Working on some outfit variations for my DND char, Shenyu

We want to know about the alpaca.

My second DND character is for my more serious campaign run by my best friend @htfnoelle​~ It’s a post-apocalypse zombie/survival campaign and we just has a session the other night! 

This is my tiefling, Baosheng Shenyu! He is an Arcane Chromat Sorcerer whose wife died while they were escaping their old Forbiddence (Safe Zones, essentially) and so he’s done his best to raise his 8 year old daughter (not the fuckin cat on his shoulder, before any of you ask; that’s their pet cat Nappa).

Admittedly compared to Francestan, I’ve not drawn him as much (BECAUSE HIS OUTFIT IS ANNOYING AS FUCK TO DRAW, and also I can never get his face right)

He’s got a myriad of character secrets that I can’t go into rn, but I will when they’re revealed to my party~

This is his daughter, Yuji; in stark contrast to Shenyu’s calm, quiet, and melancholic personality, she will fight anyone and everyone jsdlkfjefkl

Shenyu’s deceased wife, I’ve not made a ref for, but her name was Qiuyin and she is extremely cool and badass and the two were a massive force to be dealt with originally. More on her later when I can cough up a ref besides this:

Anyway, we just finished killing a shitload of mobs, and while the other party members went off to have Gay Panic TM interactions, Shenyu went home to his cottage to make sure his daughter was okay. Yuji was fine, of course, and was brushing their Alpaca, Sergeant Skullcrusher, in the backyard

SO, SERGEANT SKULLCRUSHER, THE ALPACA, WAS GAINED AFTER FIGHTING A SHITLOAD OF DIRE WOLVES. The Forbiddance’s alpacas was being attacked every night, and so our party staged a stakeout where our druid disguised herself as an alpaca and once the predators revealed themselves, we killed them, except it was literally like 35 wolves (we had a lot of NPC help bc this was a big ordeal).

My Sorcerer ended up nearly getting eaten by 6 fucking wolves, and he had retreated back towards one of the alpacas... Said Alpaca had gotten an opportunity of attack when one of the low health wolves started fleeing and actually crit it, landing the killing blow. Because my emo art dad ran over to it looooowkey so that the wolf would hopefully attack the alpaca instead of him (listen i had like 16 HP ok leave me alone, im fragile), the alpaca formed some sort of protective bond with him and followed him home after we finished it up.

Shenyu’s daughter, Yuji, then proceeded to name him Sergeant Skullcrusher slkdfjsekfl

Shenyu is just a humble sorcerer tryin to provide for his daughter and tend his cabbage garden... that is all.... also he was lowkey inspired by Jean Valjean, so take that as y’all will

she has done so before and will do so again sdjlfk Yuji will VERY happily fight someone who upset her dad (unless he finds out n then she gets the good old “the pen is mightier than the sword” lecture)

My new tiefling arcane chromat sorcerer (acid/ice), Baosheng Shenyu (Shenyu being his first name), AKA emo art dad! We’re doing kind of a zombie apocalypse-esque campaign that my best friend @htfnoelle is running. Super excited! I’ll draw his daughter and dead wife later when I get a chance.

Backstory: After the death of his wife Qiuyin, Shenyu was left to raise their six-year-old daughter, Yuji alone in the Forbiddance. Kind-hearted, protective, and melancholic, Shenyu balances raising his hell-raiser daughter and powering the protective barrier of the Forbiddance zone. In the small amount of free time he gets, he gardens, paints, and studies scrolls on ancient magic to improve his power.

While his wife may be departed, her spirit is still with them in their hearts, and he will protect his daughter... by any means necessary.

Random Info no one asked for:

-He does calligraphy; when casting spells, he paints the runes in the air with his staff (the big ass paintbrush)

-He grows napa cabbages in their garden and also attempted to make a small pond in their backyard but it turns out.... freezing acid and putting it in a hole to make a small pond... also makes the pond acidic...

-Their cat’s name is Napa because they found her eating their cabbages and took her in.
