Well, I built just finished building my first baby 8 sequencer but I’m not convinced I did a great job. First of all, my soldering’s isn’t exactly as pristine as it could be and I burnt the board in a few places. Secondly, the second step just does not function at all and finally it seems to drift in and out of sequences. Not sure what I did wrong because I checked all the components before placing them on the board but maybe I mixed up a resistor value somewhere or built a solder bridge (the points are VERY close together). I may be hopeless at social interaction with adults and especially the elderly but kids? Kids are my jam. Kids are the only little critters my OCD and hypersensitivity (and other more socially-inclined conditions) don't seem to act up around. And somehow they always make me smile even when everyone else seems at wit's end, I don't know if you can call me patient or just maternal but I just find kids easy. Anyway, I took my BaBy-8 with today when I took my dad to physical therapy and ended up entertaining these 4 kids from the speech therapy class. Also gave them Smarties. First time I've smiled so naturally in weeks.

Little Beau Lou We’ve Ween Waiting For You ♥

As it turns out, it isn’t the easiest task to come up with a name that all nine of us could agree on but we finally have decided, he will be called Beau Lou Wilde Wolfé (pronounced like Bo) 

Beau means beautiful in French, and he is soo precious to me. We wanted a name to go with Lou which is also a French name — My grandmother’s name (My mother had lots to do with this haha) so we sat in the living-room calling out random french words and meanings, the few we did know anyways. Of course Garrett loves tradition and wanted the baby to have an Irish name so we decided that he would have 2 middle names, Wilde is actually an Irish last name but I couldn’t resist as soon as I heard it!

On our way home from the mountains we stopped by the store to grab some trashcan bags at the store and more newspapers from a recycling bin near the store in case we needed them, I was cleaned from the creek water and mostly dressed aside the fact that I wasn’t wearing any shoes or underwear under my long thrifted dress and was sitting on a thick doubled towel with the back of my dress pulled up so I wouldn’t leak and blood onto it. I didn’t want to shove a pad and underwear and trap my insides just yet, I wanted my woohoo parts to breathe.  I sat in the front seat with the windows slightly cracked and an obviously fresh newborn wrapped in towels held across my chest sleeping. People passed by the car and no one seemed to notice anything off about the situation or even glanced our way into the windows. I wanted to yell “LOOK AT ME! I JUST GAVE BIRTH! I DID IT ALL BY MYSELF!!” at the top of my lungs so badly. 

I didn’t, I just waited in the car for Garrett to come back and just sat there holding the baby in my arms looking down at him and smiled instantly. Wow, I did it. I made him.. He is soo beautiful. A gentle splash touched his face. Another one, where was this coming from? I was crying. I wiped his face with my fingers gently as he stirred in his sleep and made an adorable soft smacking sound. I hadn’t realized it and began wiping my own face, I was so happy so why was I crying? I felt that deep down I didn’t deserve such beauty as these last few days. Ugh I hated feeling like this. I lifted the baby gently just enough to kiss his soft wrinkly face. I couldn’t wait to show his siblings.. they will love him so much.. his siblings. Oh how I missed them so dearly, it had only been less than 12 hours and I missed my babies so much, my heart started to ache for them as I held my youngest closely to me. At this point I was a puddly mess of tears, not the cute kind but the ugly snot bubble kind. These hormones were no joke. I looked up to see Garrett getting into the car and tossing the bag into the bag seat, about to grab his seatbelt but stopping in the midst.

“My love don’t cry, you’re too beautiful to have a frown like that.” He said in a soft voice as he reached his arm over, using his thumb and forefinger to lift my wet chin and look me in the eye.

That only made me cry even more. We stayed in the car for a whole 15 minutes just trying to calm me down. Now people were staring ― of course. Just thinking back on this is so embarrassing, even then I was embarrassed with myself while crying like a toddler. I just wanted to get away from myself but thankfully the ocean view on the ride home lifted my spirits and I was at ease again. I told myself I will get through it, I am stronger than my emotions and I know what I want. I am powerful and can/will do anything that I set my mind too. I have an amazing family that cares about them, I love them to pieces and they’re all here in spirit with me if not in flesh, I can feel them.

After we got home and settled down, I crawled into bed with the baby after sitting down to eat with Garrett. Checked my social media, fed a hungry little baby and napped. I woke up an hour later to feed the baby again and felt a weight across my lower hips to see it was Garrett’s arm. He must’ve crawled in bed to sleep with us, he was sleeping across from me with the baby in the middle, Beau in the middle. It was the cutest sight, and it just made me think of all that he does for the kids and I. He’s just so amazing.. but that’s for another post.

Birthed in nature? Check. Lotus birth? Uncheck. I wanted to do a lotus birth so much but at his gestation the umbilical cord and placenta were dying so fast and if you’d just seen it after 11 hours you’d be so horrified! I felt bad so we just tied it off with a piece of shoe-string and tucked the placenta away into a cooler to take home so I could dry it and turn it into tablets. I think I’ll do a post about that very soon!

You know, I love how well Star Wars keeps delivering on the droid front. The plucky droid side-kick is like it’s own little SW trope, and while I honestly should be a lot harder to sell on it by now, but I have yet to see a droid in a SW movie or tv-series that I didn’t love. 

R2-D2 and C3PO? the Classics, the originals. Anxious competence vs angry competence. What’s there not to love?

Chopper? Murderbot <3 (and held Kanan’s hand to guide him😭)

BB-8? Baby8, most huggable and a force of destruction, 10/10. 

K2-SO? “Cassian said I had to” I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!

L3-37 from Solo? You go do your rebellion, I will be cheering for you very step of the way!! You inconvenience those humans as much as you can!

BD-1? I haven’t even played JFO but even I know that BD-1 is best boy!!

And on the subject of droids, battle droid humour is HILARIOUS and no, I will not take comments.
