Summary

After blindly following the advice of fashion magazines and the like, Haruna fails to win the eye of any guy. Convinced that a coach is needed (just like when she trained for softball), she recruits cute upperclassman Yoh Komiyama to instruct her on how to make herself more appealing. Yoh agrees, with one catch: Haruna had better not fall for him!

Review

Haruna is an excitable sporty-girl who is determined to cast aside sports for romance. Now that she is in HS, Haruna wants to experience love, so she goes all out studying magazines and dating guides, she basically tries everything all at once and surprisingly nothing works... she decides she needs a coach to help her. Yoh, a handsome 2nd year catches Haruna’s eye because he was nice to her and is popular, that she begs him to help her and be her coach. 

Yoh is a reserved and low energy person, his looks only get him unwanted attention and his is suspicious of Haruna’s motivations, but her pathetic and tragic efforts of attract a boyfriend thaws his cold heart and he agrees to help her, but she can’t fall in love with him.

We also meet a few other characters, most notably Yoh’s little sister Asami, same age as Haruna.  She seems like a mean girl character who likes mask her passive aggressive bullying behind her charming good looks. She offers to help gullible Haruna, but more for her own amusement and kinda forces Yoh to step in and help Haruna himself.

Haruna is quite gullible and is so eager to fall in love that she leaps into situations much to the more mature and worldly Yoh irritation. But, being a decent guy and having taken a responsibility of sorts over Haruna, Yoh can’t help but come to her rescue... Yoh is going to be in for a lot of drama.
