Coworking Spaces in Europe: Ideal Spots for Work and Travel in 2025

There are some excellent coworking spaces all across Europe where people can share space with other remote workers, meet people who are involved in different projects, and potentially make friends and new colleagues.
What Are Coworking Spaces?
Coworking spaces are essentially hot-desking office environments with high-speed wifi and plentiful power outlets where people can plug in their laptops. They often have extra screens for coders to use as well. They are designed to help people get their work done from a different location to their home or local office and are often used by digital nomads.
Coworking spaces often act as a hub for remote workers to meet other transient workers and to make new friends and they often host events so that people who take out a membership can meet each other socially. They tend to have flexible pricing structures and offer good value for the workers.
There is often free coffee and/or snacks offered as part of the package to use in the coworking space, and this can help to increase productivity and sociability amongst patrons.
The Rise of Coworking Culture Among Digital Nomads
The availability of coworking spaces has been a large contributing factor in enticing digital nomads to certain locations for some time now. The mountain village of Bansko in Bulgaria is a prime example of this. Some enterprising people decided that this off-season ski resort would be the perfect place for a digital nomad paradise in the summer and started Coworking Bansko.
It has been successful to the point that there are now several competing coworking places, including Altspace and Nest Coworking in Bansko, and they are all busy during the summer when the weather is sunny and around 30C most days.
The coworking model is one that appeals to many more sociable digital nomads, and others are happy to just work from a comfortable cafe or apartment while sometimes attending events at the coworking spaces that are open to anyone.
Why Europe Is a Top Destination for Work and Travel
Europe is a great destination for both work and travel because of the sheer range of countries within it. You can go from the white sandy beaches of the Greek islands to the historic beauty of Rome or the chic dining experiences of Paris. You can be clubbing in Ibiza one week and sipping a pint of Guinness in Dublin the next, or watching Barcelona playing football in the Nou Camp stadium.
The variety of landscapes, cultural experiences, culinary adventures, languages and people to meet is unparalleled. That all this is stretched into a single continent with freedom of movement between countries is even more incredible. A Schengen visa will cover the whole of Europe for 90 days out of 180, so you can travel Europe for 3 months on a single visa.
Cost Break Down of Coworking Spaces in Europe
Most Coworking spaces in Europe will offer daily access anywhere from 5 euros per day to 20 euros per day and most monthly passes are somewhere between 150 euros and 300 euros. Most of the independent coworkings are relatively inexpensive but there are some that brand themselves as premium who may ask for more than the prices above.
Top 5 Coworking Spaces in Europe 2025
There are many excellent coworking spaces throughout Europe and our pick for the top five in Europe in 2025 is as follows:
1. AltSpace Bansko, Bulgaria
Although it was not the first of the Coworking spaces in Bansko, it has firmly established itself in the town, with several different locations that digital nomads can choose to work from. They are all stylishly laid out and have an excellent, friendly vibe that is conducive to both making new friends and working productively.
2. Zen Den, Costa Adeje, Tenerife
A strong community focus sees Zen Den in Tenerife take second place. It is both a coworking and a coliving space and has a boutique style, with just 15 hot desks at this location. This means that spaces are at a premium and it is usually essential o book in advance. They offer many perks such as free coffee, water and fruit, as well as a strong events calendar outside of working hours.
3. Volumes Coworking, Paris, France
At Volumes Coworking in Paris, it is more than just your standard coworking setup on offer. There are 3d printers, laser cutters and many different creative tools for those whose work is more artistic and creatively minded in nature. They have 50 spaces for people to work and are very focused on community building as well.
4. 230 Works, Mosta, Malta
At 230 Works, you can use the facilities on offer for a relatively cheap price and this can benefit students and those on a budget more generally. Unlimited coffee, tea, water and snacks are available when you book for one hour or more. There are a range of professional services on offer including meeting rooms, copying and printing of documents and monthly passes are excellent value.
5. Betahaus, Barcelona
Offering high-quality ergonomic chairs and idyllic outdoor spaces, despite being in the heart of the city, Betahaus meets all of your hotdesking needs. They have six terraces and a communal dining room as well as access to community events and wellness activities such as yoga and tai chi. There are 20 videoconferencing rooms that are part of the package and there is also a community directory where you can advertise your services or search for others whose skills would complement your own.
Tips to Find Coworking Spaces in Europe
Many of the best coworking spaces in Europe have excellent social media accounts that draw attention to what they have to offer. If you are active on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc, you should be able to find a good number of European coworkings by just searching for coworking and browsing through the results.
Another excellent way to find out about high-quality coworking experiences is through word of mouth. Speak to your fellow travellers and ask them about the coworking places they have used throughout Europe. This can help you to find good information from people who have been in a similar position to you.
Top Three Countries Offering Nomad-Friendly Policies
Malta is one of the best countries for digital nomads because of the Malta Digital Nomad Visa which offers preferential tax rates. Malta charges 0% tax for the first year of the visa and 10% in the subsequent 4 years, which is one of the best tax settlements anywhere.
Bulgaria can be very tempting for digital nomads who wish to reside in Europe as it has major modern cities such as Sofia and Plovdiv and digital nomad hubs like Bansko while also having a flat rate of 10% tax for people who are tax residents. This makes it an extremely attractive option for European freelancers in particular. The cost of living is also low compared to much of Europe.
Spain is always attractive for digital nomads due to the sheer range offered by the country. A Spanish digital nomad visa allows access to the Canary Islands, a haven of warmth in the Winter months, while still being in the EU, and the Spanish digital nomad visa is popular as a result. They have tax agreements with many countries, so you will not be double-taxed on earnings.
Conclusion
As someone who has tried many coworking spaces that are standalone, as opposed to being attached to a coliving space, I particularly enjoyed Altspace in Bansko, but it lacked the immediacy of living in the Evolve Coliving House and being able to go and work from a well set up office environment whenever the mood struck me. As someone who can be quite impulsive when it comes to my working hours, this definitely suited me better.
FAQs About Coworking Spaces in Europe
Are coworking spaces in Europe expensive?
Coworking spaces in Europe tend to be less expensive if you book for an entire month. This is usually the way to maximise the value per day of use. They are often in the range of 150â300 euros per month and this usually includes unlimited free coffee and some light refreshments as well.
Can I book a coworking space for a day?
Most coworking spaces will allow remote workers to use them for a day as a trial period and then decide whether they want to commit to booking for a longer period, such as a week or a month. Some offer a single-day trial for free, and some offer the chance to use the coworking space for between 10 and 20 euros per day.
Are there coworking spaces open 24/7?
Many coworking spaces are open 24 hours per day as they recognise that not all digital nomads are able or willing to work on a 9â5 schedule. Many remote workers who are temporarily relocating to a different country will either be freelancers who can set their own schedule or workers who will need to conform to their regular schedule, which may vary a couple of hours from the time of the destination country.
What is the average cost of coworking in major European cities?
The average cost for a month of coworking in major European cities seems to be around 200â250 euros. This is pretty reasonable for coworking spaces that can foster productivity and encourage a sense of community between remote workers in the area. Being able to work at places that make it easy to meet others in the same situation is priceless, particularly for new digital nomads.
Do coworking spaces in Europe provide networking events?
Many coworking and coliving spaces organise their own networking events, and they can be perfect for both making new friends and embarking on new business projects with other people who have the skills that complement your own. Being able to meet others in fairly informal networking environments can make it a lot easier to strike up friendships and partnerships that will make both life and business better.

GW-BASIC against the world
Ok, I'll admit up front: GW-BASIC is far from the best language with which to write modern software. GW-BASIC is a non-structured programming language in the purest sense of the term: as long as you confirm to appropriate syntax, and line number everything properly, you can pretty much code a program any way you please. No procedures to follow. No classes, no structures, no functions, and no objects to worry about. And all of the many other things that go along with object-oriented programming (OOP), like polymorphism, inheritance, superclasses, and subclasses, are well beyond the scope of even the most complex GW-BASIC programming toolkit. Which is GW-BASIC's great strength â and, most people would argue, if they've even seen the language in action, its greatest weakness.
But it doesn't matter. In my first book about GW-BASIC, Not Ok, I argued that a full-flowering of creative algorithmic expresseion isn't dependent upon a grab bag of available complex syntactical structures, but rather on how those keywords and routines that actually are accessible by the programmer are creatively arranged. Essentially, it's not what you have but how you use it â and GW-BASIC, in not having that complex array of modern-day programming apparatus, in effect forces the coder to conserve, optimize, and even occasionally resort, to sleight of hand. When it comes to coding in GW-BASIC, I'm less interested in 'propper' programming etiquette (such as it is) and more concerned with ways to producing the program outcomes desired.
My comment on this quote: I agree with most of Mark Jones Lorenzo's thoughts. But to call GW-BASIC a completely unstructured programming language is a bit of an exaggeration. You can also program in a very structured way with GW-BASIC. However, this requires a certain self-discipline when programming : 1. with your own routines (GoSubs) to avoid redundancy, 2. understandable and well-commented source code, 3. clear use of variables and 4. mathematical Functions that are built-in resp. available and self-created. 5. If you only use the GoTo command when it is absolutely necessary, even a GW-BASIC-Program can be quite manageable and easy to understand without generating the notorious spaghetti code with tomato sauce. :)

I finally drew my AU Dendy, along with her alter ego, T.D, whom I drew first. I had this concept for quite a while and it took a Dendy art collab to get me to draw it.
Traditional

While T.D is a turbo form, due to how she came to be, she's more like an alter ego. No real mindscape and no cage. T.D's Dendy, and Dendy's T.D. Think Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
More Info
NAME: Dendy
ALIASES: Den, science baby, nerd, mad scientist (as Turbo Dendy), T.D., Turbo Dendy, kid
SPECIES: Kappa
GENDER: female
AGE: 12
DoB: Unknown
OCCUPATION: student, coder, hacker, scientist, hero
SKILLS: she's able to kinda warp reality via her technology, can type super fast and run just as quickly. She also exhibits super strength and superior jumping abilities. Due to the turbonic energy, she can send out magnetic impulses as well. And she's always watching.
QUIRKS: she tends to adjust her glasses/goggles quite a bit. As T.D, she clasps or rubs her hands together when excited. Children cheer or boo and cry depending on whether she's Dendy or T.D. when she appears, most often when she's needed.
PERSONALITY: Dendy is a very intelligent, kind and helpful girl, though she tends to be insensitive and unaware of people's feelings, particularly when she's experimenting. But she means well and wants to be more open and be better. | T.D, on the other hand, couldn't care less about the notion of friendship and emotion, all too willing to close herself off from that and happily indulges in experiments, seeing people as future subjects for her studies and experiments. She's less kind and helpful, and is more cynical as a whole, but she has a couple soft spots: POW Cards and Kaio himself. She finds him intriguing.
BIO: One day, Dendy wanted to find out more about turbonic energy and how it naturally occurs, with glorbs as her subject. But one of her experiments blew up in her face, literally, leaving her unconscious. When she awoke, she felt a special darkness only she could feel.

A note on fictional jobs
There's a joke that all fanfic characters are either baristas, teachers, lawyers or some denizen of the tattoo/florist au set. This isn't really fully true (there's also witches and vampire hunters!) but for anyone going for a realistic setting, let me at least, as someone who has worked a number of jobs in media, software development and catering, give some pointers on how that stuff works, because dear lord does Hollywood get it wrong.
This post is 2k words, so under the cut it goes.
Journalism/Photography/Media
General tips
This sector seems to be pretty popular in old school comics, and for good reason. Clark Kent gets to go out into the city and be near events. It's a job women are historically allowed to do (and be sassy in) and even Peter Parker gets to just traipse around the city getting into adventures.
It must also be noted that all these characters were developed in the first half of the 20th century, and media has changed a lot since then.
If your character is a journalist, they will work long hours and not be paid *that* much. Carrie Bradshaw is the most unrealistic journalist character in the history of everything. Especially after, oh, 2010 or so, when the traditional press sales really started declining. No journalist is that well paid for that little. And none will have that much free time.
Journalists generally have a beat, and what they do and know heavily depends on that. Your character can get into the gritty streets of downtown chasing drug dealers, or they can go to theatre premieres. They won't do both. The Vast Majority of modern media have beats. A person can be a sports caster and then he will go to sports events to report them. They can be a jetset reporter or restaurant reviewer and go to swanky places. They can be a cultural reporter and be invited to premieres and shows. They can be a dedicated business journalist, reporting on IT, or cardboard logistics, or whatever, and go to conferences around the world. But they will rarely be all these things at once.
How wide this beat is, depends heavily on the 'range' of the medium. Big news rooms, like NYTimes, have a lot of journalists, and some very, Very specialised ones. This is deep dive, spend weeks trailing every leak out of the White House stuff. In contrast, a small regional tv station can have their reporter (with or without a camera man and sound tech) drive around the countryside reporting on pumpkin carving festivals one day, and grisly murder the next.
A lot also depends on the medium. If the character works for a newspaper, they will have a noon to eight shift as a writer, and a two to ten shift, most likely, as an editor, because papers need to get printed overnight. If it's a weekly or a monthly print mag, there will be a few days with relative freedom to do interviews and such, and then a few days of crunch time. If they work for a news website they will have a desk job and most likely work in shifts. TV and radio news people are the ones doing most of the running around to get quotes, but they are also on the tightest of schedules.
Speaking of schedules. Unless the character is a blogger, they won't finish an article and immediately rush it to the printer/publish it. Reputable news sources have, at the very least, a copy editor to check for mistakes and typos. Bigger newspapers and magazines and sites have a dedicated fact checker.
Very VERY few papers in the world have full time photographers on the payroll. If your character is a photographer, they will most likely be a freelancer and do corporate events or weddings on the side (sorry Peter Parker). What happens is, a medium will decide in advance which article or interview will require a picture, and book a photographer for that piece.
Any other pictures tend to come from news agencies. Think Reuters or Associated Press. These sort of agencies do use full time photographers, as well as freelancers who happen to visit an event. They'll take like two hundred picture and sell them to the agency, who distributes them to media all over the world.
Few media have the money for correspondents, so they'll pick only a handful. This means a foreign correspondent has a large area to cover. European news media tend to have one correspondent in the US, covering the Entire US, for instance. American media tend to have more moneys, but if your character is a respondent in, say India, expect them to trek along India a lot, because they're prob the only one in that vast country.
Having said that, coverage, especially war coverage, is super expensive. If they're sending a journo to a war zone, it will absolutely not be a rookie. They will have proven themselves capable, preferably speak the language and they'll be Very Prepared. Think local guides, vast networks of informants etc. A startling amount of war reporters and investigative journalists are also freelance. If they are trekking through a jungle and come across anything exciting, you bet they'll try to sell that story in several angles/versions to different media.
Have you considered:
Bread and Butter Freelancers: It's a gig economy my friends. Freelance writey people don't have a boss and usually work from home or from some coffee shop. If they are to be successful (enough to make a living), they'll still have a beat, and will actually have to be fairly good at this subject. Since these characters make their own shifts, they do have the ability to go out in the middle of the day to do superheroing or witchery or to investigate the disappearance of their best friend. Upsides: Freedom. Downsides: Usually very little money. Unstable hours, like one day nothing and then a week of 14 hour days. The crushing stress of looming deadlines Ă nd job insecurity.
Copywriters: The people that write the text on corporate websites, that fill mail order catalogues with entries for every picture, compose newsletters for various organisations, turn technical instructions into actually mildly readable user manuals. Upside: money. If they're good at it, they will have a fairly stable income. They have the same freedom as freelancers to go flirt with flower shop assistants. Downside: the crushing knowledge that with every piece you write, your soul sinks deeper into the void. Anyone who's ever read clientsfromhell will know what to expect of their clientele.
Lay-outers: The creative side of making media. The bros making the graphs, putting the text to paper, photoshoping the head of Putin onto the body of a baby, whatever. Upside: artist character. This is a slightly more realistic character than the 'painter'. They're creative, but they have yet to sell their soul to the corporate machine (depending on the medium you put them in, of course). Downside: this is basically a desk job with stable hours.
Cameraman, sound technician: the people that hang out with the news reporter and trot all over the region with him/her. Upside: see the world! Without being instantly recognizable. Downside: they're probably stuck in their mission and they rarely have the power to go 'hey, let's investigate over there'.
 Software development
General tips
There's actually a few different environments for software engineers to work.
Start-ups: the hip one. Think Silicon Valley, the upstarts in sneakers and Star Wars t-shirts living on pizza and red bull and basically coding 20 hours a day. Depending on where they are in the growth of their start-up, these people will be nearly alone, or have a team of coworkers. Traditionally, start-ups start with like a founder (or four) and an idea, and some coding. As the company grows they'll hire a sales person to sell this stuff, a marketing manager to brand it, a support person to troubleshoot it, an HR person, etc.
A very Very VERY large part of start-up business is pitching, aka selling your premise to a bunch of venture capitalists and investors. It's Dragon's Den. Literally. Your super shy, autism spectrum character who hates public speaking and who can't even look at another person without blushing would make a super crappy start-up founder by themselves. They will definitely need their bubbly, motivational speaker best friend. On the other hand: this is an amazing environment for that suave, smooth talking character who could sell sand in the desert.
Second environment: corporate. The vast majority of software engineers out there just work for some big company. These are the people building and deploying management system software for banks, installing security in factories, that sort of thing. A lot of the time they're consultants. They wear a suit. They use something called the Waterfall method, which sucks out your soul, or the Agile method, which also sucks out your soul. There's a lot of managing and meeting and progress reports. If they're good enough, they're allowed to leave the tie at home.
Software needs to be tested. You don't just write the code last minute and put it live.
The coders are absolutely not the only people in a software development team. There's the project managers, the designers, the copywriters, the testers, the lawyers, oh god, the lawyers, etc.
Software Needs to be tested. It takes ages. I cannot stress this enough. It usually happens in India or some other Asian country where the wages are lower.
Will a lot of environments, even corporate, allow their creatives to come to work in like⊠jeans and a t-shirt, the only people realistically allowed to actually act like teenagers, in any environment (corporate, start-up, small business), are the ones with skills that are very hard to find. In essence: security experts and specifically white hat hackers. Yes, you're allowed to have a hacker character that acts dumb and comes to work in his pyjamas and it will be realistic that he does not get fired. Your clerk character that's super rude and deals in hurtful quips? Not so much.
SOFTWARE NEEDS TO BE TESTED
 Have you considered:
Researchers: you know those people that made a song that can give Alexa commands without the owner knowing? Those are university researchers. A lot of really cool stuff is being developed not by office workers, but at universities. This includes software. Upside: probably a looser environment, with a lot of young people. Downside: you're basically writing a college AU.
Venture capitalists: in a Silicon Valley environment, this is basically the 'wealthy businessman' stereotype of old. The dragons in the dragon's den, the people that traipse around the city talking to people and assessing the potential of their pitch, before throwing money at them (or not). There's a bunch of paperwork, but they probably have a small army of accountants to handle this.
Evangelists: the cool people that hold TED talks. They usually work for a big tech company, as a specialist, and part of their job is to be a spokesperson. A good example of this is the tech researcher, who has a day job finding nasty hackers or viruses, and who also blogs about that and holds talks and presentations about securing your business. A character like this has the advantage of being a deep tech nerd hacker type. They're rarely the CEO, so they can go deep into the coding, while also travelling places and meeting crowds of press or business people.
Project managers: these don't tend to do the actual coding, but they do, well, the managing. Characters like this will be more social and creative, they're the ones making the reports and presenting their progress to the CEO, and they're the ones troubleshooting when stuff goes wrong. In general, there's a lot of planning involved.
 Bakeries/Catering
General tips
Mass production of food is gruelling. You think you're writing about your sexy pastry chef and how they're carefully, tip of their tongue peeking through their lips, putting a cherry on top of that little moeilleux, but in reality, there's two hundred more to finish on this rack alone and they need to be done in under an hour.
Say it with me, people: baking is a night job. Industrial baking, mom-and-pop rural French bakery, bagel shop, donuts. Someone is going to be making all that stuff before the first customer arrives and that someone is slaving in front of a hot oven at four in the morning.
Any type of catering is a time management business. You know this. You've all watched Great British Bake-off (or, like, Chopped or whatever). If your professional cake maker is only working on one project/wedding at a time, they're not going to be in business for long. Your line chef will be plating up several dishes per minute. Your short order cook is baking six pancakes and scrambling eggs at the exact same time.
Unless it's a very large kitchen, the people that cook are the same ones that clean. And since it's food prep, there is a lot of cleaning.
Have you considered:
Recipe writer: ok so we're kinda back to media but big tv chefs don't make all those recipes themselves. Someone, usually a freelancer, writes them and tests them. Imagine someone getting the request to develop a seasonal cronut recipe that involves peaches and charcoal, because it's hip, and then baking several batches until they find something edible. This is a somewhat realistic environment for your super creative baker to live in a small house and make some money while also working on a book on the side, and falling in love with the quirky ⊠goat⊠herd⊠brewer, florist, whatever.

Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Essence : It used to be super popular in Korea about 4 years ago. It was known for a good brightening essence, but for my understanding, it is also good at calming skin too. Texture is quite watery and it gets absorbed into skin well. My eyes are very round and frog like so this is where the challenge lies. I will a winged out variation on a smokey eye almost every day and make sure I use a dark but not black on the lower waterline and replicate a smokey sunset on the lower eye. With the upper eyes, my right eye look like it has less lid space due to how my eyes open so I have to use slightly different techniques on both eyes to get them looking the same. Hopefully this provides a little more insight into what we do? I may be able to answer more specific questions but what you asked is quite broad. If you are a coder feel free to look at the source code we provide with every build. That should be a resource for self motivated folks curious about what we do.. And at what point do you start ignoring history? Is modern day Britain held accountable to the crimes of the British Empire? Should Americans be held accountable for the slave trades? No, because you humans as a society have progressed past that. Same shit as WWII. There never be another Nazi uprising or rape of Nanjing, and the humans living in those nations should not be scrutinised for the crimes of others who are already dead. Having said that, it not something I would ever wish on on an adult much less a child. You are doing a good thing. I will be happy to share pictures of my children with you. Going to and from work is a pain because I live in Korea, so I take the bus and if I standing, I have to hold on one handed while other people bump into me and squeeze in, because they don notice my splint. Also, just walking anywhere is being on the offensive because the concept of personal space in Korea is not what it is in the states (not judging either, just saying they are very different), so people don think abut pushing past you or bumping into you. I tired from being on the defensive everywhere I go, but also tired of staying in and being bored every day. This was painful to watch. Basically she blames everyone for misconstruing what she said about animals, saying she actually meant that she didn "desire animals" and can have them because of her living situation. She says she not a wicked person because if she saw a suffering animal in the street she wouldn just walk by doing nothing. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game. I have uninstalled the game, restarted my phone and then reinstalled the game. I have also uninstalled the game, reinstalled the ëŹŽìŁŒì¶ì„ì” game, and cleared all game data and safari data and everything else I can think of. You will likely be able to experience the content, but how quickly you get geared from content will require you to play a lot more. If it anything like classic EQ, drop rates on raids can be pretty low. Back in the day, I was a casual raider.

hi, you were/are on feralfront? I was a mod there, like a year or two ago. what's going on now? also what was/is your username on there?
hello! i was on ff for 5 years, so i might remember you! honestly, you've missed probably the worst thing to happen to ff. it's in my "#feralfront discourse" tag, but let me sum it up for you:everyone you knew and loved is probably gone. january, dynamo, the site's coder, decided that it was too expensive to keep the old site format, and moved over servers to another one. this was really confusing, you know, to the KIDS occupying the site, yes? so we were like "uh hey, dynamo this site is ugly now, can't we go back to the old one?" and for no reason these people got banned.so we were like, lol why did they get banned, and those people got banned too. so we knew by now that dynamo wasn't handling our confusion professionally (i.e., with a message like "hey guys im sorry but we don't have the money, ill try my best to do what you want tho"), and taking to banning the people who didn't know what the heck was going on was really weird.so people were just like "well, if dynamo doesn't want us to have our own opinion about the site, we will just leave" so once that started happening, people left, and others started making memes about it. the meme makers were banned. i think some snitch told on someone who was in a Skype groupchat saying "why are people getting banned?" and dynamo banned them with no explanationsome people spammed memes for about 5 - 10 threads before they were banned. some people decided to kiss up to the mods and then ask "how do you, i don't know, become a mod? im just wondering" and those were the people in my screencaps from this morning. one of my sisters asked dynamo in a long pm why he wouldn't just ease the minds of the people who were confused, and he said "this topic is over" so she asked for a ban because he didn't listen to her.someone ( a very good soul who ill leave out the name of, i love him ), mind you a 15 year old CHILD, said "hey guys i live in the same state as dynamo, hahahaha i should go beat him up LOL" and all of his friends laughed. like really, what is a 15 year old gonna do to like a 40 year old man, amirite? well, they proceeded to get death threats in their inbox until they deleted their blog and came out with a public help den apology, and all dynamo said was "don't mind this internet tough guy, he can't hurt me. i should ban you for saying that" and leaving.also, somewhere in here was a 22 year old military freak who said he hoped a 12 year old died or something. like really, what had the site come to? it's all leadership being handled wrong.i, however, am i different story. for a while i had been meaning to quit the site, so my mom and my sisters and i conjured a plan for the sake of all of my friends who were banned for no other reason than having an opinion. i waited about a week and realized that dynamo went to sleep at 3:30am my time zone, and i wrote a very weird dynamo x frostsoul furry fanfiction, and proceeded to spam it across 27 pages of the help den.i am the legend of hell den 3. my username was kid death. i played about 6 leaders in my five years there, and more high positions than even that. as i wrote, for all of the grief that he caused my familyâ and friends, dynamo will never get my apology.feel free to check my feralfront discourse tag ( scroll past the alpha kratt discourse ) and get some fillers, or message me!!

Daddy As well as Sons.
My expert occupation has actually been devoted mainly in IT and Telecom. Months eventually, my papa possessed a cardiac arrest and passed away, as well as I've consistently thought that he was actually therefore upset at exactly what I was actually experiencing he might have quickened a cardiac arrest that might certainly not have actually occurred fairly so early under various other situations. By enforcing a chore/homework rule (along with a time limit for digital entertainment), a dad may certainly not only ensure the jobs get performed and also homework completed (each of which help children when they are actually out on their own), however likewise imparts a feeling of responsibility. Jeffrey Warren Welch, a poet and also article writer known as J. Warren Welch online, submitted on Facebook on Sunday and also traded the stereotyped suggestions from an overprotective dad for an explanation regarding exactly how his daughters will definitely produce their personal regulations.

Had this been my little girl, I wish I would possess utilized this as an understanding experience to show her http://ourwayofhealth.info that indeed, she had miscalculated - a major one - however that she should perform as long as she can to create this straight, and then proceed. That was the ethicality my moms and dads had actually educated me. Prior to you perform the interior youngster job, carrying out the following hypnotic procedures to make a brand-new internal dad and also mommy is handy so your inner child will certainly possess the sources available for interior parenting If you matured with out one moms and dad or even were adopted, perform the interior father and also interior mother process along with a person that was actually a depictive character from that moms and dad: a step moms and dad, a next-door neighbor, educator, or uncle , for instance. Freelancing as an Internet Designer or Designer gives several perks like an assortment from tasks vs. routine job, you possess a lot more freedom with your job routine and also have accessibility to several tax perks vs. normal used web developers and also coders. With the best traits modern technology had delivered us is but another bestfriend whom our team phone the Internet." There is actually but a great deal our team can possibly do and could merely do with the Web.

As an example, the writers inquire such inquiries as, what happens if I do not remember the exact talk when my mommy passed away," or even I don't know what clothing I was actually putting on the day my father left forever." I am regularly removaled through these upright, looking after concerns, because the article writer is attempting incredibly tough to become sincere and also precise, as well as certainly not leave any room to be implicated from dishonesty. Master Maha Vajiralongkorn has actually made that clear to the generals operating the country that he are going to not simply being in the history as an intrinsic token due to the fact that having the throne in December from a daddy handled through Thais as semi-divine. When the winds come, as well as the storms broken, and also they trump upon that residence, our experts always keep religion that our Papa will exist to guide us, as well as supervise us, as well as protect our company, and lead His kids through the darkest from storms in to lighting from a far better day. Kinderman in Lt. Will Poulter on witchcraft and the horror of choose-your-own-adventure game Little Hope
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Having already wetted his genre appetite in horror auteur Ari Asterâs Midsommar last year, British actor Will Poulter is set to give his first video game performance later this autumn. Little Hope acts as the second entry into Supermassive Gamesâ Dark Pictures planned series of anthology tales, following up Man of Medanâs sunken exploits by centring on a group of teens who are quickly forced to navigate and survive the eponymous ghost town.
Pitched primarily as an âinteractive dramaâ blended with survival horror elements, Little Hope again offers players the chance to make multiple decisions that will directly affect and influence the outcome of the story. This is something Poulter already knows a thing or two about, given his participation in 2018âs âchoose-your-own-adventureâ episode of Black Mirror, Bandersnatch, on Netflix.
However, whereas that project saw Poulter portray a geeky and reserved coder, his role as college student Andrew here sees the actor swept up in a more traditional horror scenario â all set against the backdrop of a fictional New England town with a questionable involvement in the 17th century witch trials. Itâs the type of binge-worthy fare youâd expect any TV addict to consume in a weekend.
That said, ahead of Little Hopeâs release later this year on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Poulter shared with us his experience working on the gameâŠÂ Â
How familiar were you with Supermassive Games before you took on the role in Little Hope?
I was aware of Until Dawn and obviously Rami Malek being one of the lead roles in that game, and aware of just how well that was received and the incredible reviews that it got. I was also aware that Little Hope was going to be the second game in the anthology, and that Man of Medan was already in the works.
So I was very, very excited to join such an established and sought-after production team and very, very flattered that they asked me to be involved.
What can you tell us about your character, Andrew? Heâs part of this group of teens, but how does he fit into the group?
Yeah, well, itâs interesting. So the story follows four students, one of whom is actually a mature student. And Ellen Davis plays that character, her name is Angela. Four students and a professor called John. And the five of them are stranded in the little town of Little Hope after their bus crashes on a field trip.
Theyâre tasked with trying to find a way out of there while simultaneously trying to make sense of the strange sort of apparitions and witchcraft that theyâre coming into contact with. And they also discover that there are some even greater threats that theyâre going to contend with down the line.
Little Hope obviously differs from most games in that there are branching story paths and dialogue options. What was it like trying to stay on top of that?
Really lucky in the sense that the team around us, you know, us being the cast were really, really experienced. Nick Bowen, the director, was amazing at making sense of things when I couldnât.
I think if I had any kind of tools that sort of lend themselves well to tackling this task prior to doing it probably would have come in the shape of Bandersnatch, where I did have to entertain sort of multiple narrative strands and have a kind of audience member and an active audience member in mind in terms of accommodating choices into my performance.
Did you find that other cast members could lean on you because of your work on Bandersnatch?
You know what? No, no, I think it was more the other way around. Maybe I had some false advertising strapped on me. I tend to sort of struggle the most with that kind of thing. Iâm not necessarily wired in that way to multitask. But as I say, the director was fantastic. And you know, I think certainly as a cast, we helped each other make sense of it. And, you know, rather like the characters in the game we did find ourselves kind of working together in order to sort of some, yeah, tackle problems.
I can sort of picture these scenarios where youâre all looking around at each other saying, âAre you dead? Am I dead by this point?â
Yeah, literally.
Why do you think New England as a setting and the witch trials is such a scary topic for a game like Little Hope?
Well, I think I think the notion that, you know, people really were trials and charged with witchcraft, you know, during the 17th century in such a kind of extortionate rate as well. And the game is as much inspired by the Salem witchcraft trials as the Andover witchcraft trials and Andover is in the same region, kind of neighbouring Salem, and more people were actually trialled for witchcraft in Andover than they were in Salem. Itâs just not so known.
The gameâs name Little Hope, actually, it comes from a map of the region of New England during the 17th century. I think around the time the game is set, partly in 1692. And there was a Little Hope Meadow. So thatâs whether the game actually gets its name and it kind of just speaks to the fact that the whole creation of the game is kind of predicated on a lot of, you know, research and historical truths, which kind of makes it a little more scary as well.
Do you plan on playing Little Hope upon release? And if so, are you going to do the whole Netflix and binge thing?
I canât wait to play. Itâs out this fall and it can be played on PS4, PC and Xbox. And Iâm really, really excited to give it a go. I think the notion of playing with myself as a computerised character is going to be really kind of strange, but Iâm looking forward to it, nonetheless.
Are you generally a horror games fan?
You know what? I havenât been much of a gamer my whole life. And yeah, I think I probably my sort of only real kind of knowledge of horror is probably film and TV-based.
But yeah, Iâm really intrigued to play this game just primarily because of how cinematic and filmic it is. Iâve seen a lot of the gameplay and I havenât been able to physically play it and itâs kind of incredible actually what weâve been able to achieve.
Is there an element of the story or perhaps an element of your character that you would advise people pay close attention to before they go into the story without giving too much away?
Yeah, sure. I think, obviously, there are sort of different time periods that exist in the game. And part of the mystery and I think the kind of fun there is to be had in playing Little Hope is trying to work out the connection between the characters and across these different time periods. So just be paying careful attention to that and try to work out how theyâre linked.
Little Hope is out this Autumn on PS4, Xbox One and PC

How did you research Mary and Freddieâs relationship? Â
The interesting thing was to look back at the interviews that she has done and to hear her talk about it and to try and get into the mind-set of someone who didn't have the perspective of hindsight. The way that she analysed it now would be different to the Mary I was playing, who was the innocent party in comparison to now. That was my first avenue, and then Brian May and his wife Anita Dobson because Anita spent so much time with Mary when they were travelling with the band and so it was really interesting to talk to her because she was more focussed and picked up more on Mary's idiosyncrasies and mannerisms. For example, Mary was a coder because her father was deaf so at home she would only speak sign language, which, of course, really impacted the way in which she would engage with everyone else. Anita gave me a big insight into that, into how they would engage. Of course, Brian was the person who introduced Freddie to Mary in the first place. He knew them separately as individuals before, so he could really see the impact they had on one another. That was a really beautiful insight to see their very early connection.
Were there any interviews with Freddie that helped?
Well, yes. Mary was the person who got most access to him. Freddie talks in interviews about how Mary was the only person he really trusted in the world and when he was going through something he turned to Mary or he would deal with it himself. The kind of connection that they found very early on was based on this clarity with which they saw one another, which was so rare. The way Brian described it was that these two quite shy people brought out this energy and light in one another and that was a unique thing to witness.
Did you get to spend a lot of time with the four actors as a band, as it were, and what insights did you get into their dynamic?
It was always kind of like that, I guess. When we were all between takes and set ups and hanging out in the green rooms, the energy and chemistry you see between all of them, the banter between them, everything you see on screen was absolutely true to life. As soon as the producers realised that they would just keep rolling to catch the guys interacting with one another. So it was a lot of fun to be around. There was always a good energy.
Are you musical? Â No, not at all. I wish I were. I really am not. Now when you see the skill with which they, or which Queen, play, it seems an unmanageable feat. It would be too daunting.
How has your own relationship with Queen's music changed, if at all?
It has changed a lot because I am aware of the context of all the songs and the lyrics and that has been such a thrilling takeaway from it. Now I am listening to the songs that I loved before but I have such a more coloured understanding of why and how and when those songs came about.
Which songs are in your mind when you say that?
I keep talking about my favourite song, which is Save Me. It is really beautiful and you start to pay attention to the intricacies of the lyrics and how personal and somewhat mournful they are and can be. Â
Do you have a favourite era because they evolved a lot over their lifetime?
I guess the later stuff when they found their sound more and get really playful with it, I enjoy. Then just for the sake of appreciating the people behind it, I love listening to their early stuff. I guess because we are so familiar with the more recent Queen songs that to go further back and discover their younger selves, the people who create all of that, is really wonderful. With the older, less well-known stuff you kind of go into the archives, as it were, and find things that were obviously very intimate. Â
There are wonderful costumes in the film. You must have appreciated them, and Maryâs fine wardrobe in particularâŠÂ
I heard a lot about Biba, their reputation. My mum raved about it to me, about the specific cut of the dresses, which was so iconic and specific to Biba. So to enter that world in a film like this was amazing. And the attention to detail on that set was just breath-taking. As with Live Aid, I was absolutely transported into that store and to be there in the full costume as well, to feel like you fitted into that other time in a cool world was quite remarkable. Â
Was that changing room scene one of your favourites with Rami?
Of course, for Freddie and Mary thatâs where they first found their connection, in that changing room. And there was such an appreciation of the fabrics and the colour and textures of everything. These days everything is about immediacy and convenience while back then there was more time to appreciate everything in your surroundings. Obviously, I donât have a memory of that place but it feels somewhat suspended in time and place. So the fact that he starts to find more of his style there as well is perfect. It captures that indefinable, limbo of a person. It was a case of anything goes inside those walls.Â

Itâs cool that your mum knew that shop. Did she have any pieces from back in the day? Â She doesn't any more otherwise, God, would that stuff be in my wardrobe already! I just remember her talking specifically about the cut of the dresses and the underarm that Barbara Hulanicki designed. So I am trying to find a few pieces like that.
Do you have a favourite piece that Mary wore?
I guess I love that purple coat in the introduction. You put something like that on and you adopt a different kind of confidence and sense of self. It is such a statement piece.
What moments will stick in your mind when you think of the time you spent with Rami?
I suppose one of the biggest takeaways from watching him on set was how much of a leader he was. I have never really seen it to that extent, where he has this huge feat to play that person and yet it is consistently cognisant of everyone elseâs experience. He is very nurturing and wants everyone to be having as good a time as he is. That was a great takeaway.
How much of a transformation was it to see him turn from Rami to Freddie in any given moment?
He did that as Freddie [the above], I suppose, and that's the weird thing, it is only when all the cast got to hang out more â and since I got to know everyone as very much themselves, departed from the film â only then do you see how different he is from that character and from that world. On set there was always just this Freddie energy. It was always that Freddie electricity. Remarkable. Â

Willy Wonka and the Medical Software Factory
If you were a 75 year old CEO of Epic Systems, a $2.7 billion medical software company, would you require that your successor must be an executive who already works for the company, be a software developer, and keep Epic privately held: (1) Yes, (2) No? Why? What are the ethics underlying your decision?
In the farm country of southern Wisconsin, 12 miles from Madison, is one of the nationâs biggest tech companies â and almost certainly the quirkiest. The woman who controls it is a septuagenarian coding savant, its campus contains a human-size rabbit hole and an elevator to hell, and in all probability your personal medical records are on servers running its software.
Epic Systems is a health care services provider with $2.7 billion in annual revenue. Its mathematician chief executive, Judy Faulkner, is a billionaire recluse who hosts P.T. Barnum-esque gatherings for clients. Those clients â big hospitals and health systems around the United States and more than a dozen overseas markets â are served by customer-service representatives known as BFFs. Every month, employees are compelled to gather in a subterranean chamber for two-and-a-half-hour staff meetings that have been likened to a megachurch experience. Workers are discouraged from ordering business materials on Amazon or living more than 45 minutes away from the office, in order to shorten commutes and keep Epicâs wealth in the local economy.
Epicâs software is ubiquitous in doctorsâ offices and operating rooms, and companies like Amazon, Microsoft and Alphabet regularly hoover up its young engineers. Yet most people outside of the Madison environs, Iâd be confident to say, have never heard of the company.
I certainly hadnât. I cover Wall Street, not health care or technology, and when I came across the privately held Epic this year I was consumed with questions. Who was this publicity-shy yet spectacle-loving C.E.O., and how did her theme-park sensibility coexist with the mundanity of health care billing protocols? Was Epicâs odd culture a magnet for talent and clients, or was it an indulgence that kept the company from growing even bigger? In August, I traveled to Wisconsin to see what this 1,100-acre Midwestern behemoth might be hiding.
Cookies and tree houses
When I arrived in Epicâs hometown, Verona, two beaming receptionists at the Fairfield Inn tried to offer me something called the âEpic discount.â When I said I couldnât accept anything of value from the company, they clarified that the special rate was a gesture of gratefulness from the hotel, on account of the huge proportion of guests who come to do business with Epic. It is by far the dominant player in Verona, where the population of 10,600 is comparable to the companyâs head count of 9,800.
Epicâs headquarters were a short drive away, down a meandering road through countryside dotted with Queen Anneâs lace and farm equipment. I drove past a giant Tin Man, the first indication of the campusâs fairy-tale aesthetic, and into guest parking, in one of the campusâs few aboveground lots.
There was virtually no security. I walked past a sculpture of Humpty Dumpty, set on a wall and typing away on an Epic laptop, past the warning against carrying concealed weapons (Wisconsin allows them in most public venues), and into reception. I was asked to sign an old-fashioned guest book, given a âHello! My name isâ sticker and a few pages of directions, and told I could wander the campusâs 25 buildings and numerous footpaths on my own.
The design theme was childish even by the standards of technology start-ups, where ball pits and scooters are common. I paused at the Cavey Den, a hollowed-out treehouse with stumps for seats and childrenâs books, then rocked on a rocking horse and ate a cookie from a jar, wondering what time was set aside for naps. There was a long series of clay slabs with handprint impressions from longtime employees, and walls and walls of art sourced from Wisconsin-area artists: a dragon perched in an iron bird cage; expanses of blue and purple stained glass; a clock featuring manicured poodles and Cupid; an old-timey circus ad painted on canvas.
The diversions went beyond art. At the Black Dragon cafe, which was next to an informal band-practice area, a sandwich board advertised oatmeal for 75 cents and bacon for $1. Along the Indiana Jones tunnel, decorated with vines and a golden idol, the sound of dripping water and roaring animals played in a constant loop. A conference room named after a Star Wars planet was reached via a rickety swinging bridge. All around me, young workers in shorts and band T-shirts hurried past. (The companyâs dress code is that when visitors are on campus, wear clothes.)
The next morning, I woke up feeling off: a throat infection Iâd been treating with antibiotics seemed to be getting worse. Verona, while long on breweries, day cares, artisanal pizza and jumbo mortgages, lacks an urgent-care clinic, so I drove into nearby west Madison for some attention.
The clinic I found was, naturally, running on an Epic system that logged me in, took my information and tracked my health statistics. The nurseâs assistant who saw me had visited Epic during her training, as do many medical professionals who work with its technology as part of their jobs.
Epicâs reach is, well, epic. Its systems contain records for more than 50 percent of United States medical patients. It is a major software provider to big health systems like Memorial Sloan Kettering, the Mayo Clinic, Cedars-Sinai and University of Utah Health, as well as scores of doctorâs offices and smaller clinics. Its applications handle functions both complex and straightforward, from the emergency room to the bills sent to patient homes. They calibrate drug dosages, monitor vital signs, match blood types, anticipate infection symptoms, and keep tumor measurements. Epic software is elemental to everything from transplants to cesarean sections.
Once you know what Epic does in health care, you see it everywhere. When I left the urgent-care center, diagnosed with a gnarly case of strep, the summary printout I was given was branded on one corner with Epicâs insignia.
Coders who donât mind a little blood and gore
The next day, back at company headquarters, I sat in one of the less Montessori-style conference rooms with Steve Dickmann, 72, the chief administrative officer. He became animated when explaining some of the more functional, less fantastical features of the space. âThe whole campus is designed to promote productivity, creativity, comfort,â he said.
There was a philosophy behind everything. All employees have offices, because studies show that workers in open floor plans get interrupted frequently. Stairs promote socialization, but buildings canât be more than three stories, because workers are reluctant to climb more than a flight or two. Every conference room must have windows so that visitors donât feel hemmed in during days and days of training.
The overriding mission, Mr. Dickmann said, was to ensure the safety of patients at facilities that use Epic software. If health care programmers make mistakes, he said, âbad things can happen.â
Epicâs coders often leave campus to embed in operating and recovery rooms, where they watch nurses ripping the tops off blood bags and surgeons opening up peopleâs chest cavities. Itâs an experience that young engineers are unlikely to get at, say, Facebook or Snap, working on algorithms that tailor ads to demographic groups or insert rainbow vomit into photographs.
Programmers regularly faint at the sight of beating hearts, scalpels and bodily fluids. âThere were people that would pass out in the hallwayâ of hospitals, said Aaron Webb, who worked at Epic for 10 years as a software developer. He watched âhundredsâ of surgeries, often with his team in tow, before moving to Seattle, where he now works for a business that matches companies with storage space. âBut if you canât understand what your users are going through, youâre not going to design a good system.â
Epic works its more than 5,000 programmers hard. Middle-of-the-night technical crises, stress-related illness and employees weeping from exhaustion in airport lounges are not uncommon, say former employees. Long hours are expected. One piece of company lore has it that during a construction project, Ms. Faulkner questioned a plan to install motion-activated light switches, noting that employees might be sitting still at their desks for such long stretches that theyâd frequently find themselves in the dark. (The sensors were installed, and she was proved correct.)
âThe volume of work at Epic, regardless of what role youâre in, is very high,â said Jacob Lewis, who was a technical writer at Epic before he left in 2014. He later sued the company over unpaid overtime. His case, a class-action suit that hinged on the obligation to sign an employee agreement that forced workers into arbitration, rather than litigation, was combined with similar cases and was heard by the Supreme Court last year. The workers lost.
This combination of chaotic, stressful client visits and isolating, mundane office work might explain the companyâs Disney dimension. Epic is a place where wedding music plays on a campuswide public-announcement system when new clients are signed. Dry-cleaning services are found at the âNew York Sock Exchange.â Employees can hurtle down an âAlice in Wonderlandâ slide into a room with miniature furniture. They are encouraged to visit a conference room encased by waterfalls and a shark pond when in need of inspiration. (The shark is fake.) Internal awards for outstanding work are named after Jack Bauer and MacGyver.
The benefits of disattention
A few hours after my sit-down with Mr. Dickmann, I was granted an audience with Ms. Faulkner herself. We met in her personal conference room, a place of warm earth tones, steaming hot tea and personal memorabilia, including a copy of the prayer âDesiderataâ with faux-burned margins mounted on a wall. âI think we save many, many, many lives a year,â she told me.
Ms. Faulkner, who bears the same shy, distracted demeanor as Facebookâs Mark Zuckerberg, was wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt and a crocheted cardigan. She is soft-spoken and literal in conversation. But once a year, at her annual client meeting, she dresses up as the Mad Hatter or a wizard and gives an inspirational talk to an audience of thousands. This year, the theme was camp: She dressed up as a park ranger and told a story about catching frogs with her bare hands on a hiking trip and  eating them for dinner.
Born in 1943, Ms. Faulkner said she taught herself to code in a week, using a Fortran textbook, during her undergraduate years at Dickinson College. As a graduate student in computer science at the University of Wisconsin, she conceived a prototype for Epic while sitting in her living room one day in the mid-1970s.
âThe sun was shining, I was disattentive, I was just sitting there and suddenly it all came to me: Hereâs how you build it,â she said. âAnd I remember running into the kitchen, grabbing a pad of paper and just writing code, code, code, code,â she said. While she went on to teach computer science for a period, she kept coming back to the idea, and in 1979, in a Madison basement, she founded what would become Epic: a start-up called Human Services Computing. Today, some of Epicâs foundational programming still bears Ms. Faulknerâs initials.
Ms. Faulkner is now 75, and over the last four years, the company she built has grown an average of 14 percent a year, according to revenue figures it shared with The Times. She has instructed her heirs (she has three children) and stock-holding employees, who together constitute a majority of the companyâs equity holders, that they must always vote their shares in favor of keeping Epic private. They must also ensure that Epic is run by an executive who already works for the company, and that that person is a software developer.
That decision-making may not occur for a while. Itâs âmore likely that Iâd die than that Iâd retire,â she said.
We talked about her â10 commandmentsâ and other principles for doing business, which are hung in most public spaces around campus and discussed in detail at the monthly staff meetings. Ms. Faulkner said that staying private ensures the company can make decisions without public shareholder pressure â such as forgoing  revenue when a clientâs facilities are damaged by severe weather and it canât afford to pay software maintenance fees for a time. Avoiding both debt and budgets is another Faulkner goal. But she leaves the enforcement of these principles to lieutenants, preferring to focus on software and customer relations.
âI look at our financial information maybe for a minute a month,â she said.
One criticism that has dogged Epic is that its software sometimes wonât connect with that of competitors, meaning that patient information canât move around as seamlessly as it should. The company has chipped away at the problem in recent years, but much remains to be done.
âThe problem isnât the lack of effort, itâs the lack of standards,â said Jim Turnbull, the chief information officer for the University of Utah system and a longtime Epic client. âUntil the federal government and all the vendors recognize that we have too many standards, I just donât think itâs going to be possible to completely interoperate,â he said, using the industry term for connectivity.
The day after meeting with Ms. Faulkner, I took a final tour of Epic with its head of media relations, Meghan Roh, who was hired in 2017 as the first person ever to occupy that position. We went down a slide connecting the ground floor of a building called Heaven, with a white interior, to a lower level with an elevator whose floors were marked Devil, Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub and Mephistopheles. (When you press a button, you hear audio of an imaginary demon saying, âPlease come in. Itâs nice and toasty in here.â)
Underground is also where youâll find Epicâs auditorium. Built partly to preserve the sightlines on campus and minimize water and waste runoff, the gathering place hosts the Verona high schoolâs annual graduation ceremony as well as Epicâs monthly staff meetings, at which attendance is required. On the way in, employees are served popcorn and coffee, an homage to an earlier point when the company used movie theaters for large meetings, and shown a reel of pictures of recent staff weddings, newborn babies and beloved pets. Then they hear presentations on new products and priorities, matters of company philosophy, and new âarmiesâ being formed for employees to brainstorm software-based solutions to epidemics like the opioid crisis and maternal morbidity.
Workers who fully commit to Epic â who survive the long hours and grisly sights â are treated to a remarkable perk. After five years, they get a sabbatical, including round-trip airfare for two to travel somewhere theyâve never been for a month, plus a per diem for meals and lodging. (They get another sabbatical after 10 years, 15, and so on.)
Epic is constantly scanning the undergraduate ranks for new hires. Rather than sticking to engineer incubator schools like M.I.T. or Stanford, it scouts institutions like Carleton College in Minnesota and Clemson University in South Carolina. Candidates take online tests to gauge their problem-solving skills and, if they pass muster, are whisked to Madison for an on-campus interview and tour of the area.
Once on board, employees take a multiweek training course that includes basic business etiquette as well as Epic-specific skill building. Officials preach a flat structure in which itâs never O.K. to turn down colleagues for help. They also teach a tactic called âbadgeringâ â remember, itâs Wisconsin â or the art of being persistent but not maddening.
Epicâs broad recruiting strategy and perks help draw people in, but over time, itâs the cultures of both Wisconsin and Epic that help keep people there.
âThe only reason I left Epic was so that my family could move out West,â said Mr. Webb, the former Epic programmer. âEvery day was different. And it was fun. And just being able to go see the impact you were having, that was really, really cool.â

Stone's Den [Modded]{1.7.10}
Hey!
Its that time of year again where I get the urge to play Minecraft, but whats the fun in playing alone? This brings me to hosting my own server and opening it up to those who would enjoy a wide variety of mods on a rather chill, small server with friendly faces.
Server Info
Survival: This is a survival server meaning that we will be playing in such a way.
Hard: The server is on hard and with all the mods we have installed, this isn't forgiving in the slightest. Take this as a warning because I will not be changing the difficulty. That also being said, a few of the mods have tweaked this experience such as with Tinker's Construct, all normal tools are disabled. However, don't worry if you aren't that familiar with the mod as there are many people who know the ins and outs as well as a hands on tutorial that you can follow to craft your first tool.
Modded: If you for some reason haven't see it already, yes! The server is modded with a custom built modpack. This means we can add and remove any mods we see fit so feel free to make suggestions as to what we can change! This will be run through the Technic pack so its a quick and easy install. (Modpack Link)
Casual: We are a chill group of people that don't bite too hard! Staff isn't a big deal around here/doesn't exist as its so small and if you want the annoying downfall toggled or loss all your stuff cause of a sudden server restart, let me know and it can easily be done/replaced. But that doesn't mean that you can get away with anything, now. Just remember that.
America Hosted: I am hosting the server myself because I'm cheap like that. But if I can run the server and play on the same machine at 60 frames, I'm pretty sure if you're located in America you'll be fine.
1.7.10: Even though the mods made us go to such a version, I LOVE that we are able to play it this way without all the odd additions added in future versions. Besides, who needs polar bears when you can mine and fight without a cooldown?
Mature: This is a BIG one. I want those who are able to act maturely and play with others without filling the stereotypical 12 year old minecrafter archtype. So far, everyone has been keeping this up so I hope you decide to as well!
Rules?: There aren't any rules listed here because I didn't think it wasn't necessary. However, let me make clear that any malicious acts of theft, griefing, hardcore trolling, or anything of the sort is not tolerated.

Code Migration
Okay okay so my boyfriend gave me a really good idea which I would like to do and that is migrate my codes to an external source and give you guys the easy on the eyes version with the editable portion just the way you want them. It makes it easier for me to have control over my major codes as well.
This change will happen gradually, starting from the bottom to the top. Some codes will remain public and free to use but the codes I treasure more will remain with me. You have still free reign to control the code the way you want it to especially the main color schemes, backgrounds etc. But the bulk of the code will remain in my possession. This is a safety thing I wish to remain because I recently got alerted to the fact that some code credits were removed from other peopleâs codes and I do not wish for that to happen to me. Should a code be pulled from the existence, that is most likely because ToS got infringed and Iâm not going to put it back up unless the said person takes down their profile or I have finished suing. Because, yes, I will sue.
This isnât just all for me. Part of the code will remain public, the things you would definitely want to change. Background, images, colors, box sizes, fonts, etc. These will not be to limit the way you make your profile. It just gives me more control over my property.Â
As always, I will be free for alteration most times of the day so you can always come to me if you donât know how to change the code and you want to use it.
ALSO, I fixed the link to Coderâs Den. I didnât even fucking link it. It was a placeholder when I checked. IâM DUMB IâM SO SORRY. But yeah, to that anonymous user that commented about it 2 days ago, your link is there. Iâll always be on Discord for you guys to pop into!
xoxo,Â
