You know how there was a time when I posted SO. MANY. Bajifuyu fics - especially the 5+1s ones. There were like, I don't know, 30+ fics about them??

Anyways, looking back at all those fics, I wish I could rewrite them all cuz I can't believe that there were some parts that were so out of character of those two.

Sorry to everyone who had to read some of my fics that had mischaracterization- 😭😭😭

I would've tried re-writing them, but like I said - 30. Plus. Fics.

They're still a fond memory btw, don't worry. I enjoyed reading readers' comments and stuff 😂😂

a/n: in honor of season 2 and a one week holiday off university!! Oh btw the misunderstanding is not angsty at all- it's just hilarious asdfghjkl

“Is that all you got?”

“Well- Baji-sa- it's not fair that you get to be in a gang and show off to her! Coming up in that cool- that… that awesome- ugh whatever!"

"Ho? Still calling me 'Baji-san' behind my back?"

"It's not my fault the person that saved me a few years ago appeared in front of me yet again only to be my love rival!"

The blond kept on grumbling under his breath about how unfair the world was, for letting him meet his savior yet again after a few years passed only for said savior to be his… Well… love rival…

Or that's what Chifuyu would like to call him anyway.

A few months back, Baji was walking around with his new neighbor, having just moved from his old town when he bumped into a shorter blond male who looked horrified at the sight of him.

"So you're the one who has been occupying her time and mind?!" the 17-year old looking blond exclaimed, as if he was acting in a romance movie… Or something along the lines.

Baji's neighbor was simply a classmate of his back then, but she was merely just another less annoying female classmate.

Hence, why they kept in touch.

Baji's neighbor had already corrected Chifuyu's assumptions many times, but it seemed that Chifuyu insisted on having a love rival.

And that's how their so-called rivalry started.

The blond would persistently barge into his place since Baji and his neighbor often hung out there, and brought out dumb competitions.

The first time the blond was there, it finally clicked to him that Baji was the guy who helped him a few years back.

It took a while, but Chifuyu managed to stop calling him 'Baji-san' just a few days ago.

(It still slipped out sometimes, and Baji lived for those times. Stroke his ego very much.)

Back to the present…

Baji's not sure how, but the two of them were competing over who's cooler.

And then, after Chifuyu showed off his shooting skill in a shooting game, they ended up here with Baji's bike.

(Baji wouldn't lie; Chifuyu did look damn cool, looking focused and whatnot.

But he'll keep that to himself.)

Baji's glad he put on his Toman jacket, cuz he could feel Chifuyu's eyes on him.

Ehem. Right.

He's supposed to like his neighbor, according to Chifuyu's… script.

"What? Scared to get on? Thought with the way you were swinging your fists back then, you're a punk." Baji taunted, getting comfortable on his bike as he stared at Chifuyu who looked unsure.

Just get on and wrap your arms around me, damn it!

Of course, Baji didn't voice that aloud.

As expected, Chifuyu felt challenged.

With a huff, he got on - albeit a little clumsily - and settled himself behind Baji, leaving a decent distance between them.

Baji internally cursed at the distance, yet acted nonchalant, a smug grin on his lips as he warned,

"Hold on tight."

He barely heard Chifuyu acting tough, saying he didn't need to hold onto Baji before a pair of arms were immediately around him, screaming for his life as Baji sped up his bike.

Yup yup.

At least this was going according to plan.

Baji barely concealed his smile when Chifuyu held onto him tighter, stopping himself from speeding up too fast.

"Are you really gonna bring her around at this speed?" Chifuyu whispered right beside his ear as the other's face was already nuzzled in Baji's neck.

A warning would be nice, really.

They could've gone into an accident.

Baji couldn't help but scoff at the other's question, speeding up and ignoring the other complaints so they could stop at a nearby bus stop.

Once they stopped, Baji huffed and got off his bike, hands gripping on nothing as he ignored the other who was asking why Baji was suddenly in a bad mood.

Well how could I not when the guy I like keeps on bringing up about the girl that he likes???

It was hilarious at first, but now it's just frustrating!

…

Come to think of it…

Chifuyu was right behind him when Baji turned, his hands immediately on both of the blonde's shoulders as the other almost lost his footing.

"I don't like her." Baji deadpanned, eyes trained on every miniscule change on Chifuyu's features.

There's a lot of expressions on Chifuyu's face in the next few seconds: confusion, embarrassment, and then-

-and then realization.

And wow, a realization it was.

Chifuyu's eyebrows first furrowed in confusion, nose scrunching a little in thoughts before red dusted his cheeks, eyes widening in epiphany before he sputtered intangible noises, hands on Baji's chest as he attempted to create some distance between them.

Emphasize on the word 'attempt'.

"Wait- so- all this time she wasn't lying? About how you aren't interested in her? And- and and all this time you've been flexing and all that for- for what? You weren't even trying to impress her-"

"I was trying to impress you."

…

What?

"What?"

"I was trying to amuse you."

"What?"

Baji had enough, really.

He didn't know what possessed him, but the next thing he knew he had placed a hand on the back of Chifuyu's head and pulled the shorter closer, placing a short kiss on the top of the blonde's head before letting go and instantly turning around, making a beeline to a nearby supermarket.

A few steps away though, Baji stopped, murmuring something under his breath that Chifuyu couldn't pick up, before he entered the supermarket in a rush.

…

As soon as Baji entered the supermarket, he made a beeline to the corner of the supermarket before he crouched down and cover his unnaturally hot face with his hands, internally wondering if Chifuyu heard him.

Did he?

Did he?

"It was you who I was trying to impress."

Oh Baji wished he wouldn't need to face the other in the next hour.

Too bad.

He had to send Chifuyu home.

Ugh.

Once he thought he's composed enough, he stepped out of the supermarket.

Keyword: thought.

He was totally not ready for the sight.

It was sunset, so the rays were outlining Chifuyu's features so damn perfectly. The shorter male was leaning against Baji's bike, in his hands a helmet both of them didn't even bother putting before they rode the bike (plus the fact that there's only one helmet), and there's a small thoughtful frown on his lips.

Adorable.

Suddenly Baji's not ready to face the younger.

Too bad.

Chifuyu spotted him when Baji was standing by himself for a little bit too long, the younger's cheeks turning a darker shade of red before he quickly approached Baji with the helmet in hand.

There were a few moments of silence before Chifuyu stammered out a small 'umm', then inhaling sharply as he stood on the tip of his toes, struggling to put the helmet on Baji properly.

When a few minutes passed and Chifuyu was still struggling to put the helmet on Baji, the taller of the two decided to take over the task at hand; putting the helmet on Chifuyu instead.

Baji hoped it was not too obvious how much he was endeared by Chifuyu's flustered antiques.

Then?

Then they simply rode down the road, words left unspoken between them as they simply enjoyed each other's warmth.

"..."

"... I'm thoroughly impressed."
