¿Has visto y/o escuchado sobre aquellos juegos de citas para chicas? Generalmente te llegan a la cabeza imágenes de husbandos, anime, romance, giros cliché… ¿no? ¡Pues no sucede lo mismo con Monster prom!

Por parte de Beautiful Glitch y Those Awesome Guys, este juego es un simulador de citas… cierto, pero lleno de irreverencia, chistes sexuales y absurdos, estupidez, drogas y todo lo malo (pero divertido) de vivir al máximo en la secundaria y preparatoria; ganando la guerra a esta etapa más dulce de la vida, cuando éramos jóvenes y sin miedo: la adolescencia. ¡Ah, sí!, eres un monstruo que no tiene una cita aún. Habrá que arreglar eso.

Historia

Quizá la historia no sea la más compleja que se haya visto en un videojuego pero, siendo realistas, no lo necesita, ya que se complementa bastante bien con su humor negro y los diversos finales y caminos que puedes conseguir.

Podrás usar uno de entre cuatro personajes: Yellow (Oz), Red (Amira), Green (Brian), y Blue (Vicky); los cuales tendrán tres semanas para conquistar a su cita ideal para el baile de graduación.

Tus opciones para el “prom” son seis:

Miranda Vanderbilt: una princesa sirena que es tan tierna como genocida.

Damien La Vey: un demonio feroz con gusto por la destrucción y amor por el fuego.

Scott Howl: un hombre lobo, atleta, que compensa su pequeño cerebro con un corazón estúpidamente grande.

Liam de Lioncourt: un vampiro hípster cuyo comportamiento conflictivo oculta muy bien que es un idiota adorable.

Pollly Geist: una fantasma fiestera con un hambre insaciable por todo lo que está mal.

Vera Oberlin: una grosera, pero audaz Gorgona con un despiadado sentido del negocio.

Ahora sal allí y conquista el corazón de alguno de estos chicos. Tú eliges.

Jugabilidad

Es relativamente sencillo… en cuestión de comandos. Sólo necesitas un click, ya que leerás bastante; eso es todo. Lo difícil aquí es que acepten salir contigo.

Elige entre un juego corto (aproximadamente de media hora), o un juego largo (más o menos de una hora). A partir de aquí deberás resolver un quiz bastante peculiar con el cual definirás que stats tendrás al inicio del juego. Estos son: Inteligencia, audacia, creatividad, encanto, diversión y dinero. Cada uno necesario para dar respuestas correctas y lograr tu objetivo.

Serás testigo de múltiples escenas, problemas de tu amado y/o amada, situaciones picantes, graciosas y hasta penosas que deberás resolver, todo en base a tus estadísticas, las cuales es importante que no descuides.

Al principio es probable que recibas muchos rechazos, pero eso no desanima, ya que queda la curiosidad de conocer más finales (ya sean buenos o de rechazo), finales secretos (¡oh sí!), y hasta rutas secretas con personajes extra que deberás descubrir por ti mismo.

Además, podrás jugar solo o hasta con cuatro personas, compitiendo por saber quién enamorará primero a su monstruo ideal.

El juego está completamente en inglés. Es recomendable que tengas dominio del idioma para entender con lujo de detalle los chistes y demás expresiones coloquiales.

Apartado gráfico y música

El arte es bastante agradable a la vista, cada personaje con personalidades únicas que tienes que entender para progresar con éxito en tu desventura por seducir a alguien. También puedes disfrutar de cambios en la vestimenta de cada personaje, dependiendo en la clase o situación en la que se encuentren, haciéndolo un detalle agradable.

La música es totalmente del estilo “surf”, repetitiva, sí, pero no desentona con el juego, no puedes parar de notarla, bailar (?), y reír por el rumbo que toma el juego, incluso en la música.

Opinión final

Definitivamente es algo que te recomiendo jugar.

Tal vez no sea un juego que retomes en mucho tiempo, ya que sólo basta desbloquear los finales con cada personaje, los extras y los secretos. Pero créeme, vale totalmente la pena, ya que reirás en más de una ocasión y, a veces, no podrás con las situaciones absurdas que puedes llegar a encontrar.

Consigue tu cita ideal en la escuela… que para eso es… ¿quién va a estudiar? ¿Tú? ¡Ja!
