The other day, I was at a physical therapy session (for my shoulder, not my ankle, though I am in PT for my ankle as well) and chatting with another patient and the physical therapist treating us.

The other patient was feeling bummed about his slow progress, so I told him about how, despite my most recent ankle injury being a grade 1 sprain back in October and there being no visible damage from the outside, I'm still in physical therapy for it. And I will continue to be in PT for quite some time. My ankle is messed up in a complex way that requires me to be very gradual in increasing my physical therapy and very careful about not overexerting it.

The reason it's so messed up goes back to spraining it initially nine years ago. I didn't see a doctor right away (I was at college and decided I didn't have time for that) and when I did see one, I didn't get the appropriate treatment for it. My doctor didn't even mention PT, despite my injury being so bad she was worried I broke my ankle. When I sprained it again almost as horribly two months later, she still didn't send me to PT.

And the physical therapist just nodded at me and said that's very common for ankle injuries. People don't get the appropriate treatment and suffer needlessly for years.

So here's my PSA: If you sprain your ankle, see a doctor. Make sure to check whether physical therapy would be beneficial for you; it almost always is for an ankle sprain. If you are having pain, swelling, bruising, or some combination of the three a month after your injury, make a fuss at the doctor's office if they tell you to continue doing the RICE method and send you on your merry way.

I've been struggling and suffering for nine years. A third of my life. Ankle injuries are treatable. You can recover well! But you need to seek medical help early and get the right treatment.

Don't be like me.

So as a reminder my grandma now lives here in Portland with my Uncle (her son) and his wife aka my Aunt.

BUT my mom and I were visiting her at her rehab place after she was in the hospital and then SUDDENLY a knock at the door and who is it? But my Aunt, who hates our guts, and Uncle. She swings in the door open stops dead in her tracts and says "we should have called" but (said in a way as that clearly implying it was my uncle's fault for not predicting we would be there) we said "no no! It's fine!" She turns to my uncle and quietly said "I can't deal with this. Not today" like she had a really hard day and can't handle being in the same room as us on top of it lmfao

My grandma was in the rehab because she had such a severe sciatica (she was dxed at the hospital) pain that she stopped being able to walk or move. Now, funnily enough, my Aunt (who when we lived with her btw said she had lupus, which has magically cleared up cause she has never mentioned it to Gma, now says she has MS) but shockingly after my grandma was diagnosed with sciatica, now my Aunt suddenly has it too. Crazy how that happens.

Now onto one of the most disgusting things I have ever heard. So right before my grandma was in the hospital we bought her a walker which was originally going to pay us back for but after hearing about all of the people who seem to be in competition with one another to see who can financially abuse my grandmother more we decided she didn't need to pay us back and it was a gift.

So we got her this walker right? After my grandma came back from the hospital my Aunt said, to my grandmother's face "Oh when you die that walker is mine" my grandma said "No it's not Jennifer brought this for me" and just cause she's a huge cunt Aunt said " No she didn't" my grandma went "Uh yes she did, and Sierra is getting the walker"

Why the fuck would you say that to someone? God she is just the worst human being.

S'RIA IS SORRY, he knew what he did would warrant being scolded.

S'ria is quite badly injured let's... Be gentle with him.

While the game may have WoL getting back on their feet within a minute of waking, that is very much not the case for S'ria.

A major part of his injuries were to his ribs, which magic is only able to properly set and encourage regrowth, but not fully heal back to normal strength. He'll need a while until he can resume physical activities without damaging them, and even then he will still be experiencing pain for months or years.

Additionally, with him taking chest injuries -- back during Stormblood, Zenos pierced one of his lungs. While it's long healed, it does leave S'ria vulnerable to that lung failing him again if even just hit in the chest hard enough. (Which. He absolutely was, in this case.)

While most of his other injuries were able to be healed with little fuss, he's dealing with some complex fractures in his right leg. It'll eventually heal enough to fight, but it won't ever be quite the same again.)

Needless to say, the post-6.0 timeframe is not short in Snowverse, as it'll be likely 2-3 months before he is medically cleared to resume training and get back on his feet with light fighting.
