Moments I love from Digimon Adventure (1999) - [6/?]

Because after so much development and traumatic moments, I enjoy some pure joy and fun. Who would have thought that the trio of Taichi, Joe and Mimi would be the funniest. Or that an enjoyable episode like this features the creatures that are Gekomons (I say that because holy shit have you seen those tongues? They have holes, that's some trypophobic nightmare)

Also for some reason Palmon is sleeping very comfortable with Taichi

Special mention to the Koshiro episode because that was a trip, and without realizing you'll be crying because Babumon tears all of the sudden (also Takahiro Sakurai is god so every episode with him on it is nice)

Digimon Adventure (Blind Watch) - Episode 24

2001: A Digi-Odyssey...this episode was bizarre af.

I feel like if I watched this as a kid I would have felt low key uncomfortable. Half of it was like a weird drug trip and the other half was just rapid fire poop jokes. They seriously said the word poop like 50 times this episode for no good reason.

Vademon looks like he's from American Dad or something. A truly hideous design.

Digimon introduced: Vamdemon, Vademon, Babumon, AtlurKabuterimon

Notes:

-The only thing getting me through this episode was Koushiro and Tentomon's friendship. They're just really cute together and I love Koushiro as a character in general. Definitely my fave duo.

-Vademon sucks Koushiro and Tentomon into a void and takes away Koushiro's "curious heart" so that he's apathetic and malleable. I thought it was kind of weird that Tentomon was just left alone, but maybe Vademon's powers don't work the same way on digimon? -shrug-

-We get the reveal that this is the point in time in which Koushiro spoke to Taichi over the computer when he was in the human world. Kind of a screwy timeline then because at the end of the episode he ends up with Yamato and Takeru. Either the last few episodes happened over a brief amount of time or Koushiro was in the void for awhile...Either way I appreciate that we got an answer to why Koushiro was acting weird.

-So apparently poop is used as currency in this world?? In the last episode they were using American dollars. Why would there be signs that say "caution poop" if the poop is money? When digimon use poop attacks are they throwing money at you? So many questions...none that I particularly care to get answers for.

-I get kinda irrationally annoyed about the lack of logic in digimon evolving. Motimon and Babumon are adorable, but there's zero connection in my mind between them and Tentomon. Why couldn't his baby form be a grub or something? They could still make that cute and blobby...

-AtlurKabuterimon (dumb name) had the most anti-climactic evolution reveal ever. Kabuterimon fought for .2 seconds before Koushiro's crest activated. Hopefully they can just jump to the later evolutions in the future because the fact that they need to evolve twice really slows things down.

-While I appreciate AtlurKabuterimon's nice 2D evolution sequence, the lack of continuity felt jarring. I wonder what the story behind them abandoning 3D animation for this episode is.

-Vamdemon was revealed a little more this episode and I'm disappointed that he's basically Devimon 2.0 :/ I guess I prefer this to Etemon though.

so,during the weekends i bought digimon cybersleuth complete edition on steam

and so far i really like it. Even though my potato laptop drastically slows down the movement speed when in the zone with a lot of objects going on.

Had a really fun time watching cyberdramon freaking obliterating a babumon with its death ray, much fun!
