Datamining Andromeda: Humans
Tumblr media
We’re getting closer to the end of this series! We’re going to dig around Mass Effect Andromeda’s files for information about the human characters. Some of them have summaries and biographies hidden inside the game files for the developers to use.
Previous posts:
Datamining Andromeda: Asari Datamining Andromeda: Salarians Datamining Andromeda: Turians Datamining Andromeda: Krogan
When it comes to the humans, many minor NPCs have summaries while major characters such as Liam, Addison, and Gil do not.
Warning: There are spoilers ahead!
------
Major Human Characters:
Cora Harper Cora Harper is a human soldier who trained with mysterious asari commandos. Talented and smart, Harper is a consummate professional who finds herself always looking for a trusted mentor to give her guidance and a path in life. She was a close friend of the Player's father--as close as anyone got--and can give insight into him even after his passing. Harper is a woman of few words: in a pinch, she prefers to let a bit of deadpan humour or a well-placed shot do the talking.
Suvi Anwar Suvi Anwar is the Tempest's resident science officer. A brilliant physicist, she was recommended for the Pathfinder Initiative, and jumped at the chance to explore the wonders of a new galaxy. Initially attached to the NEXUS as part of the team responsible for the data collection and analysis of the conditions in the Heleus Cluster, Suvi campaigned to become part of the Pathfinder's scouting team, in order to expand her investigation of the cluster. Excitable, may occasionally talk to herself. Brain goes fast, mouth runs to keep up.
Harry Carlyle Harry is initially the team doctor on the Pathfinder team, but then swaps job with Lexi. Harry remains on the Hyperion and helps watch over the sibling. Harry is in his late 40s, easy-going, and game for anything.
Ryder Sr. Father of the player character. Tough, no nonsense ex-soldier-turned-Pathfinder.  He's a commanding presence.
Ellen Ryder Ellen Ryder is the wife of Alec Ryder, the original human Pathfinder who dies in M1 (and mother of player characters, Scott and Say).  Ellen met Alec when he was doing his N7 training on Earth.   Ellen was a scientist involved in the early stages of human biotic research, delving into the use of implants as a way of harnessing biotic abilities. At the time, this was very primitive and often dangerous work.  Alec and Ellen married, but he was then deployed to the First Contact War, leaving Ellen as something of a soldier's wife, moving around wherever Alec was posted. Next up was the Citadel, where Alec was ambassador and Ellen raised their two children, Scott and Sara for a number of years on the station. On the Citadel, Ellen found new horizons opening up in her field, with the galactic knowledge of biotics far in advance of the work she'd been doing on Earth. But there was a dark side too. Ellen experienced the onset of a serious degenerative disease. Its root cause could be traced back to her early work on biotics on Earth, at a time when the danger of exposure to eezo was little understood.  Because her illness was so rare, there was no known cure. The family moved back to Earth to care for her and Alec devoted himself to developing SAM as a way of curing her.  Alec enlisted Ellen in the project, and together they leveraged her knowledge of implants, melding it with Alec's understanding of A.I. The project consumed Alec, and he became a distant and aloof figure to both his wife and children. Whereas Ellen tried to put on a brave face and remain a committed mother - she eventually ended up the de facto "single parent" in place of their mostly absent father. Despite her disease, she remained a loving and committed mother, caring deeply about her two children. Eventually, her condition worsened to the point where it was too late, death was inevitable. She was willing to accept this, but Alec was not.  He loved her too much.  Despite their sometimes rocky relationship they still felt passionate about each other, even to the very end.
------
Mysterious Benefactor
Race: Human A character in the Alec Ryder memory flashbacks. This is the Mysterious Benefactor -- the secret backer of the entire Andromeda Initiative who originally hired Alec. She's a woman, though her face will remain hidden in this game and we'll only hear her voice.
------
Humans of Kadara:
Sloane Kelly Sloane Kelly also known as the "Outcast Queen" is a "Robin Hood" figure who leads the Outcast Legion pirate faction by holding the spoils of war in one hand and a loaded gun in the other. A hardened survivor from the Nexus rebellion, she holds a deep personal grudge against the Andromedia Initiative--and, by association, the Pathfinder. South African. Attractive but tough. Like Furiosa from Mad Max.
Reyes Vidal Reyes Vidal presents himself to the player as a smuggler and contact of the Angaran Resistance, but he is secretly the Charlatan, one of the two major pirate lords vying for power in Kadara Port. He is charming and driven, but ultimately selfish and values himself above others. Casual, friendly with a flirty undertone. A very slight Chilean accent. Han Solo handsome--rugged but put together.
Dr. Ryota Nakamoto Ryota Nakamoto once worked for the Outcast Legion, but when Sloane turned what should have been a medical breakthrough into a drug, he quit and started up a free clinic in the slums of Kadara Port. He is Japanese, but doesn't have an accent.
------
Humans of the Nexus:
Jien Garson This is Jien Garson, the founder of the Andromeda Initiative. A charismatic visionary billionaire ala Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, or Steve Jobs. She is seen in the video "info wall" in beginning of game. She will also be a character in the MEA prequel novel.
William Spender The son of an influential investor of the pathfinder initiative, Spender was assigned to the Pathfinder Initiative as an administrator. Though he was not competent, his ability as a politician was such that he managed to preserve his position within the Initiative until the departure of the arks. Woken up during the arrival in the Heleus Cluster, he became the director of colonial affairs’€™ assistant more though lack of personel than anything else. His propensity for dodgy politics and behind the scenes dealing (and lying) continued, though a fatal miscalculation led to him becoming a pawn of the Nexus Exiles. He subsequently contributed to the departure of the krogan clan among other issues. He complies with Tann's requests thus is in good odor with him. Addison knows he is less than qualified and suspects he had a part in the krogan leaving, but no one has any idea of his involvement with the exiles.
Cryo Deployment Administrator Vladimir Brecka Dedicated but long-suffering assistant to the Colonial Director. Generally good natured, but knows his place in the order of things, and wants better. Knows that a good job will lead to better things for everyone, so he grins and bears it. Light Romanian Accent.
Doctor Camden Chief botanist and manager of Hydroponics who left for Andromeda after the Divorce From Hell. Camden is brisk and fussy, annoyed that people dismiss him as "a gardener" when his work in Hydroponics keeps everyone still breathing, eating, and drinking--nothing important, right? He nurses that grudge like a favourite teddy bear, but underneath it all he's deeply concerned that a thin green line separates the Nexus from life and death. Akin to the Doctor from ST: Voyager.
Yolanda Carter Operations Manager. A seemingly quiet and posed woman, Yolanda will rain the fires from hell down upon any unsuspecting fool who presumes to think her request for this or that item is superfluous. While some are intimidated by her, having fallen foul of her before, all respect her ability to get shit done. She works with Vetra and the two make a scary team when they are like-minded on acquiring something for the station.
Ada DeYoung A young technician working under Kesh on the Nexus. She is optimistic and tends to take everything with great aplomb. Kesh sends her to fix problems that no one can figure out, as the joke among the engineers is that the bugs then to happen when she's around. She is excellent at tracking down power issues within any given sort of network.
Sung-Soo Hwang Technician. An engineer working under Kesh in the engineering department. He is a hardware specialist who tends to be partnered with Ada more often than not due to their complementary skillsets and the fact that he takes the power outages Ada discovers with humor and has set up a countdown betting pool as to the next outage she tracks down.
Colonial Affairs Ops Lin. A young woman, asian, working the comms in the Colonial Affairs area. She's generally in charge of ensuring Addison is aware of on the spot reports when she's not at her desk, and managing the flow of information from settlements to the appropriate department head.
------
Humans on Meridian After the Last Mission:
Iora Pillay (Chief Operations) Iora Pillay (iora, not Lora) takes on the managerial position meant to temporarily organize Hub operations until a permanent leader is decided, then assist that leader in perpetuity. East Indian by way of the Citadel. Focused, careful. Respects the Pathfinder, but on some level considers their job "done." Very pro Nexus-as-new-Citadel. She is "second wave," one of the first of the humans "defrosted" after the Hyperion was placed.
Hunter Kerry (Chief Engineer) Hunter is heading up the planned deconstruction of the Hyperion, managing the balance between reuse and recycling. New Zealander. Plainspoken, tough as balls. Doesn't care about politics. Complains that accommodating aliens messes with construction, but then goes above and beyond to do it. He just wanted you to know. He's another second wave defrostee.
Darla vas Hyperion (Placements Officer) Darla vas Hyperion is in charge of assigning occupations as the Ark is slowly repurposed and the humans in stasis are awakened. Spent most of her life among Quarians, because her parents were diplomats.  Utterly used to ship-life and the specificity of roles that demands. Pale. Used to life in a sterile environment. Middle management, glad to be in HR and not farming. Idolizes the Pathfinder. Another second wave defrostee. Korean Heritage.

If you don’t mind me asking ? What exactly is f2p and breakdown?
it’s no problem at all!
f2p is an official mahoiku spinoff manga illustrated by ryota yuzuki, a known yuri mangaka. there are two volumes. the synopsis says:
What are Magical Girls?
Different from the Mages, who use power for their own, Magical Girls are people who received power from the Magical Kingdom and use it to help people in the world.
Two Magical Girls from the Magical Kingdom’s R&D Division and Magical Girl Resources Department, Spinon and Alma, head to F-City to investigate and secure a Magical Girl with the ability “to cancel death”. However, when they arrived, what they saw in F-City was something they did not expect…
in f2p, we’re intoduced to amy and monako, who are the friends that marika mentions in jokers. we’re also introduced to stella lulu, who canonically knows la pucelle as revealed in delta. frederica makes cameos as well.
unfortunately, the manga seems to have been put on an indefinite hiatus, if not canceled in some way. ryota herself said that there were three volumes planned, and we just happened to stop at volume two. not only that, there are only scanlations for the first two chapters. you can read those here.
i genuinely hope that they can be translated one day, as i really would like to meet lulu, amy, and monako properly! lulu makes an appearance in the main mahoiku light novels, and amy and monako appear in a christmas sidestory.
marika with amy and monako, drawn by ryota:

moving along, breakdown is an official mahoiku webnovel that endou asari has written. the limited survivors make appearances in it! the synopsis says:
A well-known Mage died in an accident during an experiment. People in the Magical Kingdom mourned for the great person who had lived for a long time and built countless magical spells and items.
Several months after his death, his agent sent an invitation to his relatives. They were told to go to The Island that the deceased used as a villa and research facility.
A note was written on the invitation card. It stated that the people who received the invitation had the right to inherit his property. According to the rules in the note, they were all required to go to The Island to decide who would inherit the property. It was said that those who did not come would lose their rights to the inheritance and that each person could bring up to two Magical Girls as companions.
Mana, who received the invitation as one of the inheritors, looked at the card doubtfully, but after careful consideration, she decided to contact two of her friends who were Magical Girls.
because asari has focused on publishing black, breakdown has been put on a hiatus. we have fourteen chapters translated at the moment, which you can read right here. there are nineteen chapters out officially!
i hope that helps!

Ideas I’d love to see implemented in the next Mass Effect Andromeda game/s.
Some of these are sooo unrealistic, but I can dream right?? :)
CHILDREN: Lots of them, of every race. I’d love to see a Salarian tugging on their mum’s arm because they want to hold their baby sibling who’s swimming around in a fish bowl. Krogan kids running around New Tuchanka and the nexus, getting piggy back rides from their dads. Little Asari and Turians running around playing tag with each other, while one uses her biotics to cheat. Hanar kids teaching humans to swim. Quarian bubbles rolling around all over the place. Drell riding on the backs of their Elcor friends. Baby Batarians being pushed around in futuristic buggies. I need cute little moments like that. Children would add sooo much immersion to the world.
PROTHEANS: They were such an advanced race I’m sure that at least some of them would have come up with the whole leaving the galaxy idea. Maybe they journeyed to a different cluster within Andromeda but passed through Heleus? One of their ships was forced off course after a rouge faction ulterred its course back in Prothean space and crashed on a planet that still remains undiscovered by the kett, angara and the Initiative. The intact stasis pods revived the Protheans within them, but only after they ran out of power? The inhabitants weren’t scientists thus didn’t know how to replicate space faring technology and also fared that the reapers may have followed them, so they abolished star flight all together and made their own nomadic civilization. I’m just hanging out to see more of that race to be honest especially the females.
OUTPOSTS AND AREAS FROM THE FIRST GAME: We spent so long setting up these outposts I’d love to see how they have ended up as well as the other areas we helped mold.
- New Tuchunka. Due to the fact they have the Drive core I’m thinking the outpost would develop quite quickly. I’m imagining three cylindrical districts with deep caves and buildings built into the inside walls of the sinkholes, avoiding the sun. The first as a water storage and farming district with football sized caves carved into the rock with farms inside. The second as a housing and leisure district with apartments and family homes, as well as communal gardens and parks. The third as an entertainment and financial district with bars and shops selling lots of Krogan goods. I’m thinking lots of balconies and overhanging plants etc in all three districts. The original outpost on top is set up as a Krogan historical and science centre making information about the old Krogan and the original Tuchanka accessible to everyone as well as an effort to cure the Genophage. Initiative outpost spreads out further North west up on to the hill.
- The Flophouse. Re purposed as a water treatment center and general eco science facility aimed at supporting and maintaining all the eco systems of the currently occupied worlds and provide water to the whole district.
-  Prodromos. Original site three has been turned into a memorial garden and pond as a testament to those who lost their lives at site 1 and 2. A big art installation where the beacon was originally placed has been erected. Prodromos itself has been moved up to The Sheartop with buildings and balconies overhanging the edge of the settlement overlooking site 3 memorial gardens. Sites 1 and 2 have been re-opened. Site one has been turned into a Krogan refuge as an attempt to bring them back into the initiative and Site two as a remnant research facility spearheaded by Peebee.
-  Taerve Uni. Due the fact there would be so much melting ice I’d love to see a half-submerged outpost. Lots of glass and exposed steel. The Kett base stripped and re purposed as the new Resistance headquarters? Frozen city unearthed and turned into a research facility?
-  Ditaeon. Lots of smaller townships littering the area around the original outpost site, with buildings no taller than 4 stories high. All buildings have gardens of local flora and rock formations atop their roofs. I’d love to see a Hospital run by Dr. Ryota Nakamoto close to the original site. The hospital would aid all Angara and Milky Way soldiers injured in the fight against the Kett plus the development of his penicillin.
- Pelaav research station. Many initiative scientists are sent there to learn more about Havarl itself and a massive collective effort has been put in place to learn more about the Angara and the remnant. No milky way structures are present on the planet as a way to show respect for Havarls heritage. Floating science facility? Science labs in orbit?
- Port Meridian. Opened up for Angaran settlement. Those wanting to live on Aya can now bring their families to live on meridian. Large human settlement around the crash site of the Hyperion. Libraries, science facilities, lounges and other forms of human entertainment. Peebee lives there and spends 24 hours a day studying remnant?
- Ryder-1. Alec Ryder memorial. Large cave settlements?
- Nexus. Fully realized. Heleus plants now grow on it. Moshae Sjefa now lives on it. All races including the Krogan now have a place in its arms. Morda has a home there as she is the interim ambassador to the Nexus in my save game. Nexus is moved periodically to keep it away from the Kett.
- Arks. All except the Hyperion are repaired and docked on the nexus. They travel between the nexus and the golden worlds when needed. OR the Natanus is over run by what’s left of the Outcasts after the nexus rescues all other surviving Turians. Becomes the new Omega station?
TWIN GAME PLAY: I loved the scene where you get to play as your sibling I think that’s a really cool dynamic. Working as part of a family team. It would be cool if your main Ryder did the pathfinder thing while the other sibling did minor missions throughout your story. Let’s say your pathfinder is set off on a mission to go and help a newly found Angaran settlement. On your way to the system instead of it being a loading screen you now play as your sibling on a visit to one of the old outposts from the first game, or you’re asked to help out a Salarian on the nexus. Or you can request your sibling to help you with things via vidcom. Ring them up and request they visit a certain area then bam!! you’re there doing the work, playing as them helping the initiative.
MORE SQUAD MATES:
I’m thinking ME2 amount of squad mates.
MORE ALIEN ROMANCE OPTIONS: Give me a serious Krogan romance option. If Rorik is anything to go by not all Krogan are alien hating brutes. Let me bang a Batarian, snuggle with a Hanar and make out with Drell. I play Mass Effect games for the Aliens, not the humans. If you can’t give me more alien love, then let me see it through NPC’s. A kick ass lesbian Krogan couple would be PERFECT!!
MORE KETT INFO: Origins of the other exalted races. Were they from Andromeda or from further away? Where is Sarhesen?
WHAT DO THE JARDAAN LOOK LIKE, REMNANT MASS RELAYS: Did they have a galaxy wide network? Are they just AI?
CULTURAL DEFERENCES IN MILKY WAY RACES: I think Andromeda presents Bioware with a real opportunity to expand on the narrative of the different races. I don’t believe for second that all Batartians are the same when there are billions of them! I feel like these outliers would be the ones who would want to travel to Andromeda so please show me some. They don’t have to abide by their race rules anymore. Even if all Batarians are the same, some must realise they don’t need to be anymore? That goes for all races too.
MORE RACE VI’s IN THE CULTURAL EXCHANGE: Show me a Quarian VI, one that’s so unsure of itself because Quarian’s aren’t meant to like virtual intelligence and it knows that. An Elcor VI that recites Shakespeare. A Vorcha VI that just insults you or a broken Volus VI that just breathes in.
NORMAL CLOTHES, SKIN: Krogan in Singlets. Krogan in shorts. Krogan in flip flops. The Bioware team did a good job with the facial textures for the Alien races I’d love to see the rest of them. Some of them must have time out of their armour and full body suites. An example would be A turian working on a space ship in the hot sun with no shirt on, a merchant in New Tuchanka with more exposed clothing to combat the heat or a Batarian going for a swim.
A SECRET TERMINUS SYSTEMS ARK: I just like the idea that the government of one of the Terminus and or annexed races found out about the Initiative and sent their own custom ark made from stolen specs. Raoli, Virtual Aliens, Yahg, Vorcha and Rachni. I just loved those races and selfishly want them back.
SMALLER THINGS: - More then one face model for Asari and Angara. Like I mean seriously? - Better writing… - Depth to settlements, growth not just WHAM and there is a settlement. - Characters from Annihilation

Favourite Interaction/ Passage Meme
I was tagged by @vorchagirl Thank you for the tag!!
This comes from Chapter 6 of The impossible choice.
Ryder stared the console that lead to the slums. Her hand hesitated to activate it.
She took a deep breath. Time moving slower until she activated the console.
When the elevator arrived her steps were slow but steady.
The nightclub sounded louder than usual, almost deafeningly so. She moved towards Reyes’ usual spot.
Just as she wanted to open the door via her omni-tool, an asari waitress walked out, leaving the door open for her.
They nodded to each other before trading spaces.
“Reyes,” Ryder greeted, “Are you busy?”
Reyes was leaning over a terminal, “I’m never too busy for you.” His eyes were focused on the terminal, not turning around when the words left his mouth.
“Oh, I feel so honoured,” Ryder said, a hint of playfulness in her tone.
She moved towards the light coloured couch and made herself comfortable.
A few moments later Reyes was done and he made his way over. “Is this business or pleasure?” he asked as he sat gently on the couch.
“Business of course,” she started to say, “I need to talk to you about Kadara’s drugs.” She eyed him carefully, watching his body language.
Reyes leaned forward, placing his elbows on his thighs, rubbing his hands together.
“I take it you’re talking about Oblivion?”
“Yes.”
“Isn’t it too soon for you to return to your job?” he inquired.
She narrowed her eyes suspiciously at him but decided not to ask. “I’m not cleared for active duty.” Her eyes did not leave him for a moment, “Not yet. Cora, Liam, and Vetra had a chat with Dr. Nakamoto.”
He nodded, seemingly distracted by his own thoughts.  “And what did he say?”
“He asked them to steal back his formula.”
“What’s the problem?” he asked, not seeing Ryder’s point.
“For starters, he could’ve lied. He wouldn’t be the first liar in Andromeda,” she frowned.  “But for all I know this drug will, in fact, be used as medicine. And help the people of Kadara and beyond.”
Ryder decided to keep the part where Cora was worried that Nakamoto uses Oblivion for herself.
Reyes thought for a moment before answering, “I see your concern, but Ryota is one of the only honest men on Kadara.” Ryder was sure he was serious, until he added, “Besides me, of course.”
Ryder raised an eyebrow, “Sure.”
“Besides, isn’t it more dangerous if it isn’t used as medicine? What damage do you think this drug will cause?”
Reyes had a point there, one she couldn’t ignore.
The awkward silence hung in the air for a few moments, “Alright. I see your point. My team will get the formula.”
Ryder just hoped this wasn’t a huge mistake.
“And Kadara will be safe once again.” Reyes launched his omni-tool. Ryder watched as the orange tech gave more colour to the room, “Do you want something to drink or are you leaving?”
She shrugged, “I have time to stay, but,” she stopped, looking down at her stomach, “nothing to drink,” she turned her gaze back to him, “thank you.”
He stared at her for a long time before eventually asking, “Is something wrong?”
Ryder looked down at her hands, they were shaking. She tried to hide it away by balling them into fists, “No, everything is fine.”
“Why are your hands shaking then?” he asked.
“It’s nothing,” she said as she was standing up. She was making ready to leave the room, but he stopped her.
She could feel the weight of his hands on her blue leather jacket. When she looked at him she saw he was holding her arms, keeping her in place. His eyes were searching for something. Answers she wasn’t willing to give.
She couldn’t stand the silence, so she decided to break it. “Reyes we can pretend that we know each other, but the truth is we don’t.” His gaze didn’t change as she spoke, and she couldn’t help but wonder why she felt slightly disappointed at that. “A few months ago we didn’t even know each other.”
She expected him to say something, but there was only silence. She could hear her own heartbeat. He looked at her, studied her. Then he leaned in and kissed her. His lips tasted like whiskey.
It was unexpected, but for the first time in weeks she felt free and happy. It made her forget of all the events of last couple of months. The Archon. The kett. Exaltation. Choices that she needed to make. All that mattered was the moment between them.
But then she pulled away. Reyes kissing her was unexpected and although it made her forget for a moment, it wouldn’t change anything. The kiss might’ve startled her but she couldn’t admit it to anyone. Not even to herself. Because she wasn’t sure what it meant.
She stared at him, his eyes looked fixedly back at her. It felt like he could see what she was thinking. And she didn’t like that.
Ryder wanted to say something, anything really. The words failed to come, no matter how hard she tried. They kept gawking at each other, it felt like a lifetime.
Was it a lifetime for him too? Why didn’t he say anything?
Reyes was always so good with words. Ryder knew he could talk himself out of any situation.  Was this all a game to him?
“I have to go,” Ryder didn’t know what else to say.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay?” His voice was inviting but she couldn’t trust it.
“I have to go and take care of some things,” she lied.
The truth was for the first time in months, she didn’t know what was next. And that thought scared her.
Ryder might be back officially as the Pathfinder, but she wasn’t doing the full job anymore. Someone else was. It wasn’t like someone took over. Cora dealt with the field work and she dealt with the not so fun part of the Pathfinder reports.
Cora and the others were heading out to get the drug formula from the Badlands.
How long will it take before she can get out of there again?
“Alright,” he said unconvinced.
His tone unsettled her even more.

Andromeda Ask Meme [SPOILERS]
Thirty Questions About Your Decisions
The Basics: 1. Male or Female Ryder? - Female!
2. Feelings on being the Pathfinder? - Thea was very unsure of herself and uncomfortable with it at first, but she gained confidence in herself and her abilities as time went on and it eventually fit her like a glove
3. Your Pathfinder’s feelings on SAM? - Well, she’d had a connection to SAM before becoming a Pathfinder, it just... became a lot more personal. It felt weird, and took some getting used to, but now he almost feels like family.
4. When your comatose sibling asked about the current situation in Andromeda, did Ryder lie or tell the truth about Alec Ryder and Habitat 7? Why? - She told the truth. She HAD to believe that he was going to be okay, and when he did eventually wake up, she wanted to be able to do it with him knowing the truth, and not immediately discovering that she’d lied to him.
5. Romantic entanglements, if any, and hopes for a future with your partner? - She was in a sort of FWB relationship with Peebee for a while, but ultimately fell in love with Jaal. She’s still close friends with Peebee but they aren’t intimate like that anymore.
Major Locations: 6. Eos: Was your first settlement scientific, or military? Reasoning on your choice? - Scientific. Her reasoning was that they were here to explore, and discover things, to learn. The military things could come later, but the most important thing first off was to start learning about their new environment.
7. Eos: During the mission Making an Impression, a non-Nexus settlement requests that you mine natural gas instead of rerouting their water source.  What choice did you make, and why? - Thea chose water, because unfortunately they needed that water a lot, and while the natural gas might be lucrative, it wasn’t what was most important at the time. She offered to allow the people of the settlement into the outpost, but they declined.
8. Voeld: After discovering the Angaran AI, did Ryder choose to kill or preserve it? If preserved, was it taken to the Nexus, or turned over to the Angara? - She preserved it and turned it over to the Angara. They were still trying to find their cultural roots, and the AI was old as balls. It was bound to have a lot of important information for them that might be completely new.
9. Voeld: At the conclusion of the mission The Lost Song, did you allow Dr. Lekaaret to continue her research on the Yevara, or force her to stop hunting them? - Forced her to stop. Again, the angara didn’t have a lot of their history left, and while there was value to the research, there was a lot more value to be had in preserving the species.
10. Kadara: Did Ryder side with Sloane Kelley, or the Charlatan? Why? - Sloane Kelly. Thea’d been working hard to build a bridge with the lady, and she did kind of admire her ballsy attitude. She did not like what Sloane was doing, but believed she could persuade her to improve the situation. She got her to agree to work with the outpost, and to lighten up on things, so Thea is more or less happy with her choice.
11. Kadara: Did you recover Dr. Ryota’s Oblivion Formula, or leave it in the hands of Arenna Farenth? - Recovered it. She was using it to drug people, he was using it to help people. Seemed like an easy choice to Thea.
12. Kadara: If your Ryder completed the side quest Mind Games, how did they choose to handle the Cerberus scientists? - Thea freed the people from the device in the most painless and beneficial way possible. I forget the exact wording of the choice.
13. Elaaden: Did Ryder turn the remnant drive core over to Morda, or keep it for the use of the Nexus? - She turned it over to Morda. It felt very important to give the Krogan equal footing, and the ability to take care of themselves.
14. Elaaden: After discovering the source of Annea’s water, did Ryder allow her to continue her operation, or expose the source? - She exposed the source. Water is a resource that should be free. Thea also made SURE that the people she put in charge would distribute it fairly, she didn’t remove one monopoly just to put another in place.
15. Nexus: How did Ryder respond to the protesters who wanted their families brought out of cryo? - She sympathized a great deal, and went back to talk to everyone about it, but ultimately was convinced to disperse them before they caused harm.
16. Nexus: In the on-going series of interviews with Keri T’Vessa, did Ryder choose to highlight the stark truth regardless of the poor light it put upon Nexus leadership, or did they choose to promote a message of hope in the new galaxy? - Thea is a very positive person, and for the most part she picked the message of hope options because she genuinely felt that they were truthful. Yeah, they were having a hard time, but they were forging a path in an entirely new galaxy. That’s bound to be hard. She did choose the stark truth for the last interview, though, because she felt that everyone needed to see what really happened. So many people came together and died, they deserved to have their sacrifice remembered as it was.
Squadmates and Crew: 17. Cora: After discovering the truth about Sarissa’s actions with the previous pathfinder, did Ryder keep her secret, or inform the rest of the Asari? Was Sarissa allowed to maintain her post, or was Vederia promoted? - Thea kept her secret and allowed her to maintain her post. She felt that it was a terrible thing, but that Sarissa had made a tough call in the best way she could.
18. Liam: How did Ryder feel about Liam’s actions? Did Ryder choose to detain Verand after the mission’s end? - She felt that he’d tried really hard to do something very good, but had... well, fucked up. Ultimately she didn’t mind cleaning up his mess because the guy has an incredibly good heart and it came out of the best of intentions. She didn’t detain Verand.
19. Vetra: Was Ryder supportive of Sid’s actions, or agree with Vetra that Sid wasn’t ready to see this side of their work? Did Ryder take the risk and shoot Meriweather? - She was far too supportive of Sid’s actions for Vetra’s liking lol. Thea feels that Sid’s just trying to follow in her big sister’s footsteps, and honestly thinks she’s doing a good job of it. Just needs a bit of experience and help. She didn’t shoot Meriweather, she had civilians to keep safe.
20. PeeBee: After launching the escape pod, Peebee asked if you were mad.  Were you? How did you handle Kalinda in the moment where she begs for Peebee’s help? - Honestly Thea was more bemused and “holy shit peebs, really?” than mad. She didn’t shoot her, what the fuck? Peebee obviously cared about her and was going to save her, why would she shoot her??
21. Drack: After exposing Spender on the Nexus, his punishment options are imprisonment or exile.  Which did Ryder choose? Upon rescuing Vorn and the Seed Vault, Drack threatens the life of Spender’s associate, Aroan.  Did Ryder allow his death? - She chose exile. Let him run to whatever allies he’d made. He made his bed, let him lie in it. She let Aroan live though, he provided testimony and intel.
22. Jaal: Jaal asks Ryder to follow his lead, and not be tempted to take Aksuul’s life, but there is a real moment when Aksuul seems as though he is going to shoot Jaal in the face.  How did Ryder feel?  What did Ryder do: shoot first, or trust Jaal? - Her heart stopped for a second. She very nearly impulse-squeezed that trigger, but remembered that Jaal’d said to trust him, and made herself not shoot. That was some of the longest couple minutes of her life though.
23. Does Ryder agree with Suvi’s spiritual perspective on the universe? - No, Thea is an atheist and fairly pragmatic, spiritually, sometimes bluntly so, but she respects Suvi’s beliefs.
24. Did Ryder side with Gil or Kallo regarding the Tempest’s ongoing modifications? - Kallo. It wasn’t so much that it was being modified as it was that it was being modified... in a way that could be unsafe should something unexpected happen.
25. Was Ryder supportive of Gil’s decision to become a father? - Sort of? She was really hesitant to offer any kind of feedback, I mean, it’s a big decision and one you need to make for yourself. But it’s what he wanted to do.
The Main Story: 26. After rescuing the Moshae from the facility on Voeld, she begs you to destroy the facility, regardless of the captives still inside.  Jaal pleads with you to try and save them.  What was Ryder’s choice?  Did the Cardinal survive your encounter? - Thea chose to try to save the angara still in the facility. They could always come back and carpet bomb the place later, but those lives could be lost forever. And hell no, she shot that asshole.
27. To locate the Archon’s flagship, you need information from Resistance traitor Vehn Terev.  Does Ryder rescue Vehn from imprisonment to obtain this intel, or allow him to be executed for his crimes? - She rescued him, and got that dumbass into a better life, much as he whines about it now.
28. Upon boarding the Archon’s ship, Ryder discovers that the Kett have been experimenting on the Krogan.  Does Ryder rescue the Krogan captives, or opt instead to save the Salarian Pathfinder, Zevin Raeka? - She saved Raeka. It was a very tough decision though. She knew how much Drack cared about those guys, and she cares about Drack a lot. Ultimately though, she felt that the salarians needed their Pathfinder, and she had to make that call.
29. Which Pathfinders were available to support Ryder during the assault on Meridian?  Did Captain Dunn survive the Hyperion’s crash? - Sarissa, Avitus and Raeka. Captain Dunn survived.
30. Ryder Family Secrets: Did Ryder unlock all of their father’s memories and encrypted logs?  I’ll leave this open-ended to encourage wordy responses, but how does Ryder feel about what they learned? - Yes. Thea was... devastated, to be honest. I mean, she was thrilled that her mother was alive, but the reapers? The fact that the entire Milky Way might be just DUST now? Holy shit, she hid in a corner and cried for a little bit. She never thought once about wanting to go back, but to find out there might be nothing to go back to? That the people that came with them might be the only thing left of the Milky Way? That hit her so hard.
