Optimus... CERTAINLY didn't expect this-- actual breakfast-- food? Looking it over, it looked amazing. Brass cakes with energon and copper powder on top, with sugar crystals! Even freshly made, too... He never expected to get anything like this, it'd been some time since he actually had... well... anything. His fuel tanks were almost always empty.

Practically the moment Smokescreen looked away, the knight dropped his usual formalities to focus on eating. It was almost frantic, like he thought the moment he'd leave it sitting there for some time, it'd disappear from his grasp and Optimus would be left with nothing, like it was just some mirage. He did everything he could to quickly regain composure and return to his formalities when Smokescreen was back to looking to him.

Scarfing down food was a habit all the way back from Optimus's mining days. If you didn't eat your tiny ration, someone else would instead... and Optimus always made sure the rest of his Autobots had rations BEFORE himself.
