Kind of Being: half-ling fire fae

Human Age: appearance 47 years of age but in reality he is older.

Sex: male

Appearance: found on Pinterest but with scars, burn on his back and pointed ears..

Occupation: blacksmith

Family members: unclaimed by him unless you mean the crew

Pets: Lord Mew visits

Best friend: Galen, Silent Jack, Oisìn (Daimhín he sees more like a son in a way)

Describe his/her room: he spends most his time at the forge when he’s not there he is in a fire proof room that’s hotter than hell because that’s what he likes.

Way of speaking: gruff to the point but caring, when he speaks one should listen as the advice often comes from the heart.

(He’s between 250-500 years old) as the ships blacksmith he tends to make blades or metal plating for the ship, fix the bracings and generally is allowed to do whatever he wants in the forge as that’s his area and has been since Daimhín’s father was a young lad or perhaps before then.

His daily routine depends on the day but on calm days he likes to meditate with the fire and in a way become one with it ..but that’s not super relevant.

On a busy day he could be helping brig people or out fighting and he has no qualms in following orders for no quarters…he fought in a fae war after all…

Him being half fae just means he has a weaker control over his powers or at least he should have a weaker control as well as the fact that he ages a smidge faster than the fae would… He also is more vulnerable to the cold them a full blooded fire fae. (There may be more quirks once I get to his book but for now that’s the major ones)

in the 8 years I've been actively reading fan fiction almost nothing have come close to ADOH. I've never read a piece with such unique premise and such unique character build. also your way with words is enough to make me love all your work,, how you make characters' thoughts a whole new plane and a whole new atmosphere. ahhh i just love it and I re-read it once a week. i can't wait for the next parts. take your time cuz I know the end result will be brilliant!! take care boo!!!! <3

Editorial

Evidence based practice is a new term which recently echoes in the field of health sciences. As quoted “EBP is the integration of clinical expertise, patient values, and the best research evidence into the decision making process for patient care. Clinical expertise refers to the clinician’s cumulated experience, education and clinical skills. The patient brings to the encounter his or her own personal preferences and unique concerns, expectations, and values. The best research evidence is usually found in clinically relevant research that has been conducted using sound methodology [1]

With the technological revolution, millions of results are at our fingertip through the internet. Whenever we need information or supporting evidence, majority of the health practitioners rely on internet sources. While the results are abundant in number, it is a practitioner’s discretion to analyse which ones are reliable and which are not. But as it is very subjective, it is advised that o have guidelines for assessing the results. Systematic reviews and met analyses help the practitioner to overcome this difficulty and to follow evidence based practice.

When the practitioner seeks information on any particular health care related condition, there are quite a few questions that arises: whom to ask, where to look for answers, how reliable are the sources, am I doing the right practice and the like. The sources of information can be text books, internet resources, experts in the field, other published literature like case reports and review articles.

But still the question stands that how reliable are they which apparently point to the quality of evidence. Here comes the relevance of clinical research. Clinical trials are time-tested reliable source of evidence to support or reject drugs or treatment methods. There are multiple trials conducted worldwide over a period of time. So, arriving at a conclusion based on multiple trials often end up in “not-conclusive” status. Emergence of systematic reviews attempts to tackle this problem. Systematic reviews and meta analyses are placed at the apex of the pyramid of clinical evidence, followed by Randomised controlled trials, cohort studies, case control studies, case series, case reports, editorials, animal research and in vitro researches at the base.

There are various organisations which promotes and conducts systematic reviews on clinical trials. Cochrane and DARE (Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects) are two examples to list among them. They aim to collect and extract the data from all the available data in addressing an issue and evaluate them according to the quality of evidence. As they are systematically done under specific guidelines, apparently they can be considered as the most reliable source of information. During the process of systematic review, many of he conducted researches will be excluded due to poor methodology. Eventually, the number of the sources will come down to a level which often force the authors to conclude the review stating that further research is advised due to low quality of evidence.

For these reasons, it is important to emphasise on the need of keeping up the quality of the research to follow evidence based practice in health science to deliver the best treatment for the patient.

Advances in Dentistry & Oral Health being an upcoming journal in the field of dentistry, our authors are encouraged to consider the importance of maintaining the quality of research and evidence based practice. Clearly, our journal desires dissemination of quality evidence to ensure and better life for the patients.

So I updated my theme yesterday/today (I’M PROUD CHECK IT OUT) and I made these for the “Project” tabs for my ongoing fic and universe(?)!

looked up "markiplier manor" and downloaded the first image 

screwing with temperature (-2ish, makes it more blue)

started with a black square, resized the width a ton so I could fit in a bunch of images

pulled the images in and screwed around so they looked nice

cropped the full thing so everything fit

changed the temperature to more of an orangeish

screwed around with contrast, highlights, brightness, and shadows

The alarm went off too early. Courtney got up too early. Courtney turned the shower on too early. She started singing too early. She started making any sort of noise too early. Adore rolled over and gave a loud groan. She pulled her pillow over her head. “Stop. Make it go away.” “But Adore, we’re gonna be late for breakfast.” “Don’t care.” Courtney sat down on her bed, toothbrush in her mouth. She picked up her schoolbag and rifled through the books inside, carefully checked she’d packed for each lesson. Courtney was one of those organised people that packed for each and every lesson, keeping nothing in her locker. “Geh uh Adoh.” She said, her toothbrush still in her mouth. Adore took no noticed. It looked as if she’d fallen asleep. Again. Courtney removed her toothbrush from her mouth. “Adore!” She shouted, causing a rather sleepy Adore to suddenly jolt awake. “What the fuck?” Adore yelled. It wasn’t pleasant to be yanked from her dreams in such a way. She sat up and yawned, rubbing her eyes in a desperate attempt to wake herself up. “You’re awake!” Adore was still breathing heavily from the surprise of being yelled at,“Now I am. Fuck you, Courtney.” “You can thank me later. Anyway, you needed to get up earlier today.” The look on Adore’s face was indescribable. First it was confusion, then anger. Pure annoyance. “Early? As much as Adore wanted to throw her out of the window at that moment, Courtney looked quite pretty. Unusually pretty. She usually looked presentable, but this was something else. Every button on her shirt was done up, whereas she’d usually leave the top undone and wait for a teacher to yell at her. “Wha?” “Hmm?” “Why’d you look so nice?” “Me? It was a painful reminder of an ex-boyfriend but she loved it so much that she still continued to wear it, even just for sleeping in. “Get dressed or you’re gonna end up looking bloody mess in the pics. Again.” She commanded, fixing Adore with stern look. Adore had learned it was better to just go with Courtney when she was in one of these moods. She got up and stretched, giving Courtney a semi friendly shove as she passed.

“Ok, Miss Act, I hope I don’t look too, uh… disgraceful?” Adore quipped, straightening her blouse and hitching up her skirt. Courtney didn’t want to be the one to tell her she did, in fact, look a bit if a mess. “Come here.” She sighed, undoing Adore’s messily tied bow and looping back into a neatly tied one. Adore muttered in dispute but let her after realising pulling away would be futile. “And your hair… You haven’t even brushed it.” “Too punk for that shit.” Adore laughed, flashing Courtney that million dollar smile. “Yeah, OK. You’re about as punk as my auntie’s kitten.” Adore snorted,“That’s me.” “Can I plait your hair?” “What? No.” “Please?” “No. No fucking way.” “Aww c'mon! You’ll look good in plaits!” “Nope.” “You’ll suit them!” “Absolutely not.” “You can take them out if you don’t like it. Please?” Adore resolutely shook her head but after a minute of Courtney’s pleading she’d had enough. “Fine! Jesus Christ, fine!” “Really?” “Fuck, just do it!” Courtney’s face positively lit up. She sat down on the bed and motioned for Adore to come sit with her. Adore sighed

“Don’t pull my hair!” She whined as Courtney began to plait. “I’m not!” Courtney protested, just a hint of offence in her voice. She frowned. “I know. I’m just saying, don’t.” “You’re an idiot.” “So’re you.” “Not as much as you.” “That doesn’t make sense.” Adore grinned. “I hate you, do you know that?” “I hate you more.” “Nuh-uh.” “Yuh-huh.” Adore mocked, giggling. Courtney couldn’t help but laugh along as she continued to plait Adore’s hair. “My mom used to do this, I think.” “Think?” “Yeah, when I was real little. Can’t remember properly. I wouldn’t let her when I was older.” “Aww.” “But I’ll be mad if it doesn’t look as good as hers.” Courtney grinned, tying a bow around the end of a finished plait. The pale blue complimented Adore’s black hair perfectly, “Nah. It’ll be better.”

“Ta-da!” To say Courtney was proud was an understatement. She was beaming as she watched Adore confusedly look at herself in the mirror. “I look… fuckin’ weird, man.” “You look cute!” Adore frowned, pulling on one plait,“Really?” “Yeah!” “So… I don’t look stupid?” Adore sounded skeptical, peering at her reflection with doubt. “Well, you might be stupid, but you certainly don’t look it, love.” Courtney thought she looked like a literal angel. Adore actually looked neat and tidy now. Adore glared playfully,“I’ve told you like three times already today, I hate you.” “I know. But I hate you more.” “Never. And can we go get breakfast now? Since we’re early we’ll get the decent shit!” “And who’s to thank for that?” Adore paused as if thinking and grinned,“Me. I’m the one that got up early.”

dw at the end of the ugh! masterlist i’ve stated that there’s more to come, as i intend on writing a one shot (at least) for each member in this series. the reason why jimin, hoseok and seokjin aren’t on there yet is because i haven’t fully formulated the fics for them yet. but they will come at some point. hobi is my bias wrecker too 🥺
