I alrd gave my opinions on the replacement with the Hound to the Exile before but @/slyfire gave a perfect rundown on this topic! (Read here if you're interested~) Perfectly summed up everything I thought abt it. One of the things I want to highlight from their breakdown is this:

It makes sense because they have an 'uncanny intuition for detecting danger'. That made mereally anticipate what's going to happen when we finally face the Soulless soon...To my surprise, they changed the options for this scene as well and I was excited 'Fight back' is an option, and ofc I chose it, eager to see what would happen but the result wasn't so pretty💀

Nope, I didn't expect for MC to pull off some sick move to fight the soulless, but what I was hoping for to see them AT LEAST DO SOMETHING or ANYTHING to survive, after all they're 'seasoned survivalist' and 'well-versed in deciphering Soulless'. They also have been taught how to survive in the wild.

So maybe dodging some attacks and do something to distract the soulless before Mhin arrives. But instead they tried to use their curse to purify the soulless temporarily. I mean, yeah cool, would love to see that happen, but at the time, it felt like a bad idea??? and yeah it was hdakdasks

This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for when I picked the Exile origin.. MC doing something that ties back to their background. I KNOOOWW, I know, it is still a demo, but, give us something-- a little bit that shows exile is good enough to be a replacement to the Hound. *sobs*

Also, did i miss anything abt how MC KNEW they could purify soulless? I'm aware I have a memory of a goldfish so maybe there's something that I forgor😔 Please let me know I'm actually curious (><!! I was surprised we got to see them unwrap the bandages, even attempt to try purify the soulless this soon.

Is it just me or does our pristine doctor seems to glow a lot more brighter in this update? Did I accidently turn the brightness up to max?? Because his beauty blinded me for sure, ESPECIALLY HIS EYES!!! I think I'm obsessed...so many pics it's so hard to choose! but something about the 2nd pic gives off softness, purity, innocence and sincerity to me uuuueeegghh and maybe I'm overthinking it bcuz it looks glowy to me🥺🥺🥺 Anw, love the lil ahem ahem...date..we had by the river (ughh the scenery was beautiful😔) I don't remember from previous demo but in this version,Kuras seems much more likely to show that he has a strong interest in the MC. I found myself more and more..dazzled by Kuras this time...I think he's gonna be my 2nd favourite I fear🥺................................ (Leander is behind me isn't he?🧍)

Mhin is more approachable and um less snappy? than before, which I'm happy about (and can't wait for the moment when they can fully trust and feel comfortable with MC😭 I really want to see that happen so bad....) I love we got to see their nerdy side when they analyzing the soulless asjdasj That honestly caught me off guard. And how they show a little smile and get a bit bashful whenever we catch onto something they like🥺

And at last, here we are. Of course I have to leave him for the end. The highlight of this updated demo; our lovely sus man, Leander. What kind of sorcery and flavor did they put into this man. WHY IS HE SO MUCH DIFFERENT THAN THE OLD DEMO?!!!??? He used to be much more tolerable and I- I thought I could fix him, BUT NOW this man is nothing but glaring red in my eyes😭NINONINONINOOOO🚨🚨🚨 the alarm in my head went off when he said this:

At the time, I thought it was just Leander being the haha silly guy he is!! --and then he starts making UwU face and saying things like; 'You don't owe me anything' 'I'll help you all the time' 'You're not believe me?' 🥺👉👈 Yeah it's cute and all but all this makes me...strangely uncomfortable...UNTIL HE LOCKED THE DAMN DOOR. I couldn't help but foolishly screamed for Ais, hoping he would pick me up and comfort me😭

The whole scene in the room; gave me nothing but smth close to claustrophobia. My legs wouldn't stop shaking, I kept biting my nails (afraid to see what would happen next) The whole time I felt trapped. All his sweet words felt some kind of spells in my ears- like MC couldn't do anything but 'Yes' to every word he said... AND THAT MC IS RASVAN DAMMIT AAAAA😭

Dear Leander fans/simps out there, please don't hate me for having this kind of reaction (I was once one of you but now.........) ajsdghasd OVERALL do I hate this big massive changes on Leander? No. Absolutely not, in fact I like it even more. It shows that Leander might potentially be the scariest one among the LIs, despite being human. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what kind of sht he'll pull in the full release.

Before I forget- can I just say how much I love his introduction? It's so much better compared to the old demo (I have more to say to this but brain is giving up on me rn)

And now here come my silly 1am thoughts; it's abt both Ais and Leander...

Since, ofc, we don't know what exactly Leander wants from us-- what if the feelings are genuine? The way he acts, all stuff he says to us, sure, some things might raise a brow.. but- but what if he actually sincere and this is just him wants to have us in his (somewhat) twisted way. WHILE AIS THO, all the stuff that I've been saying how soft he can be is just an act???? What if he’s fooling us, only to throw us away later???? What if the devs want to trick us (<Ais fans)??? Maybe there's some kind of twisted plot twist waiting at the end???----

I told you these are just silly and stupid thoughts, but idk why I decided to deep dive into it💀 Sometimes I like to think worse things that could possibly happen. It's fun to get lost in these thoughts even part of me know it won't likely to happen. But heh WHAT IF am I right? I'm still on abt with the theory and analysis with; Leander is green but is the reddest red flag ever while Ais is red but is greenest, most foresty flag ever. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End ☆☆☆☆

It's so cozy. Despite it being a depiction of the sad part of the passing of time and how different it is for (near) immortals and mortals; how people can affect each other even after decades. Oh yeah, and there's some combat in there.

Dan Da Dan ☆☆☆

Cool, but not my favorite. It's your regular shōnen. Let's be real. The sad story behind the side characters and antagonists gets to me.

Sakamoto Days ☆☆☆☆

I'm digging it. Slice of life vibes, but over the top antics. Even if he wants to live peacefully with his wife and child, his new workers are gonna shenan-again. 🥁

Delicious in Dungeon ☆☆☆☆

Cute. I love it. The humor is just 🍝💋🤌🤌 so seamless and doesn't try too hard.

Ouran High School Host Club ☆☆☆

I FINALLY watched it after centuries. It's aight. In OHSHC's era/style of anime, I prefer Hetalia and Kaichou wa Maid-sama. But you know what, this fanbase deserves its 3rd (or 2nd?) season.

I would marry Miyo myself if I had the same prestige and money as... what's-his-face, the male lead. With the way people in fandom spaces are acting rn, I'm gonna say, you're not a "girls' girl" if you don't understand that not all women process trauma that same exact way. I feel like this series is trying to give me a lowkey existential crisis each time. The Little Red Riding Hood episode was my favorite so far (I'm only on episode 4, the Shoemaker one). A little predictable, because hello "VARIATIONS" it's required to think differently so do that, but the way everything is executed is beautiful and eerie. Charlotte is also so pretty.

That's a lot of work, re: making a whole summary of relevant things, but I 100% get the insanity and overanalyzing, that's my jam. Lucky for you, I'm not totally clueless as the small percentage of people who have deep dived into Pokemon lore. I'm taking about memorized NPC dialogue, flavor text for items, creator interviews, design inspiration and mythology, every bit of side/beta/unreleased/scrapped content, theories and inter-game connections. Yes, I know Amber2 and the Champion's League with their Elite 4 Cup mentioned in the DP anime. I'm just sad about it because what do you MEAN after my old draft outlined the chapters I have to DELAY the Elite 4 challenge until ANOTHER LEAGUE? I named those chapters so specifically as a nice, smooth transition and callback 😭 Granted I guess...it also kind of works. If you have ideas on what it is, how it works, or when it takes place? I might be able to implement it. I don't know if its another League with strong trainers or specifically battling the E4. 1) Ash-Guzma talk, gotcha! I think there's something to be said about how Guzma isn't another meglomaniac Ash had to face, and how the feelings of loss can be understood by Ash...I was just reading your write up on the parallels with Alain and how Ash's Unova self was a set up for his Kalos self. In my rewrite, although the story isn't focused on Ash and friends, I figured I try to give everyone their due anyways, and my biggest grip so far is keeping the anime for what it is and treating it's choices seriously VS altering them. Sure, I COULD disqualify Tobias for using legendaries, I COULD have Ash beat Alain, but...same reason why I can't undo Ash's pity badges. It's a part of his journey. 2) Iris MC arc, good point. There's no reason to off-screen her becoming a Champion. Not sure how I'll do it tbh, and it'll probably extend the time we spend in Unova (I really want to get to Kalos haha) but it could be nice. Mm, maybe I can have Iris meet other dragon masters from the regions...maybe I should rewrite the Plasma arc tbh, I think they changed N's character entirely in the anime? And make up an original episode for when Team Rocket was in Unova (the one that didn't air) and use that to lead to a near permanent shut down? Give Iris key moments there? 3) Real. Anime is kinda misogynistic about the girls. trainer!Lillie, with S/M style Lusamine, yay or nay? I often wonder about which aspects of the game characters to transfer over. Like, I want to bring in Will and Karen too although they don't exist in ani...I was thinking Ash and friends would have a plot similar to Substance R from the Detective Pikachu movie. Pokerus/Mewtwo's Beserk Gene/the forced evolution experiments/mega evolution? trying to get it all reconciled. They'll meet Karen in a similar underground tournament as in the movie I think... 4) Gary-Ash rivalry...they're no Reguri, but might as well give em something. Silph Co takeover, during Mt. Moon some Rocket defects with the fossil Pokemon (after they're revived at the Cinnabar's lab, which like in the game, the technology suspiciously works.) That's how Devon gets their own fossil revival tech we see. Stolen research. Aerodactyl was too wild, so uh, while attempting to use it at Silph (which went so bad the grunt was like "aight imma quit in the chaos.") Gary ends up catching it, and this starts his interest in fossil Pokemon research we see in the anime. 5) I have a gameverse AU too, so trying to find a 2nd origin story for the executives and Team Rocket is the dreaded </3 ignoring the chronicles japanese opening cameo, Silver does not exist. tragic, I love him, but what on earth am I gonna do, I can't repeat the AU storybeats. As funny as the TRio and Silver interactions might be. I guess this is always subject to change, but soooo much emotional investment in characters already exists that I had to keep anime!Bill instead of the other...very sad.

Yeh yeah, the tags weren't targeted at you specifically. it just gets me the amount of people who watched the OG anime as kids and think they know all that there is to know about it. Pokemon youtubers who played the games and start to target anime viewere when very obviously not caring for it get on my neves sometimes orz

And no, no! It's not another league! I'm pretty sure that what the anime calls champions league is actually just the elite four (or rather a name for challenges between trainers on elite four level, like we saw with Flint vs Cynthia sometimes). You don't need to worry about changing your fanfic SORRY!!! I just tend to ramble a lot in tags, don't worry about it 🙏

Oof, I get you. While Pokemon in general is my special interest and I love knowing anything about it, the competitive side of it (the whole IV-EV thing, smogon and showdown) are things I just can't bring myself to care about :V

Ohh, I understand the struggle. While the anime has some fun ideas and themes at times, there's some stuff that just begs to be changed.. I think it would depend on what kind of story you want to tell.

For my AU personally I'm taking what the anime did and kinda fixing the things I disliked while taking advantage of an older Ash and certain themes I want to explore. For instance, I'm having Ash use Primeape while he is traveling alone and focusing more on his pokemon, and that gets him to realize he never tried knowing that monkey at all. Ash traveling alone is something I always wanted but is not something that works in-anime and in a fanfic like that I can explore underated pokemon much easier than just idk, shoving Primeape into the JNs team.

But if you plan on rewriting everything post DP league (if I'm assuming correctly) and perhaps get Ash to age as the story goes, it does makes sense to change some big things as league resuts. Like, there's the joke "he would not say that" when people make characters OOC but is always good to remember "what would cause him to say that?". As in: if things change enough, if you write a story that deviates a lot from canon, then even certain outcomes and character reactions can change.

Like, an Ash that wins in Sinnoh probably won't be as affected by the Unova loss as canon Ash. And that Ash would be much more relaxed at Kalos, etc, etc. I guess it all depends on how you write (and what you want to write more than anything. I can't reiterate this enough, but have fun with those stuff!!)

Ohh, I have been talking to a friend about Unova and Kalos a lot, and one of the recent things was this idea of taking advantage of the fact Unova has more than 8 gyms in-game. Like, if you do want Ash doing gyms there still, I think having Iris do the other gyms that are introduced in BW2 would be an awesome way to start her gym challenges on-screen. We even talked about the concept of Iris and Ash and Cilan all meeting in Striaton gym! With both Iris and Ash going there to challenge him and since that gym has 3 leaders, Iris could get to battle one of the brothers while Ash battled Cilan.

Yes, the Plasma team and N and their connections are very different in the anime. Honestly if I could recomend you to research about anything out of the anime for reference, it would be Plasma Team. The way they're portrayed in the games is very interesting in how they pretend to care for pokemon, telling people that pokemon are better off alone and that holding them in balls/battling with them is abuse! And that's one thing I get very very sad the anime didnt take advantage of.

Ash is a character that would be so easily dissuaded by that kind of talk if done right and would be interesting seeing him questioning himself about that sort of thing SPECIALLY AFTER PAUL!!

And going back to Iris. Have her be more confident in her relation to pokemon because she was raised in a village of dragons, where human and pokemon live as one and let her take the role of main character and prove that Team Plasma are not as good as they pretend to be. Show how her connection with pokemon is that of a champion or something yknow?

SM Lusamine is always a Yay for me ;w; I love love love how she is portrayed in that game ♥ evil bitch of a mother, but so so good story-wise. And makes Lillie becoming a trainer even more meaningful too.

Yeah, I get it. Specially for timeskip stories, is hard to know how to balance Anime and Game characters. I.. don't have a tip for that tbh. If there's no anime equivalent, I tend to go with characters I got attached in-game or that are generally popular in fandom. I mean, if I can get attached to a random NPC from 2 dialogues in the game, then it means they're special right? But usually elite fours that haven't appeared on the anime (nor the manga) are not that memorable at all so Idk what to say about Karen and Will.. But I guess introducing them like that could be interesting. Karen has that kinda "strong pokemon, weak pokemon. it doesnt matter which you choose as long you trust them" quote that would make her interesting if portrayed as someone that is very against pokemon abuse. And if you make Will into a spy (since he has that magician vibe and i guess could be used as an excuse for him to work in TR's game corner undercover or something), it could be fun for them to team up to stop evil orgs like that on their own :V

BRING BACK THAT POKEBALL FROM JOHTO LEAGUE FOR ASH-GARY! I dont know what to do with it, maybe they could take it to someone to fix it and discover it belonged to someone and they both go search for it or whatever. But it was an interesting thing to AshGary that the anime just pulled out of nothing to explain their rivalry and never did anything else with.

Adding to what you already have, I could see Gary maybe taking a "Red role" and going after Team Rocket after getting his ass handed by Giovanni's Mewtwo. Like, I don't think he knew that was "Team Rocket's Giovanni", but adding to your idea and him discovering from one of the grunts that that gym leader was the boss of this evil organization could make him interested in knowing and stopping that guy since he saw how powerful the pokemon he used could be. And then if you plan to have Ash there for the TR endgame, they could meet and team up against Team Rocket and from that learn to respect eachother as equals more!

Oh, that's a whole nother beast I never dared to deal with. I have a special love for pokeani so I'm only focusing on that, so I can't begin to imagine how complicated it must be to balance two universes based off the same thing.. I have no tips on that lol sorry but maybe… seeing how things are handled in different games? I mean red/green, firered/leafgreen and letsgo are all from different universes, so maybe seeing how gamefreak themselves twist things may help with inspiration?

I snuk into this office building though a broken door in the underground garage, wich is publicly accessible. The entire vibe is so sterile and the fact this is after closing makes it a little creepy. The non transparent windows also add to it.

Aight so yesterday Apple finally released their new operating systems for their devices. IOS 17, WatchOS 10, and MacOS Sonoma. What I was most excited about was WatchOS 10 since IOS 17 is mid and I don't own a MacBook. Sorry Apple cultists. (Do I still count as an Apple fanboy though?)

Anyways, the Apple watch desperately needed an OS revamp as it was lacking in comparison to rivals like Samsung. And boy did it not disappoint. So the first thing you'll see is that the side button is binded to the all-new control center which is transparent to your current watch which is a nice touch aesthetically. (In fact most UI elements are actually) You'll also notice that swiping down will open up the all-new smart stack which are widgets you can scroll through to get access to critical information (like your boarding pass and calendar) quicky. And this by far is my favorite feature with this iteration of watchOS. Another big thing you'll notice is that when you press the digital crown your app icons are grouped closer together so you can find your apps easily. I had a problem with WatchOS 9 where I couldn't find a specific app due to how zoomed in the app cluster was but with WatchOS 10 you can scroll through the icons much faster to find the one you're looking for. And lastly, first party apps made by Apple have a much better look and functionality like maps, (which now has terrain, walking distance ratio, and offline download capability) activity, and weather (which functions similarly to the iPhone counterpart now. You can view detailed forecasts such as feel like temperatures, distance visible, UV radiation, and more on an hour to hour basis). And last but not least when you are in an app on your Apple watch the app no longer blacks out top portion of your screen therefore it uses all of your screen size.

If you have an iPhone and want a smart watch then you should really consider getting an Apple watch now. With WatchOS 10 it looks and functions better tan ever before. I would recommend the Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), Series 9, or Ultra (2nd generation since its the same price as the 1st lol) depending on your budget and needs.

aight here's the INFO:

so this guy, we'll call him Jared(40s-50s), was at the resort for close to 2 weeks total. i did what i did in the middle of his 2nd week. the entire first week he was there, he was learning to ski/snowboard. now i work primarily in the Learning Area (i run the conveyors and the gondola), so i saw A LOT of this piece o shit. not once did he, his friends, or his wife ever say or do anything remotely nice to me. i had bruises/cuts on my ankles to my shins from where he repeatedly smacked me with his equipment while getting off the conveyors. with how much he did it, and what he would say to me, it was on purpose. he'd said things like "pfft its [state] what do u expect 😒" when i politely corrected him on my gender, the first time. the next handful of times correcting him, he just ignored me and/or laughed in my face. refused to listen to me about the park rules, would only talk to my white cishet coworkers (YES IK FOR A FACT WHICH OF MY COWORKERS ARE QUEER, AND WHO'S NOT its a small fucking department), and would call me slurs under his breath when he thought i couldn't hear. well, i couldnt hear it, but ive lip read for over a decade, and i definitely know slurs when i read them, especially when theyre said wit such obviously venom. hes poured beer on my sleeves/gloved hands when it was in the negatives outside, because i was collecting his drink (ur not allowed to have alcohol or smoke in the gondola cabins). once, he finished a bar of weed chocolate (we're in a legal state), and then threw the trash on my feet when i asked him to hand it to me. his wife did that wit food wrappers, her half full coffee, and several hand warmers as well. the friends would also throw trash for me to pick up, but they had the decency to not do it directly in front of me. they all thought it was soooooo funny every time😮‍💨 and my job, we're fucking thee front line of customer service at our resort, so im not allowed to actually call this guy out OR really stand up for myself.

eventually id had enough!! id seen him, his friends, and his wife all call me slurs and make fun of my voice and how i acted (like, im a limp wristed, drag wearin ass twink. i have that stereotypical gay lisp, very pronounced too. they stayed makin fun of me all week) and they were being so so so racist (not giving examples on that😐).

the last straw came when he smacked me on the head & in the face (got a cut on my scalp) wit his equipment on the gondola earlier that day, after i told him to be careful cuz i was right there. so the next time i saw him, yeah i wanted to make him feel how he n his made me feel all fucking week. i saw him in his brand new ski suit for the 2nd day, and i just pounced. it was a gotcha type thing, like a "oh y'all're so hateful, treatin me like shit, but u still reppin my colors?" but i cant like actually be rude or shitty to guests so i had to be fake nice about it

and by "a week of hell" i mean he got verbally made fun of for like 3-4 days. and by made fun of, i mean whenever they all saw me they would (playfully, but rough cuz drunken) push him and go "oooooh look he's STILL wearing it😂" and "hahahhaha we should make him give YOU that suit" and, when the wife wasnt there, "lmao maybe he just wants to get with/has a crush you" so like. i was also still bein made fun of at the same time??? just felt better that he was also on my end of it for a while. like y'all he was more than rich enough to have bought a new suit directly after i said that (literally there was a store 500 yards from us), he was just bein a stubborn crotchety old man refusing to "give in to the woke agenda"

as for the "only assuming folks are queer", y'all do know worldwide society at large (specially here in amerikkka) will assume a person is Straight until proven otherwise right? and even then the proofs gotta be indisputable, and even then even then most times it'll still be ignored. so why is it so wrong that i do the opposite? hint: it's not. i dont need huge indisputable proof to believe someone is straight, im not gon ignore when someone says who they are, but im not one to go by the societal norms. to me, everyone is queer until stated otherwise. that guy who couldn't find his gf? was literally watching her live location for the like 3 minutes he and I were talking. its not like we were waiting on a search party or sum🤦🏽calm down. and ykw? the gf was so happy that i said "omg i LOVE y'all's matching bi pride suits🤗", she said they werent bi, but she picked them out cuz she loved the colors, we both agreed that it (the bi flag) looked like a beautiful sunset, like the one we were currently watching. we then gushed over how cute she looked in those colors, and she thanked me for teaching her something new. the only one upset was the bf - that I used they/them for his gf, and that i "insinuated" that he was gay. the "him" was an autocorrect i didnt notice, i only use they/them, or ey/em for folks idk the pronouns for.

nowhere did i insinuate either of these men were queer, i did not and do not out people, and the only reason these people felt "bullied" was because theyre queerphobic and didnt like that i didnt immediately assume they were cishet. so 🤷🏽 sucks to be a bigot tasting they own medicine ig?

okay so i work at a super popular ski resort in the midwest, and most of our clientele are white Straights. im like very obviously a tranny. there was one day that this guy came thru, his snow suit was black with the trans pride flag stripes all over it. he was sat in a gondola cabin with about 5 other men. he came by, and i was in a weird mood ig. i gushed over how "cute" his pride flag snow suit and "omg hun where can i get one🤗" and his friends just started going in on him. it was kinda gross to watch, but idk it felt satisfying? they continued to make fun of him relentlessly for the next 3 days, especially whenever they saw me "yooooo look he's still wearing it🤣how hilarious is that"

im chinese but also not 1st gen / fluent so truly muddling my way through life but. if youre hardcore like me.

okay so i wouldnt recommend any of the replies below if youre starting from scratch. theyre good for once you FIND a name and want to check meaning, but getting random words isnt good at capturing like… actual names, like which words get matched together, what sounds pleasing to chinese speakers, popularity, etc.

its not perfect but id rec using a chinese naming site like Namechef to generate names- this one has eng trans, regional popularity and you can add the surname you want + a character you may like (eg you really want to use 明 but need the rest of the name with it). most sites cater towards 1 surname + 2 first name formats but if theyre from Mainland China, 1+1 2+2 2+1 arent too wild afaik. From there, dictionaries should work well enough character meaning.

If youre extra like me, I like this site. It has further breakdown for fun but it also has 2 lists you might find helpful. the first list of names are names that sound similar- if you find a name you like the sound of but not the meaning, that list can help. the 2nd list are just generally similar names.

general cultural note? unlike english names, things like..ahh im not sure the best phrasing btw this is just what my parents called it. but names have a certain fengshui in and of themselves & relating to the person being named. id say you absolutely dont need to know all the specifics, but that's why its easier to just use chinese naming sites because popular/recommended names tend to naturally trend towards those. parents can always break the mold/pick bad names/etc but you know, the same way braedynne isn't really a typical english name. another thing is that when it comes to just "people like names that sound good", as an english speaker, the tones & different phonetics means its difficult to hear that. hence why i recommend chinese sites- they already suggest names that sound p aight.

as a writer, the one thing i'd keep in mind is that usually families tend to pick names with meaning in mind, more than most anglophone culture. usually its either a trait they like, want specifically in a kid or relates to what their birth fengshui says they are/need to have/lack.
