how long do you suspect the gameplay time to be? 😊 i know this is a fan project so of course we cant expect too much, but i would love to dive into your game for hours and hours ❤️

According to our beta testers and our own playthroughs, a single run through takes anywhere from 2.5-3 hours. This will likely increase slightly as we continue to add visual effects behind the scenes.

Given that there are 4 possible endings per character, and maybe some secret endings too, I’d expect it to take anywhere from 5-10 hours to 100% the game:

the shorter length if you skip through scenes you’ve already done to just make different choices the second/third/fourth time around, the long length reading through everything every run through.

In total there’s over 70k words of “Novel” to this visual novel!! Hope that’s helpful! We cannot wait for you to play!

As of today 3/3, we plan on releasing Delectatio Morosa the week of March 13th!!

Our primary goal is to have it released on the earlier end of that, but as always, coding takes time and care and we may need to push it back a few days depending on the feedback of our second beta test, and depending on the severity of bug fixes.

We will give everyone a definitive date as we get closer; but once art is published it’s published, and we want to make sure we’re releasing something great.

Collecting different endings give you different achievements. Good/Canon/Neutral/Bad. Every character has one ending of each!! Better get playing and collect those endings!

Hi! The current update only fixes minor bugs. If you download it, it should retain all your saves and achievements.

In future updates, though, old saves may no longer be accessible (but achievements are still retained), so please download at your own risk.

Of course I don’t know too much about the process of creating video games so if it’s very complicated, I would understand

Hola!!

We would of course love for Delectatio Morosa to be available in multiple languages, but it would be an involved process that would happen after release.

We would be more than happy to provide the files to add a translation, which our game engine is definitely capable of doing. The translation file is just a txt with the original script lines above and the an empty line below for a translator to write the equivalent statements in their language.

But we want to be clear about the extent of work that would need to be done to keep the game functional.

There are 2 levels of translation:

Coding + Translating: someone with coding knowledge may be able to translate, then re-add the styling tags applied to the script for special effects (shaking, colors, sizes, fonts, etc.) that were originally applied. They would also have to look back to the game to fix text overflow and sentence splitting more appropriate to the translated language.

Pure Translation: someone without coding knowledge may translate the text as is, with the styling tags omitted. this means no more styling or special effects, and a possibility of text overflow making it difficult to read.

In both cases, we would generate a translation file. But in case 1, the file would retain the styling tags for a coder's reference, while in case 2, we would remove all styling tags and the text will essentially be "plain" (losing out on all the styling features).

Feel free to reach out to us if you would like to create a translation in your language, and we can provide the file for those interested in translating after release.

Will the game be windows only?

The game will release free on all platforms!! Windows, Linux, and Mac on itch.io!!

not sure if you're taking bug reports--- in any case i figured id let yall know that letters with diacritics (í, ç) are showing up as blank spaces :/ might just be my mac though?

Thank you for the report! This is a known issue and will be fixed in our upcoming patch for other minor bugs (which will also include the ability to easily plug in translation files for those interested in translating the game!)

Not gonna lie, broke my heart when I saw this game won't be available for mobile but nonetheless thankyou! For creating it, if I buy a laptop gonna be the first game to download ❤️
