hey bug boy tell me about a cool bug 🔫

UH if you want to breed superworms you have to seclude them until they become so stressed that they form into a pupae. i did this with condiment cups but none of the beetles bred afterwards and so i just have a ton of dead superworm beetles in a jar that used to hold mustard from the nations largest mustard museum

otherwise its kinda cool that male dubia roaches have wings and can "fly" but its more like gliding downwards bc they aren't able to fly up!

Lets break some files

This bash script goes back to my early days of making glitch art. the idea is basically that with near raw files like bmp, ppm or tga if I take the header of the file and save it then I can manipulate the file as if it were text using some of the basic GNUcoreutils like sed etc anyways , heres the script ( this works in place and acts directly on the files in the directory caution is advised and always always back up !)

jupiter, uranus, asteroid, stars

Jupiter - Something that makes me feel confident in myself:

I think when I'm able to get things done by their due dates it makes me feel really able— Especially if I do a really good job. Like basic example but I was so stuck on some homework recently but then once I did it my instructor gave me 100% and I instantly went from being scared I'm not gonna be able to learn the material fast enough and feeling stupid, to actually feeling like I have a brain lol hell yeah I can do stuff!!!

Uranus - One unique feature I have:

hmm not sure if I rly have much thats particularly unique.. I guess I have a good amount of facial piercings? I have 4, plus my ears used to have gauges. emo moment

Asteroid - One item I own that seems out of place for me:

uhh a giant stop sign idk why I have it still, its not the vibes I'm going for://

Stars - Things that inspire me:

steven universe lol I will never stop loving the vibes of that show. I will base my entire life aesthetics around it forever and I will draw the characters until I die

i have a question: what did you learn this semester in college? academic or other

well academically i took English Comp, HTML5, and a C# class but i really struggled with doing the work (as always) and started counseling at school. my counselor made me realize i really dont know anybody with a degree and a career in their field and i never met anyone who liked their career either and that sort of skewed my view of my future? ive been in a mentality that was kind of like "well judging by all of the adults around me, im not gonna enjoy my life under capitalism anyway, so it doesnt matter if i succeed" and i let myself waste away for a bit before realizing that i dont have to make my future suck, and im lucky to even be able to be in college given my financial status. so i guess i learned to look forward to the future, and that putting in the effort will be worth it-- which can be applied with mental health as well as academics
