When Ina woke up it took her a moment to remember where she was and notice that her dog was asleep on the sofa above her, softly snoring. The memories of the previous night came flooding back to her and a sead of frustration and anger directed towards herself, planted itself in her mind. 

She sat up, looked at the empty vial still on the coffee table, and then started to look for a piece of paper and something to write with. When she found them, she scribbled out a quick note to Silco with a shaking hand asking him for Shimmer. She called Linus over, secured the note to his collar, and hoped Viktor forgot to lock the balcony door.

She watched as her dog opened the door, and ran off back to Zaun. Ina stood up and weakly made her way over to a nearby stack of books. When she reached them, she sat down out of breath with one of her legs sticking out to the side of her, and started looking for anything that resembled a school textbook as she thought about what to do next and mentally scolded herself for what she had done.

While I find the prospect of necromancy scientifically fascinating, resurrecting or repurposing life through arcane means, it also borders dangerously on the unethical. Manipulating the boundary between life and death risks unraveling what little stability remains in our world.

(As you may have noticed, I did not begin posting until a few days ago, but I have upped the daily answer amount to 12 a day to make up the difference!)

I have received many messages wishing me a Happy Trans Visibility Day. Thank you for your support of both @jaycehousetalis and me. I have yet, however, to wish all of you the same.

Being transgender is a beautiful, complex existence and it is yours to forge. Take permission from yourself, for yourself, to become who you are. You will not receive it from the world around you. Progress can be painful, but it is full of discovery. I hope wherever you are within your process, if you are indeed transgender as well, you are finding moments of joy in your own self-creation. Every human deserves this.

Have you ever made a student cry?

I unfortunately have.

Occasionally, egotistical or cruel students needed to be reminded that I do not tolerate such behavior. I once accidentally slipped and broke a student’s computing device he was using to cheat. This made him cry to his parents.

My exams have also apparently inspired tears. In my defense, I offered my students every accommodation and opportunity possible to prepare them prior to these tests, as well as the ability to correct their mistakes afterward for partial credit. I challenged my students because I believed in their abilities, and many rose to the occasion.

It does not… it does not taste of blueberries. I do not know what it tastes like, but I can assure you with 98% certainty that it does not taste like this.
