STEM Conferences: Inspiring the Next Generation
STEM Conferences: Inspiring the Next Generation
Tumblr media
In ninth grade, I received an email out of the blue from the media director of Summit Elementary, a local school. She was organizing a day-long STEM conference for third to sixth grade students and invited me to be a keynote speaker.
I had to read the email several times to believe what it said—she wanted me to be a keynote speaker? Aside from class presentations, I had almost no public…

As life is giving such, I just want to have a peaceful life. Finish studying, have a good job and live until I die are just right for me. A good job here means something I want to do. That's it. No more... However, I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere. The place seems to be a city, which is crowded with a lot of people and wealthy. But then it doesn't suit to me. Sometimes, I want to go back to space where I've left to come here. I want to see the old features which are familiar to me. I want to do just the right things or so.

#icymi: On April 11th, SpaceX launched their Falcon Heavy Rocket for its first ever commercial flight! The mission was to launch and place Saudi Telecommunication Satellite ARABSAT-6A into orbit, while also landing the 3 rocket thrusters back onto their landing pads. The mission was a huge success, with the landing just 8 minutes after launch and the satellite placed in only 34 minutes! This is an amazing achievement — keep an eye out for the many more launches to come! 📷: 1️⃣SpaceX 2️⃣ Pauline Acalin 3️⃣James Rainer (USAF) 🚀 💫 🚀 #spacex #spacenews #spaceexploration #satellite #space #backtospace #nasa #elonmusk #spacexlaunch (at Launch Pad 39-A) https://www.instagram.com/backtospace_ambassadors/p/BwQltMYgle-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1g9iwrqqomjuu

We're on NPR!
We're on NPR! Check out our radio interview about Back to Space and learn a little about the event in our new blog post!
I got home from school today and my phone beeped with a text. One of my friends asked in all caps, WERE YOU JUST ON NPR? A little confused, I asked when she’d heard the radio episode and how she knew. Apparently, one of her teachers had told her it was on, and she caught the last few minutes. Here’s the link if you want to check it out!
We recorded the interview in March at an event Back to…

Our planet and our solar system originally came from a cloud of dust and gas: a nebula. Made of helium, hydrogen, and other elements, nebulae produce new stars from the dust of dead ones. Nebulae are constantly in motion, drifting through the cosmos and shifting their magnetic fields. They have names like “Butterfly”, “Horsehead”, and “Eagle” based off of their appearance. What’s your favorite nebula? #space #nasa #astronomy #nebula #backtospace #telescope #starryskies https://www.instagram.com/backtospace_ambassadors/p/BvO1UHqFQU0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=wm3c3iu570ak

One of the largest land vehicles in the world, the NASA crawler transports heavy rockets out to the launch pad. With a top speed of about 1 mph this thing won't win any races, but it will out-lift almost anything. Look to the Stars
Have you ever wanted to see a sky full of stars without the light of the buildings around you? Check out our new blog post about ambassador Gavin Syas' experience doing just that!
“It’s such a beautiful thing to see!” I told myself after each breathtaking view of the starry night through the telescopes at 3 Rivers Foundation. I’m pretty sure that’s what all of the other ambassadors there also thought. March 29th will probably be one of the most significant moments of my life due to all of the magnificent sights I saw.
