Now that the new Avenger sub-teams were being formed, small gatherings (meet and greets, basically) of possible applicants or transfers from other groups were pretty common around the compound. Tony, obviously, usually made himself scarce for these unless he was hungry and couldn't convince anyone to bring him a plate, and today was no different.

One day he'd be better at feeding himself, but this month hadn't panned out and honestly next month was looking kinda unlikely, too.

For this event they'd apparently invited most of Xavier's crew, and Tony wound his way through the crowd, waving at Carol where she held court by the bar, then was briefly waylaid by Hank where he ended up in a glittery party hat (they had a playdate in the workshop later that day) before he finally arrived at the sizable buffet.

He was loading up on meatballs and those tasty little eggroll things when he noticed someone wearing a...babypack? Kidsling? Questionably fashionable child transport device? Was standing and staring at the table as though it had insulted his mother. The baby looked less concerned about that, and more about his inability to make his feet reach his mouth.

"Hey, Scott—" Tony spoke up around the bright red toothpick clenched in his teeth (yay branding), "you worried about allergies or just not feeling the menu? I can have FRIDAY pull up the ingredient list if that would keep you from putting down roots over here."
