if i talk about my s/o, it's flaunting. if i don't, it's fiction.

if i get praise, it's brainwashing. if someone else does, it's merit.

if i like praise, it's narcissism. if i don't, it's coldness.

this is what shifting culture has turned into. not shifting itself, the culture. and before you start: yes. i'm talking about tumblr.

someone shifts, and suddenly they're a spokesperson or a mascot or a symbol of moral failure for your projections. they help people, cult. they post, vanity. they exist, threat. someone else spirals, and it's the blogger's fault.

"so just shift." okay. and then what. the cycle of person-shifts-they-blow-up-they-get-attention-let's-kill-them-actually-until-they-deactivate-and-then-we-talk-of-them-as-a-martyr. why should a person leave just because they draw insecurity??

people have created a culture where being liked is a sin and being disliked is deserved. where people are dissected like suspects for the crime of being consistent. and you call that accountability?

people love to talk about holier-than-thou attitudes from big bloggers like they're not standing on their own wobbly soapbox doing the exact same thing. it's always "they act superior" when in reality, they're dragging others into a circlejerk of jealousy just to feel justified

let me not start on death threats because boy do i have a tune for you. say "this blogger's fanbase is dangerous." and i go, okay, here's twenty-five screenshots. threats. rape threats. death threats. physical threats. doxxing!!!!!!!! literal calls to suicide. sent to me. and suddenly it's all "well…....."

you're not fighting injustice. you're chasing clout with blood on your hands and a victim complex taped to your forehead

and i hate that i even have to say this. because in what world. i shifted. i talked. i helped. i shared opinions, like everyone else, because i'm not an idol, i'm a person with a tumblr account. i existed. that's it. and if existing is enough for people to twist themselves into that much hate, i have every right to say something back
