I'm the worst at this.  I'm totally a victim of our 24/7 culture and I know that beginning medical school will only exacerbate the problem.

Since beginning to train 5 days a week for my Couch to Triathlon training new things have become clear to me that haven't really been apparent in my adult life: The two days a week that I have off, while relaxing, sure, my energy level is substantially and noticeably lower than the active days; especially when nearing 48 hrs without explicit exercise.

Maybe it's because when you're in high school you still are riding the high of expanded glucose production of your youth, firing in all directions. I don't know.

But it seems to me more and more, that the brain is in fact a slave to the demands of the body as much, if not more, than the other way around.

Take that Ego.
