full size color image here and img desc in alt text. based on this post by @lizznotliz with additional commentary from @fireandwonder, requesting the trio cosplaying as the star wars sequel trilogy triad for a convention. hardison has extremely passionate opinions about the movies and shamelessly "fixes" their cosplay by mainly making finn and poe the lightsaber wielders while rey has the force but does not utilize it beyond marital arts. this is because in hardison's version (aka, according to his 225k jedistormpilot canon rewrite that has several long-form, suspiciously detailed pwps in the verse), finn is the main character and true hero, poe represents the resistance and is fueled by their passion, and rey is not some suddenly magical scion.
there are a couple of people who dare to whisper under their breaths about how they missed the opportunity to have a more aligned "look" with canon, but parker gives them death glares. i just think hardison would not give up the chance to act as a character with a droid companion who also rides a x-wing and can fawn over finn. parker appreciates finns straightforwardness and quest to be good despite coming from a complicated background. eliot likes finn as well but hardison was like ARMS, let the world see YOUR ARMS babe.
eliot's hair started off perfectly straightened, but every once in a while when the crowds around has cleared, hardison will yell out showtime showtime, forming a circle. eliot rolls his eyes but also does some demonstration with his staff. sometimes parker joins in with some admittedly ooc but very cool acrobatic poses with her pistol.

so um here’s my Star Wars ships in no particular order
Han x Leia (I myself have a thing for scoundrels)
Sabine x Shin (Guys this is so gay)
Din x Mayfeld (Something about this is so homoerotic)
Cara x Fennec (Can you blame me?)
Rey x Kylo Ren (Not very hard but I do ship it)
Poe x Finn (I should ship it harder but because I hate the sequels it’s kinda difficult)
R2 x 3PO (Gay droids)
Han x Lando (I am 100% convinced that after Solo they dated)
Din x Cara (Faded into the background but it’s there in my mind somewhere)
Din x Luke (Only because of the wholesome fanart of them being Grogu’s dads)

(Poe Dameron x OC! Rhoswen Jewelace.)
Chapter 8: I never had so much to lose
Last chapter ~ Next chapter
Words:1280
When Rhoswen came to she looked around confused. Where the hell were they? She sat up slowly and that’s when she saw Leia, sitting at her bedside.
“Mom? Where are we? Where’s Poe?” She sat up in a panic
“We’re on Crait, there’s an old rebel base here. Poe and the others are about to lead an attack on the First Order. They’ve landed.”
“Wait! What! I gotta…” She tried to jump put of bed only to nearly fall on her face. Leia catches her.
“Not so fast my dear. You hit your head pretty good I think you might need a day to recover.” As she says this Rhoshwen feels the thumping in her head.
“Please Mom…I need to see Poe, before he goes…I gotta tell him-”
“Tell me what Red?” Poe walks into the room with a smirk on his face, but genuine happiness in his eyes.
“Poe! Oh thank the force.” She takes his arm and looks at him “Poe…Please, whatever you’re thinking of doing…I need you to come back…I-”
“Rhoswen…Don’t say it yet…I’ve been waiting for a long time to hear it but…Not yet…tell me when I get back. Then I’ll have to come back. Right?” He smiles at her sadly.
“Don’t play Games with me Poe.” She says softly
"This is not game to me, Red." he whispers. "The way I feel it’s like nothing else, no one else makes me feel the way you do." he says, his voice lowering to a husky growl. He wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her close, her hands on his chest a surprised look on her face. "It's a storm, Rhoswen, one that I can't control. One that's taken over me."
“Then prove it. Fight for me. Show me that you need me as much as I need you, you own me as much as I own you. That this…That we’re worth the fight. I can’t lose anyone else Poe. I can’t lose you too.” Her emerald eyes piercing his as she grasps the fabric of his shirt taking in his familiar scent. Trying to find every way to tell him those three words without saying them.
“You won’t lose me Rho, Not today.” He wants to finish it by saying he promised, but he knows that’s a promise he can’t keep for sure, so instead her just leans in and takes a deep breath, Inhaling her scent, Memorizing it, he needed to treasure everything about this moment, everything about her. That’s when he hears Finn calling him. “I’ll be back Red. Then you can tell me.” He kissed her forehead before running off. Rhoswen feels unbalanced, physically and mentally. She leans against med bay bed. Leia approaches her and puts a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
“He’ll be fine. Just watch.”

Rhoswen watched as the speeders are taken out easily by the first order, When she sees the Millennium Falcon fly in, her heart jumps, She hadn’t seen her father’s ship since Rey left. As they battle goes south she relieved to see Poe slide back into the trench to safety. Everything is happening so fast, she’s chewing on her lip anxiously, she watches knowing her brother is in command, trying to kill them. As they return from a retreat she starts to feel light headed and finds some supply boxes to lean on as they try to make a plan. And that’s when it happened. Luke Skywalker walks through the hanger. Rhoswen watches as Luke walks past them to confront her brother. She hears the others arguing in the background but all she can do is stare. Seeing her brother for the first time in years…
“He's doing this for a reason. He's stalling so we can escape.” Poe’s words bring her back to those around her.
“Escape? It is one man against an army. We have to help him, we have to fight.” Finn protested.
“No, no. We are the spark that will light the fire that will burn the First Order down.” As Poe said this Roshwen felt a surge in her chest. They will succeed in the end, the have to. It’s the only way
“Uncle Luke is doing this so we can survive. We can’t waste this chance” Rhoswen says as she tries to stand from where she had been leaning, her head still pounding she starts to stumble but Poe catches her
“There's gotta be a way out of this mine. Hell, how did he get in here?” that’s when Poe notices, the ice foxes…He looks at Rhoswen
“But sir, it is possible that a natural unmapped area exists. But this installation is such a maze of endless tunnels... that the odds of finding an exit are 15,428...” C-3PO starts to say some dumb statistic.
“Shut up!” Poe and Rhoswen say simultaneously
“To one.”
“Listen.” Everyone went silent
“My audio sensors no longer detect the...”
“Exactly.”
“Where did the crystal critters go?” Finn asks. Rhoswen looks where Poe is looking. A natural exit. A way out.
“Follow me.” Poe commands. He squats down and lifts Rhoswen on his back, holding tightly on her thighs as she reaches around his neck, she wasn’t expecting this.
“Poe I can-”
“No you can’t you can barely stand straight. Just let me do this. For once Red, Accept the help.” He pulls her in tight and starts to walk towards, the place they saw the foxes go. The rest of the remaining members of the resistance look to Leia who chuckles.
“What are you looking at me for? Follow them.”
~
When they finally escape the cave system with the help of Rey they find themselves in the Millennium Falcon. Rhoswen is busying herself, looking over every inch of the ship she grew up with, every nook and cranny, running her hand along the wall. It was just like she remembered. It was a miracle that she was here, that she was back in their hands. Just as she was taking a look around she heard her name called, she turns and Poe is standing there. A smile on his face.
“You’re feeling better?”
“Yeah…I…I’m home.” She smiles but she feels the tears running down her face. She takes a step closer to him, her earlier balance issues are a lot better but Poe instinctively reaches out to steady her pulling her in gently.
“I’ve got you…” he smiles at her, pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear. His dark brown eyes looking into hers with adoration. “You’re beautiful…I don’t think I’ve ever had the chance to tell you that.” He spoke softly, holding her waist. He was half expecting her to push him away or yell at him, as he had become accustomed to at this point, but for once she stays, she smiles at him and places her hands gently on his chest.
“Can I tell you now?” she asks
“Tell me what?” He smirks at her.
“I…I love you Poe.”
“I know” He says with a smirk.
“Aye, None of that.” She hits him playfully in the chest with a grin. The story of her parent love story was well known throughout the galaxy and the last thing she needed was him mimicking her father.
“Alright! I’m kidding, I’m kidding! Don’t hit me!” He laughs. “I love you too, Rohswen…I always have.” He cups her cheek in his hand tilting her face up to him. Looking over her face. He wanted to commit this moment to memory, The second he could finally love her, the rivalry finally over, from now on they could be together, he wasn’t going to let anything get in their way now.

Ships that got disqualified for being too popular:
Jared/Evan from Dear Evan Hansen, with 1166 fics
Gwen/Morgana from Merlin with 1942 (700 with otp:true)
Scott/Kira from Teen Wolf with 2875
These were hard to make a call for, because they were stated to have a lot of background appearances but few fics focused on them, but even low estimates put them over the 500 limit
Karma Akabane/Gakushuu Asano from Assassination Classroom with 702
tbh i didn't think anything from assassination classroom was that popular, so good for them!
Toga/Uraraka from My Hero Academia with 1083
Edgar Allan Poe x Edogawa Ranpo from Bungou Stray Dogs with 2340 (like, the authors? The real authors? What is Bungou Stray Dogs about?)
Sherlock Holmes/William James Moriarty from Moriarty the Patriot with 1666
And Finn/Rey from Star Wars. Why would anyone submit Finn/Rey, I asked myself. Surely they must have thousands of fics. Well, it turns out there's only 2,189. Which is way too many to be in this tournament, but a crazy small number for a major Star Wars pairing, so my thoughts and prayers go out to you, submitter
Finally, laffayette/laurens from Hamilton and enjolras/combeferre from Les Mis were both originally on the bracket, having between 500 and 600 fics each, but I did decide to make the cutoff a strict 500, so they had to be cut. my apologies.

Sirens wailed in the background. Finn had to make a choice here and now. He could run, find Rey- no one would care in all the chaos. He could finally do what he wanted all those weeks ago. Or he could stay and fight.
For Rose.
Her face came to his mind, and he knew what he had to do. He was done running. With that, he sprinted down the hallways towards the hangar. He pulled on the yellow jumpsuit of the Cobalt Squadron over his civilian clothes, and the life support system. He grabbed a spare helmet, turned on the frequency.
"Cobalt Five, coming in," Finn said.
"Cobalt Five, get in an X-wing now," Captain Tallie ordered.
"Copy Cobalt Leader," Finn said. He hurried towards the only free one- Paige's own X-wing. He placed his hand on the ladder when he heard her.
"FINN!"
He turned to see Rose, running from across the hangar to him. He could sense her fear in the pain- fear that she'd lose him like she lost her sister, he realized with a start. He ran to her without a second thought.
They embraced. Finn looked down into the dark eyes of the young engineer he'd come to know. . . and love, he realized.
"I have to do this," he said. "I can't run anymore. It's like you told me- I have a mission to complete: protecting you."
"I love you," she said. "Finn, be careful. May the Force be with you."
"I love you too," he said. "And I promise I'll come back for you."
He then ran to the X-wing, and got into the cockpit. "I can do this, I can do this."
He had to do this.
Finn shifted the X-wing into gear, and he took off, following the pack so low, they were kicking up the blood-red Craitian sand. To cover the base location, Finn realized. Still getting used to the controls, he overcompensated, and nearly crashed. Some signals started beeping and his screens flashed at him.
"You okay, Cobalt Five?" Poe asked over the frequency.
"I'm fine, I think," Finn said. He glanced at the dashboard. "I think my shields are down."
"That's not good," Captain Tallie said. "That means one hit and you're toast."
"Black Twelve, Black Seven, protect Cobalt Five," Poe ordered.
"Roger that, Black Leader," a male and female said at the same time.
"Thanks," Finn said.
"We'd do anything for you, Big Deal," Black Twelve said.
Finn, in spite of himself, grinned at the nickname that Han Solo had given him. If he died tonight, at least he'd die surrounded by friends and knowing that Rose loved him as much as he loved her.
I'm sorry, Rose.
The X-wing was still shaking a little, but Finn was getting used to the controls. His heart pounded in his chest as what seemed like endless TIE fighters emerged from the overcast sky. He took a deep breath, and tightened his grip on the steering.
"Targets coming into view," Captain Tallie said.
"Don't hold back," Poe warned.
"And may the Force be with you," Finn added.
For that moment, they all breathed in and out collectively. This was the end, the greatest of all the battles they'd fought so far. This was the moment of life or death. There was destiny to it. Everything it seemed, had come down to this.
Green bolts whizzed past, and through luck, and intuition, Finn managed to dodge as X-wings and A-wings dropped like flies around him. The targeting computer, however, was a distraction. Finn turned it off, and fired at the enemy. He had to protect his friends, protect Rose.
"There's one on your tail!" Jessika cried. "I've got it!"
Just as she said that, there was an explosion. "Blue Three? Blue Three, come in? Jessika? Jessika!"
"I'm here!" she shouted, sounding just as relieved as Finn did.
Every moment felt like forever. It was an eternity of adrenaline and blaster bolts. So many times, his skills faltered, but when he was at the brink of falling or dying, he remembered Rose. He had to come back to her.
He didn't know what caused him to look up when he did, but when he did, he saw the Falcon soaring through the clouds. Finn could sense Rey, and Chewie, and Luke- and someone else.
"It's Rey!" he shouted. "Rey's come back to help us! We have to help the Falcon!"
"We hear you, Cobalt Five," said Captain Tallie. "We're on our way. Cobalt Squadron, protect the Millennium Falcon!"
Finn soared up with the rest of them, and shot at the TIEs.
"There's more in the atmosphere!" Captain Tallie cried. "We need to help the Last Command. Come-"
She was cut off by a blood-curdling scream. Finn knew it as a death cry. She and several others were shot down.
"What do we do?" someone shouted. "Tallie's dead!"
"So's her second in command!"
"We need to help the Last Command," Finn said. He was finally living up to his full potential. This was who he was meant to be. "We can take out the Finalizer! Hit the command center, and then take out the turrets, and we'll be able to sink it!"
There was silence for a heart-pounding moment.
"Copy that, Cobalt Leader," Black Seven said.
Finn let out a small sigh of relief- it wouldn't last for long, but that didn't matter. Every second was one where he was living, not dying. This was it.
He led the fleet into the atmosphere, where the Finalizerlurked, facing off against the Last Command.
Breathe. Just breathe.
He closed his eyes. Finn breathed in, then out. He followed his intuition, and pressed the trigger. His eyes opened just in time to see the blaster bolt fire straight into the command center, blowing up the entire thing.
"Woo!" he cried. "I got it!"
"Way to go, Cobalt Leader!" several pilots said. He then turned down and headed for the turrets. It would be deadly, but worth it. Immediately upon approach, an A-wing was fired out of the sky, and sent to the sands of Crait for all time. Finn couldn't let the same happen to him.
"Give it all you've got!" he cried. "Trust in yourselves, and in the Force! We're almost there!"
For a moment, the entire fleet of the Resistance and New Republic combined took a collective breath. In, then out. Then they fired with all the fury of all the Corellian hells. One by one the turrets blinked out, shot their last bolts. The ships deftly avoided all of them.
The Finalizer was stagnant in the air for a moment. Then it gave a great shudder before plummeting to Crait.
Cheers and screams of joy and relief filled the frequency, Finn along with them.
The TIES began to jump to hyperspace, as well as the other bigger ships, making it easy to shoot down the stragglers.
"We've done our job," Finn said. "Let's go home, everyone."
He landed the X-wing in the hangar, barely coming to a stop inside. Everyone, it seemed, was inside the hangar in that moment, come to greet the heroes of the Resistance. Finn threw off his helmet, and leapt out of the cockpit. He stood at the bottom of the ladder on the side, surrounded by the crowd and the communal energy in the Force, before spotting her distinctive ponytail.
"ROSE!" he shouted, and she turned. He ran to her, and she to him, and the crowds parted as the lovers met, embracing again, this time in victory. Finn swept Rose off her feet and kissed her, wanting this moment to be his forever. Her lips against his, sharing the energy of the Force and her soft body in his arms, pressed together in a perfect fit.
He set her down, and she grinned up at him.
"I promised I'd come back for you, didn't I?"
"Oh, Finn," she cried, and she threw her arms around his neck, her legs around his waist, the force of it nearly knocking him over. Luckily, he managed to maintain his balance, and he twirled her around.
They were together, victory was theirs, and the future was in their hands. Tomorrow would be another battle, but that didn't matter tonight as the storm raged outside. It was all out there- in here, two hearts beat as one.

@supersaiyanjedi14 "both sides are bad" When did that ever happen? The closest thing we get to somethign like that is DJ (a sellout who isn't supposed to be taken as objective) remarking that the ship they stole belonged to someone selling weapons to both sides (which says more about the arms dealer than the two sides) and Luke denegrating the Jedi (something he changes his mind about by the end). Everywhere else? The First Order are blatantly bad and the Resistance are blatantly good
Okay, let me lay this out a bit more in-depth. I could go into the Luke-Jedi stuff (which would mostly be me ranting about how Rian took away all the wrong things from the prequel trilogy, ignored the elephant in the room that is Palpatine, and leaned into the whole victim-blaming "the Jedi deserved to be genocided" nonsense for no reason other than he needed to create needless drama between Luke and Rey that justified him refusing to teach her), but I'm going to focus on DJ since that was the original point of my post.
This is what DJ says in that scene:
Finn: At least you're stealing from the bad guys…and helping the good. DJ: Good guys, bad guys…made-up words. Let's see who formally owns this gorgeous hunk. [holoscreen powers up, starts to show a slideshow of weapons] This guy was an arms dealer. [screen shows a TIE Fighter] Made his bank selling weapons to the bad guys. [screen flips to show an X-wing] Oh, and the good ones. Finn, let me learn you something big. It's all a machine, partner. Live free, don't join.
DJ is explicitly stating a kind of extreme amoral centrist perspective here: "there's no such thing and good guys or bad guys. Don't join either side." And to back up his claim, he shows Finn evidence of capitalists profiting off of both sides of the war.
Okay, cool. Capitalism and war profiteering are bad. Great high school level deduction. But this is Star Wars; usually, everything has a larger purpose (even if it's not executed particularly well). So why does DJ get to say "there's no such thing as good guys or bad guys" and have that claim remain unexamined and uncritiqued for the rest of the movie considering that the conflict between the Resistance and First Order is, all things considered, pretty black and white? Finn and Rose are both characters who have been directly harmed by the First Order's actions (Finn through being kidnapped, brainwashed, and raised as a child soldier, Rose through the exploitation of her planet and the sacrifice of her sister). And yet they have nothing to say to DJ about this?
After all...like you said, throughout the rest of TLJ the Resistance is portrayed as pretty unquestionably "the good guys." Unlike in say...Rogue One, where the darker and dirty side of fighting a guerilla war is both showcased and remarked upon on multiple times (both via Cassian and Saw Gerrera), the Resistance isn't shown to be using any questionable tactics or purposefully dealing under the table. And unlike the prequel trilogy, there's no messy, complex background political conflict underpinning the fight against the First Order. So why do we get an out-of-nowhere "both sides" subplot that ultimately says nothing and goes nowhere?
Yeah, sure, DJ's a traitor and a sellout. We're not supposed to like him or think he's right. But what he says is never actually discussed or refuted other than a prefunctory "you're wrong" from Finn later on in the film, when he sells them out to the First Order:
Finn: You murdering bastard! DJ: Oh, t-take it easy, Big F. They blow you up today, you blow them up tomorrow. This is just business. Finn: You're wrong. DJ: Maybe.
Again, none of what he says is ever actually examined. Sure, he's a bad guy, but why spend so much time with his character, dialogue, and actions to do nothing with it? Especially considering he's functionally an unnecessary character Finn and Rose never should have run into to begin with (since he's not the hacker they were sent to Canto Bight to find and they never actually talked to the one they were supposed to bring with them)?
We could just say "eh DJ is wrong, don't listen to him," but why is he here in the first place? What is the narrative function of letting DJ run around saying the things he does and acting the way he does, especially when he gets off scot-free for doing it? It never comes up again. He basically says his speech, betrays Finn and Rose, runs off with his money, and is then promptly ignored. There's no follow-through. It just adds more elements that are never addressed.
Unlike Han Solo, who is explicitly called out by Leia in A New Hope for being "mercenary" and ultimately comes back to help the Rebellion and destroy the Death Star, DJ just betrays Finn and Rose, takes his money, and leaves. Unlike Jyn "I’ve never had the luxury of political opinions" Erso, who slowly shakes off her own political amorality to join the Rebellion and sacrifice herself on Scarif, DJ's opinion never changes. Unlike the various small-time antagonists we get throughout the PT, OT, and anthology movies, there's no coherent personal narrative going on that explains why he's there. And if DJ's supposed to act as the devil to Rose's angel on Finn's shoulder about his own place in the Resistance, what purpose do his words actually serve except to set up a moment of doubt (mind you, in an ex-child soldier's mind about fighting the group that literally enslaved him) which is never explored or brought up again because the conflict in practice is so blatantly black and white?
That entire plot thread also doesn't make much sense just on a basic practical level. The First Order isn't buying and selling weapons; they're building their own stuff and taking what they aren't. Meanwhile, the Resistance is canonically a splinter paramilitary group that isn't funded by the New Republic and is both a) made up of ex-New Republic ships, re-purposed Rebellion-era weaponry, and personal fighters and b) so poor that they can't even re-fuel their own ships, and yet we're supposed to believe they're buying stuff from Canto Bight's profiteering weapons manufacturers?
This conflict has also been going on in the MAJOR background for less than 5 years; the New Republic was canonically peaceful, prone to appeasement, and had a policy of non-aggression toward the First Order (at the time, a well-funded but fringe terrorist organization operating out of the Unknown Regions). The Resistance was actively avoiding engaging in open conflict with the First Order until Starkiller due to their lack of resources and firepower. When TLJ starts, "the war" has been going on for two days. Reasonably, there's no private military-industrial complex for anyone to profit from in this particular conflict. This entire subplot comes out of nowhere, goes nowhere, and makes little practical sense for the canon that had been laid out at the time.
So what we get left with is a character whose entire narrative purpose in the movie is to give a "both sides are bad, good guys and bad guys don't exist" speech without any of the ideas he actually discusses being examined in any way, shape, or form. Meanwhile viewers are promptly shunted straight back into Resistance vs. First Order dogfights like everything's just business as usual and we didn't just spend a whole hour with DJ and his amoral centrist nihilism. Within the narrative the sequel trilogy tells, DJ is right: the Resistance blows up Starkiller in TFA, then the First Order blows up the Resistance throughout TLJ before getting semi-blown up themselves on Crait, and then the Resistance blows them up again in TROS. What else are we supposed to take from DJ's presence in a story that is determined to either ignore his words without addressing them...or prove him right?
And all this in a movie about fighting space fascists that released the year after Donald Trump got elected. It's narratively incoherent, politically irresponsible, and blatantly out-of-place in a Star Wars movie.

i have. ideas!!!!
the ideas are for either fanfics or rps for kylux and reylux :3
kylux-
idea one: setting the scene: it's arkanis, hux's home planet. he's been forced to go to his stepmother's funeral for appearances. he drags supreme leader kylo ren with him to be petty. while they're there it's revealed that gasp hux's stepmother was actually murdered. so the whole thing turns into a murder mystery with enough romantic fanfiction tropes (trapped in a closet, only one bed, etc) to fill a coffee shop au
idea two: it's pre the force awakens. kylo ren has just joined the crew of the finalizer as hux's co-commander, and hux doesn't even know what kylo looks like. the two of them are vying for power, but unbeknownst to them- snoke ships it. hard. and tbh so does the rest of the crew. the two of them find out about this and various hijinks ensue, and eventually snoke calls for an intervention. said intervention? they're roommates now, and guess what? there's only one bed :3
reykylux-
idea one: hux lives in tros because poe drags him onto the falcon. kylo and rey are doing their weird jedi mind stuff and pick up that hux is having a bit of a horny panic at being around such powerful people. kylo and rey have already been flirting/close to dating for a bit now, and now they've got their sights set on hux because he's just so cute when he's flustered. all of this is interspersed with them trying to take down palpatine plus what comes after (plus background finn x poe ofc)
idea two: rey goes darkside. she joins kylo at the end of the last jedi and the two of them end up becoming the rulers of the galaxy. hux is very much not pleased at this. kylo and rey have an idea on how to make him feel better about it (it's joining him as their third, do you see a running theme here lol)
literally either someone come into my dms to freak out with me enough to start a new wip or to start up this rp and i am not joking

Similarities Between Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
So, I don't know if anyone noticed, but ITSV has a lot of similarities to TFA.
-We see the main character's daily routine (Miles and Rey, but they come from very different backgrounds, obviously)
-The "decoy protagonist" (RIPeter and Poe) go on a secret mission alone with the mcguffin (The collider override key and the map to Luke) and end up getting captured in Poe's case, captured and killed in RIPeter's case.
-The DP gives the mcguffin to their companions and tells them to take it and go (Poe: You take this. It's safer with you than it is with me. I'll come back for you. It'll be all right!"/Peter: Take this, destroy the collider. I'll come find you. It'll be okay.")
-BB-8 saw the x-wing explosion and thought Poe died, but it's revealed later, he's alive. Miles saw Kingpin attack RIPeter but didn't think he died until he heard it on the news)
-BB-8 and Miles run off when they heard Poe and Peter died
-Someone dropped into the main character's hometown (planet in Rey's case) and found out the decoy protagonist died (well, Finn thought Poe died)
-After meeting the main character, the "foreigner" for lack of a better word fumbles and awkwardly lies about who they are (Finn: Yeah. I'm with the Resistance. I'm with the Resistance/ Gwen: I'm Gwe-aaanda. ... Yes. It's African. I'm South African. Uh, no accent though, 'cause I was raised here...")
-After the main character finds out they have powers, they don't want it.
-The main character and their new friend team up with a grumpy, jaded washout (Peter and Han) who at first hesitates to help them.
-Said jaded washout is too afraid to return home to their ex-wives
-Someone keeps saying they need to go home before deciding to stay (Peter and Rey)
-Poe and Rey are mind raped by Kylo, RIPeter and Miles are both pummeled by Kingpin
-The secondary villain fights our heroes in a snowy forest (Doc Ock vs the Spider Gang, Kylo versus Finn and Rey)
-The female lead is thrown against something and the male lead calls out for her and helps her (Rey is thrown against a tree, Gwen is thrown against a wall)
-Our heroes go to a cool old lady for help and her home is destroyed (Maz and her castle, Aunt May and her house)
-Han tells Kylo to take his mask off and is killed by him a few minutes later, Miles takes his mask off in front of Aaron/Prowler and Aaron is shot to death a minute later
-The main character makes an epic entrance showcasing their powers at the climax (Rey force-grabs Luke's lightsaber, Miles shows up in his new Spider suit)
-The main character ends up restrained and use their powers to escape (Rey is restrained to a torture chair and Jedi Mind Tricks a stormtrooper to let her go, Miles is webbed up to a desk chair and uses his venom strike to escape)
-Two characters crawl through an air vent
-Rey tells BB-8 to stay out of sight with the map to Luke, Peter tells Miles to go with the goober (override key)
-Oh, and of course Oscar Isaac has small roles in both. ;) XD

Words: 2791
Warning: Mentions past Armitage Hux x Reader, Ben Solo x Reader, Finn x Reader, and current background Finn x Rey.
A/N: I’m super late with the last three Writer’s Month prompts, but I ended up making this one longer than intended, like many of my fics, lol. Inspiration from the song Thank U, Next by Ariana Grande.

How long has it been since you’ve moved away from your hometown? Too long, apparently. There were some stores that closed down with new ones taking their place, buildings renovated and even a new road was added to cut travel time. Everything felt familiar to you, but also distant. You were born and raised here, but this was no longer your home.
When that invite for your high school reunion arrived at your apartment in the city, you debated whether you should go back. You had a lot of bittersweet memories there, but you were curious of what happened to your classmates. You’ve changed a lot since you graduated from high school and you hoped that certain people had changed for the better as well.
You went a week before the reunion, staying in a spare room of your mother’s new house. It was spacious and homely, filled with everything that your mother had always wanted, including a garden and a greenhouse in the backyard. Your parents had divorced a year after you graduated, something that had been a long time coming and they still remain friends. You could sense a heavyweight leaving your mother’s shoulders when the paperwork went through and you had helped her move out.
Throughout the week, you got situated in the spare room, making it your own for the times that you plan on visiting, as well as helping out with the garden. You always wanted one growing up, but your father was against the idea, claiming that it was too much maintenance that he didn’t want to do. It was peaceful in the backyard with fairy lights hanging around the patio. Oftentimes, you and your mother would drink a warm beverage and talk on the patio, catching up with each other and reminiscing. She had heard that some of your classmates stayed, some went to the military, and some even she hadn’t heard about in a while.
-
You were lounging in the backyard, reading an old book that you had in high school when an orange tabby hopped the fence and meowed. You bookmarked your page and sat up, seeing the orange tabby sit a few feet ahead of you, licking their paw.
“Hey, there, little one,” you said, reaching a hand out.
The tabby paused their cleaning, tentatively leaning forward to sniff your hand. When they realized you were good people, they rubbed against your palm and stepped towards you. Once they got closer, you realized the cat was female, her name tag reading Millicent Hux. Huh, you knew a Hux in high school. You had a crush on him for a year, and you remembered the whole school found out and he never spoke to you again because of all the teasing.
“Excuse me!” someone called out.
You turned away from Millicent and saw a tall and pale ginger man waving from the other side of the fence. He paused his waving when it registered just who he was waving to. You stood up with Millicent in your arms and made your way towards the fence.
“Armitage?” you asked in disbelief.
He smiled. “Yeah, that’s me. Lanky Armi,” he said with a shrug, “I didn’t know you were in town. Here for the reunion?”
“Yeah. I assume this is your cat,” you said, raising Millicent up.
“Yeah, I was about to take her out to the vet when she ran out of her carrier. Thank god she ended up here instead of hanging out by the road.” He grabbed Millicent from you, carrying her like a baby. “You look good.”
“You, too.”
He scoffed, shrugging off the compliment. “Still lanky and pale.”
“Are you going, too?”
He nodded. “I’ve seen a few of our classmates that had arrived earlier this week,” he said, hesitating to continue, “I, uh, saw Ben, too.”
“Oh,” you said, surprised.
From the way that Armitage said that, it meant that he knew or at least had an idea of what happened between you and Ben. They were close friends, after all. You never painted Ben as someone that cared for such gatherings. Sentimentality wasn’t his best trait. You weren’t sure how to feel about his presence in town.
Armitage cleared his throat, regretting about saying anything. “Well, I’ll see you around, then. Would love to stay and catch up, but this one needs her shots.”
“Alright, it was nice seeing you again, Armi,” you said, smiling, “And nice to meet you, too, Millicent.”
You walked back to your reading spot and sighed. Given the size of this town, you were surprised you hadn’t ran into anyone from school before now, and it was a pleasant surprise. Armitage was always tall and lanky, but he looked more mature and had a more lean build. He had always been a good kid, he was just easily influenced by others around him and you were disappointed that he had succumbed to it. He seemed to have gotten over that and you were glad that you could talk like friends, possibly making up for lost time. There was a classmate or two that you had ran into as adults that still maintained their immature personalities from school. You wondered how everyone else turned out.
-
Your mother had gone on a cooking spree on the first two days you were there and needed to restock the fridge. You volunteered to go grocery shopping but had to use google maps to find the address that the store had relocated to. Once there, the layout was relatively the same, just in a slightly bigger space.
While looking for a specific cereal brand that your mother insisted on eating, you heard someone clear his throat nearby. You wordless moved to the side, thinking you were in the way of something. You heard a soft chuckle before he spoke.
“(Y/n),” he said.
Your head shot up and you were met with a grinning Finn. “Oh, my god! Hi, how are you?” you asked excitedly.
“I’m good. Real good,” he said, pulling you into a hug. It was then you noticed a young woman around your age standing next to him with a sweet smile that showed off her dimples. “Rey, this is my old friend (Y/n). (Y/n), this is my fiancee, Rey.”
“Nice to meet you,” you said, turning to Rey.
She pulled you into another hug. “It’s nice to meet you, too. Finn told me a lot about his time at high school. He only has good things to say about you.”
“Well, that’s nice of him,” you said, raising an eyebrow at Finn.
He shrugged, wrapping an arm around Rey. “What can I say? I’m a nice guy.”
“I expect to hear all the embarrassing stories of him,” Rey whispered to you.
You smiled and said, “Oh, I have an arsonal full of those. Maybe we can meet up later. I’ve gotta get these groceries back to my mom first.”
Finn looks down at your cart, seeing beef, tomato sauce, vegetables, and other miscellaneous items. His eyes widened in excitement. “Is your mom making her famous beef stew?”
“Hell yeah!”
He groaned, thinking back to those times he used to come over your house for dinner and that first time he tried your mother’s beef stew. Ever since then, he always requested that she make it, or at least pack a container that he could take home and share with his family who loved it as well. His father would joke that two of you should get married once you two graduate, but marriage had never been a priority for you, and Finn knew that. You had different ideas of the future and respected the other’s decision for it, which was why your breakup was amicable and the two of you remained friendly and supportive of each other.
“I’ll see if my mom can pack some for you and Rey,” you said as you walked towards your cart.
Finn grinned, patting you on the shoulder. “I knew I could count on you. Rey, you gotta try it! It’s so good.”
“Alright, I look forward to it,” Rey said, “It was nice meeting you.”
“You, too,” you said, then asked Finn, “Are you staying over at your parent’s house?”
“Yeah, same house, too. I’ll be showing Rey around for the rest of the week, but you can stop by anytime to see my folks. I’m sure they’ll be happy to see you,” Finn said.
“Alright. I’ll see you when I see you, then,” you said before walking away.
You smiled to yourself as you left, having seen the way that they spoke and looked at each other. Their happiness was infectious and you couldn’t help but be happy for them. Your worries that you had before coming back slowly seeped away after pleasantly running into Armitage and Finn. Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all. You’re all adults now, surely it won’t be like that Romi and Michelle movie, though flying away in a helicopter looked pretty cool.
-
The park that you used to frequent seemed to have an upgrade with an added baseball field, more restroom facilities, an area with exercise equipment, and even a water fountain near the clearing away from the fields. You sat near the water fountain where there were painted picnic tables shaded by trees, a new journal and fountain pen sat in front of you as you brushed off the leaves from the table.
With your headphones on, you tried to get back into the writing zone that you’ve been hoping that your trip back to your hometown would help you with. When you left town, you went off to pursue your writing career, entering writing contests and having short stories published. Your new goal was to finish a novel. You would always start a story, but always got stuck on something and never finished it. Writing contests and published short stories could only get you so far and unless you wanted to keep churning out new short stories at a time, hoping that they’ll get through and be published, just to pay your bills, you needed to finish that novel.
You started small, writing down ideas, hoping that visually having them on the page instead of floating in your mind would help. Then, you took some of those ideas and jotted down plot points that the story could have. You continued this until you got into the flow of writing a rough draft for one of them.
Your timer went off, reminding you to head back home before it got dark. You finished your last thought before capping your pen and packing your things away. The sun hung low in the sky, a cool breeze rustling the trees, making you wish you brought a light jacket.
You got to your old car, you tried to open the backseat door that wouldn’t budge. It had always caused you problems like this, but you kept it because it at least got you where you needed to go. You sighed, yanking the door handle again before giving up. After years of forcing that door open, the handle looked like it was going to fall off.
“Still haven’t fixed that door, I see,” a voice said with amusement.
You turned to face the source of the voice and froze. Poe freaking Dameron stood in front of you, dressed in gray sweats with his military camp printed on the front and the side, dark spots stained near his armpits and his neck from sweat. He became impossibly more handsome since the last time you’ve seen him. He gave you a wide smile, one that made many of your fellow classmates swoon in infatuation at him and glare in envy at you, showing you the Poe you knew from school.
He briefly turned to open the backseat of his truck, taking out a hand towel to wipe himself down. “Back in town for the reunion?” he asked.
“Yeah. You, too?”
He nodded. “Everyone’s happy that I’m finally taking time off that’s more than two to three days. Apparently I’m a workaholic? Don’t know why,” he said with a shrug.
You raised an eyebrow. He definitely knew why. For as long as you’ve known him, once he got into something, he put his all into it. Joining a sports team? He’d practice during any free time that he had and become an mvp or team captain. Getting into music? He’d started a band that played during homecoming week and at school events. He even composed and wrote his own songs. It was his strongest and weakest trait. You loved his passion, but that passion would sometimes make him forget everything else.
“Huh, what’s your new obsession now?” you asked, leaning against your car.
Poe mirrored you with his truck as he wiped excess sweat from his hair. “Flying… it’s something that I picked up when I was in the military,” he said.
“Oh,” you said, looking down before clearing your throat to try and appear unphased, “What kind of flying?”
“After I left the military, I missed flying and travelling, so I got into doing helicopter tours in a few countries. Just a couple of years ago, I started to fly commercial airplanes. There’s a whole process with that one, but it was worth it.”
“That sounds cool. I know you’ve always wanted to fly those airplanes,” you said.
He nodded. “Yeah, funny how life works, right? You plan something, you end up doing something else, but if it was meant to be, you somehow end up where you had always wanted to go.”
“Yeah, I’m still waiting for that to happen to me,” you muttered.
“You got published, though,” he pointed out, “They’re short stories, but it’s a start. Your writing is amazing, (Y/n). I know you’ll get there.”
The corner of your lips turned up. There goes his award winning pep talks again. You didn’t know that he was even aware of the work that you’ve done. It didn’t do much for you personally, but you were glad that he hadn’t changed too much,
“Thanks, Poe,” you said, opening your driver’s seat door.
“Hey, can I say something before you go?” he asked before you could climb into your car. You paused, turning to face him. “Look, I know I should have told you that I enlisted, but I don’t regret going. I only wished that we had the chance to work it out, maybe take you with me if I could, if you wanted to. Or at the very least, parted on better terms.”
You avoided his eyes as you tried to find the right words to say. There were so many things you wished you had said on the day he told you about his enlistment. It was all too late to bring them up now. It wasn’t going to change the fact that you two broke up over it. You should at least clear the air, so there wouldn’t be any misunderstandings, though, but you were stubborn. You never wanted to admit it, but while your break up with Finn had been easy and painless, breaking up with Poe was one of the hardest things you had to go through.
“I… I understood why you did it,” you said, “And I should have stopped to think about your perspective instead of getting angry and I’m sorry. It’s my fault that we ended things like that.”
Poe sighed, knowing that there was more that you wanted to say. Another thing that you loved and hated about him was his ability to read you. When there was no reply from him, you climbed in your car, shutting the door harder than you intended. While you were turning the engine on and fiddling with the radio, Poe stepped closer, leaning a hand on the roof of your car.
“Could we meet somewhere?” he asked softly, “You know, just to catch up?”
You leaned back in your seat, drumming your fingers on the steering wheel. “I’m running some errands tomorrow. Does lunch at the usual diner work for you?”
Poe smiled. “Sure, yeah. I’ll meet you there tomorrow, then.”
That night, you sat on your bed, wondering why your heart was racing while thinking about tomorrow. It had been so long since you and Poe sat down and talked. Meeting him tomorrow meant that you would have to eventually address all the things that were left unsaid, all the questions that were left unanswered, and all the things that had happened after going your separate ways. You doubt that the two of you could start over, given your different career paths, but maybe you could at least be on speaking terms.

Callie, I miss you 🥺❤
Because I'm working on a wedding photo album for my brother currently all I can think about is how the moon boys or Poe or even Santi would feel at their wedding day???😄 Would you write headcanons for them? I wonder about big and small weddings, what they're wearing, who would cry, just idk... all I'm seeing is the boys getting married (and they all deserve it 🤧)
Love youuu ❤ I hope your week started good, are you alright? Drink enough water & take care sweetheart 😘

heyyya sunnie my love 🌻💛
sorry it took me a while to respond! i decided to do poe for your headcanon idea since i’ve been itching to write something for him :)) hope you enjoy 💞
poe dameron on your wedding day
poe, the always-so-confident, and cocky commander, is quite a nervous groom on the big day itself.
it’s a good thing you and him agreed not to see each other before the ceremony. you would have been terribly worried about how much of a jittery mess he’s been all morning.
but he simply wants this day to be absolutely perfect.
as perfect as the way you envisioned it.
as perfect as the way you are.
the ceremony starts at exactly noon, and poe could feel himself sweating underneath his formal uniform regalia, which you’d requested him to wear.
((fighting for the resistance while planning a wedding proved to be an arduous task. there wasn’t enough time to go off-world and find a fancy suit. the two of you had to make do with the things you already have though it isn’t much of a problem.))
((what matters the most is that you and poe exchange vows and commit to each other for life while surrounded by your close friends who have become family.))
“nervous are we, commander?” leia, who’s officiating the ceremony, whispers as the live music starts to perform the entrance song.
“nah, of course not. why? is it that obvious?” poe chuckles, fumbling with his hands in front of him.
finn lightly taps on his shoulder. “you got this, dameron. if you can easily fly an x-wing with your eyes closed, then saying ‘i do’ is pretty much a walk in the park.”
poe hums quietly, seemingly agreeing with his best man. he doesn’t admit it out loud, but flying an x-wing with his eyes closed was a lot less nerve-wracking than this.
“hey, don’t worry. you’re going to do just fine! any moment now, the love of your life will walk down the aisle, and all you’re going to think about is how you’re the happiest man alive,” rey soothes him calm.
thank the maker you chose her to be the maid of honor. she always seems to know what to say.
a fond smile makes its way onto poe’s face at the thought of you, and the fact that you already make him the happiest man in this galaxy and far beyond.
the small crowd's gentle aww's fill the lush open air of ajan kloss as your flower droid r2-d2 ambles down the pathway, tossing red, white, and pink petals all over the earthy ground.
bb8, the adorable ring-bearer, soon follows, rolling towards the end of the aisle and beeping enthusiastically to the melodic tune playing in the background.
when the guests stand, poe holds his breath.
finally, he sees you, gracefully making your way to him with the most radiant smile on your lips.
beautiful, just breathtakingly beautiful, poe thinks. his heart swiftly beats against his chest as your gazes meet, and he swears it feels like an absolute dream.
a tear slips out from his eye, one that he doesn’t make an attempt to hold back.
poe’s love for you is cosmic. you’re the sun, and he’s your planet, orbiting around you for an infinite time.
and he’d forever proclaim that around the base to anyone who would listen.
“hi,” you softly greet, slipping your hands into his.
hands that he will forever hold. hands that he will forever cherish.
“hi,” poe replies sweetly, finding himself speechless at the wondrous sight of you.
he doesn’t need to say anything more. his lovestruck eyes told you all which you needed to know.
the rest of the ceremony is almost a blur to poe until it came time to exchange the vows you and he wrote yourselves.
although his voice was shaky, he made it through his entire speech with minimal tears.
poe’s vows make you cry.
and as you read yours for him, it makes him cry, too.
perhaps a little harder than you did.
then, there’s the ring. his mother’s ring.
it dangled on a silver chain around his neck for many, many years.
poe still remembers those late, lonesome nights when he’d wonder if he’ll ever find someone who was worthy enough to give his late mother’s wedding ring.
and now that same ring adorns your finger, serving as a symbol of his eternal promise to you.
to have and to hold, till death do us part.
i do, i do, i do...
“it is my great honor and happy privilege to introduce to you the damerons!” leia announces gleefully at the end. “commander, you may kiss the—”
“way ahead of you, general,” poe’s laughs before wrapping his arms around you and dipping you down slightly, leaning in close.
i love you, sunshine, he mouths silently, cheeks wet and beaming oh so brightly.
i love you, too, you return, your voice a mere breath that tickles his lips.
poe kisses you, pouring all of his love and joy into it as your found-family cheers endlessly.
today had truly been the best day of his life.
and poe could only imagine the exciting adventures the universe has in store for the two of you.
a/n: pls be gentle with me on this. im still getting a feel for writing poe ;-;

Birthday Surprise
You Are In Love universe one-shot
Series Masterlist | Main Masterlist
Pairing: modern!Poe Dameron x gn!reader
Warnings: none
Word count: 1.6k
Author’s Note: another little birthday gift for y’all! This doesn’t necessarily take place after Chapter 7, just at some point in this little universe I’ve created :)
Tumblr media
You had never really loved your birthday: sure, when you were younger, you enjoyed it. It was a day all about you, where you got tons of presents and all the attention. But, as you got older, the attention made you uncomfortable and the gifts were nothing to look forward to, because you rarely got anything.
You remember being in high school, and going out of your way to buy thoughtful gifts for your friends, and delivering them to their house if you didn’t see them.
None of your friends ever went out of their way to do anything like that for you.
Your birthday often leaves you feeling alone and forgotten.
It wasn’t like you were greedy, it wasn't about getting gifts or having people lavish you with attention. You would have loved to receive a card or even just a text that said ‘happy birthday’.
Birthdays were hard enough without feeling entirely alone.
So you never really mentioned when your birthday was to Rose, or the rest of the group. You didn’t want them to feel pressured into doing something for you when they didn’t want to, you never wanted anyone to feel obligated to celebrate your birthday in any form.
You didn’t even realize that you never told her when your birthday was until a few days ago. She’d been complaining about having to train a new hire during a morning shift, and then said, “But at least you’ll be here.”
“Hate for you to find out this way, but I actually took off.”
You burst into laughter at the look of shock on her face: not because she’s upset at you, but because you very rarely take off from work, unless you’re sick or there’s an emergency.
“And why in the hell did you do that?”
“I didn’t feel like getting up early on my birthday.”
At that, she freezes. You instantly regret mentioning it, because now she’s going to feel obligated to do something for you, because she really is a sweet person, but you’re going to feel awful about it.
You can see the gears turning in her head, but all she says is, “Enjoy sleeping in.”
You push that interaction to the back of your mind: it’s the only way you won’t dwell on it for the rest of your life. And, by the time your birthday rolls around, you barely even remember that you told Rose.
You sleep in, so much so that it’s closer to the afternoon when you finally roll out of bed. You make yourself a breakfast of your favorite items, and then luxuriate in the shower, standing under the stream of water for as long as you want.
After you pull on some comfy clothes, you settle in front of the TV with old sitcoms playing and some watercolors in front of you. You spend the afternoon just like that, painting and snacking while your favorite shows play quietly in the background.
And then, there’s a knock at your door.
You really hadn’t been expecting anything, and you highly doubt that any of your family members would surprise you.
So you’re incredibly shocked when you open the door to reveal Rose, Rey, Finn, and Poe, all decked out in party hats, their arms laden with gifts and balloons and cake.
“Surprise!” Rey shouts, and you couldn’t stop the tears from flowing if you tried.
“We all hated the idea of you spending your birthday alone,” Rose is quick to explain when she notices your tears, “I’m sorry, I really should have asked first.”
“No, no” you reply, wiping your eyes, “this is… the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.” You step back to allow your friends to enter your apartment, still wiping the tears away from your eyes. You can’t even remember the last time someone put in the effort to throw you a birthday party, let alone a surprise party.
“Now I feel underdressed,” you say with a small laugh, gesturing down at your lounge clothes, “I’ll be right back.”
“Take your time, we’ll be setting up here,” Rose responds, setting down one of the many bags onto your kitchen table as you disappear into your bedroom.
You know that you don’t actually have to change, they’ve all seen you in your pajamas before, but they went through all the trouble to put all of this together for you, the least you could do was put on some presentable clothes.
When you emerge from your room, the kitchen and living room have been transformed: there are balloons and streamers all over, a cake on the kitchen counter, and a pile of gifts on your ottoman. You have to fight the urge to cry again.
Where did you get such amazing friends?
“We know it’s not a lot, but we all thought you deserved to have a little celebration,” Rose says, and you pull her into a tight hug. You knew this was all her idea, and while everyone else was clearly keen to help out, you could tell she was the mastermind behind it all.
“It’s perfect, really,” you release Rose from your grip as you talk, only to be pulled into Rey’s arms, “thank you guys, honestly.”
“Cake or presents first?” Finn asks, pulling you into a side-shoulder hug: much less smothering but no less affectionate.
“Cake first?” You look around to see if anyone disagrees, because it really didn’t matter to you all that much. What mattered is that your friends were happy after they’d put together this wonderful little party.
“It’s your big day, we do whatever you want.” Poe responds, and you’d be worried that he’s bitter if you didn’t see that gentle little smile on his face, a smile that tells you that everything’s alright.
You all make your way back to the kitchen, and you take your first good look at the cake. It’s frosted in your favorite color, and you can tell that Rose made it from the handwritten, frosted ‘happy birthday!’ across the center of the cake.
You can’t remember the last time someone actually made you a birthday cake.
Then, the numbered candles are stuck into the cake, and your least favorite part of the whole birthday celebration begins: singing happy birthday. You never really know what to do with yourself, and it always leaves you feeling awkward and uncomfortable.
But, today, you find that you don’t hate it as much as you normally do. You’re sure it has everything to do with the people singing it.
After you’ve blown out your candles, you move to cut and serve the cake, but Rose immediately shoos you away.
“Just sit and relax, let us take care of you for once.”
And, as much as you it seems wrong to admit, it feels nice to be taken care of, to be surrounded by people who love you and who want to take care of you. It’s a foreign feeling, and you don’t completely hate it.
After the cake had been passed out and eaten, you all move back to the living room to open the gifts. It still shocked you that people would go out of their way to pick out something for you, to think about the things you enjoy and then buy something for you.
All of the gifts are so thoughtful you have to keep reminding yourself not to cry. Finn got you some new brushes, after you’d complained about how yours were falling apart after so much use. Rey and Rose bought you a small houseplant, complete with an adorable little pot, after you’d mentioned wishing you had more greenery in your apartment.
It completely baffled you that you could mention something once, in passing, and your friends would remember it.
And Poe’s gift was probably the best of all. It’s a picture of the five of you, all crowded around the bar of The Resistance, from the night your mural was first displayed. It’s something so simple, but so insanely meaningful, you wonder if you even had a chance at not falling for him.
You can’t take your eyes off of it, can’t look away from your smiling faces staring back at you from the TV stand where you’d displayed the picture. It fills your heart with warmth and makes your brain all fuzzy, in a way that you can’t name but isn’t wholly unpleasant.
It’s well past midnight when your friends leave, in a flurry of hugs and promises to get together again soon and to text when they get home safely. The night was spent playing card games and eating snacks, telling each other embarrassing stories and laughing so hard you cry at each other’s expense.
It’s the best birthday you’ve had in years.
Poe sticks around, citing the cramped elevator and needing to help you clean up.
Although, not much cleaning gets accomplished. Instead, the majority of your time is spent talking, doubling over in laughter as you attempt to clean up the gift bags and wrapping paper that litters your living room floor.
Much to your dismay, Poe leaves around 1 in the morning, with a hug that lasts a little longer than it should and a “happy birthday” whispered into your ear, making a shiver run down your spine.
You try not to think much of it as he shuts the door behind him.
Instead, you decide the rest of the cleaning can wait, and you get ready for bed in record time before curling under the covers and falling asleep, all to be greeted by the best dreams you’ve had in a long time.

The Force Awakens Notes Featuring: Eli Sereta
Tumblr media
The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker
A/N: In the event that I ever do a rewrite of the sequel trilogy including my girl, I wanted to get my ideas down and share them with you! So here we go!
There may be some character information, especially establishing Poe and Eli’s relationship prior to Poe leaving for Jakku because background is important. In which case I would include some narration and scenes of Eli’s life pre-Poe and then some of their relationship dynamic
When the actual plot of The Force Awakens begins, Poe is obviously gone on Jakku and he is gone for longer than he probably should have been. Whether Eli wants to admit it or not, she’s worried about him. If asked she’ll lie, saying that he’s an important asset to the resistance and they need him back. Everyone knows better but she is determined to keep the façade up.
So she gathers some things of hers into a bag and grabs one of the less fighter-y ships the resistance has with full intention of bringing it back. Anything that’s broken (not that she’s planning on it) when she gets back, she will personally fix.
Leia comes to see her as she’s prepping though.
“You going to stop me general?” Leia sighs, “No. I just want you to be careful is all. Both of you better come home safe”
Eli is not a combat capable flyer but she is not incapable of flying a ship and she makes it to Jakku
When she eventually finds Poe he’s injured, dehydrated and practically starving. BB-8 is nowhere to be seen and Eli’s heart aches for the little droid but realistically there’s nothing she can do.
They look to the sky in time to see the Millennium Falcon flying away under heavy fire but they make it. It’s not too difficult for the two to figure out what may be going on.
Poe wants Eli to fly after them, she refuses. That ship will be easy to find, for better or for worse, and Poe is very much in need of medical attention. Despite his protests, Eli takes him home and he’s patched up.
In the meantime, Leia visits and Eli tells her all of what they saw. One thing leads to another and the resistance, with their best pilot back in fighting condition, arrive in time to aid the rag tag crew aboard the Falcon when the First Order attacks.
Eli insists on going with and bums a ride with Leia. Once the fighting is over and everyone is deemed somewhat safe, Eli charges into the forest looking for BB-8, happy to see the little guy.
The resistance regroups and Eli is among the volunteer’s to disable the First Order’s weapon. Between the two of them, Eli thinks she and Finn could figure out how to disable the weapon’s defenses so Poe and his team can destroy it.
The two share a moment, “Don’t die.” But neither of them really know how to navigate the exchange.
Eli does her best at disabling the weapons defenses, not knowing how any of the systems work and Finn not being able to help. She accidentally sets off an alert, leading to Phasma finding their location. Phasma is overpowered though and is forced to either continue the work or call the rest of the staff saying the breach has been dealt with before helping Eli figure things out, whichever makes more sense in the moment.
Then bombs are planted, Kylo Ren kills his father and is shot by Chewbacca and Eli before the two high tail it to the Millennium Falcon, blowing up Starkiller Base while they’re at it.
Eli and Chewy fly to Rey and Finn’s rescue arriving on the resistance base as the X-Wing flyers arrive.
Eli rushes to Poe but quickly becomes awkward, falling into asking him if his ship’s broken or if BB-8 is alright.
He laughs, stopping her motor mouth with a kiss and the two celebrate the battle being over and each other being safe.

In honor of
May the 4th,
Here are my top favorite ships of Star Wars, from the least favorite to the top favorite:
Kylo Ren/Ben x Rey Skywalker/Palpatine
Tumblr media
Why I like them:
Honestly, this isn’t my FAVORITE ship, since I’m not a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, nor am I a fan of bad boys x good girls. Also, the whole soulmate thing was a bit forced in last minute. HOWEVER, I like a lot of the fan art of this couple, as well as the what they could have had if things were different. I blame a lot of the fandom’s headcanons 😆 . I saw the potential in their back and forth banter in The Last Jedi, and enjoyed when Ben finally came to his senses and fought for the good side with Rey in Rise of Skywalker.
Jyn x Cassian
Tumblr media
Why I like them:
Honestly, I thought it was hilarious that one of the reviews for the movie claimed that this was the best film with a female lead because there was ‘no romance between the heroine and the hero,” because when I watched it, the shipper in me thought “well, yeah, because they all died before anything could happen 😜”. This is another ship I saw with potential because how much Jyn and Cassian influenced each other for the better, despite their rocky start. They went from almost biting each other’s heads off, to reluctantly trusting each other, to having each other’s back, to finding comfort in each other as their time ran out.
Carth Onasi x Fem!Revan
Tumblr media
Why I like this couple:
The first computer Star Wars game I played was Knights of the Old Republic, and thanks to that I went down a hole in the Star Wars Universe. Normally, I’m not a fan of Person A getting together with Person B who was partially responsible for the murder of your spouse and almost-murder-but-still-wound-up-messed-up-beyond-redemption-because-of-trauma child. However, the storytelling of KOTOR and the character arc that Carth undergoes via his interactions with Fem!Revan as well as her own development (based on the player’s choices) wonderfully portrays the power of redemption, earning trust, and forgiveness that it makes sense for this couple to end up together. This is why I pretend Carth’s cameo in KOTOR 2 didn’t happen, because the confirmation that Fem!Revan left to undo the harm she caused but was never able to reunite with Carth (who spends the rest of his life waiting for her and never knowing her eventual fate) is too sad.
Exile x Mical/The Disciple
Tumblr media
Why I like them:
The choice was either the sweet nice guy with an English accent, or the Han Solo-Copy. No offense to Atton, but when I had to pick between him or Mical, I preferred Mical. He’s a gentleman, a scholar, and shows nothing but support for the Exile even though he didn’t have that great of an opinion on the Jedi at first.
Visas Marr x Male!Exile
Tumblr media
Why I like them:
This couple admittedly has similar dynamics and even dialogue options as Fem!Exile x Mical, but with the splash of a more traumatic background for Visas and an even deeper understanding and connection. I like Visas as a character, as she is a sith only because she was basically tortured into being one, not because she’s a bad person. She loved the Exile from afar because of their similar situations of being broken away from the Force, and (if you play a kindhearted Exile) fell for him further because of his kindness. The Exile (again, should the player make the proper decisions) also doesn’t hold Visas’s past nor her connection to the main Sith Lord against her and treats her like how a normal person should be treated: with respect.
Rey x Poe Dameron
Tumblr media
Why I like them:
Yes, they bicker a lot, but their first meetings in the films and the novels were really cute. Also, they’re both really talented pilots who get along great with machines, and with great taste in friends (Hi Finn!).
Han Solo x Leia Organa Skywalker
Tumblr media
Why I like them:
The only slap-slap-kiss couple that has rights. THE Star Wars couple. Ne’er do well Rogue with a Hidden heart of Gold x Haughty Princess who loves her people and learns to loosen up? Only these two can pull it off so well.
Finn x Rey
Tumblr media
I 👏🏻 LOVE 👏🏿 THESE 👏🏻 TWO 👏🏿!!!!
I loved them as soon as they appeared on screen together. Finn can be a coward, but he’s still such a sweetheart and a good guy who’ll keep doing whatever is right. Rey is prickly and hard of trusting, but when she becomes friends with someone it’s really adorable how she gets incredibly loyal and attached to them. While Poe befriended and gave Finn a reason to leave the First Order, Rey gave him the courage and confidence to fight them. While Han Solo gave Rey a paternal mentor figure who she looked up to, Finn was the one who respected her for her strength while helping her realize it was okay for her to open up and be vulnerable. That and their interactions are always adorable and heartwarming. Whatever ship you’re on or building, and whatever your opinions may be on the sequel trilogy, I think it is obvious that Finn and Rey’s relationship with each other was so necessary to each other throughout their entire stories.

The galaxy didn’t stop for anything. Not even Valentine’s Day
And it sucked. It really sucked. Not because you and Poe ever went all out (who had the time?) but because it was one day that you should have spent together and you were both busy. It wasn’t his fault, nor was it yours. The Resistance was more demanding than ever and you both had to prioritise fighting the good fight. If you didn’t, neither of you would have had much of a galaxy to live in, let alone be together in. Despite that, Poe always made a point of reminding you how much he loved you on every regular day - it was more so in the things he did for you, like bringing you your favourite coffee every morning and leaving you little notes on the mirror in the refresher.
Unbeknownst to you, however, he had a few things up his sleeve (in typical Dameron fashion). It had started in the morning when you’d woken up to find a picture of the two of you stuck to the mirror. It was one that Finn had taken not long before you’d begun dating; you’d both been tired from a mission, and he’d come to the mess hall to find you and Poe passed out on another. You were slumped against him, his arm strewn across your shoulder and both your mouths hanging open. Even though you hadn’t quite woken up properly, you couldn’t help but grin at the picture - even more so when you saw what was written on the back.
Four years ago: the day I realised I liked you a lot more than I should have.
You tucked the photo into the pocket of your jeans, barely able to hide your smile as you headed to work.
The base itself had been decorated for the day - Leia’s doing, probably - with love heart banners strewn across the walls and colourful glitter poured in random places. You’d learnt about the latter apart when Rey had activated her lightsaber, only to get blasted in the face with a mouthful of pink and red hearts. Your joy, however, had been short lived when you’d realised that it was all over your shared office. How much did you want to bet that you’d still be finding it in the crevices of your desk next year?
‘A wonderful start to the day.’ Rey muttered, dumping the laser sword onto the table.
‘I am not cleaning that up.’ You teased.
When you took a seat at your desk, you noticed another photo stuck to the monitor of your holopad. It was from a trip you and Poe had taken to Yavin-4 as friends. Everyone at the time had called bullshit on that part, and you both knew it too. It was at the end of said trip that he’d confessed his feelings for you, and you’d had your first kiss under the moonlight in the backyard of his childhood home. It sounded very romantic, but not moments later, there had been a clap of thunder and the heavens had opened on you. The picture was of you and him wrapped in a blanket by the fire, both drenched to the bone as you shivered together. Kes had taken the picture when neither of you were looking, and he’d managed to catch Poe peering down at you, brown eyes filled with adoration. It was definitely one of your favourite photos together.
Peeling it off the monitor, you flipped it around to look at the message on the back.
Three years and eight months ago: the day I realised I loved you (even though I didn’t say it for like...another six months. Thanks for being patient).
‘Everything okay?’ Rey asked.
‘Yeah.’ You glanced up at her, forcing a smile. ‘Just kinda bummed that Poe’s been called out all day.’
‘I’m sorry.’ She placed a hand on your shoulder. ‘If it’s any comfort, I saw him sneaking around the base with armfuls of photos of you earlier.’
‘Sneaking?’ You snorted.
‘Okay, trying to sneak.’
‘Poe Dameron is a lot of things, but subtle is not one of them.’ You grinned.
The statement rung completely true: his inability to not get excited about everything and tell everyone about whatever his plans were meant that the entire base knew about his surprises before you did. When he’d proposed to you, he’d sworn to himself that he was only going to tell Finn in advance. Then, Poe had told Rey too in a moment of joy, and then Kare, and then Snap, and then Leia and before he knew it, he’d had to spend the entire day running around the place, making them promise to keep schtum. By some miracle, the message didn’t get back to you, and the whole thing did end up being a surprise.
In fact, the third photo - one you’d found in your desk drawer - was from that day. Poe had tried to take a selfie with you, only for you to kiss him just as the camera went off. Your hand was resting on the side of his cheek, Shara’s ring glinting under the flash of the camera. The picture had been his holopad background ever since, and the message on the back was almost enough to made you cry.
Two years ago: the day you promised to be with me forever, even though I’m a pain in the ass
You found the fourth photo in one of your files, not long after your lunch break. It was paperwork from a mission that you’d been filing the night before, so he must have snuck it in whilst you were still asleep. It lead you to wonder how long he’d been planning the whole thing for - knowing him, it was probably months. He managed to pull something so sweet and so personal off each year, and this was probably your favourite one so far. The fact he’d managed to do something so thoughtful and so kind without even being there was a testament to Poe Dameron himself.
The photo that fell out of your paperwork was from just over a year ago. It was one of you, Rey, Finn and Poe in one of your favourite cantinas. It had been after a successful mission, and the drinks were flowing all night, smiles hardly faltering until you all fell asleep. You were sat on Poe’s lap, his arms looped around your front and his head resting on your shoulder. The night was a little blurry - too much beer, perhaps - and you couldn’t even remember who had taken it. Either way, it was still one of your favourites, because it was your entire world contained to one single photo. The message on the back was just as Poe as the last three.
Thirteen months ago: the day I realised I was with the greatest people in the galaxy (you take top spot, but Finn and Rey are pretty cool too)
The rest of the ones that you found through out the day were all throwbacks to other important moments in your relationship. There was one of you in his hoodie, titled the day I realised you looked better in my clothes than I do and another of the two of you fixing his X-Wing, labelled the day I realised you know nothing about X-Wings. Both of your faces were smeared with grease, and you were in fits of giggles together about something. You hadn’t realised how lucky you were to have friends that enjoyed taking pictures.
By the time dinner rolled around, you’d collected about twenty photos. The fact that you hadn’t seen Poe yet completely sucked, but his little stunt had kept you smiling all day. Even if he wasn’t with you physically, you knew he was thinking about you. Hell, he was always thinking about you, not just exclusively today. His ability to bring you up in every conversation and namedrop you to anyone who would listen was testament to that.
As the day passed and the sky dimmed, you retired to your desk with some caff from the mess-hall and a pile of papers. Rey had long disappeared to do...Jedi stuff? Whatever the hell that deemed, you weren’t sure. It meant that you were left alone in the office, glancing between your files and the pile of photos you’d accumulated throughout the day with a soft smile. Your holopad occasionally beeped with messages, but it wasn’t until you heard Poe’s specified notification sound that you finally pushes aside your work to check them.
Meet me in the hangar - bring the photos.
You grinned at the message - finally.
Grabbing your jacket - actually, it was Poe’s - and tossing it over your shoulders, you flicked the lights in your office off and headed for the hangar. The hallways were pretty much empty by then; everybody else was either having dinner or spending the evening with their respective significant other.  It meant that you could easily sprint to where you needed to be, without having to worry about crashing into anyone or being reprimanded by a stingy commander.
You met Poe halfway across the room, bodies colliding together as he wrapped his arms around you and lifted you in the air. He spun you around for a moment, before placing you firmly on the ground and crashing his lips onto yours. They were warm and soft and so familiar, a welcome contrast from the pain you’d been feeling all day from missing him. The little collection of photos had only reminded you of how much he meant to you (everything) and made the yearning even stronger. His grip on you barely faltered as he pulled away, pausing to admire you for a moment.
‘Happy Valentine’s day, baby.’ Poe grinned.
‘Right back at you.’ You pressed a kiss to his jaw. ‘Is there a particular reason that we’re in the hangar?’
‘We’re going somewhere.’ His smile only grew wider.
‘Aaaand where might that be?’ You quirked an eyebrow.
‘It’s a surprise.’ He flung an arm around your shoulders, leading you towards the ships. ‘I know it’s a little late, but I spent most the afternoon begging the General to let me use the Falcon.’
‘How’d that go?’
‘Dreadfully.’ Poe snorted, pulling you closer into his side. ‘But she said yes.’
‘You’re kidding?’
You’d only been on the Millenium Falcon a few times, but it was hands down your favourite ship. There was so much history behind it - not just between you and Poe, but for the Resistance the Rebellion in general. You dreaded to think how much grovelling your husband had done on your behalf to make Leia agree to let the two of you borrow it, but it wasn’t something you were going to complain about. It was far better than being cramped into the one-person cockpit of his X-Wing; that was something you’d done many, many times and you always ended up with a back-ache.
‘Am I allowed even a clue?’ You asked, following him up the ramp and into the ship.
‘You do know what a surprise is, right?’ Poe teased, leading you through the galley.
You rolled your eyes, shaking your head with a smile. ‘You’re normally terrible at them.’
‘I think I pulled off today’s pretty well.’ He grinned at you.
You both took a seat in the cockpit. Your eyes lingered on the dice hanging up by the window for a moment -- even though Leia had originally kept them on her person, she ended up returning them to the ship for safe-keeping and good luck. Your heart always stung a little when you looked at them, just because you knew the history behind them. They held the same sort of sentiment of the ring on your finger and all the photos you’d collected today: memories. Years and years of memories, some filled with love, and some bittersweet ones. You knew, however, that your story was going to have a happier ending.
---
Poe didn’t fly for too long -- maybe forty five, fifty minutes.
You’d spent most of the journey chatting about everything and nothing, as you often did. You gelled so well together that you could easily spend hours talking, and completely forget about the world around you. It was one of the things you loved about Poe, especially when there were times that you needed to forget your surroundings. He was always an escape, and in the best way possible. A reminder that, even though the galaxy could be dark, there was always good. He went out of his way to remind you to be hopeful, and to fight for the best. And, more often that not, he would reference the two of you finding each other in the Resistance as an example of it.
‘Are you gonna tell me where we are now?’ You asked.
‘Nope.’ Poe replied. ‘C’mon. It’s not too far of a walk.’
His arm returned to your shoulders as you exited the jet, boots met with wet ground - sand.
Not just the sand, but the beach.
The smell of sea salt hung in the air, clearing your senses of the stuffy, recycled air that surrounded the base. It was clear and crisp, hitting your skin with a welcomed iciness. You could hear the sound of the ocean in the distance, slowly to-and-froing, crashing against the land with a gentle whoosh, almost as if it were greeting you.
‘C’mon.’
Poe suddenly grabbed you from behind, lifting you up in the air and catching your legs before they could hit the ground. He had one arm tucked under yours and the other under your knees, carrying with ease through the jungle and towards the sound of the sea. He held you close to his chest, brown eyes concentrating on the ground ahead of you so that he didn’t trip. He was always beautiful, but even more so under the moon-light of the evening, casting a silver glow over the two of you as he broke through the trees and out onto the plains of the sand,
‘D’you know where we are now?’ He gently asked, placing you on the ground. His arm returned to your side, snaking around your waist and pulling you back towards him.
‘Yeah.’ You smiled. ‘Four years ago, you crashed your X-Wing just over there.'
‘And you pulled me out the wreckage before the whole thing went up in flames.’ He continued the story.
‘It was my first day and I had no idea what to do.’ You remembered it with a soft laugh.
‘You saved my ass.’ He pressed a kiss to your temple. ‘And frankly, you’ve done it every day since.’
He turned so that he was facing you, one hand resting on your hip and the other on the back of your neck. For all his funny moments and grandeur, Poe Dameron could be soft as fuck. It was something that very few people every got to see, and mostly something that he saved for you, and only you. It was something you often witnessed under the covers of the dark, when it was just the two of you laying in bed together, softly murmuring about your day.
‘I love you, Poe.’ You murmured. Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t - ah fuck.
‘I love you more.’ He gave you a watery grin. ‘I did give you those photos for a reason, though.’
‘Yeah?’
He fumbled around the backpack he’d brought, producing a book. It had a picture of you, him and BB-8 on the front, with The Story of Us scribbled across the front in his mildly terrible hand writing. He flipped it open, to show several empty pages.
‘It’s dumb and cheesy as fuck, but I wanted somewhere to keep all those photos.’ He explained. ‘I know that we know our story, but it’s nice to look back at them, right?’
‘It is.’ You smiled. ‘Those photos made my whole day.’
‘I’m glad.’ He beamed back at you. ‘And we can keep adding to it. I’d like to think that this is only just the beginning.’
