the uccio “smile more” comment was i think taken so much to heart w pecco like i do think it contributes to the #GOFREE aspirational asspatch of it all… like not only does he remember it, but when he’s asked what advice would you give to your younger self? he says to smile more!!! so it’s maybe something about knowing that this whole experience is rare and fun and fleeting and WANTING to let go and live in the moment and enjoy it. but you are pecco bagnaia and that simply doesn’t come easily to you. so you have to REMIND yourself….

As someone who is desperately trying to keep a beloved pair of Levis with massive crotch wear alive: crotch mending doesn't need to look cute. Cos like, people shouldn't be staring at your crotch in the first place >_> (I choose to believe that most people are decent and are not staring at my crotch). I find a lot of mending advice disheartening when it focuses so much on the appearance of the mending, when what I need is practicality.

Sashiko is practical as pointed out above, and you don't even need to do a cute visible mending pattern with it, you can use sashiko technique and do a bland trying-to-blend-in job of it, because it is the crotch and people shouldn't be looking there so it doesn't matter what the mending looks like, as long as it gives structural support to the poor fabric that has been through so much ;_;
