YOU GOT THAT RIGHT also late reply because Tumblr didn’t tell me you said this.

First there was the drama of where it was at.  We were supposed to be in Colorado for it, but the groom’s mother said hell no and thus we had to stay home.

Then there was the drama of who actually came, because it seemed to be 2-to-1 her side and it was pretty much like a VIP section of a club with a bouncer telling you if you were cool enough to get in.  I couldn’t even bring a plus one assuming I could get one in the first place.

Then there was drama over when family pictures were to be taken because someone didn’t ask when everyone was coming.

Someone: “HEY FAMILY PICTURE AT 2:30!” Me: That’s nice, I work until 3:00.

Good times.

At least the food was good and the booze free.

30 days story challenge

Day One: getting lost Somewhere in the deepest part of the Everfree Forest, Rebecca and Mia were walking together through the woods, searching for a very rare Skunk Beetle that only showed up once a year. Mia been tracking this Skunk Beetle for a quite a while, but after doing a lot of research, and learning the exact location to where to look, Mia was determined to find her ultimate prize. Rebecca was annoyed that her twin sister had to drag her out of bed just to help her find a stupid bug. Rebecca wasn't a fan of walking through the woods, especially when her fur get messy. While both of them were walking, Mia stop for a moment to grab something out of her saddle bag, she grab what look like a map of the Everfree Forest she drew, so that she know where they were going. Rebecca was about to sit on the floor, but nearly forgot that the ground was muddy. She look around and found a log nearby, and then sat down on it. Rebecca look at Mia from a distance, and then start talking to her, to see if she know where they were going the right way. Rebecca: so Mia, any idea if we're going the right direction, or you got us lost. Mia: I know for sure we are heading the right direction Becky. I just need to look at the map again, so I know we’re going the right way. Rebecca: or in the words of a famous scholar that travel the middle of the dessert, we are completely lost. Mia: I told you a million time that we are not lost. We just gone the wrong direction is all. Rebecca: wrong direction huh *she got up from sitting on the log and then walk right next to her sister side to look at the map* if we just went the wrong direction, then why on your so called map showing a tree in the middle of the path we are walking. Mia: *she wasn't sure what her sister said, but once looking at the map, her face blush finally realize that she made a mistake* ... um, whoops. Rebecca: whoops, that all you’re going to say to me. Mia: what else you want me to say Becky. I'm sorry that I made a mistake. Rebecca: that, and you should be sorry for dragging me out of bed, just to find you silly stink bug. Mia: hold on a second Becky, this isn't some Stink bug, it an extremely rare Skunk Beetle that only appear once a year at night. I been searching for it for a long time, and I need my older twin sister help to find it. Rebecca: ... You and I both know that you can't go on your own at night, because you’re still afraid of the dark. Mia: *she blush* no I'm not, I never been afraid of the dark in my life. Rebecca: then who still have a nightlight by their bed at night? Mia: ...... I need it for my pet centipede so she can see where I am. Rebecca: whatever you say Mia. Now that you gotten us lost, I'm going to use my magic to teleport us back home. Mia: No way Becky, haven’t you still gotten use with your magic yet, and teleportation is very difficult to do. Also you should be extra careful from using your magic in the first place, or you want the scary mud monster to find us. Rebecca: Mud monster, what are you talking about? Mia: Oh! You never heard the legend of the Mud Monster of Everfree. Rebecca: that sound like a stupid story that fsther told us to sleep. Mia: not really, this story was something I heard from another pony from my bug club. Rebecca: you don't say! Then how this story goes then? Mia put away the map in her saddle bag and then grab her flashlight. She put the flash light near her face, so she can make herself look spooky face. Rebecca already know this story was going to be redundant, but she sat there and listen to her twin sister. Mia: it was a dark and stormy night, a simple mail pony was on his way to send an important letter to Canterlot. The mail pony was plan to use the long route to get there, but use the shortcut through the forest would save them time. While the Mail pony walking through the woods, they heard some strange noises echoing in the air. The Mail Pony kept on walking as fast they can, hoping they get away from the scary voices. Rebecca: are getting close to this Mud Monster already. Mia: I'm getting there, don't interrupt. The Mail Pony ran fast they can, until trip over a root and landed on a pool of mud. The Mail Pony was disappoint that they were cover in mud, but the letter was safe from getting dirty. They were just about to leave and kept on going, until they notice that mud was starting to bubble around them. The Mail Pony thought to themselves that it was just a bunch of frogs about to pop out, but the Mail Pony was wrong when he saw something big coming out. The Mail Pony walk backward to see a giant Mud like creature in front of them, big enough to make a large shadow. The Mail Pony was facing the Mud Monster of Everfree Forest, and knew their life was in danger. The Mail Pony was about to run away, and soon they know it, the Mud Monster swallow them whole. Rebecca: ..... So what, that the whole story? Mia: yup, that was the whole story. Rebecca: for goodness that is our mother, that the silliest story I ever heard. Mia: it not a silly story Becky, it was actually true. Rebecca: well for a pony that a better writer than me, and dad, you should check some of the whole of that story. I mean come on, whole would believe in a story about a mud creature that lived in this forest and. Just before she could finish her sentence, Rebecca saw a Mud like creature standing behind her sister. Mia look at and notice that she wasn't saying a word. She wave her arm at Becky face, to see if she was going to make any movement. When Mia was going to say her sister name again, she heard sister yelling "Mud Monster" and then ran off to the forest. Mia was confuse of what she said, until she felt something sticky on her shoulder. Mia look behind her and saw the very thing that Rebecca scream about, and couldn't believe it was real. Mia was looking at the very Mud Monster from the story she mentioned. Mia would have run too, but froze in place do of being afraid of seeing it the first time. The Mud Monster of Everfree Forest walk towards her, and then grab something from the ground. Mia look at the rock very closely and saw a Beetle with a long white strip on it back. Mia was shock it was the Skunk Beetle she been looking for, and it was been hiding under a rock the entire time. Mia try to grab the Skunk Beetle before it fly away, but the Skunk Beetle open it wings to fly off from the rock, and landed safely above her head. Mia was very happy that she got the Skunk Beetle for her bug collection, and she can’t wait to show it to her friends at the bug club. Mia look at the Mud Monster and wanted to say thank you to it. The Mud Monster of the Everfree Forest held it arms by its face to remove the access mud from its face, to reveal a tall earth pony. Mia wouldn’t believe with her own eyes, the very Mud Monster from the story she heard, was actually a tall earth pony that was cover in mud. The tall earth pony continue removing some of the mud that was covering her body, until there was nothing left. Mia was a disappointed that the legend was a fake, but relief the monster wasn’t real. After she was done removing the mud from her fur, the tall earth pony talk to Mia and wanted to apologies for scaring her, and her twin older sister. The tall earth pony told Mia that her name was Mudpie, and she mention that she was wondering around the woods searching for a special rock mineral that she needed for an important report she doing for school. Mudpie also mention that she tend to get very dirty and cover in mud so much, that she tend to scare off ponies looking like a monster. Mia finally figure out that the friend that told her that Mud Monster of Everfree Forest, was only Mudpie being that legend. Mia wanted to ask Mudpie several more question, but then finally relies that her twin sister Rebecca ran off through the woods and she to find her quick, before she get lost even further. Mia told Mudpie that she needed to go and find her sister. Mudpie understand what Mia was saying, and told her that she need to head back, or her friend be mad at her for being late again. Mia wave goodbye to Mudpie and then head towards the woods to find Rebecca. Mudpie was happy to find the rock she needed, and made a new friend. Now the very important question that she had in mind, is to figure which way is out of this forest. The End Here my first day one story challenge. Special guest character Mudpie: ask-ickle-mod

!!!  I’m so happy you liked it!  It’s fun, sharing stuff like that.  As for your question, well...

My favorite blanket is really soft and nice against my skin, and it’s this pretty minty-blue color.

Fuzzy socks, especially fresh from the dryer.

Socks in general, honestly, but I love the way clean or brand-new socks feel on my feet when I get out of the shower and get dried off.

I really like the smell of old books.  Worn paper and ink...  *sigh*

I looooove brownies, especially the fudgy gooey melty kind.  (bonus points if they have candies or peanut butter cups in them.)

S’MORES.

Campfires and the smell of woodsmoke.

Plants growing out of cracks in the concrete.

Standing in the moonlight barefoot, after the dew has fallen and makes the grass all sparkly.

The little shifting patterns of sunlight and shadow under trees.

Seeing other people get really happy/excited about something.

The little spears of sunlight that poke through clouds on overcast days.

Vividly colored sunsets, all in pink and orange and gold and purple and red and blue.

The feeling of accomplishment and badassery when I get something done that I’d been putting off.

Butterflies.

Honeycrisp apples.

Apple cider.
