & Blood Chapter 2: Homesick

She couldn’t sleep. Tossing and turning in her bunk, until she finally rolled onto her back to watch the tent flutter with the wind. An anxious pit had opened up inside of her stomach, leaving her feeling shaky and raw. All she wanted to do was go to sleep. But her spinning mind wouldn’t let her. 

This was why she should never be left alone with her own thoughts. 

Homesickness had opened up a pit of sadness in her chest. The longing for her own soft bed, the smell of fresh picked flowers in a vase in the kitchen, or her mother’s soft, soothing humming as she cleaned. What she wouldn’t give for a few hours, a few minutes to just enjoy the comforts of home. 

It wasn’t just the homesickness keeping her awake. There had been an uptick in attacks in the nurses’ quarters over the past few weeks. Every few nights, a woman would get snatched from her bed, dragged away into the thick foliage of the jungle surrounding them to be raped. Most of the time, they let the woman go afterwards, but once, a nurse’s body had been discovered by soldiers the next day, throat cut from ear to ear, leaves piled on top of her in a sad attempt to hide the body.

Their superiors had still not found the ones responsible. 

It was hard not to let bitterness consume her. Here they were, volunteers, coming to help these men in their suffering, save their lives and in many cases literally piece them back together, and this was how they repaid them. With violence and rape. Catcalls and harassment. Unable to sleep out of fear that they would become the next target to get dragged away into the dark abyss of the jungle.

How to Make a Monster Chapter 4: Understanding

Vanessa was bent over the desk, leaning in so close to the brain that they were dissecting that Jonathan was growing nervous that her nose was going to bump into it. Pencil twirling between her fingers, she continued to work on the required sketches that they needed of their work. Generally they had figured out that it was better if she did the majority of the drawings while he did the lab notes. Smart as he was, even Jonathan had to admit that he was hopeless when it came to any sort of artistic endeavors. He probably wouldn’t be able to draw even a simple stick figure if his life depended on it. 

Eyes scanning over the classroom, he blinked, cheeks twitching as he suppressed a smile. Some fool and his partner on the other side of the room had managed to slice their brain up the wrong way, and were attempting to…squish it back together. Seriously. How did these people get into medical school? Probably had some rich family member to help bribe their way in. 

He elbowed Vanessa lightly to get her attention. Glancing upwards, she pushed back a lock of black hair that had fallen free from her bun. Following his gaze to the struggling students across from them, she pressed her fist to her mouth in an attempt to hide her smirk while he openly snickered.

They wrapped up their lab early, as was their routine. Vanessa was shoving her books hastily into her bag. Jonathan was already packed, but hovered by the desk, patiently waiting for her as he had every day since they’d begun studying together outside of class.

His growing fondness for the little raven-haired woman was as much of a surprise to him as it probably was to everyone else. But Vanessa was nice. And smart. He enjoyed her company. And with her striking fair skin, dark eyes and hair, and face full of freckles, she really was very, very pretty. 

Not that he had noticed, or anything.

This is the custom coffin wax melt loaf in one of my best sellers, EMBALMING FLUID that I made for my sweet, Ann (Lor Xalornicus)

I had so much fun creating this piece for Ann. I was SUPER EXCITED when she asked for Embalming Fluid to be done in the coffin style! It's a specialty loaf, takes more wax, more oils, more decor, so it's more expensive. I don't expect a lot of people to really order loaves in this style because of the price ($55), but when you factor in the amount of stuff that goes into this loaf, and labor, the price is justifiable.

I will likely offer the whole THE LITTLE DEATHS COLLECTION to be done in this style as a CUSTOM LOAF ORDER, but it ill also be available in regular sized wax melts on my website.

They'll be available soon, not when I launch though, as I ran out of time and I am going away this week.

I'm so happy with how this came out.
