What made you get into rainworld?

Ohh, I think I saw some NorthFlowo videos on it and was like ‘hey that’s cool. I’ll learn some of the creatures names!’ Then it was like 11pm and I thought ‘hey that blue scug would be cute with the red one!’ Then searched up their names and found Bathbomb art on tumblr. So I’ve got Sugarrmoon to thank :)

Well, that’s length-wise rather than height-wise, but yes! That would be the giant river otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), fellow countrymen of mine!

In fact, saying they’re 170 cm (5’7”) from head to tail is lowballing it a little. Some individuals as long as 180 cm (5’11”) have been recorded! Which is longer than I am tall 😔

You might have noticed that giant otters have a bit of a big cat-like look about themselves. That’s the origin of their name in Brazilian Portuguese, ariranha, which is a term from the Tupi-Guarani language and means “river jaguar”. And, just like ground jaguars, giant otters are apex predators as well: they mainly eat fish, but will hunt anything from snakes, turtles and even small caimans if given the opportunity!

Besides their size, giant otters have other traits that set them apart from their smaller cousins. For one, unlike most mustelids, they’re social animals who live in familial groups of up to twenty individuals, which whom they communicate constantly through a variety of different noises. Also, unlike other species of otter, whose tails are thick at the base and pointy at the end, giant otters’ tails also start out with a thick base, but they end up flat, which helps propel them through the water. The interesting thing about it, however, it’s that it’s not flat in an horizontal way, like the tails of other semiaquatic mammals such as beavers and platypuses. It’s flat vertically, not unlike the tail of a newt!

The fight started last night.

It wasn’t just some stupid argument about hockey or chirping each other for fun. It was real, serious, and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

“You know she’s using you, right?” I had snapped at KK, pacing our shared dorm like I was trying to escape the frustration burning through me. “You’re just some shiny new toy to her.”

KK, sitting on her bed with her arms crossed, rolled her eyes. “Oh, please. You don’t know shit, Y/N.”

I scoffed. “Oh, I don’t? KK, she flirts with literally every hockey player she meets, and now you’re acting like she’s different with you?”

“Maybe she is,” KK shot back, her voice sharp.

“You’re delusional, KK.”

She stood up then, stepping closer, her expression hard. “And you’re a bitch, Y/N. Any other obvious things we want to point out?”

The words hit harder than they should have. The usual playful banter we shared had no place here, not when it was laced with real anger.

I swallowed, fists clenching at my sides. “Oh really, I’m a bitch now, Carol? Well, fuck you.”

And that was it. I stormed out of the room, leaving her standing there, probably regretting nothing.

The tension carried into morning practice.

We didn’t talk on the way there. Usually, we carpooled, filling the drive with endless chirping and music battles. But today, I rode with Lacey instead, leaving KK to get there on her own.

On the ice, it was even worse. Our usual chemistry was nonexistent. I barely looked at her, let alone passed her the puck.

KK, never one to let anything go, skated up beside me, her voice low. “Still mad?”

I didn’t answer.

“Jesus, Y/N, are you seriously this petty?”

I turned to her, my jaw tight. “Go practice with someone else, Caroline.”

Her eyes narrowed, but she didn’t argue. Instead, she skated off, pairing up with someone else. I ignored the sting in my chest and focused on drills, pretending like it didn’t bother me.

But it did.

After practice, I rushed out of the rink, still not looking at KK.

She called my name once, but I didn’t stop.

KK’s POV

I knew I fucked up.

I didn’t realize how much until I overheard Y/N talking to Lacey in the locker room.

“She really called you a bitch?” Lacey asked, sounding as shocked as I felt now that I was hearing it from the outside.

“Yeah,” Y/N muttered. “I mean, I know we joke around, but this wasn’t like that. It was real. And it sucked.”

I peeked around the corner, my stomach twisting at the defeated look on Y/N’s face.

“I just—I hate that I care so much,” Y/N admitted. “I wish I didn’t have a stupid crush on her.”

My breath caught.

Wait.

What?

My heart slammed against my ribs, my brain scrambling to process what I just heard. Y/N had a crush on me?

I barely heard the rest of their conversation before they left the locker room.

For the next two weeks, Y/N avoided me like I had the plague.

She refused to carpool with me. She didn’t sit next to me in the locker room. On the ice, she treated me like just another teammate—no teasing, no banter, just cold indifference.

I hated it.

So I tried fixing it the only way I knew how.

I left little things in her locker—her favorite protein bars, a note that said, Still mad? with a sad face, even a coffee from her favorite place.

Nothing worked.

She ignored me.

I finally snapped after practice one day. Instead of going back to my own side of the apartment, I marched straight to hers.

I knocked once. No answer.

I knocked again. Still nothing.

So I did the only logical thing—I used my spare key and let myself in.

She was sitting on her bed, scrolling through her phone. When she saw me, her face hardened.

“What do you want, Harvey?”

I shut the door behind me. “For you to stop avoiding me. And to never use my government name again.”

She scoffed. “Well, that’s not happening.”

I exhaled sharply, running a hand through my hair. “Look, I get it. I was an asshole. I shouldn’t have said that.”

Y/N didn’t say anything, just crossed her arms.

I hesitated, my throat dry. “And… I might’ve overheard you talking to Lacey.”

Her face drops. “You what?”

I swallowed. “I know you have a crush on me.”

Her eyes widened before narrowing. “Jesus Christ, KK, do you know how to mind your own business?”

“I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop! I was just… there.”

She groaned, rubbing her face. “Great. Just great.”

I hesitated. My heart was racing. I didn’t know how to do this right, how to say the things I should’ve said weeks ago.

So I just… said them.

“I like you too.”

Her head snapped up. “What?”

I took a deep breath. “I like you, Y/N. And I was being an idiot. I got defensive because you were right. That cheer girl? She was using me. And I think, deep down, I knew it. But I didn’t want to admit it. Not to you, not to myself.”

Y/N was silent, her expression unreadable.

I stepped closer. “And I think I freaked out because… I think I’ve liked you for longer than I’ve realized.”

Her lips parted slightly, but she still didn’t say anything.

So I kept going.

“I don’t want to fight with you. I don’t want you to hate me.” I exhaled. “I just want us to go back to normal. And maybe… try something more.”

Y/N blinked. “You’re serious?”

I nodded. “Yeah.”

For the first time in two weeks, her expression softened.

“…Okay,” she murmured.

“Okay?” I repeated, hopeful.

She gave me a small smile. “Yeah. But if you ever call me a bitch again, I’m slashing your tires.”

I laughed, relief crashing over me. “Fair deal.”

And when she finally, finally let me sit next to her, I knew we’d be okay.

Maybe even better than okay.

Sonic Boom Fankids

Name: Wisteria "Teri" the Badgerhog

Age: I'll write and draw her at all sorts of ages, but she's drawn as 10 here

Basic Information:

During a rough patch in Boom!Amy and Sonic's relationship, Sticks and Amy may have had three too many drinks in a "Girl's Vent Sesh" which may or may not have turned into a week of messy, messy mistakes that ended with Amy and Sticks both realizing it was unhealthy and they were better off as friends anyways. Unfortunately, the universe didn't listen and despite even Amy and Sonic finally officially getting together for real this time, Sticks ended up pregnant. Amy originally panics, but Sticks is 100% convinced she's got this, and so voila the two of them (plus Sonic, technically) become parents !!!

Teri herself is a very feral and chaotic kiddo– but only if you know her. If you don't, she's actually very silent and awkward. She's a master of the autism stare, which causes quite a bit of social isolation– not helped by her selective mutism, and Sticks' own reputation. However, she'd sooner bite her classmates than trash talk her mama, and with a crazy family like hers she doesn't need anyone else. With Sonic's encouragement though she joins the baseball team, which she's actually pretty great at! And as a bonus, she now has a weapon for when Eggman attacks the village, nice 😎👍 She's also a super fiercely protective and supportive big sister, and if anyone so much as looks at Tempest wrong, Teri is gonna wanna fight em. Family means everything to this girl, and there's absolutely no limit to how far she would go to protect and fight for those she loves.

Extra bits:

Basic Information:

During Sticks' pregnancy, Amy found herself struggling with jealousy and gender envy at the thought of being a mom, which she hid from Sticks but would vent to Sonic about a lot (even though he didn't get it in the slightest, hating every part of having a uterus). In turn, Sonic told Tails, and immediately the fox started working on a bottom/organ transplant surgery that would allow Amy to fulfill her dream, and while it took roughly two years, he did it! And Amy was overjoyed! Unfortunately, it wasn't very easy on her, since things were very shaky and some quirks were being worked out–but nevertheless Tempest is born (albeit four weeks premature). Her hypertonia is a direct side effect of her premature status, which hits Sonic and Amy pretty hard at first (Amy blaming herself and Sonic doubting he can really be a dad if he can't pass on his running skills), but they learn to grow and accept Tempest for who she is and don't try to fix her, only help her not be in pain.

In terms of personality, Tempest has all the sass and spunk her name demands, learning only from the best. She's well liked around the island and at school, but she's not popular by any means and has a tendency to be left out and sometimes even bullied on occasion (which is usually dealt with by Teri). She's very close to her big sister though, and admires her almost as much as she admires Sonic, feeling a sense of security knowing they'll always be around to protect her when she ends up running her mouth. She's not even a little bit scared of Eggman and can't even take him seriously with how much she trusts her dad and the rest of them to take care of him. Metal Sonic and Shadow... not so much. But even then, she's pretty good at faking it til she makes it back home 👍

I'll admit that does come up now and again when I'm trying to figure out reasons to launch attacks... Usually it's to further the plot or show off my new evil robot minions, but occasionally I'll also have a genuine reason! Like revenge, or to show off my new evil robot minions. Anyway, yes, I do cause trouble sometimes for entertainment. But it's even more interesting when they cause trouble on their own, haha! Did you know Omega has a crush on that badger girl, but the badger girl has a crush on the red one? Such drama~! Oh, and don't forget the hedgehogs discussing marriage, that's exciting! Not nearly as exciting as my wedding though, ahahaha!!

Kinda weird but what’s the story behind you winning a war against the university of Waterloo on r/place?

ohhh man it like...over a year ago at this point, but lemme see what I can remember

so, I wasn't around for the first r/place. i mean, I was alive for it, but I wasn't in the right circles to have an interest in participating. but i still thought it was cool. so when the second one rolled around, i was super excited to join.

now, at the time, most of the fandoms/groups i was in were well-equipped to handle themselves, so while i could join those causes, it didn't feel like I needed to be there. but then i learned that one of my favourite twitch streamers, DumbDog, was organizing to put him and his friends (chiblee, HCJustin) on the map. Nothing big. Maybe a total of like, 50x15 pixels. But as a smaller community, they definitely needed all the help they could get.

So for a while, it was the typical r/place experience. You get a picture down, one or two pixels get griefed, and you fix it. At one point, the logo for the NY Jets popped up to our right, and we became fast friends. Anytime they started losing ground, we'd charge in with reinforcements.

And then the universities showed up. On our left, in a cute little row, four crests came into being: University of British Colombia, University of Alberta, McMaster University, and University of Toronto. They slot in perfectly next to our spot. It was serendipitous.

Except apparently, the University of Waterloo disagreed. See, they wanted to go next to their buddies. But that would mean covering up part of our claim. And sure, we could keep trying to fend them off, but the problem with most of the Twitch graphics on r/place was that the audience was only engaged while the streamer was live. Once they logged off, most people jumped to another community.

But here's the thing.

r/place happened in April.

And by a stroke of luck, DumbDog happened to be in the middle of a subathon.

DumbDog was live 24 hours a day.

Our community was NON-STOP. Already invigorated by the idea of passing milestones, hitting subgoals, and making our streamer do silly bits, we were relentless in our defense. We had spies infiltrate the Universities' discord, and whenever they tried to coordinate a big takeover, we shut them down.

(funnily enough, I don't think we ever revealed ourselves. to this day, I think they blame UofT for everything)

In the end, UWaterloo had to take the L and moved themselves down. They looked very silly, being out of alignment from the other crests.

And at the very end, when the white void was consuming the canvas, you can bet your ass we vanished them in an instant.
