I’m choosing long-term top 50 cause it’s most representative of stable trends in my tastes, for better or worse.

1. How did you get into 29? [One Direction] Kari is in the know about relevant boy bands these days. Plus there was a creepy guy who made a parody of “What Makes You Beautiful” for the 2012 Olympic Gymnastics team

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? [Cream] I’m guessing either “Sunshine of Your Love” or “White Room,” the ones most played by classic rock radio

3. What's your favorite lyric by 33? [Eric Clapton] The one that’s coming to mind is “bet you didn’t think I knew how to rock and roll” but I do have a soft spot for his Christmas lyric “when everything is white outside, how can it be so dark?” I’ll be honest I don’t know enough

4. How did you get into 49? [The Fab Four] Chris Carter of BwtB introduced me to their Christmas songs. Now their HARK! album is a Christmas standard in my home.

5. How many albums by 13 do you own? [Lin Manuel Miranda] Hamilton official broadway soundtrack!

6. What is your favorite song by 50? [The Beach Boys] While challenging, I think the one I would almost always be in the mood for is “Don’t Worry Baby”

7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad? [The Spinners] No because they are a disco party machine

8. What is your favorite song by 15? [Backstreet Boys] This is insanely challenging. I can easily choose an album, and that would be Never Gone.

9. What is your favorite song by 5? [John Lennon] Apparently when I filled this out in 2009 it was “Watching the Wheels,” but now I’m inclined to say “I Know (I Know).” Certainly not by a landslide

10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? [Ringo Starr] Omigosh isn’t that just his mission in life, to make us happy? Easily though “OK Ray” is one with amazing memories attached because my mom and I blasted it for the “we can still have a ball, Paul” lyric before going to see Paul live.

11. What is the worst song by 40? [Jonathon Groff] I’m guessing he’s on here because of his tenure as King George III in Hamilton, so I will say that “What Comes Next” is my least favorite of those three

12. What is your favorite song by 10? [Leslie Odom Jr.] “Room Where It Happens”

13. What is a good memory you have involving 30? [Bob Dylan] My old boss absolutely fangirling over him shamelessly and telling us that you have to get past the voice to appreciate him. He was right.

14. What is your favorite song by 38? [Queen] I’m going to be basic and say “Bohemian Rhapsody.” It might be the most popular but it’s that way for a reason

15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? [Jason Mraz] “Live High” because it reminds me of the kind of music George Harrison would be making if he was still around.

16. Is there a song by 25 that makes you sad? [Big Time Rush] “We Are” can be emotional if you remember how they ended the show with that

17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23? [Pink Floyd] Probably “Money” or “Learning to Fly”

18. What's your favorite lyric by 11? [The Rolling Stones] I don’t listen to the Stones for the lyrics, but I’ll give you my top song = “Shine a Light”

19. Who is a favorite member of 1? [The Beatles] I love them all equally and differently but most often it’s George.

20. Is there a song by 14 that makes you happy? [The Yardbirds] Obviously because so many of them are running songs. I will say “Happenings Ten Years Time Ago” because it has both Jimmy Page AND Jeff Beck

21. What is a good memory involving 27? [Fall Out Boy] Getting really into running in Spring 2007.

22. What is your favorite song by 16? [Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers] “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”

23. What is the first song you ever heard by 47? [Andy Gibb] "I Just Want to Be Your Everything” a classic Bee Gees sound

24. What is your favorite album by 18? [Tom Petty] Being that this is different than when he was with the Heartbreakers I will confidently say Full Moon Fever

25. What is your favorite song by 21? [Small Faces] Holy crap I love Steve Marriott’s voice. Let’s say “Song of a Baker” although I'm not 100% certain.

26. What is the first song you ever heard by 26? [Simon & Garfunkel] Probably “Mrs. Robinson.” I heard all these songs before I cared to learn anything about who sang them

27. What is you favorite song by 3? [Paul McCartney] my favorite ...Paul song?...of the 3000 he has written? It completely depends on the mood. Right now I’m feeling “I Don’t Know” but don’t think for a second I don’t spontaneously sing his songs all day while “working from home”

29. What was the first song you ever heard by 32? [Phillipa Soo] “Schuyler Sisters!”

31. How many times have you seen 17 live? [Traveling Wilburys] aw.

32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy? [Rockabye Baby!] Better believe this is on here because hearing lullaby versions of classic rock songs on a run is so hilarious and silly, and sometimes a much needed slow-down. They’re all made to make you happy.

33. How did you get into 12? [The Who] Started listening to classic rock radio in college. Got really into them right before they played the Super Bowl and then again in 2015 for no apparent reason. They’re just so solid. Plus my mom hates them which is added ammunition

34. What is the worst song by 45? [Billy Joel] I don’t know his full catalogue, but the one I have saved that I would be most likely to skip is “She’s Always a Woman,” which is by no means a bad song.

35. What was the first song you ever heard by 34? [The Naked Brothers Band] “Crazy Car” of course

36. What is the first song you ever heard by 48? [S Club 7] "S Club Party”

37. How many times have you seen 42 live? [Michael Jackson] never

38. What is your favorite song by 36? [Zoom Karaoke] hahahah this is on here because sometimes I have karaoke parties with myself. I’m gonna say “Downtown” by Petula Clark because I am never not in the mood to sing along with that

39. What was the first song you ever heard by 28? [Anthony Ramos] “Aaron Burr, Sir” if you can count that as his song

40. What is you favorite album by 7? [Wings] I don’t know!!! I guess Red Rose Speedway because I love most of the songs on it and there’s few I would ever skip. That’s also true of Band on the Run but I am sticking with my original opinion.

41. Is there a song by 31 that makes you happy? [Christopher Jackson] So was my Hamilton phase obvious yet? “One Last Time”

42. What is your favorite album by 41? [Three Dog Night] I have the whole “Best Of” saved on Spotify so I’m cheating and saying that.

The Basics:

16 individuals drafted every main show match in WrestleMania history (along with Neville vs Austin Aries from WrestleMania 33 to keep things even). This gives each person a total of 20 matches selected. The draft was conducted snake style so the individual that had the 16th pick in the draft also had the 17th pick to start round two. Each round will have an individual post leading up to WrestleMania 34 and the draft will culminate in our own Mel Kiper (Brad Woodling) giving his opinions and draft grades for how each person did overall. Place to Be Nation will also be able to vote on their favorite draft overall.

Pick #33: Hulk Hogan & Mr. T vs Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff (WrestleMania 1) – Selected by J Arsenio D’Amato

A historic match that changed the business and started the WrestleMania machine.

Pick #34: Rock & Sock vs Evolution (WrestleMania 20) – Selected by Todd Weber

I break one of my draft guidelines IMMEDIATELY and double-dip Rocky here with my 3rd pick. This match was a blast to watch, and it brought some of my all-time favorites (all of them current or guaranteed future WWE Hall-of-Famers) together in a memorable contest. Worth it just to get Flair and Foley on my card, as there just aren’t that many of their appearances out there.

Pick #35: The Big Show vs Floyd Mayweather (WrestleMania 24) – Selected by Stacey O’Louglin

This is my spectacle match – it’s one of the biggest (hyuk hyuk) celebrity matches ever, and also the best celebrity match ever. Floyd is perfect in his role, Show carries it beautifully, and they get so much out of every moment in the match. This is boatloads of fun from start to finish, and adds variety, star power and quality.

Pick #36: Triple H vs The Undertaker (WrestleMania 28) – Selected by Greg Phillips

The best of their three WrestleMania encounters, this match has it all – epic drama, a years-long rivalry, and the inclusion of Shawn Michaels as the guest referee. It also contains one of the great nearfalls in WWE history. It may be divisive, but it’s a stone cold classic in my book.

Pick #37: Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart (WrestleMania 12) – Selected by Nick Duke

Here’s where I deviate from many other participants in several respects. First, I did not approach this project as an attempt to build an actual card that would play out in a single night, meaning I had no issue with repeating performers or titles in my draft. Second, I’ve always believed that the Iron Man match is a top 15 match in Mania history so I was pretty happy to see it still available in the 3rd round.

Pick #38: CM Punk vs The Undertaker (WrestleMania 29) – Selected by Andy LaBar

Andy Pick: #3 Overall Pick: #38

It honestly blew my mind that this match was still available to pick at #38. It was the 6th Undertaker match drafted overall (both HBK matches, Batista, Edge and WM 28), but for my money, it rivals the HBK matches as his best Mania match, and I am pretty comfortable having it among his 5 best matches ever. At this point in his career, Undertaker was a “mega-match” machine, working a couple of matches each year, getting 4+ from Meltzer and defying old-body logic by giving his all. CM Punk is not quite on top of the world, but he’s still a tip-top personality, still fiery in the ring and still the undersized, over-egoed wrestler who you can BELIEVE could be the man to finally beat Taker. This match is great – from a pure workrate standpoint, the highlight of my entire card, and the fact that it’s not a main event or title match even improves it in my eyes. You watch this and you are gonna be HYPED for what comes after (even if it can’t live up to this match).

Pick #39: The British Bulldogs vs The Dream Team (WrestleMania 2) – Selected by Steven Ferrari

I have an irrational love for this match. It was the match that got me into tag team wrestling as a kid. Plus, it has Ozzy yelling “BRITISH BULLDOGS FOREVERRRRRRRR!”

Pick #40: Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin (WrestleMania 14) – Selected by Jordan Duncan

One of my plans going into the draft was to make sure I get a high tier World Title match. While others may surpass this one in quality, it is iconic, has the Mike Tyson appearance and is the passing of the torch from Michaels to Austin, who was perhaps the hottest act in company history.

Pick #41: Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania 33) – Selected by Aaron George

I wanted something that would draw in round 3, before all the legit draws got snapped up. Easily the best sub-five minute match ever at WrestleMania. These guys just went out and KILLED one another. Another intense, personal feud that was capped with a smash-mouth match that would make the XFL bleed with jealousy. They popped a crowd nearly seven hours into a show. They’ll kill it on my card.

Pick #42: The Undertaker vs Ric Flair (WrestleMania 18) – Selected by Neil Trama

With my draft goals pretty clear, I knew I wanted to nab an actual good Undertaker match and I knew that I couldn’t wait too much longer or risk getting stuck with Mark Henry or King Kong Bundy or some crud along those lines, so I took this sneaky classic.

Pick #43: Hulk Hogan vs Vince McMahon (WrestleMania 19) – Selected by Scott Criscuolo

A match I really love simply because it had no business being as good as it was. Two 50-something year old guys who are in essence part time workers go all out and even bleed to put on an epic match on the biggest stage.

Pick #44: Money in the Bank (WrestleMania 21) – Selected by Brian Bayless

This was the inaugural Money in the Bank Ladder Match, a brand new concept that saw the winner receive a contract for a future title shot. This particular match ended up exceeding all expectations and then some. It was an incredible spectacle that was successful to the point it was brought back for several more WrestleMania shows until it became the headline match of its own yearly PPV. If this match tanked its likely the concept would have been scrapped altogether.

Pick #45: The Rock vs Steve Austin (WrestleMania 15) – Selected by Chad Campbell

I was eyeing a double main event and wanted this match to have some quality to it in ring to offset Hogan vs Andre. Rock vs Austin from Mania 15 fit this criteria the best. A putrid card but a main event that I think has been underrated over time even though it probably still is the worst of their three Mania matches. This encapsulated the good of the attitude era and had a feel good ending with Austin regaining the title and Vince’s golden boy being defeated.

Pick #46: Money in the Bank (WrestleMania 23) – Selected by Tim Capel

The MITB matches confer a ton of value, and the one I had earmarked was nabbed just two picks above me. I went with my second-favorite, and a pretty glorious clusterfuck at that. It gives me a swath of talent I wasn’t sure would be otherwise represented and a staple WrestleMania gimmick match.

Pick #47: Hulk Hogan vs Sgt. Slaughter (WrestleMania 7) – Selected by JT Rozzero

As a whole, I feel WrestleMania VII is undervalued so when I had a chance to nab another big time title match at the end of round three, I jumped at it. It gave me a big Hulk Hogan match and moment and a damn good in ring battle.

Pick #48: The Undertaker vs Kane (WrestleMania 14) – Selected by Jennifer Smith

Undertaker is another one of those guys I knew of from my lapsed fandom and I remember liking him. This match was listed fairly highly on the PTBN article Ranking the Streak- The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Pick #17: Vince McMahon vs Shane McMahon (WrestleMania 17) – Selected by Jennifer Smith

While prepping for the role of Stephanie McMahon for the P2B podcast Christmas special, I watched a lot of Youtube clips featuring the McMahon family so this one just stuck out to me.

Pick #18: Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle (WrestleMania 21) – Selected by JT Rozzero

I was able to open round two with this classic war between two of the all-time WWE greats and two of my all-time favorites. Both men went balls to the wall to deliver a WrestleMania epic and they met their goal. It was a rare dream match that met all expectations.

Pick #19: Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle (WrestleMania 19) – Selected by Tim Capel

A great one-on-one title match between two guys who are a must-have for any card. Plus, a bonafide WrestleMania Moment!(TM) on the Best WrestleMania of All Time? Yeah, it’s a no-brainer.

Pick #20: TLC 2 (WrestleMania 17) – Selected by Chad Campbell

After getting the ultimate non workrate main event with Hulk vs Andre, I wanted to get a showcase workrate match to bookend the first selection. I thought this was the best available choice and displays a match that was revolutionary at the time and still holds up on repeat viewings.

Pick #21: Steve Austin vs The Rock (WrestleMania 19) – Selected by Brian Bayless

A match featuring the two biggest stars of the “Attitude Era” facing off for the last time. Austin would retire and Rock went off to Hollywood as the chapter finally closes on this feud.

Pick #22: Shawn Michaels vs Triple H vs Chris Benoit (WrestleMania 20) – Selected by Scott Cirscuolo

Say what you want about who won the match or your thoughts on him in general but this is a top 5 WrestleMania main event. Triple H begins a four show stretch where he does the right thing and puts over the hot star of the moment.

Pick #23: Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage (WrestleMania 5) – Selected by Neil Trama

The Megapowers Explode! With this pick I nabbed two of the top three all-time WWF wrestlers (according to a certain list at a certain website,) one of the greatest angles of all time to build my show, and an awesome world championship match (with great commentary) to boot!

Pick #24: The Undertaker vs Batista (WrestleMania 23) – Selected by Aaron George

Two huge guys throwing bombs in perhaps the best main event sprint in Mania history. Going in no one expected the classic we got. It was also the last time that the streak was REALLY in jeopardy. They had something to prove and they proved it. When I envisioned my card my first two picks were Flair/Savage and this. The pace and intensity are off the charts. Batista’s best WM Match, one of Taker’s best as well.

Pick #25: Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper (WrestleMania 8) – Selected by Jordan Duncan

As a guy who doesn’t consider himself a HUGE Bret Hart fan, I’m surprised I took Bret with my first two choices, but this is an excellent babyface vs. babyface match that really helped Bret become the star he would wind up being of his generation. Maybe Piper’s best match in WWF history.

Pick #26: Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle (WrestleMania 20) – Selected by Steven Ferrari

This WWE Title match may not have closed the show, but it would rightly be able to main event any number of pay-per-views. Guerrero loosening his boot to escape the Ankle Lock to get the win and retain the title is still one of my favorite WrestleMania moments.

Pick #27: Mick Foley vs Edge (WrestleMania 22) – Selected by Andy Labar

Andy Pick: #2 Overall Pick: #27

Is this Edge’s best singles match? It’s certainly up there and ranks highly when it comes to the pure violence as well. For Mick to be wrestling this type of match at this age and shape is awesome, a near-perfect garbage match with some hilariously innovate barbed-wire spots. This match gets my blood boiling, my rage seething, my love of ultraviolence going and as far as WWE matches go (and especially WrestleMania), this is one of the more violent affairs the company has put on. I truly love this match and consider it one of the best matches of all time. You can’t watch this and not right a high from what it brings, super super fun and super pleased to have it on this show.

Pick #28: Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair (WrestleMania 24) – Selected by Nick Duke

To me, when evaluating these WrestleMania matches, the feeling of spectacle or a “WrestleMania moment” is almost as important as overall match quality. Having attended in person, I’ve always had a high regard for this match and the feeling in the stadium for what we’d all like to pretend was Ric Flair’s final match. Shawn is on his game here, and Ric delivers one last time on the grandest stage of them all.

Pick #29: Edge vs The Undertaker (WrestleMania 24) – Selected by Greg Phillips

This pick gives me a World Heavyweight Championship match (both diversifying my title spread and adding prestige) and a truly great bout. This is a match that ages extremely well, and gives a clear face-heel divide to counteract the more 50/50 main event.

Pick #30: The Rock vs John Cena (WrestleMania 28) – Selected by Stacey O’Louglin

Two of the greatest stars in history square off in a dream match main event after circling each other for a full year. My favorite wrestler facing his spiritual predecessor and carrying him to a great match. People popping when the bell rings in 2012. Yes to all of that. This is also a rare look at Cena actually working as a heel during a match, and it ultimately being his undoing when he gets caught acting too cocky.

Pick #31: The Dudley Boyz vs The Hardy Boyz vs Edge & Christian (WrestleMania 16) – Selected by Todd Weber

This was easily the best match on a mostly mediocre show, and though their TLC Classic the next year was substantially better, someone had already drafted it. Throughout my draft, I really did my best to only feature superstars and matches for specific titles only once if possible for variety, and this match uses up 6 great Mania performers and the tag titles. It’s a great snapshot of the tag scene during the Attitude Era.

Pick #32: Shawn Michaels vs John Cena (WrestleMania 23) – Selected by J Arsenio D’Amato
