but it's only half shitposts and there are actual Thoughts in there.

You don't need to have read the comic to understand because I tried not to spoil anything major, but it'd help if you knew basic stuff about classpects, SBURB and the hemospectrum.

when he gets introduced instead of the “Zoosmell Pooplord” bit, Tommy is initially going to be the name inputted but then backspaced it and decided that Tommyinnit was better and he was fuming until he’s named Tommy.

Gives me big Blood/Hope vibes. Blood because a lot of the conflict of the dream smp connected to someone breaking his trust or harming the things he cares about, Hope because a lot of the plot of the dream smp stems from Tommy starting shit based on his ideals and what he thinks is right.

the first to instigate fighting against the trolls

bbh contacts him once and tommy keeps cursing until he disconnects from frustration rip

wields Gunkind and his only strife weapon at the beginning is the Vlog gun. He has Gunkind as his strife specibus mainly because he looked up at schlatt and he imitates him.

Fundy

it was his idea to play SBURB but only through Dream.

he talks to dream the most among the other trolls fwt stans getcha juice this is the rosemary of the session

dream’s the one giving him exposition about the game so that’s how he knows how to play SBURB.

wilbur trolls fundy once and instantly adopts him.

“You’re my son.” “How does that even work??” “I was one of the people who created your universe. It’s basically the same thing.”

Fundy relents anyway.

Techno

techno gives me time player vibes (contantly on the move. his skyblock series, his “stays in the pit” monologue,) but also rage vibes (anarchy, the “theseus” monologue, political alignment is Chaos) alas i am not sure what class

it was dream, he accidentally transportalized one of wilbur’s weapon while he testing the transportalizer.

Ideas about the Trolls

no i haven’t done their sprites yet bc it would take so much time and i’m not even sure if people wanna see more of this au skjdkdsakdfkl,, but i have Design Ideas.

events of the dsmp revolution are just a FLARP session drawing parallels to how the homestuck trolls had a FLARP session that spoiler alert: destroyed friendships. dtrio, eret, will are involved. eret betrays will's faction and wilbur's still Bitter over that.

on the context of alternia (highbloods and lowbloods) lmanburg and dreamsmp have their roles SWAPPED. the emancipation theme thing is completely gone since highbloods are in more power than the lowbloods (the dream team) .

wilbur made a faction called l’manburg because he wants a place where he and his fellow highbloods could make drugs vibe.they take a piece of land that was owned by the dream team. in normal circumstances, they shouldve stood down because lowbloods aren't supposed to start shit with highbloods (especially a group of highbloods that has the alternian heir among them) but dream turned it into an activism thing about lowblood rights. the story plays as close as possible without tommy or tubbo in it (which is pretty hard ik but this is the best can do).

like in the dreamsmp revolution, dream kinda let wilbur do what he wants but this time he has more reason to because he’s in a lower caste. dream really only fought back when wilbur announced that he’d be building lmanburg on their land and calling it theirs.

eret betrays wilbur by supporting the lowbloods and wilbur and co. technically won but only because he finally called the drones in, as a reference to how lmanburg absolutely got crushed by the dream team in the smp but technically won. l’manburg keeps the piece of land and the dream team scatter away to find a new home.

wilbur soot's a fuschia because a) he's in a position that has a lot of power, b) yknow how he wrote a song about squids and his thing with sally… yeah.

eret's a violet because nobility!! dream looks down on him because he's ambivalent on fighting for lowblood rights when he's in a power to do so "you just sit there, and you look pretty that's it"

also like eridan he has a minor aesthetic mutation (herobrine eyes) that won't classify him as a mutant.

jschlatt is purple because it makes sense thematically because of the gamzee parallels (a. substance abuse b. if you know what happens in act 6, you know this already but spoiler alert, he ruins the main protagonists' lives) also he's a funnyman he deserves the clown caste

quackity's a teal because he’s a law student. moving on--

ok but for real it also makes sense thematically because he's the one who wrote the thing that tricked schlatt into agreeing also he gets manipulated by schlatt which also draws parallels to certain events in the comic

skeppy and bbh are BEST FRIENDS despite being highblood and lowblood respectively. initially, skeppy just wanted to bother bbh but they grew to be good friends in time. y’know like how they actually becane friends :D

philza minecraft is a jade because dad friend. also works thematically, because spoiler alert he gets to murder a seadweller for going batshit crazy.

he also god tiers early. he dies fighting his quick undead denizen (haha baby zombie) but the consorts of his land carry him to his quest bed because he’s treated them all so well.

dream was initially going to be another caste but then i realized that means i have to make his hoodie something other than green which is unacceptable so its a good thing the fact that he's a lime works out

dream was the one who thought of playing sgrub in the first place- initially only planned to have gogy, sap, and bbh in the session but then realized that they four won't be enough so he invited more into his session

he’s also the first to go godtier ez clap blind speedrun not sure what classpect tho

the only reason why dream avoided being culled at birth for being a limeblood is because his rng is That Good. he quickly picked up the fact that he’s not supposed to exist and masqueraded as an oliveblood and kept mostly to himself to avoid suspicion.

george is still colorblind but he has lazer eyes along with it instead. dream lives with him in the same hive since being a mutant means dream doesn’t get a lusus of his own (dnf fans getcha juice “and they were roommates”)

despite living in the same hive, he never really figures out that dream is a limeblood. possibly because a) he’s colorblind and when he sees dream bleeding he just sees yellow b) he’s just that fucking oblivious and it’s so valid of him.

sapnap’s a bronzeblood mainly because i know he’s the instigator of the pet war with tommy also because i associate him with the color orang in my mind so bronze it is

that’s the end of this long-ass post!! if you have other ideas PLEASE i want to hear them. i don’t know the other streamers i mentioned in here very well so if you have ideas that would be fitting to them like with classpect or lunar sway that would be GREAT.

the only thing i’m confident about in here are the kids’ lunar sways. i’m not an expert in classpects and homestuck lore so there’s that too!! i just wanted to make this post because adhd means that the idea wouldn’t shut up until i finished it. This initially started as a single shitpost edit of tommyinnit talksprite but then the hiveswap 2 trailer came out and that means i have to combine my two hyperfixations.

also i have ideas about potential quadrants but idk how much of that is breaking some streamers’ boundaries about shipping (even the non romantic quads such as kismesistude, morallegiance and auspisticism) so i decided not to include it.

the potential c!sapnap has for lore

a majority of the dream smp fandom do want c!sapnap to have some sort of lore or have the potential of creating a foundation to set up for his character, yeah? well, he holds a much larger bucket of what i personally believe is a grand tie to a good handful of the main plot points occurring right now in this timeline. so in this post, i’ll mostly cover what could happen concerning c!sapnap and what his role in everything could mean for the future of the dream smp!

all of this is /dsmp and /rp!

the fiancés

if you haven’t caught up with the lore right now, please know this is NOT spoiler free!

as of right now according to the dream team wiki, c!sapnap has BOTH positive relationships with c!quackity and c!karl. however, after learning from c!quackity’s pov and his lore streams, he as resentment against both karl and sapnap for leaving him behind during the beginnings of kinoko kingdom. right now, we do not know the official reason as to why karl and sapnap excluded their fiancé from the build of their country (note: i might make a theory on this), although it is presented that quackity doesn’t like the mention of them.

c!karl is going through his time travel situation with the other side being yet explored, along with the situation of his memory becoming worse through the duration of his travelling. c!quackity is going through his las nevadas arc, creating a casino in order to use the sin of gambling addiction to his advantage. with two of his fiancés going through tremendous (character developing) plotlines that are fated to cross paths, it is no question that c!sapnap will be caught in the crossfire of it. perhaps he’ll be forced to side with one or the other? face his true self which ends up fighting against the two? or will it all come down to something far worse?

tommy

it’s difficult to say if c!sapnap has the same respect or positive attitude towards c!tommy as time has changed, nevertheless their relationship is quite interesting. after the confrontation with mars and the teaming up on doomsday and THEN the disc confrontation (c!sapnap being among the many that stood up to protect c!tommy and c!tubbo), their relationship outcome has been positive. we all are very aware that c!tommy is the “main” character right now (i say main because i know a majority of people follow his pov). as wilbur is coming into play after being revived, c!dream still locked away in prison, and c!tommy having to pick a side, c!sapnap would in some regard have to consult c!tommy in one way or the other about the situation concerning c!dream.

ranboo

there isn’t much to base off of their relationship besides a couple of key points, but i still think it’s worth noting because of how much c!ranboo is playing a role as an important character. now, when sapnap visited c!dream in prison, dream gave sapnap a note with a smiley face on it, which was meant for ranboo. this triggered the enderwalk state, causing ranboo to flee quickly, only making c!sapnap confused. later, c!ranboo (still in his enderwalk) gave a message to sapnap in enderman, which only confused him more.

i think this could really open a new door for sapnap to walk into which could further explore the relationship between c!ranboo and c!dream. we all know that sapnap is very close to dream, as he told him in pandora’s vault,

“Dream if you try and break out early- you, you know that you only have one life left. Okay? And- you know, I don't think its gonna be Tommy, its not gonna be Techno, Dream. If you break out of this prison, its gonna be, its gonna be- me who takes your final life... and that's not because I have any resentment towards you or anything, it's because this is where you need to be, dude. You HAVE to stay here, okay?”

there is a lot to explore here with just c!ranboo, but as connected as he is to others (tommy, tubbo, philza), it could bring c!sapnap more ingrained within the lore.

badboyhalo

canonically, c!bbh is sapnap’s father. they both fought alongside each other during the battle of the lake, which strengthen their bond. however, it is unclear whether or not c!sapnap is aware with c!bbh’s corruption and connection toward the egg, which i could only assume will be showed throughout its course soon enough. c!sapnap doesn’t like the egg -- he’s made that very clear about wanting to kill said egg -- and bbh has protested this.

with their relationship status being father and son, there is so much to build off of! i also really would like to see how c!sapnap would react to his own dad being corrupted by the red vines alongside punz, antfrost and ponk(?) who he seemingly has good relationships with.

dream

i don’t want to dedicate an entire paragraph to this of course since i know everyone is already familiar with their relationship, but i feel like there is so much that could truly be done to show their strong bond. i have a feeling we’ll be getting something from this as well which only makes me curious to see what’ll happen next!

there is a lot i could also cover, such as george, but i want to save that for an entire different post. i really do hope something will happen with how amazing c!sapnap’s character is, because there is so much potential there! he feels more as an anti-hero which could really be interesting to different storylines such as las nevadas, the prison arc, c!wilbur’s revival and of course, c!karl’s time traveling adventures.

C!SAM - Redeemable Qualities Analysis (Dream SMP)

Hallo! I’m back with another brain rot post for ya’ll instead of doing my schoolwork :]

Recently, I’ve been doing some thinking and theorizing with some friends on discord following Quackity’s huge lore stream (if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend you watch it). I woke up this morning with a head full of many thoughts about C!Awesamdude and where his story could take us. Seeing as how there is going to be lots of change in the future with the server, there must be changes in these characters as well-- evil to good, good to evil, and the like. With these changes comes my thought: “can these characters be redeemed?” Here are my thoughts on how this applies to C!Sam.

Author’s note: I want to start this off by saying that all of the contents being discussed are fictional, and are from the Dream SMP universe. I do not support the actions of these characters, but merely have interest in analyzing them through a lens of psychology and for entertainment purposes. Content of this post will contain spoilers up to 3/25/21 of the DSMP lore. I will also talk about ATLA a little bit ;)

What makes a redeemable character?

Redeemable characters are some of the most pleasing and favored characters in modern media. Their stories are rich with emotion, and they can even evoke some form of catharsis within the most skeptic consumers. Redeemable characters are memorable and inspiring, and without one, a story can feel empty. Before we apply this character trope to the Dream SMP and C!Sam, we need to answer a basic question in order to fully understand the complexity of redeemable characters and how they are so universally significant.

What is a redeemable character?

Simply put, a redeeming character or characteristic counteracts or corrects something negative. From a storytelling standpoint, a redeemable character is someone who has roots in good qualities, turns bad, and has the ability to revert their wrong choices to become a better person.

Examples of redeemed characters in popular media include:

Zuko - Avatar the Last Airbender

Boromir - Lord of the Rings

Kylo Ren - Star Wars

Severus Snape - Harry Potter

Zuko, for example, starts his story off as the villain. He tirelessly hunts down the protagonist, and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal to please his father. However, as the show progresses, we learn that Zuko wasn’t always bad. He was only driven to his path of villainy because of his fear of failure, of his father (the firelord and true antagonist of the show), and of a greater punishment than what he had already received. With the help of his uncle, Zuko learned to push through and accept his past, while also making amends with his wrongs and coming to the realization of who the true enemy was; ultimately choosing peace and unity over destruction and fear. Zuko’s story is so appealing because it was drawn out. It was raw, it was real, and it was a genuine telling of how damaged people can heal, change, and come to accept themselves. Because he went through the process of redemption, he was not only able to be loved by those around him, but also by his audience-- And I believe that this can be the same case with any redeemable character.

So how does this relate to C!Sam? How could he possibly be redeemable if he is not evil?

C!Sam has become increasingly interesting to me in the DSMP lore, and he has shown how complex his character is-- in contrast to many first impressions that people have of him. Based upon his actions from the past, and his willingness to remain neutral in times of conflict, we can conclude that he sustains both “neutral good” and “lawful neutral/good” qualities. This means that Sam is a reliable character, driven by his own personal values, and is devoted to helping others (when he sees fit). Evidence of these qualities emerge…

When he sided with Pogtopia during the Manberg War to maintain good relations with Tommy and Tubbo.

When he saved Hannah from the Egg

Created Sam Nook to assist Tommy in building his hotel

Built Pandora’s Vault for Dream

Showed concern for Ranboo after one of his denied prison visits

Sam’s moral code is deeply rooted with good intentions; he keeps an eye out for his friends, maintains his relationships, assists in builds/projects, and also serves as a “stable adult figure” for some of the younger members of the server. In contrast to his logical outward appearance, C!Sam lets his emotions drive his decision making-- which can lead to many severe consequences depending on how he acts. However, recently Sam’s actions indicate that he is experiencing a flip in morals.

Below are incidents that have led to C!Sam’s recent change in moral code.

Incident 1: Trapped with the Egg

Many weeks ago, during the height of character involvement with the Egg lore, C!Sam was lured into a trap by BBH and Antfrost. He spent about a day trapped in close contact with the Egg, and after he was saved by Puffy and Tommy, he was clearly changed. It is likely that the Egg is behind these sudden changes in character motivation for Sam… similarly to how it corrupted BBH, Ant, and Punz. Whether this is the case with Sam is unclear.

Incident 2: Tommy’s death

C!Sam and C!Tommy’s relationship within the DSMP lore is one of my favorite things to talk about. After his victory over the disk war and finally landing his nemesis in prison, Tommy was left empty, without much to do. He decided to take upon a new project to incite a new era of peace, and was able to enlist the help of Sam with building his hotel. Throughout this process (and under the watchful eye of Sam Nook), Tommy and Sam were able to develop a bond with each other through their work, along with their interactions at the Prison.

Sam has made it clear that he intends to defend Tommy no matter what-- but after his untimely death at the hands of C!Dream, Sam was deeply wounded. He felt as if he failed his promise to keep Tommy safe, and he made it clear that the blame for the “security issue” and C!Tommy’s death should be placed fully on him. No matter how selfless and responsible this makes his character appear, this event will only serve as the basis for severe consequences in moral change in the future.

Incident 3: Confrontation with Quackity

Following the large emotional impact of Tommy’s death, C!Sam is very vulnerable, because he is still within the stages of grief. C!Quackity came to Sam for a partnership, to take advantage of Sam while he was low to gain the upper hand. It’s no question that Q’s character is a talented manipulator, we can see that clearly in his interaction with Sam. Q restates again and again that Sam failed, further cementing Sam’s existing guilt and desire for revenge for his failure. Sam gives in to the manipulation, and somewhat reluctantly allows Quackity to torture Dream to get information and to get payback for what he did to Tommy... which completely goes against what his responsibility of Warden entails.

As Warden, C!Sam is supposed to uphold the law and rules of visitation, but because of his leniency with Quackity (in breaking the rules) and because he is still emotionally raw, he no longer defends good from evil, but is now biased against it. C!Sam probably wants Dream dead, but as Warden, his opinion shouldn’t matter. Because Sam fully blames himself for failing Tommy, he's lost the "lawful good" in his character, meaning Warden Sam (as a set of morals) truly doesn't exist anymore.

Incident 4: Ponk’s mistake

To recap a stream briefly, Ponk did a prank on Sam a couple days ago, and stole a few of the expired keycards to Pandora’s Vault. Rightfully, Sam was very angry, and not only took back the keycards, but also imprisoned Ponk. However, where this interaction should have ended, C!Sam only took it to the extreme. (TW!!!!) Out of anger and frustration, C!Sam tortured Ponk for his wrongdoing by setting him on fire, and amputating his arm (END TW!!!).

This only proves my point from Incident 3. Warden Sam is fading, only bits and pieces of his morally neutral character remain within him for basic tasks. His encounter with Quackity had a huge impact on his psyche, not only is he allowing the torture of the prison occupants, but he is doing it himself as well. C!Sam is now starting to believe that pain and torture are the only solutions for punishment, which is the complete opposite of what he believed before Dream was imprisoned.

In short...

C!Sam is losing his grip on moral and mental stability because of his emotional insecurity due to his psychological trauma. Because of this, I believe that it is entirely possible for Sam’s character to explore the route of evil and unlawful values-- which furthers the possibility for a redemption arc. Even currently, Sam is eligible for redemption as well.

If C!Sam is willing to acknowledge his wrongs from today and improve himself upon them, he will likely become a more memorable, lovable, and even more human character than we’ve seen in the SMP before.

SIDENOTE!

IRL Sam recently posted in his discord talking about his character. Here are a few key things to keep in mind as the story goes forward:

“There is a LOT of things in the plan for me as a character and a very big change is coming about for me as the story moves along.”

I believe this change could be a villain arc, or a turn towards evil that incites the possibility for redemption.

“My character is playing a role that I think is VITAL for the server and a role that I like to think was a good one for me to pick up and accept.”

Hbomb is one of the genuinely kind people on the DSMP and probably one of the only people who is capable of providing an actual healing space.

Hbomb was the one person who sticks with Niki ever since her breakdown on Doomsday. He gave her all his tools and made an effort to stay in contact with her even though he was leaving the main area of the DSMP. He helped her build her city and helped her get her pet parrot. When she wanted to murder Tommy, H was also the person who told her that doing bad things to people brings more bad things. The syndicate might be right before Niki told Jack that she started baking again, but Hbomb has always been there for Niki when no one was and I'd argue that his companionship is what Niki needed to heal.

Hbomb was also one of the people who still had a relationship with Fundy that was not antagonistic. Even when Fundy wanted to rig the community house with TNT and was blatantly scammed H, he didn't get upset at him (the bar is on bedrock at this point with how people treat Fundy). There was never a doubt that H would honor his deal with Fundy and return Shclatt to him. He still cared about Fundy and thought about him (see: H's AA "lore" stream).

Even with people he didn't like (c! Tommy, because he bullied H), he was still civil. He gave Tommy presents and was there for the finale against Dream, only on the basis of that was the right thing to do.

- Fundy, Purpled, (person I can’t identify. They have (maybe) long hair and blue clothes) and Badboyhalo on the front row.

- Foolish, Alyssa, Niki, and Hbomb on the bottom row.

- Fundy seems to be in his L’Manberg skin.

- I think the one next to Bad is Antfrost but I’m not 100% sure because there are blue marks/clothes on their back.

Etho and Bdubs split the base. Etho didn’t force Bdubs to leave. They are still right next to each other.

Cleo left the fairy fort, Grian was evicted from the Southland.

But Etho and Bdubs drew a line in the middle of THEIR base. A ONE-BLOCK HIGH line made out of cobblestones.

One thing about Season 3 of the Dream SMP I really like is that even though everyone are fractioned, there is still that longing and gravitation toward community and connection:

- It's Niki and Jack wanting to kill Tommy but still caring for Puffy and Tubbo respectively. And if it comes down to it, they would choose to protect their loved ones instead of hurting others.

- It's Techoblade and Philza, despite being hurt and angry and distrustful, still took in Ranboo and bonded with him.

- It's Ranboo and Fundy, not talking but missing each other. It's them meeting again and immediately started to act like brothers all over again.

- It's Fundy, whose every father figures in his life had let down, still saying "I love you" to Philza, because he was family.

- It's Hbomb, saying he was done putting effort into people, being confused with no one to trust, yet still caring about Niki and trying to convince her that good deeds caused good deeds. It's him adopting animals and calling them his friends. It's him going faraway to start anew, but still returning to help Tommy and Tubbo.

- It's Badboyhalo willingly letting the eggs control him so he could be with Skeppy. It's Antfrost staying by BBH's side.

- It's Puffy and Sam choosing to be kind and patient with Tommy. It's them seeing a traumatised kid and choosing to protect him.

Ranboo said it was better to be alone. But grouping, teaming, community is what we gravitate toward. And I'm glad the server is proving Ranboo wrong :)
