Action should breed Consistency and give you results. That's if you keep doing the right things over and over. When someone comes to me and wants to lose weight, or build muscle, at some point, I always ask them what their daily habits are because If you don't have structured habits then you won't be able to follow the plan that allows you to get your desired results. Getting results with your body is all about structured habits that you need to follow daily. Alot of people think its just a few steps they need to aquire and then they will start seeing the results. I feel as though someone's body and how it is shaped gives some testament to their dedication to fitness and health, especially with building muscle. When wanting to get into shape and build your physique it takes time to do so. It has to be a consistent progressive routine that needs to be consistant but also slowly increasing challenges overtime. But once you start to get a physique that you enjoy you respect the work that's put into it alot more. You realize the hard work that's put into getting the look you desire. The dedication and time it takes to build up a body you want. But the kicker to it all is that even if you reach your desired goals, you still need to keep working out and eating healthy to maintain or even surpass your targeted goals. Because if you don't keep up the dedication all your success will eventually fade away. People are going to look at this post and say "what??? What do you even mean??" And the thing is, in regards to weight loss, healthy eating is of course required but sometimes isn't enough because there are healthy foods that are high in calories. Just because it's healthy doesn't mean you will necessarily lose weight. Foods such as milk or avocados, and many others are, although are considered healthy, have high calories in them. So what it really boils down to is watching what you eat and also the amount you eat. And this of course depends on the person as we are all different. But keep in mind it comes back to your calories and how many you are consuming versus outputting. It always comes to the total caloires you eat in a day and also a week that matters for weight loss. If you eat before you sleep or not long before you go to bed, your body isn't going to magically process more caloires than what it takes in because you eat at night or before you sleep. Doesn't happen. So if you like to snack at night or eat a smaller meal about an hour before bed like me and your in a deficit, you will still lose weight. However on the flip side, not everybody can digest well before bed time as they just feel to bloated. It also comes down to the food you eat as of course, you never want to have something heavy. But some people just don't process food as well at night. Their body just doesn't enjoy it. So if you fall into that category i'd suggest to really find something that's light and easy to have, more than an hour before bed time. But don't stay away from eating later on because you think your going to just get bigger or add on more weight and caloires because you simply eat at night. Doesn't work that way. I always get laughed at when I say this but I seriously mean it. Every single person of proper age should be lifting weights. It doesn't mean you have to be working out every single day and it doesn't mean you have to be ripped. 3 times a week at 45 minutes will go a long way. Because its not just about fat loss or gaining muscle. It helps you to possibly stop getting any of the osteoporosis inflammations and other as well. You stay stronger snd are able to move better in your 50's and higher. Bone strength is so important as we age and helping to keep testosterone and estrogen levels higher is important as well. It might be harder for people to realize now because we don't think ahead but it's just something to definetly think about because I'm sure you'll want to be able to move to the best of your ability in your later years. You know within yourself you can be more than you currently are. You inherently know you can become better and do more but you are just frustrated with the fact of your current position and where you are in life. And it's also because of multiple choices you have made to get yourself here. It may not be what you want to hear but sometimes the truth is what you need to hear. The good thing though is that you can grow to become more than your current state. But you have to start making choices that will benefit you, even if you don't like them. There is a fine difference between making choices out of pleasure which will hold no growth for you in the future and choices that hold displeasure at the current moment but will slowly elevate you to where you eventually want to be. It just comes down to if you are willing to act upon the necessary things to give yourself a probable chance to become who you want to be one day. One thing is for sure, the time will pass regardless so it just a matter of time to see if you eventually elevate yourself to something better or just stay stuck where you are. Staying as flexible as possible as you age is key for everyone as they get older because as we start to slowly die, so does our entire physiological anatomy. That Includes everything from appetite to strength to flexibility. And although we can't stop some things from happening, flexibility is one of those things we can really slow down and utilize and should be utilising as we get older. You want to move around and have good flexibility the more you get older as it helps you to stay feeling younger and also potentially have less of a chance of being Injured. When losing weight and eating in a caloric deficit it doesn't have to be dreadful and boring. There days there are so many choices of recipes and foods you can have that make it easier for you to not only lose the weight but also eat well while doing it to. Whenever I do my nutrition for my clients I always give them foods that are low caloire and taste good. Now that's also respective to the person losing the weight of course as everyone is different in what they should be eating and how much they need to eat in their weight loss journey. But none the less it doesn't have to be boring. The days of just chicken and rice and broccoli are over and if you are still stuck on doing that then you are falling behind, unless that is, you honestly enjoy eating it. Having a strong core is pretty vital to having a strong all around body. Your core assists in almost every exercise you do which is why it's vital to strengthen it. If you think about it, if you strengthen your core, you strength should increase in all other areas of lifting as well. Whether it's your deadlifts or bench pressing or even lunging, etc. Regardless over time they will improve. I know alot of people stay away from it because it can be harder to complete core exercises and some people want to stick to certain exercises they enjoy. But if you want to become stronger then you have to work on other areas you don't typically often workout. Don't think, just do. The very famous words echoed by Bruce Lee many years ago. When I was younger I never quite understood what he meant by this quote. But now as I'm an adult and you have to bear alot more responsibility, especially with a busier lifestyle, the quote is something I go by everyday. It literally means don't over think anything just do it. Because by the time you overthink something to see if it is the right choice or not you could have acted on moving towards your objective and realized if it was the wrong or right decision. And it's true. Stop wasting time deciding whether or not you should be doing what your doing. And this applies to anything and anything at all. Just make a decision and act. And if you realize its not right then pivot and go the other way. I used to overthink and had issues making choices alot when I was younger and it was a problem I knew I needed to get rid of. Although I fixed it before I started adapting this quote as a principle, it still reminds me everyday to just make a decision and go for it. How much you eat is going to determine how much weight you will build overtime. But how your body breaks down the calories can differ per person. You will still lose weight or gain muscle through calorie deficit or though caloric increase through your macros but not everyone's body is going to process and breakdown and dilute and use the calories at the same pace. Everyone is a different weight with different genetics with different levels of fitness intensity and also metabolism and so on. So you have to understand you might not break down calories at the same rate as others. It actually could be faster or slower but the point here is you aren't built exactly the same as someone else. This is why I have said before to not be suprised if you don't lose weight at the same pace as others or if you don't drop bodyfat on the exact places on your body as other people. The main thing to understand is that it comes to a calorie deficit to lose weight, combined with daily movement and of course exercise. Eating fruit doesn't make you fat. There is not one thing that makes you fat. It's an accumulation of caloires over a period of time that depends on how much you have eaten, what your N.E.A.T activity is and how much you workout. Some people do burn caloires off faster than others but that's not the main issue here. It's total consumption and fruit is far from making anyone fat. It does the opposite actually. It really helps people to lean out. Fruit is already low on calories and generally has anywhere between 40% to 60% water in them. Ahh but it has sugar. Yes, it does have sugar. So what? Even if you have an apple which is full of water and sugar it's only between 60 to 100 caloires, give or take. That's a small amount. And eating sugar isn't the sole reason why people gain weight or get diabetes. The reason is the accumulation of visceral fat which you attain from having to many caloires over time and also from eating to much trans fatty foods. When you become diabetic sugar becomes an issue because of how it is now processes in the body but even then your body needs it. So eat fruit, and don't be afraid of sugar. Everything in moderation and understand that fruit won't cause you to become fat and become diabetic just because it has sugar. It's total caloires overall.
