Note
yeah i did also mean to ask about their appearances, if u want to keep them up to reader interpretation thats fine ofc but i was mostly wondering if they have like any notable features that haven’t been written about yet. for art purposes
-mysterious artist
as for bayani, i confirmed a few posts ago that he's filipino so i imagine him to have tan skin and brown eyes, maybe short, black hair. in the "obsessed" story i mentioned that he's a short king (shorter than 5'5. he's polly pocket sized) and i never mentioned it in any posts, but i personally imagine him to be slightly chubby and young-looking, cuz he's about 20-25 (since i mentioned in the yandere alphabet that he already graduated highschool a while ago.)
as for victor, i never mentioned any of his traits so you can imagine him however you want! but me personally, i think of him as slightly older than bayani so he has sharp, long features. i also like to think of him like a vampire emo dude, so he has pale skin, long, black hair and tons of piercings all over his body. he's also quite tall, at least 6'2 in my head.
everything else about them is up to you!

@ellisnyeland tagged me in an "OC fun facts" post (thank you!), so here goes!!
Rules: "Make a list of fun facts about your OCs. Like a headcanon list, if you will! Except it's actually canon!"
I will be using the characters from APOSTATE as it is my current project!
Bell is canonically autistic. It's not mentioned in the book directly, but he, Vesper, Astrid, and several other characters throughout the novel are actually on the spectrum.
Luther was born in Missouri but spent most of his life in North Carolina. Despite this, dude doesn't have a Southern accent, more of a generalized American accent. His son Calvin has a Southern accent though, as does his wife, Wendy.
I mention it explicitly in the book for Bayani Garza, but more than one character in Apostate is trans. I realize now all of them are trans masc, but that will change in the other books (Blasphemer and Heretic).
Cicadas have an important part of Bell's narrative arc.
Not OC related, but the cursed-seeming Chevy Lumina is chapter seven is based on my mother's Lumina that hit four separate deer.
Open tag for anyone who wants to try it!!

Batch 2024 participates in 2-week off-campus internship
University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) Batch 2024 completed their 2-week off-campus internship at various sites from February 12 to 23.
Part of the Grade 12 work program is the two-week off-campus internship which aims to apply the knowledge and skills they have obtained from Kindergarten to Grade 11, to experience a real-world work environment, to understand and explore the careers they may pursue in the future, and to develop proper attitudes regarding leadership structure, employee interactions, and professionalism.
Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) Track
Grade 12 - Kalayaan, the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) track, had their work immersions at Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation, Interactive Children’s Literacy Program (ICLiP), M&P Creatives, and Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas. UP Diliman Information Office (DIO) and DZUP 1602, despite being within the UP campus, were also included as internship sites for the off-campus work immersion.
The sites offered internship tasks such as writing articles, creating scripts, designing social media posts and publicity materials, covering events, newscasting, hosting, observing and teaching classes, assisting video shoots, joining rehearsals, and participating in activities conducted by the sites.
Zaeda Wadi, a former UPDIO intern, shared some of the most important lessons she learned through her internship. “At the UP DIO, I learned that being attentive is such a helpful asset to have! Be it in article-writing, observing during programs, interacting with others, or following instructions, having a present mind makes things clearer—and easier. I also realized that there are various activities in UP Diliman that I can participate in! It opened more doors for me to venture that can set me on new experiences as a student and community member,” she stated.
Additionally, she talked about some of the discoveries she made through UP DIO. “UP DIO staff taught me that in the hustle of life, sharing conversations and laughs makes the office life bearable and memorable! I learned from their close bond how it is always nice, even essential, to check in daily wholesome chats with people we meet at the workplace,“ she shared.

Business and Entrepreneurship (BE) Track
Grade 12 - Kapayapaan, the Business and Entrepreneurship (BE) track, experienced working at Underdog Fitness PH, Revised Salon, Friuli Trattoria, Puff & Dough BakeLab, SGD Coffee, Street Kohi, Noki Japanese Fried Chicken, and Urban Chick for their off-campus internship.
Some of their work included taking orders from customers, cleaning and setting up the area, making orders and food products for the business, assisting in supply inventory, creating and designing social media posts, preparing financial reports, assisting in administrative-related tasks, and conducting market research.
Princess Tan, a former intern at Noki Japanese Fried Chicken, shared her thoughts on how different the off-campus internship is from completing regular coursework for classes. “The real world is less structured than the system in school. The tasks we had to do weren’t listed for us and weren’t taught to us from the very start to end. You are expected to learn the operations as you go through the work program. Additionally, mistakes would cost you more unlike in school where you’ll just get a deduction on your score,“ she said.

Applied Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Track
Grade 12 - Karangalan and Karunungan, the Applied Sciences and Engineering (ASE) track, held their internship programs at Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) - Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS), ADMU - Department of Electronics, Computer, and Communications Engineering (ECCE), ADMU - Department of Mathematics, Buri Technologies, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), DENR - Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI), DOST - Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), LCI Envi Corporation, New Era General Hospital, Smile Studio Dental, and Wilson Hobby Studio.
Some specific tasks given by the sites consisted of conducting playtests, exploring and programming with Artificial Intelligence (AI), attending workshops and seminars, testing websites, creating courses on websites, performing Test Case Documentation, listing products and packaging of companies, managing and operating with information and cybersecurity, weather research and reporting, assisting in dental-related work, input and documentation of dental procedures and prices, assisting in tech support with 2D software, 3D printing, and attending discussions and seminars held by the sites.
Enjoce Lampa, a former intern at ADMU - Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS), shared the skills he was able to develop or enhance through his experience. “The skill I used the most during the internship was definitely my knowledge in programming. I think I already had pretty good programming [or] coding knowledge from my experiences but this internship further enhanced my skills because I was able to use it on a real project. I learned the Godot game engine and its native language, GDScript, to create our game and I think I will be using this knowledge more in the future,“ he stated.

Doing small Ned’s Lola posts for the holidays! This one is for Fil-Am History Month & Halloween!
(Sorry I’m late to post here on tumblr)
Guest starring #TheRealestBayani and Kuya/Lumpiaman/ Mark M from the @lumpiamovie <<<don’t forget to check out #LumpiaWithAVengeance if it’s playing in your city this weekend!
- 1st slide - So this evolved a great deal, I initially wanted to transform the Jeopardy meme into a cover and keep it in the MCU as like a Shang-Chi speaking out for us. But Ike has actually never been in a Marvel film (as far as I know), so I brought his Suicide Squad character over. At which point I was like - well if I’m going to do that, I should bring over any Filipina/o characters from the DCU. Hence Ella Jay Basco (Cassandra) and Ivory Aquino (Alysia) But then I was like, something didn’t feel right - well if this is a multiverse thing, I felt like I needed to ask for Kuya and Bayani to be there. And, of course, the usuals are here - Jacob B (Ned), Ned’s Lola, Ginger G (Nikki), Dave B (Drax), Yssa (Sonya), Eugene C (Casey), Jane R(Ayla), Hailee(Kate), and Iris(Wave)!
- 2nd slide - The Halloween cover. Really wanted to do some of our mythological creatures, but in that old Jack Kirby style. When I started these covers, the intent was to keep with the old school style, but I feel like I’ve strayed a bit. By the way, forget horror masters.. man our folklore digs deep in some really messed up stuff. Have you guys read what a Tiyanik is/does? Man either the most demonic things ever just exist in the Phils, or our ancestors got the most twisted creative imagination.

"Many hands make light work in the spirit of Bayanihan"
Bayanihan is a unique concept in Filipino culture that represents the spirit of community cooperation and mutual support. It is a reflection of the strong sense of community and social responsibility that is deeply ingrained in the Filipino way of life.
Tumblr media
Gif: modified by Author
The term "Bayanihan" is derived from the word "bayani," which means hero or patriot. It refers to the collective heroism of a group of people who work together to achieve a common goal. Bayanihan is frequently depicted as a group of people carrying a house or other heavy object, with each person taking a portion of the weight and working together to move it to a new location. This act represents the value of working together and supporting one another in times of need.
Bayanihan exemplifies Filipino values such as cooperation, solidarity, and mutual support. It is a practice that has been passed down through generations and is still prevalent in modern Filipino society. Despite modernization and globalization's challenges, bayanihan remains an important part of Filipino culture, reminding us of the value of community and the strength that comes from working together toward a common goal.

“One of the institutions of Filipino society is to show a spontaneous and sincere effort to ease the burden of grief of the afflicted... “
Aparece 1960: 165. (Encyclopedia of Philippine Folk Beliefs and Customs, Volume 1 by Fr. Francisco Demetrio, S.J.)
I'm creating an illustration inspired by postcards for the upcoming comic series, "The Scale of A Hero." The illustration depicts the concept of "bayanihan" or "dayong" in a pre-colonial setting. Historically, this has been the classic illustration, which remains the traditional representation of the concept. The three people on the left side are characters from my comic series.
FACTS AND INFO ABOUT DAYONG:
1. The idea of dayong, or bayanihan, extends beyond the image of individuals carrying nipa huts (payags or bahay kubos). Dayong involves two or more people helping each other by working together to carry loads. It also encompasses activities that involve gatherings for a shared purpose.
2. Bayanihan is derived from the word "bayan" meaning nation, town, or community. The term bayanihan itself means “being in a bayan”, referring to the spirit of communal unity, work, and cooperation to achieve a particular goal.
3. Dayong is also called Layong, Dagyaw, Tiklos (pintakasi), in the Bisayan languages. Bayanihan can also be translated as tulongan or damayan.
4. In Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, this practice is known as "gotong royong." The term 'gotong-royong' is derived from the Malay language, with 'gotong' meaning carrying and 'royong' meaning together.
P.S. Dibuho ni means "Drawn or designed by". Hunyo means "June".

🩲🧷 ꒰about mimi's regression ᵎᵎᵎ꒱ 🎀🫧
hello! my full name is jamie mey, but i go by mimi because that's what my family has always called me! i have a very specific way of separating myself from my big self; and that is i view myself as very location-bound. yes, i front very easily, but i'm actually always holding ara's hand all the time. when i front alone, it is very easy for me to fall into anxiety and spirals.
if i visit my home state, i front without needing the help of arawan or bayani. they're my ate and kuya, but because i am home, i have my physical family to also alleviate any anxiety i have.
im usually more of a kid (7-13) than i am a baby (3-6), in my opinion, hence my blog description describing me as 8! around my partners, though, i act quite more like a baby. :p
but even regressed, i am hyperlexic so i have a big vocabulary usually! i may forget words, but i am always trying to expand what i say because it makes me feel smart hehe. i love to parallel play with other littles and also to be schooled by caregivers!
i love coloring and drawing and painting, so i can be really easily occupied by a piece of paper and a pencil! tho preferably i also get some crayons or color pencils too becuz coloring is the best part of art 🩷
i'm really learning-based; so i really, really like being given academic homework or even just writing in my diary! maybe i can even write essays about my special interests 2 post online! :3
idk! so far i am really new to my regression journey, but i am having a good time doing so with my partners 😊
