since i've finally fully plunged into paganism now, i finally got around to sprucing up Apollo's alter 🙏🙏🙏 i'm genuinely so happy

i moved his stuff from a random tin and into an empty altoids tin since i finished all the mints finally .

he has a bandaid (a substitute for the literal antidepressants i wanted to put in there 😭), a yellow citrine palm stone, a yellow sunflower bracelet, a rutilated quartz bracelet, 2 cinnamon mints, a "The Sun" tarot card, and a bay leaf :D

OH AND HE HAS A SODA TAB!!! i put it in his previous altar and i felt bad for taking it away from him. i also had a "The Moon" tarot card in his altar, but i really wanna make Artemis an altar eventually as well, so she'll have her card there <3 i can't light any incense rn w/o anyone asking questions (i'm in a safe environment i just . hate being perceived (ironic for a reality shifter)) sooo i used a baoding ball as a bell and rang it around the altar. does that work for cleansing the same as it does for tarot cards?? i may never know . . /silly

i absolutely want to print out a picture of him and tape it on the inside, but 1. i'd really have to figure out how big the photo needs to be, and 2. we've been having printer problems saurr,,....

but anyways i'm genuinely so proud of myself . finally an upgrade.

i have like . so many gods i'd love to make an altar for. besides Apollo, i'm severely leaning towards Demeter and Hestia as well. they just feel so familial to me?? i would love to make Hypnos an altar as well. and i also really adore Clotho, Lachesis, Atropos, and Hedone but i haven't seen anyone talk much about them so far, but that doesn't mean i can't make them some sort of.. something.. right?

for all my info, i've been watching this video over the course of the last few days (i'm literally only like a few minutes into the first hour of the video LMFAO but i digress . after this video, i feel like i'll be fairly confident in my knowledge of the gods, but the learning phase is never over, in any case. i also really want to look into norse pagan gods, slavic pagan gods, and luciferianism!!! i saw someone on the #rodnovery tag the other day talking about Marzanna and . i am obsessed and need to know everything about her as soon as possible. she is like . idk i've always felt deeply intertwined with winter and oh my goodness . sobs

i am going to finally start posting what I’ve been working on!!!

my girlfriend and I have been world-building together for a homebrew pathfinder campaign that she started running for us and some friends- this is a character i’ve had for 3 years now, but only really started developing her story and whirling her around in my brain at mach speeds in the last couple months or so

i’ll put some lore and a couple other sketches under the cut. i’m also going to try and set up a queue for the other art and sketches i’ve made for the campaign so far, so watch out for that!

Have you heard of a whale fall?

Imagine being a creature living on the bottom of the ocean floor- life is hard. It's cold, it's dark, food is scarce. Suddenly, a giant, incomprehensible being floats down from the heavens. You and hundreds, maybe thousands of organisms clamor to the remains of the beast, a sudden beacon of prosperity in this wasteland, desperate to get even a scrap of its of life-giving nutrients. Every creature that partakes will have a piece of that being inside of them forever- fueling them, giving them life, becoming a part of them. Do you think these creatures would worship such a being? Would they consider it a god? Salvation? In the world of Omna, remnants of old gods past have fallen down from the divine realm and settled in the mortal plane. Their remains are what have created the landscapes of this world (mountain ranges, valleys, islands, etc). Mortals who live and dwell upon the remains find themselves changed slowly throughout the generations- changed by the faint fragments of the gods lingering power. --------------------------------------------------------

ok. now for my character Name: Felise Pfeiffer (Fell) Age: 19 Class: Cosmos Oracle Background: Scholar (Arcane) Felise is a cosmos oracle- which means her powers come at the cost of a curse that slowly takes over her body. Instead of something like stars, I wanted her curse to appear as this sort of.... corrupted, glitchy, chaos-y aura. It's very closely tied to her emotions, so when she gets really worked up, the static progressively expands around her. After she was "cursed", if she let her emotions get away from her, she risked hurting herself or other students at her academy. In order to avoid becoming a threat to the other students and faculty, and ultimately getting kicked out of school, she devised a number of strategies to help keep her emotions in check. (mechanically this is her settle emotions/refocus action. I'd like to think she uses the time to focus on slowing down her breathing. She uses her dancing lights cantrip to help- i imagine her spinning the lights around in her hands meditatively, kind of like baoding balls if you know what those are) (also yes, her curse magic manifesting is the equivalent of a panic attack) She's covered up a lot of her body to try and hide as much of it as possible, but her hair is always a dead giveaway. She leaves her fingers exposed since it's easier to channel magic through exposed skin (gloves, unless made of a special magic-conducting material, tend to dampen spells just a bit) - but this means others can see her fingers start to shift into static as she uses her cursed magic. I had a lot of really intense anxiety in junior high/high school/college, so she's become a really neat vessel for me to conceptualize and process those experiences and emotions. But, like, instead of having undiagnozed ADHD and RSD she gets like. cool magical girl powers BIO: Felise was the sole child of local inventor and archeologist, Atticus Pfeiffer. Her father's lifelong devotion was to study and uncover the mysteries of the ancient winged people known as the Featherfolk, who had seemingly vanished some 1000 years before. She grew up in a cottage built on the coast of a mysterious bird-shaped lake, where she and her father would excavate broken murals, walls of hieroglyphs, and other artifacts that hinted at the lives of this forgotten feathered-society. Until just under 10 years ago- when her father mysteriously vanished. From then on, reports of strange attacks began sprouting up all over Aton and other neighboring regions. Attacks fronted by giant, chimera-like bird monsters that would descend from the sky to snatch up unsuspecting victims- carrying them away to some unknown in the sky. Felise did her best to pick up the pieces of her father's research- hoping to find the cause behind the sudden appearance of these monstrous aberrations, the reason for their attacks, and maybe, just maybe, where her father disappeared to all those years ago.

Alright here's what I got for Gusto stuff:

He's essentially a giant Baoding Ball(basically they're these two balls with chimes inside that ring when they're moved) so whenever he moves he makes a jingling sound(and there's a sound of bells whenever he laughs)

Instead of training under some other cloud dragon(like in his canon story-) I came up with the idea of Gusto training under the Cloudbreather Dragon himself from Superchargers, since that would fit more with the sumo wrestler thing Gusto's got going on

(This is kinda irrelevant but on my roleplay blog he is, slowly becoming a God of the Air Element-)

And I like to think he sleeps in a meditating position

a dragon that breathes clouds and a guy who wrangles them, bffs forever. i always saw gusto as more akin to a shaolin/buddhist monk but yeah cloudscraper mountains could very well be his hometown yes

I randomly remembered me and my therapist were joking about whale noises and that I wanted to hear whale noises because I don't really know if I know what whale song sounds like.

I need to make myself a portable grounding kit. I have to find the necklace that I can put essential oils on or something similar like a very small scented candle. Necklace would be more discreet but might also make me smell strongly like idk, tea tree oil.. lemons.. LOL I'd rather have something with a lid. I'll have to think on it and perhaps find some good options out there.

Then I need something that makes sound. I have an ipod nano but I'm not sure if I want to rely on that and I feel it will be a hassle. I might still try it tho because I can put guided meditations on it. I'm not sure if I can take my baoding ball with me as this will be a bit weird for other people to watch me just shake a ball next to my ear.. then again why do I even care about other people. Something with a clicking noise might be good. I have a ring a friend gifted me that kind off makes a cricket noise.

My Experience with Wrist Pain as an Artist

I'm not going to give a long description, just briefly sharing my experience and what helps me avoid pain

In general I have wrist pain while painting mostly on the thumb side

And that's what helps me avoid pain and arm strain:

1 Exercises

Many exercises with bending the hand in different directions have done little or nothing to help me, and in some situations have even made things worse

3 Walks and sports

I started walking more often and paying more attention to physical activity. I don't have any recommendations here because I haven't found anything "best"

I just found some workout programs and do exercises from time to time

4 Sleep

I also changed my sleeping position

I used to sleep on my side and sometimes wake up with pain or numbness in my arm

Now I sleep on my back, and it seems to help: my arms no longer go numb in my sleep or hurt when I wake up

I'm not going to recommend anything specific, just look or read about proper sleeping positions and choose the right one for you

5 How I hold the stylus and move my hand around

I set the tablet to the maximum sensitivity so that minimal pressure is enough and I don't strain my hand too much

I also started drawing from my elbow without moving my wrist

6 Customizing hotkeys

In order to optimize my work and minimize the strain on my hand as much as possible, I switched everything to hotkeys

I don't have specific recommendations here either, as everyone uses different programs, etc

My advice: if you frequently perform some action and can assign it to some button or key combination, I would do it

That is all I can say on the subject

Over the years I have tried various methods and read a huge number of articles on the subject of hand pain, but only the ones listed above have really helped me
